🌼 Who likes to go outdoors and who prefers to stay inside?

In the summer Hilary prefers to stay inside, have late-night at-home movie dates or bake/cook together. Tyson is a beach person through and through (am I ever letting go of my surfer hc NO) and in order to get Hilary out and about, he has to make a lot of promises about doing extra chores or studying. But it's all worth it in the end when Hilary steps out in a bikini.

Oddly enough, Hilary and Tyson finds it annoying since when they do go to the beach she just curls up in a corner with a book and doesn't move about, so how does she manage to break it every single time 🧐

🐚Who likes collecting shells?

Tyson, and then he gives the best ones to Hilary. Which isn't a great idea since she's a hoarder so by the time they're old, she just has jars and jars full of shells given to her by Tyson.

Sometimes Tyson keeps the really good finds to show to his father whenever they meet.

🌞Who handles the heat better?

Tyson, Hilary complains a lot and never lends her handheld electric fan to anyone.

⛈Who’s afraid of thunderstorms?

Also Hilary, but she wouldn't exactly be scared of it, but just that they maker her uncomfortable and she prefers not to be alone when it's happening.

🌈Who enjoys the longer days the most?

I think this would really depend on the phase of their lives. When they're in school together then both of them would love longer days because that would mean being able to spend more time in each other's company. When they're in uni or when they start working, then they just want the day to get over so they can get home and see each other again.

⭐️Who likes to look at stars?

Tyson because he has a faint memory of his father pointing out the constellations to him when he was little, Hilary also becomes interested in astronomy after Tyson mentions this. And then she becomes the person Tyson goes to with all his questions astronomical questions.

🌊Freshwater or saltwater?

Tyson would love saltwater because he likes to swim/surf in the ocean during summers, Hilary likes freshwater because she enjoys sitting by a pond on a spring morning.

🍉Which one loves watermelon? Who spits the seeds like it’s a sport? Or who hates the seeds?

They both love watermelon and they definitely compete over who can spit the seeds out faster. Every now and then Tyson lets Hilary win so he can see her celebrate unabashedly.

🫐Do they like to go berry picking? Who picks the most berries? Who eats more than they pick?

This would be something that Hilary would plan for the two of them just so they can avoid going to the beach for a day. Tyson will obviously eat more berries than he picks and then sulk when Hilary finishes off with a larger amount than him.

🥩Who’s grilling? What are they grilling?

I can see Tyson as one of those guys who're really particular about their grilling equipment and techniques. They probably bring out the grill for cookouts and beach parties so Tyson would probably choose to grill some meat.

🛶Who’s never been on a kayak/canon? Do they tip over?

Hilary's probably never been because Tyson keeps teasing her about how he will tip her over.

✈️Do they travel over the summer? Where to?

I think when they're in their 20s they'd travel during every vacation they get, especially during the summers I can see them making plans to visit Max in America, or Rei in China. But when their kids are born, they prefer to do more domestic trips and save international travels for special occasions.

🎢Are they amusement park people? If so, what’s their favorite ride?

They weren't really until they decided to have 4 kids with wildly different personalities who can only ever agree on doing one activity together, riding a roller coaster. Hilary sits this one out though.

Do yiu have any tips on like how to attract more attention 😭 it's been a good while and it's a huge struggle of keeping motivation and not so amazing art so it's hard to sure my characters and their stories bc one thing a can say in confidence is I am a good writer I'd like to think, people tell me I have and oddly good but cryptic way of writing that keeps people enthralled, but my biggest struggle is getting them interested in the first place 😭

start off short & simple and build it up over time

if you start off with something big and complicated there will be more pressure to keep things big and complicated. theres nothing wrong with short and simple and mixing it up here & there (ie with art: if you only post full pieces with extravagant rendering people will keep expecting it. mix it up a bit. i try posting a variety of sketches and doodles and more detailed things— sometimes some things do better than others and thats ok!

it is 100% okay to repost/reblog your own work

if you ever see me spamming my blog with the same posts, its so i have it back on peoples feeds and on my main profile and its easier for people to find. its also likely that some ppl missed the post, and reblogging/reposting gives them the opportunity to see it!!

short & sweet descriptons

when you post, avoid giant paragraphs of text, especially if you’re including art in the post. people will be distracted and will see a giant post and just scroll past it

speaking of descriptions, try using trendy words and notable names

its kinda like hashtagging. if you look at my posts you’ll typically see how i will drop people’s full names + include the word “art” or “doodle” … this is because it will more likely show up on someones feed if said person looks up the same words.

ie: googling “muichiro tokito art” -> insert my post popping up because it has “muichiro tokito art” written out in the description

i admittedly have trouble providing tips as someone who doesnt rlly understand how i got noticed to begin with haha. something something imposter syndrome or whatever they call it these days… so im not really sure if anything above helps, but this is stuff i typically try to keep in mind when i post with the intent of trying to get people to see it

i know this is cheesy and this is easier said than done (i have this habit too a lot of the time) but numbers does not equal ur worth or talent. i know it isnt motivating and it can be so heartbreaking): but even if ur stuff doesnt get a lot of notoriety please know it doesnt define your value . this may sound like gibberish as it is 5 am as im posting this but truly… never give up on ur work!!! i promise u someone out there loves it

im more well known for my deaging & fluff content and to this day im rlly shocked it blew up the way it did. i really made it for myself. i came up with a whole alias and didnt plan on posting it anywhere bc i was so scared ppl would hate it and harass me or nobody would gaf. but eventually i was just like Man. if this thing helps me then maybe it can help someone out there too. and it helped provide ppl some joy & wonder and whimsy & made them feel seen and truly thats all i could ever want…

its difficult and its hard but i promise u… be patient and kind to yourself. it can definitely be hard sharing things around and getting that exposure you need but there are ways for sure. some journeys are faster than others and thats ok!

I've been around for years now and have never introduced myself. mainly cause I just choose to vibe and enjoy the posts people share, but first time for everything. You can just call me Key, I'm 24 and I go by she/her. Even when I started making fics I'm still not sure what goes through my mind when it comes to the title or chapter titles its literally the first thing that comes to mind and nothing after that but we will get it one day for sure.

Here's Some WIPs (that's both written and not) you guys can look forward too from me. I'll remove them and add them under the appropriate fic tags once I post them:

Uncle Yamcha fic: It is currently three chapters. The first one is him and Trunks, second is Marron, and the third one is Bra/Bulla. I really want to think of one for him and Goten but nothing has come to my mind. I just think he's more close to Krillin and Bulma where he'd interact more with their kids and I can't think of a scenario for him and Goten or what they would even talk about but maybe something will come. (I've currently sent this off to my Beta for review but lemme know if you guys want to see the un-beta'd version I have on here cause I'm really forward to sharing it)

Untitled EOZ fic following after Goku leaves the Tournament grounds to train Uub. This one sits at about 8k words (not sure exactly cause I added a bunch of notes at the end for my beta to see where my thoughts were going with it all) anyways this one focuses mainly on Trunks, Goten, Marron, Pan, and Bra as really the older kids look forward to what may lie ahead. A lot of it is just me focusing on the dynamics they have with each other. When I saw that dlc for kakorat was going to be focused on that one that really makes me want to share this one. Again let me know if you want to see that.

Based on this Ask here you can already see that I've completed 4 out of my 5 ideas so that leaves the other ones and maybe more if I think of anything else. All of these will probably be added to my Little Events fic. a few little ideas not shared here but I've thought about and have some dialoge in mind but haven't fully created yet.

I want to do something where Mario and Haru interact I just think it'll be so neat.

Maybe something where I do my take on introducing Sarasland and Princess Daisy. Probably along the lines of Peach meeting Daisy for the first time.

I need to hop on the wholesome bros. content at some point and I know I wanna try my hand with Mia and Pio as a part of it.

I think thats it for now...I'll probably add more if I think of something as having somwhere to put it down no matter how small it is can be nice to look at and push me towards getting it done.

Some (Random and Useless) Facts about my KNY Hashira god! AU

Note: there’s only one fact per god, and maybe, just maybe, some about the shrine keepers and other entities-

Tengen doesn’t have a favorite number, and if he does, it’s always shifting. You could ask him any time, any day, and one day it might be 4, the next? 404,236. He thinks it’s flashy.

Giyuu often saves drowning people. He never thinks much of it, thinks it’s an “act of service and protection”, and he doesn’t like to see sufferers. That plays into it much more than he knows.

Sanemi likes to summon things to fight. There’s been occasions where other gods have walked into his domain to see a wind monster running rampant, and Sanemi beating the everloving hell out of it.

Shinobu literally cringes when people don’t take her medical advice seriously. It’s downright horrible to look at for her, and finds herself ready to lose it when they come back to her shrine saying “My lovely goddess, it has failed me, the knowledge you have bestowed upon my shoulders.”

Rengoku (tengen, muichiro, and giyuu alike), prefer being talked to casually, instead of fancy words. It seems more welcoming, and a simple “good morning! How are you?” Is always better than a “how have you been faring on this fine date, my lord?”

Mitsuri has tried to play matchmaker with some other gods between themselves, and has also tried to get some of the shrine keepers together, it doesn’t end like she planned-

Gyomei puts divine blessings on stray cats to keep them out of harm’s way, it honestly works really well. Tanjiro watched a boulder fall only 1/8 an inch from a cat, leaving it shocked but unharmed.

When it comes to Obanai, when people (or gods *cough*Giyuu*cough*) Piss him off, he uses a trademark insult: “If you sssay one more thing, I will kill you with my snakes and watch you die.” It’s super effective!

Muichiro forgets a ton of things, but in his domain there’s a special mist that makes you forget things slowly, until you leave. It confuses everyone when they forget what the mist does, though they know they’ve been there before.

Tanjiro has a scar over his right eye, though it doesn’t affect him at all. “Just like a decorative object.” He says. Apparently he got it from an accident as a kid.

Nezuko likes to be in the flower garden of the shrines, and will pick flowers for the shrines, to put down.

Today I turn 34!

My 30s really have been better than my 20s, so far. Hopefully that trend continues for the upcoming year!

I took today off so I could have a 3 day weekend, and I'm going on a quick solo road trip to Big Bear (mountain area of SoCal) to celebrate 😊 Even though it might be rainy tomorrow, hopefully I can come back with photos to share!

My blaze post finished last night and I got the "Blaze Report" after I went to bed.

Yes, while some people assumed I paid for the $10 version, I actually paid for the $25 version, which estimates 7k impressions, so I'm surprised I got over 9k [insert meme here].

These stats don't line up with the notes on the actual post, which is curious. It has 40 comments (including 3 of my own), 184 reblogs and 356 likes. I'm guessing the difference comes from users who saw the reblogs and not the original sponsored post? Getting only 580 notes with 9k impressions is a little disappointing but that's tumblr for you

Anyway, that was super fun! I think I might try again sometime, but maybe with something less likely to have people curse at me lmao

In case you missed it, brillemos means "let's shine" in Spanish! And is also a pun on my name, Bri, because I'm a cringe dork and proud of it 😎

I saved alivorte as a side blog and wrote a little JavaScript that will auto-redirect to my new url, even if you're just looking at a singular post, it will redirect to that post. BUT, it only works on desktop. I don't know how to make it work on mobile and I'm not particularly motivated to try. Sorry mobile-using followers 😅

I'm registered for the Lesbians Who Tech Pride Summit this year and I recall that you went to the same event before (or something that sounded very, very similar to it). Do you have any tips to get the most out of it? I am still very much a tech newbie who wants to break into tech and the agenda looks a bit overwhelming. Thanks in advance if you have time to answer this ask! If not, it's okay...you sharing your career journey on tumblr has been inspiring, to say the least!

Aww thanks! I did go to Lesbians Who Tech back in 2018 when I was still in grad school. I think I also signed up for the virtual pride summit this year as well, though I probably won't be able to attend (work kinda gets in the way lol).

The biggest regret I have about when I attended in 2018 was being too shy to try to connect with other people there. I think that's probably the biggest benefit to attending events like this in the first place - networking. Which I've never been particularly good at, lol. So if possible, I'd recommend targeting sessions about networking or allow you to network.

Otherwise, as a tech newbie, you likely won't get much benefit from the more technical sessions, unless you already have some prior exposure to the topic or it's marketed as a beginner friendly session (like I found one called Intro to Native Mobile Development on Tuesday, if that suits your fancy). So I'd have some fun with it, look for ones that sound interesting to you! Or check out sessions in a variety of different areas of tech (coding, analytics, product mangement, etc) so you get a wider exposure to the tech world. I feel a little overwhelmed myself looking at how many sessions there are lol so I don't think I can give more specific advice than this, unfortunately.

Chapter 1 - I Wanna Be The Very Best

Word Count: 797 words A/N: alrighty looks like i’m actually writing fic again, who would’ve thought lmao. this is my first dream smp fic so if people are a bit ooc i apologize, hopefully i’ll get a better grasp on the characters as i keep writing. but yeah!! to give a quick summary this is a pokemon au fic mostly centering around tommy! if you like what you read please give this post a reblog and maybe a comment if you’re feeling extra generous and i’ll try to update this fic as much as my motivation allows! have a nice day <3

This is by far the most poggers idea Tommy Innit has ever had. 

Now don’t get him wrong, every one of his ideas are very pog, no matter what Wilbur says, but this one in particular is simply his finest work. You see, from the moment he discovered the existence of the Pokemon League Challenge he just knew he would be the next one to take up the mantle as League Champion. It was practically destiny! But in order to do that, as everyone knows, you need to collect every Gym’s badge, defeat each member of the Elite 4 one after the other, and finally, defeat whoever the current Champion is.

It was almost too easy, really, in Tommy’s humble opinion.

But becoming Champion is just his end goal. No, the truly awe-inspiring idea that mastermind and veritable genius Tommy Innit had come up with was that he wasn’t going to wait even a minute longer to start his journey, which means he would become the youngest Champion in history of ever, and then he would finally get some recognition of hi-

“Are you sure you’re allowed to do this? I mean, I got permission from my dad so long as I check in every week or so, but did your family really say they’re okay with you leaving?”

Tommy put a pause on his epic internal speech, sighing. “Tubbo, Tubbo, Tubbo. Big Men such as myself don’t need to ask permission for these sorts of things.” 

Oh yeah, and he was going to do it with Tubbo.

...What? It wasn’t like he was just gonna leave his best friend behind, who do you take him for? And what would Tubbo even do without Tommy there? He was really doing him a favor because Tubbo would probably implode or some shit if Tommy didn’t let him tag along on his soon-to-be historic journey. At least, he wouldn’t be surprised if he imploded, with Tubbo being the clingiest person in the world and everything. 

But even all that clinginess didn’t keep Tubbo from frowning and fixing Tommy with one of his signature Disapproving Looks™ in response.

“...Tommy,” he said. “I get that you wanna do this without their help, but this is kind of a big deal. Like, everyone I’ve ever known, from here in town and from far away, always describes going on journeys as legitimately life-changing. They’re this ‘huge milestone’ and ‘super valuable experience’, and all that. Surely your family would want to know you’re going on one now? Not to mention the fact that they’d think you’ve literally disappeared if you didn’t tell them anything at all, like I’m almost certain you did.” 

“Wow. That is so very rude and cringe of you, Tubbo,” Tommy said. “I can’t believe you’d think so little of me. I’ll have you know I know exactly how big of a deal this is, and I did tell everyone I’m on my way to becoming the Biggest Man ever.”

(As long as leaving a note on his bedroom door counts as telling everyone what he’s about to do, which, by the way, it definitely does.) 

Tubbo’s eyes narrowed. His Disapproving Look™ didn’t waver in the slightest for the next few moments, which Tommy definitely didn’t wilt under at all, but eventually he sighed and turned his attention back to sorting through his bag of supplies for the fourth time this morning. “Alright then. I’ll take your word for it. But if somewhere down the line I find out that there’s a region-wide search looking for you or something equally as ridiculous, I’m not to blame for your bad decision making.”

Tommy scoffed, rolling his eyes. “Please. I’ve never made a bad decision in all my life. I’m offended you’d ever suggest such a thing.” 

Tubbo stopped his sorting and turned to raise an eyebrow at him. Tommy hated that eyebrow. It moving like that always meant Tubbo was either about to give him a lecture or, even worse, slander his good name.

“So that one time when you and your Zigzagoon got stuck on my roof after trying to prove that with your powers combined you could climb literally anything.. wasn’t a bad idea?” he asked with a grin. 

Slander, then. Unbelievable. 

“TUBBO UNDERSCORE how DARE you bring up The Incident™, I’ve never felt more betrayed in my entire life, I- I cannot believe you right now, we are no longer friends- 

Tubbo burst out laughing as Tommy lunged forward to tackle him, missing just barely as Tubbo ducked away and started running, leaving Tommy to almost faceplant in the dirt before catching himself and giving chase. “GET BACK HERE YOU BITCH!!” 

Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. 

This was still the best idea Tommy’s ever had. He could feel it.

🚨 Human muzzling, whipping, and bondage, creepy whumper🚨

Connor returned the next morning to Hanna laying on the bare mattress, curled up on her side and sound asleep. He took a seat on the edge of the bed, careful not to wake her, and set the platter of hot pancakes down next to him. He sat there, watching her silently as she slept; listening to her small breaths and watching her chest as it rose and fell slowly. Her wild curly hair fell over her muzzle and around her face in a beautiful wonderful mess and he was tempted to kiss her.

She looked so beautiful like that; silent and calm and peaceful. He reached out for her and shifted the bed slightly, which woke Hanna with a paniked start. She flipped over grabbed his wrists and glared up at him through bleary alert eyes.

Her immediate defiance made his heart thrum with joy. He smiled softly down at her. “Good morning Hanna Banana. How are we doing today?”

She glared at the pet name which made the crows feet in the corners of her eyes wrinkled. Another heart squeeze on Conner's end followed by another small smile. He gestured to the muzzle. “Roll over. Let's take that off of you.”

She hesitated, wondering why he was being nice.

“Unless . . . you don’t want it off?”

Her gaze narrowed but she slowly rolled onto her side. She had spent the entire night fighting to get the damn contraption off and if someone was offering to remove it she was going to let them. Conner inserted the key and unlocked the latches which he then loosened. When the wrenched device was finally gone Hanna swung her legs over the side of the bed and moved quickly to the bathroom. Conner followed closley behind.

She threw the chewed white block of soap into the toilet and spit into the sink violently. The cuppings of her molars were packed with the bitter waxy remains and she dug them out using her nails and the brush set out for her on the counter. Her irritated gums stung as water washed over them and upon further inspection she noticed that they were red and bleeding slightly. She cringed and rinsed the flavor out, but no matter how many times she washed her mouth out, the bitter aftertaste remained.

As Hanna tried to get the remaining soap out of her mouth, Conner watched her through the door frame. His eyes traveled from her small bare feet up her legs which were stong and full from years of living on the streets. His eyes went to her ass which was dressed in a pair of gym shorts and then to the bare spot on her back that wasn’t covered by her white tank top. She was the perfect combination of sexy and strong, a diamond in the rough that only he could polish to perfection.

With a toothbrush hanging out of her mouth, Hanna pulled her beach curls up into a high ponytail and suddenly turned, catching Conner by surprise and catching a glimpse of him eyeing her ass. They both froze. Hanna took the toothbrush out of her mouth. “Can I help you?” she inquired with toothpaste in the corners of her mouth.

Another heart squeeze to Conner’s heart. He walked out of the bathroom, giving her some space, and taking a seat on the edge of the bed. “I brought pancakes,” he offered. “You haven’t eaten in almost two days, you must be starving.” He pushed the pancakes to the edge of the bed. Hanna, who was done in the bathroom and standing in its doorway, eyed them skeptically.

“Are they poisoned?” she asked with a raised eyebrow.

He smirked. “No. They aren’t poisoned.”

She hesitated for several seconds before snatching one off the plate. She may have been his temporary prisoner and she may have disliked his company but she wasn’t stupid. Starving herself wouldn’t do her any good; she needed to keep her energy up if she was going to escape. She eyed it once more before folding it in half and taking a bite.

The taste was unbelievable, warm and vanilla-y and nutty. She recognized the taste immediately and forced the mashed mixture down. The sweetness turned bitter and foul on her tongue, choking her.

"Come on, I made them myself special for you. They're Vanilla Walnut. I know that’s how you like them."

Her stomach clenched with nerves and disgust. “How’d you get this recipe?” she demanded although she was not sure she wanted the answer. “How did you know about these?”

The recipe belonged to Zero, her best friend, her lover, and her confidante. This was his exact recipe and tasting them opened the floodgates. Every painful memory overwhelmed her: his smile, his smile, his touch, his taste and his smell. He had been at Safe Haven when it had been raided and she hadn’t seen him since that terrible night. They had been fighting together side by side until she was hit behind the head and knocked unconscious.

He smirked. "I know more about you than you think Hanna," he said softly. "In fact Hanna, I’ve had a mole in your precious little Safe Haven since the very beginning. And you never - even - noticed."

Hanna shook her head in disbelief. "No. No you're lying." She walked to the window and placed her hands on the sill. Broken glass bit into her skin.

“If I am, then tell me this. Does your ankle still hurt when you run?”

Hanna turned to him as her stomach tied itself in knots. “What?”

“I only ask because I know about that incident you had while sparing with Logan last fall. You know. The one where you broke your ankle after he tackled you,” he winced. “I bet it does doesn’t it?”

Hanna reeled, confused and scared by his words as she realized the truth behind his original statement. She turned to him. "What? Why would you have a mole in Safe Haven?"

He smiled. "Let me respond with a question of my own.” He moved towards her and took a seat on the edge of the bed across from her. “Do you know why people age wine Hanna?"

Hanna looked at him, perplexed. His question wasn’t helping her nerves.

He smirked. "People age wine Hanna to improve its quality. Only one percent of all the wine in the world is meant to be aged, while the remaining ninety-nine percent is perfectly fine to drink as is." He paused. "Omegas are kind of like wine Hanna. Ninety-nine percent of them are perfectly fine as is, while the other remaining one percent,” he gestured to Hanna, “needs to be aged to reach its full potential." He approached her and patted her on her head. "My family has been protecting you and the other Big Six for the past ten years, knowing that the profits of our reward would only sweeten with time."

“But why would your family care about us? What made us so special?”

He looked at her, perplexed about her confusion. “Hanna. You escaped out of a maximum security facility at age ten with the rest of the Big Six. You remained free and then started Safe Haven only a couple years later. Imagine hearing that as an Alpha. Learning about some young plucky teenagers gathering forces in the streets and liberating people of their kind.”

“So, my family kept the Big Six safe. We told the Slavers that you were under our protection and that you couldn't be touched. Slavers protested of course, until they were told the plan . . . to wait a couple of years till the fruit ripened and was ripe for the picking.”

“And they listened to you?”

“Refusing our demands would result in them losing their largest financial supporter,” he said flatly. "Of course they listened."

“So your family business is -”

“Omega trafficking. We support the Slavers with equipment and supplies and in return we get a portion of the profits from each auction.”

“Your whole family?”

He nodded. "My great grandfather was the first Alpha to start trafficking Omegas. When he died he passed the business to my grandfather, who passed it down to my mother, who then passed it down to me.”

Hanna shook her head. She couldn't bear what he was telling her. How many Omegas had his family imprisoned and sentenced to a life of misslery and prostitution. And how many of those Omegas died?

She found herself thinking about her family and the Omegas she knew from Safe Haven. They were people with hopes and dreams and aspirations. Some of them wanted to start futures for themselves and have actually lives on the surface world. And now . . . that wasn't going to happen. She thought of all of the Omegas before her that had met the same fate as a result of Conner and his family, and she couldn't stomach it.

"What's wrong Hanna? Is something the matter?"

She couldn't contain herself. “Your kind disgusts me.”

“My kind?” he almost laughed. “But I brought you pancakes!”

“Fuck your damn pancakes!!” she shrieked. “Any human who owns another to compensate for being powerless is disgusting! And people who make a living off it . . .” She was seething.  “You're disgusting! You and your whole family! You’re all -- you’re all fucking monsters!”

The room fell still for several seconds, with Hanna standing above him royally pissed and Conner sitting on the edge of the bed taking the lashes of her tongue silently. He looked down at his strong veiny hands like he was examining the invisible blood on his hands for the first time. “You think I’m . . . a monster?” he breathed. He sighed and looked back up to Hanna.

His grey eyes were cold and unyielding, lacking all of the warmth that they had previously contained. They squinted at her, eying her like she was a challenge. He rose from his seat and approached her slowly and silently. Hanna took a step back, and then another. Her heel connected with the wall and she panicked. She had nowhere else to go.

He towered over her smirking, and then rested a strong veiny hand on top of her head. It rested there, on top of her high bun, before grabbing it and using her hair to yanking her forward.

He grabbed her by the back of her neck with his other hand and it wrapped around her throat with a strength that caused her to cry out surprised.  She clawed at his fingers desperately as she was dragged out of the room, down a long hall that was decorated by large old paintings and a long red rug, till he got to the end where there was an elevator. He threw her into it and she stumbled against the back wall where she leaned against the wall. She glared at him as he pressed the button for the basement floor and the doors shut.

"You know Hanna,” he said with his back turned to her. “I tried to be nice. I gave you warnings, and then I reinforced my warnings with a light punishment, hoping that would be enough to teach you how to behave yourself. But clearly your punishments need to be more severe."

"If you're looking for me to be your good little toy," she seethed, "forget it. It won't happen.”

He turned to her slowly with an amused smirk and eyes that gleamed. "You will. Eventually. I just have to teach you how."

The elevator stopped dropping and the doors parted, revealing two large men dressed in black suits. “Take her and get her into position twelve. Don't hurt her. I’ll join her in a couple minutes.”

He stepped to the side and let the men take Hanna away. They twisted her arms behind her back till Hanna was sure they were trying to dislocate her shoulders, and took her to the dungeon. Hanna was moved to the center of the room where a set of leather cuffs were bound around her wrists. The cuffs were connected to long chains which Hanna discovered were bolted securely to the ceiling. When they finished they left Hanna standing alone in the center of the dirt floored room with cobble walls.

Conner entered holding a coiled bull-whip in his hand.

Hanna grimaced.

He played with the whip casually as he approached Hanna. Her menacing stare never wavered, not even when he looped the whip around her neck and pulled her towards him.

“Just remember. This is all because of you Hanna. I wouldn’t be forced into doing this if you could watch your language.”

Hanna bit down on her molars. "Go fuck yourself."

His smirk turned sour and he walked behind her. Hanna resumed fighting against her restraints until she was stopped by the sound and bite of the whip snapping across her shoulder blades. Her body stiffened and arched at the unimaginable pain as a crisp line of fire blossomed across her skin.

Connor delivered another before she can regain her composition.

Crack!

She cried out as the braided leather bit the outside of her right thigh. She twisted and curled her leg off the ground in a sadistic pained dance.

Crack!

A solid blow across the small of her back ripped a scream out of her lungs. It cut through her white tank top and blood seeped through, dripping down her back and bleeding into the hem of her black shorts.

Crack!

Hanna bit down on her tongue to suppress the next scream.

Crack!

She tasted blood.

Crack!

Crack!

She let out an agonizing cry and fell forwards against her chains. She didn't want to see him completely defeated, so she wrapped her hands around the chains for support.

Crack!

It flicked against her left shoulder and Hanna felt the flesh split. Think about something else. Think about something else.

Crack!

She couldn't. The pain and sound of the cracking whip consumed her thoughts.

Crack!

That one wrapped around her hip and bit the soft tender flesh above her pelvis. She pulled and twisted against the chains before dropping. Sweating and painting, she rested her head against her arm. Her previously white shirt was covered in red blotches and dark red lines. Some of the overlapping lashes shredded and ribboned the fabric and Conner could see her bloody torn skin beneath.  

Conner rounded her and used the blunt end of the whip to lift her face up. She opened her eyes and looked up at him with unfocused eyes. "Stand up Hanna," he said. "Get on your feet. The lashes won't stop till I hear an apology."

Hanna whimpered. She didn't want to apologize, but she didn't want this to continue either. Conner resumed his position. Slowly, she pulled herself upright to a standing position. She could do this. She just had to stay strong. She could stay strong.

Crack!

The lashes resumed with even more ferocity and Hanna screamed.

Crack!

Her ankle.

Crack!

The back of her left leg below her ass.

Crack!

Her cheek.

Crack!

Her right shoulder blade again.

Crack!

The back of her left leg.

"Stop!" She screamed. "Please for the love of  . . ." Her breaths came to her in quick wheezy gasps that failed to provide her oxygen. "Please stop." she begged. Tears fell freely down her face and dampened her bare feet.

"That doesn't sound like an apology Hanna," said Connor, preparing another lash.

She whimpered.

"What are you sorry for Hanna?"

Hanna hesitated.

Crack!

Hanna screamed as the whip bit her ankle. "Swearing!! I'm sorry for swearing!"

"Are you going to do it again?" he asked.

She hung her head in exhaustion. "No . . . I won't."

Conner rounded her and grabbed her by her sweat soaked hair. He pulled her head back ever so slightly and Hanna winced. "You made it to sixteen lashes Hanna. If you go against your promises again, I won't stop till I get to fifty."

He dropped her head and Hanna listened as he walked to the door and left without another word. Leaving Hanna, covered in welts, lacerations and sweat, hanging by her chains and crying silently in pain.

i totally feel your tags on that last post. staying motivated when you're a content creator is so hard when the majority of people in a fandom straight up refuse to like or reblog shit or refrain from commenting on certain posts because it 'ruins the aesthetics' and then it gets even more disheartening when people say the fandom's dying. i've had people ghost me so bad I've literally thought they left tumblr altogether but no? they just unfollowed me bc i couldn't keep posting daily?

but oof i’m sorry you’ve had such a tough go at it with your work 💞💞 i’ve definitely had vey similar experiences throughout several fanbases over the years and i think those issues have just gotten worse with the time, at least in my experience?

tbh i think each fan community including its smaller subsets—different pairings, single characters, etc.—has it’s own like, overarching mentality when it comes to content and creators, but what i’ve seen happening the last few years in general, is that overall there’s this obsession with aesthetics so you don’t reblog things that could ruin that—or even reblog at all!! then what’s the gd point of using this platform??—and you don’t want to be ‘annoying’ so you don’t send asks to people or talk outside your tags or tack your own ideas or a nice comment on the end of a shared post you really liked, thus there’s this overall lack of actual support for creators followed by this ironic complaining about people leaving fandom or content feeling repetitive, etc....

you’re allowed to have preferences and favorites and and things you hate or are annoyed by, whatever, so i don’t think anyone should expect you to share stuff you don’t care about or like, but like...how are you not even gonna share stuff you do like?? 

honestly lmao how is that one fanfic post gonna mess up your queue....how is that cute drawing going to fuck up your Aesthetic....like god we’re on a blogging platform built around sharing content, how do you think shit pops up on your dash in the first place? how it ends up anywhere on here? and idk how to tell y’all this but uhhh this ain’t twitter so no one’s gonna see your gd likes out of nowhere...and i know you’re not gonna go back to them later and reblog all those posts, m’kay...

tbh i just wanna scream it to people that if you want to see more content than the same three headcanon posts and one artist’s work alone and fic that’s different than the one group of writers you follow who all only write that one thing you’re not really into, then reblog more than just the singular “trending” content that you’re only sharing because a bigger blogger posted or shared it!  follow more people! hell, use the explore page! send posts to your friends that you think they’d like! 

oh, and it’s okay to add stuff onto someone’s post if you like where it’s going or even if you’ve done something similar and want people to know about your take on the idea! it’s great to send nice messages to people saying you like their work because i can guarantee it’s going to brighten their day even a little bit, maybe even motivate them to make more things you’ll enjoy!

and listen if someone thinks your addition is annoying or stupid or they don’t agree with it or even think you should’ve just kept in the tags then like....they’ll reblog a different version lmao, and that shouldn’t affect you.

it can really all be solved through us just interacting with other people and content more?? and not being so obsessed with Aesthetics + unlearning the mindset that everything we do is Annoying is definitely going to help with that  you know that one post, “everything’s cringe bitch, let’s get you some interests”...it really do be like that.

like the lovely @hartigays was saying: it’s not one singular blogger/creator/small group’s fault that something blows up and that’s all anyone talks about or supports from then on and that’s why other creators and types of content get ignored; it’s everyone that follows their lead because we haven’t exhausted the mentality that someone’s “status”—even in fandom of all places jfc—means that their likes and dislikes are God Tier and we need to follow their lead because they’re the beacon of taste...no...whatever they post or share? it just happens to sometimes reach more people directly. it doesn’t mean it’s all what’s good or all there is. 

really it’s not that hard to find more varied content, people are just....idk. like just go look through tags and peoples’ blogs and reblog shit more often and woo, problem solved if more of us do that? like algorithms be damned, there are tools on every social media platform to help you find the stuff and people you’re looking for?

and when it comes to the ghosting, anon, on a separate note....some people are just dicks, unfortunately, and i’m sorry you’ve had to go through that. having that and/or seeing esp friends or mutuals literally reblog around your content even if it’s in their realm of interests, feels like a slap to the face. tbqh i’ve really just stopped trusting when people make these grandiose promises of commitment bc most never actually follow through, or they jet the second you can’t post, want to do something different, whatever, because, what, you’re suddenly not serving them directly anymore, or they’re reminded content creation requires practice and effort and time from real people? it’s bullshit either way and if someone drops you like that, that’s on them, not on you or your work 💕

long post short: interact with people and reblog/share their content if you actually want to keep seeing content. solely leaning on bigger bloggers and creators for all your content needs is going to limit options and alienate people, so share the love, hunt for things up your alley, and curate a space specific to your tastes, not others. 

you don’t need to be devoted to someone with your heart and soul or share content you don’t like for the sake of appearances, but sharing more content and interacting with people really does benefit everyone!

Listen, I understand your frustration of not getting what you want, but do you know how hard it is to write a good fic? You sit and google the best ways to break into steel doors and what equipment you’d need, and what that part of a motorcycle is called you know nothing of, and what earthworms taste like on a fresh September morning, and what type of tea brand folks preferred in 1767 in London, UK, in the upper classes during Boxing Day…And don’t get me started on english-ing as a non-native such as myself, and wondering how many natives you’ll make cringe with that last sentence😂 So we’re all rolling in our own misery of hell while writing, okay. And then after that is done, there’s editing left. Editing. Is. The. Worst. (Unless I’m doing it for other people’s writings, lol! But editing my own stuff? TORTURE.)That takes at least 5 times longer than the original draft, and two ice cream boxes and five ugly crying fits in a corner later, you finally give up and just decide to fuck it and post it.

— and then you get 2 comments saying “this nice thank” and 5 kudos —

And that’s it. 😂 that’s very anticlimactic sometimes lmao. Don’t get me wrong, I love those comments as much as the long elaborating ones okay. I embrace each comment and kudo as if they’re the gift for my firstborn!But what I’m trying to say is that writers put a LOT of work and energy and time into their fics, and the better the content, the harder the work, trust me okay, quality content doesn’t fall from the heavens where Jane Austen’s ghost blesses us with free-fluffy-genius masterpieces of literature for Desus. And when you put so much work and energy into something, and the support you’re getting doesn’t really match up with the energy you’re putting in, it can get draining and exhausting quickly. Comments give creators energy. Attention and support motivates more than a good inspirational idea. When I have a good inspirational idea, you know what I do? I dream about the ideal story before falling asleep just as any other person, and go sleep. Period. I do not invest all my free time after 10 hours of irl work to share a fanfic and then not get comments. Lmao. This attitude of expecting content creators to deliver content like machines for free has to die!We’re human. We have day jobs. We have families, responsibilities, lives. So if someone blesses us with a chapter update of their ongoing fic after 6 months of hiatus, you don’t abandon or quit that fic out of frustration and entitlement-feels. YOU FUCKING APPRECIATE. You don’t whine about fics not being finished when so many of you have the attitude “I don’t read unfinished fics, lala” — and with that you’re saying basically “I’m too entitled to support this writer while they’re writing and I’m waiting for them to finish their work so I can read it in one go and not comment at all. Lol.”I’m repeating myself, but how about supporting and encouraging people and sharing their works, reblogging their works, commenting on their works, recommending their works. Like… I can’t solve this problem for you.

All I can say is:WRITING IS HARD. And support what you like. I promise (for the third time) that will help and encourage!

1) How old were you when you first starting writing fan-fiction?

Around 20, I think.

2) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.

Reader inserts, definitely. I don’t mind throwing OC’s in there if I need to, though. I really like reading reader inserts. I think it’s really fun and engaging to imagine yourself in a story.

3) What is your favorite genre to write for?

Super Heroes! Although I really adore fantasy. If I were to write a book, it would be fantasy.

4) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?

I’m… not sure. I s'pose it’d have to be One Mistake, simply because I think it’s worst piece.

5) When is your preferred time to write?

Whenever I actually find the motivation to write, which usually ends up being around 1-4 am. Aka I’m a Mess: Part 1

6) Where do you take your inspiration from?

Have you seen this man?

I suppose I also draw inspiration from comics, movies, TV shows, and video games where applicable.

7) In your Winter’s War Series, what’s your favorite scene that you wrote?

Out of the entire trilogy? Dang, that’s tough. Maybe in Ghosts of War when Bucky, Reader, and Nat are sitting together, sort of like some messed up little family? If not that, then it’s probably in Winter’s War when Reader, Steve, and Bucky reunite after the Azzano goes up in flames.

8) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?

I don’t think I’ve ever received “criticism.” I’ve received very polite corrections of some of the German in WW from some native speakers, but that’s about it (I haven’t corrected any of it yet because I’m a lazy pos).

9) Who is your favorite character to write for? Why?

Bucky Barnes. Because he’s Bucky Barnes.

10) Who is your least favorite character to write for? Why?

I don’t really write characters that I don’t like. Even villains are fun to write, even if I hate them. If I had to choose, I guess it’d be Ashley Williams, from the Mass Effect series. I’ve only written her once, but she’s a damned space racist and I hate her, even if I didn’t hate writing her.

11) How did you come up with the title for the Winter’s War Series?

Winter’s War was named with the final scene of the first book in mind, as well as what reader and Bucky would be turned into for the second book; Winter Soldier(s), and the war that led them to being created. And because they “die” in the snow and ice. Ghosts of War because that’s what Reader and Bucky are in the second book. Ghosts. Shells of themselves. War torn and weary. Weapons. War of Attrition because, in the third book, they fight tooth and nail for every scrap of memory, personality, humanity, and they don’t always win. They’re going to hit a lot of roadblocks, mostly in the form of other humans, their past and their guilt, and sometimes each other.

12) How did you come up with the idea for Winter’s War Series?

I always liked the thought of a Bucky x Reader series where they both ended up as Winter Soldiers. Everything kind of grew from that. It follows very closely to the canon, so everything was trying to figure out the most believable way to weave a reader character into the existing story.

13) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?

“Abandoned” is a strong word…. *stares guiltily at The Way I Do and Two of a Kind.* I just haven’t found the inspiration to write them recently, but I do plan on finishing them… eventually.

14) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?

I plan on doing a second part for A Night to Remember when October rolls around. I also plan on adding more monster!Bucky’s to The Monster Series. My other series are complete or in progress and I don’t plan to add more to them (except to finish them in the case of the WIPs).

15) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?

I don’t think so, no.

16) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?

@angryschnauzer​ writes absolutely divine smut. I absolutely hate writing smut, so I wish I had her skills. There are others, but she’s the first one that came to mind. If I listed out every single author on here that I admire and why I admire them, we’d be here for another ten paragraphs!

17) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?

I only started writing back in August. Anything written before that’s been lost to the Great Laptop Death of 2017. So, luckily, most of my writing is relatively recent and cringe-free.

18) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?

I prefer listening to music (I love loud music and hate silence), but it’s distracting. My brain sometimes can’t process correctly so it tries to write the words I’m hearing instead of what I actually want to write. RIP me and my stupid brain. Aka I’m a Hot Mess: Part 2.

19) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story?

Haha. No. I’m dead inside. I very rarely (if ever) cry when reading, too.

20) Which part of your Winter’s War Series was the hardest to write?

Oh god the entire Agents of SHIELD part of War of Attrition. That show is so dense and woven so intricately into the MCU that it was difficult as hell to figure out where to put the reader so that it’d be relevant and set up for the next parts of the story. I love that show, but it was so hard *sobbing*.

21) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?

I almost never make outlines. WoA has been the exception because, as stated above, the content was way denser and I needed a clear path to be able to write them from point A to point B. That being said, I’ve only gotten as far as just after AoU. I haven’t decided what to do with Civil War or Infinity War yet.

22) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fan-fiction?

A) How Tumblr worked and B) that it’s a terrible, terrible site with horrible coding that, if it were a person, I would shoot as a mercy. Other than that, I read a lot of fics on here before I started posting some myself, which meant I had a pretty good idea of how to format it to be reader-friendly. Still had to google a lot of stuff, though.

23) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?

Hmmm. I’m lucky in that I think I have a lot of readers/followers who leave lots of likes/comments/reblogs, but if I had to choose one? I think it’d be my recent Steve x Reader fic, Promise.

24) In contrast to 23 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?

Oh god. Again, I’m grateful for every like, comment, and reblog I get, but By Chance. It’s by far my most popular one shot at a staggering 1,925 notes. I like the a/b/o verse, but I posted it pretty early on in my writing career and it skyrocketed which completely blindsided me. The same thing kinda happened with Dumped, Drunk, and Angry. I wrote a one shot in a day or two because inspiration hit me like a freight train, and somehow they’re both over a thousand notes now.

25) Are any of your characters based on real people?

I s'pose Reader is always based off of me, just a little bit? Every other character (except the rare OC) has an established personality, but if I made reader a completely faceless, bland being it wouldn’t be that fun to read, would it? So even though I’m always careful to never describe reader too much physically, s/he always ends up with at least some of my personality.

26) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?

Oh goodness, I don’t know. My readers are amazingly kind people. I get a lot of asks and comments saying very, very nice things all the time. I don’t think I could choose just one if I tried..

27) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?

I was told very politely I spelled some German words wrong/used the wrong German words.

28) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest?

I word vomit on my real life friend sometimes if I’m really stuck. It’s not always super useful because she doesn’t follow/watch any MCU stuff. Mostly, ideas just bounce around in my head until one sticks.

29) Do people know you write fan-fiction?

Yeah, most of my real life friends know. The friend I mentioned above writes fanfic, just not for the MCU. The rest are big nerds, too, so they don’t judge me.

30) What’s your favorite minor character you’ve written?

I loved writing Ran Shen and Mila Hitzvig for The Bitter March arc in Ghosts of War. As far as OC’s go, Dean from my series Time is probably my favorite.

31) What spurs you on during the writing process?

Interest in the source material has a lot to do with it. For example, I was writing easily 4k+ words a day when I was writing about the events of Captain America: the Winter Soldier. Other than that, I wait for the urge to hit me… which sometimes means I don’t write for a few days and sometimes a week depending on what’s happening in real life.

32) What’s your favorite trope to write?

So far? Soulmate. A/B/O was also fun and I’ll probably write it again at some point.

33) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?

Oh jesus, no. I have the worst memory ever. I’m lucky if I can remember things a week ago, much less years ago.

34) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?

Uhh… Not smut, I know that much. But I have this bad habit where I can’t write fluff without some angst and vice versa? I don’t think I could deal with writing cotton candy fluff for the rest of my life, though. So…. angst, I guess? But I wouldn’t be happy about it.

"How Do I Stop Being Kin!?”: A Helpful Guide (Long Post)

so... yup. tumblr ate some of my archive, including one of my most important posts: a list of steps on how to distance yourself from the kin community. as there’s no way (that i know of) to get that post back... here’s this! 

how to use the guide: all complaints/problems that kin frequently send when they don’t want to be kin anymore? those are in large bold. each complaint has a list of steps on how to solve it; the steps (my responses) are just in the normal font. don’t see what you need? send an ask saying you want to see it in a part 2! 

“I don’t want to be kin with (x) anymore!” 

okay! this one centers mostly around keeping lists. and as i said to the most recent anon, the first step toward stopping is wanting to stop. 

1. get two separate sheets of paper (or start digital documents you can print later). on one, write “(Your Name) List”. on the other, write “(Kintype Name) List.” 

2. fill the YN List first. write down every one of your own traits that you can name. they can relate to appearance, gender, hobbies/interests, mental health, neurodiversity, hopes and aspirations, etc. these do not all have to be good things. try to have a 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 balance of good, bad, and neutral traits. (an example of a bad trait/habit is “nail biting”, because that’s harmful. not “brown hair”. if you don’t like your hair color put “brown hair” down as a neutral trait. it’s not bad, you just want a different color.) 

3. fill the KN (kintype name) list next. do not use “i”, “we”, “myself”, in this list becase it’s not about you. 

  • if it’s a fictional character, write down facts relating to the character’s creation. who’s the author/designer/creator? what year was the source released? what type of media is the source -- a fantasy book, a video game, a movie? emphasize that the character is fictional, not real (add ‘in this universe’ if you believe in the multiverse theory) and cannot be reincarnated. 

• if it’s an animal, write down all of its behaviors: does it eat meat? what sounds does it make? is it dangerous or not? now, if you believe in reincarnation, it’s way more plausible that animals can be reincarnated and their next lives can be as humans. emphasize that even if you were the animal in a past life, you are a human now -- it is not healthy to think you literally still are the animal and/or to behave like it. 

•  if it’s a part of nature, like a star or a tree, write down all the facts about it that you know and emphasize that it is not sentient, it doesn’t have a soul, and it cannot make choices or be reincarnated. 

keep the lists with you (as a physical copy/paper). 

4. tell yourself that it’s okay to like the character, animal, or thing, it’s okay to feel that it represents part of who you are. it’s okay to feel comforted by it when you’ve had a shitty day or you’re in a bad mood. feeling these things does not automatically make you kin. write these down on a small piece of paper and keep the paper with you. 

5. even though it is okay to like the character/animal/thing, slowly start avoiding content that includes it. if you are trying to stop being fictionkin, do not watch the source. stay away from fanfic, pictures, etc, that make you have strong emotions about it. 

6. if you ever are feeling guilty about something your kintype did (and this applies mostly to villain kin), you are projecting. whether you’re feeling guilty about your own mistakes without realizing, or you want the chance to fix something/apologize, you are projecting. if you are acting out what you really, really want the villain to do -- ie, you relate to them strongly but they’re not repentant and you want them to be... rp. start a roleplay blog, write a redemption au. look back at your lists again. 

• if it’s not a villain, but you’re feeling guilty about something bad your kintype did, still do a bit of rp and keep looking back at those lists! 

7. whenever you have “kinfeels” or “kin memories”, look at your YN and KN lists. read them to remind yourself that you are not the same person as the character, not the same being as the animal, and not something inanimate. 

8. try new things and (now i’m not saying this to be a bitch) go outside. i mean it. vitamin d is good for you. you don’t have to exercise, but if you are able to, go for it. visit the library, the park, a coffee shop, the mall, anywhere. test out new hobbies, like 

• writing fiction (could be about the character/animal/thing, if this is how you maintain a connection with it while not identifying as it) 

 • traditional drawing  

 • digital drawing 

 • sewing, knitting, or crochet 

• writing movie critiques/analyses 

• jewelry making 

• making non-kin-related selfcare 

• sports 

“I want to get out of the community, but I’m not ready to let go of my kintypes!” 

so you’re not ready? okay. this is still your first step. you will fuck yourself over badly if you push yourself to 100% stop being kin before you can function without it. this is true in situations like abusive households or trauma: if you pretend that you’re someone else who’s never had to deal with those things, you are using escapism to let off stress and unwind. 

1. change your blog theme. i know it sounds dumb and unrelated. however, having a visual change will make you more inclined to change other things -- and it will start to tell other people in the community that you are able to change. 

2. update your about, kin page, and byf. take things like “don’t follow if you don’t see me as (kintype)”, “no doubles”, and kin-related discourse out of those pages. anything that typically appears in kin cringe comps? take it out. (look through my blog for example of typical cringe comp material.) 

• don’t say “literally me”, “100% me”, “ID” about the kintypes you list. 

• instead of having separate sections for “primary”, “secondary”, “tertiary”, things like that... just say “kintypes” once and list them/insert their pictures. 

• do NOT link to others’ blogs saying “this person is my (canonmate name)!” or “i found my (important canonmate)! 

• whatever your stance on ace discourse... take that out of your pages. i have no idea why, but the kin community is fucking overrun with people thinking that aces/aros aren’t lgbtq+. removing this discourse from your blog will remove you from another common kin community behavior. (it’s totally okay to post ace/aro positivity, but don’t involve yourself in heavy discourse and don’t put “Aces/aros are/aren’t lgbtq!” on your about/kinpage/byf.) 

3. if you list kin friends or kin blogs on one of your pages, consider taking out the links and just describing the friends/blogs. this will distance your blog from the network of kin on here. 

4. instead of requesting “kintype selfcare/positivity” from those kin resource blogs: 

• reblog aesthetics that remind you of the kintypes, but is not labeled as “(kintype) aesthetic”. 

• make some aesthetics yourself based on the kintypes. if you’re tagging, then just use general tags (ie, “kin”, “otherkin”, or “fictionkin”), not specifically the character’s name or the type of animal you identify with. 

• write positive affirmations for yourself, such as “i got enough sleep so this will be a better day!” or “i didn’t lie in bed all day so i feel motivated!” or “i ate something healthy instead of junk food!” 

• if you’re writing affirmations specifically about a kintype, don’t refer to the kintype using “i” or “we”. instead, write “(character) tries their best to fix wrongdoings, so i will too!” or “(character) makes an effort to overcome anxiety, so i’m going to try harder too!” or “(animal) isn’t inherently bad/gross; it’s trying to survive like me!” 

• basically, when writing positivity/affirmations, pick a trait that the kintype has that you want to have too. don’t just say “i have this trait because i am (kintype)!” 

• sorry not sorry, but the overwhelming majority of the positivity on those blogs is useless. it might make you feel better for a couple minutes, but it’s superficial. even if the person running the blog genuinely wants people to feel better, they are still operating under the obligation to give positivity. 

it is not as genuine as it should be. the person doesn’t know who you are, and they might not know a lot about the kintype. the positivity from those blogs is generic, ie, “even if you’ve done some bad things, you’re not a bad person!” You need specifics, which only you can come up with -- because only you know yourself. when something is vague or general, we think deep down that it’s not true. (btw, that’s the same psychology behind the “sounds fake but okay” meme.)

5. if your mutuals get into kin drama, or if you see kin drama on your dash, stay out of it. it does not matter right now if these people are your best friends in the world, because once the drama dies down, your url is still all over those posts. even if the people who started the drama delete the posts, other people have everything saved. the things you said in anger or anxiety or whatever are still on tumblr. and tumblr has an extremely difficult time recognizing that what someone said three months ago doesn’t define what they say now. 

6. unfollow people who have ‘typical cringe comp material’ on their pages and/or people who frequently are involved in drama. 

• if they have “ask to unfollow” on their pages, unfollow anyway. if they harass you about it, block them (and maybe report for... violating community guidelines. or harassment). DON’T PUT THIS ON YOUR PAGES. EVER. FOLLOWING YOU IS NOT A CHORE. MAKING PEOPLE ASK PERMISSION TO UNFOLLOW YOU CAN CAUSE THEM HUGE AMOUNTS OF ANXIETY. IT’S SHITTY AND ENTITLED. DON’T DO IT. 

7. if you’re going to send hate to antis, i can’t stop you, but for fuck’s sake, do that on anon. (”what!?” you say as you read this post. “but don’t antis think anon hate is cowardly!?”) you just don’t want to be known as someone active enough in the community to send off-anon shit. 

8. if i have or another anti/cringe blog has screenshotted your post/page, ask for it to be removed. no promises that other blogs will remove your stuff, but here on kce and over at @only-on-tomblr, we will. having your content up on popular cringe blogs can definitely get you recognized among the community, and you don’t want that. 

“I don’t want to rely so hard on being kin -- I want kin to be a casual thing!” 

1. first off, follow the “i want to get out of the community” list. you don’t have to stop identifying as kin, you just need to distance yourself from that network of over the top, hardcore kin people. 

2. recognize that kin is your coping mechanism. it is okay to use escapism (that’s what kin is tbh) to cope. it is okay to step away from reality, unwind, then go back to reality after a few hours of doing kin stuff/rp. 

3. recognize that any coping mechanism is going to be harmful when you take it too far. when it goes too far, it becomes an obsession. (because i am sure someone’s going to say this, i’m not dragging special interests. those are not the same as coping mechanisms gone wrong and this post does not relate to special interests.) 

4. guess what? you don’t need just one coping mechanism. and because you’re not completely dropping the kintypes, you need to focus your kin-related energy into a creative outlet. what i mean by that is... write about them. draw pictures of them. do commissions, even for people who have the same kintype. not to mention, if you write about/draw them a lot, you are getting so much better at those skills. 

5. optional: it would also help to make lists of your traits and the kintypes’ traits, like in the first section of this post. 

6. as with the other sections, do not refer to the kintypes as “myself”/”i”. 

that’s about it 

Other things you can do 

• write a brief analysis of an episode, movie, chapter, etc in which the character/kintype appears. what does the person/being do and why? how do their actions result in the episode/chapter/game/movie ending? how do other characters react to it? and how is this different from what you would do, right now, if you were in the same situation? (obviously no one has to see it, so doesn’t matter if it sucks) 

• interact with people who have the same kintype so you can become more comfortable with “doubles” and thus be less intense about being kin 

• when you’re watching/reading/playing/listening to new media (’source’), and you begin to have “kinfeels” for someone, step back. put the book down. pause the show or podcast. remind yourself that this is fiction. even if the multiverse does exist, your kintype cannot cross between universes and ‘be’ you. you are most likely projecting onto the character or you are inspired to create a similar character/oc. 

• aaand.... here it comes... oh god. oh no. limit your time on tumblr. do not spend all day on this forsaken hellsite.  

Things to absolutely NOT do 

• post anything like “why did the author put me/kintype in a relationship with a girl!? i’m gay!” all that does is imply that you think you have some kind of ownership over someone else’s character. it makes you look like you want everything to go your way -- and not everything can. i am not saying that to be a jerk. 

• ask people to unfollow you. as i said before (now, i don’t have anxiety so this isn’t from firsthand experience), do you have any idea how much anxiety that causes people? and how shitty a thing it is to do? 

• harass someone over being a double 

• tell them to unfollow/stop interacting because they are a double 

• compare being kin to being trans or nonbinary. for fuck’s sake. there’s no such thing as a “kingender”.

                     - even if your kintype was female in ‘your source’, but wasn’t                                  female in canon... that does not mean you are trans and it does                            not mean the kintype is trans.    

                    - even if you are trans yourself, it has absolutely nothing to do with                        you identifying as kin. they are not related. you are a trans person                        who also happens to be kin.    

                   - things like “canidgender: a gender that feels tough and ready to                           defend, a gender that makes you feel alert, a gender that....” are not                     real. gender is not an emotion. besides, these descriptions have                            nothing to do with gender. 

  • say that you have dysphoria about your kintype. again, if you have dysphoria, it’s because you are transgender/nonbinary. you do not have “species dysphoria” about your astral ears. just because it’s listed on google with a definition does not mean it’s legit. 

• use ‘kin pronouns’ like glitch/glitchs/glitchself. ne/nes/neself. star/stars/starself. it/its. the very concept of kin pronouns suggests that gender is automatically tied to kin. it’s not. and you are not an object. 

• send people hate or get into discourse about headcanons involving your kintype 

• tag art as “me” or “kin” or “id”. even if the artist says it’s okay, avoiding this is another way to distance yourself from a harmful community. if you need/want to keep a tagging system, just tag it with the character’s name or the type of animal. 

• tell someone that they are “your (important canonmate). 

• especially do not tell someone that your characters dated and that you must begin a romantic relationship because of that! 

• insist that someone just has to remember something that you remember! here’s an appropriate exchange on this. 

              you: “do you remember when our kintypes had that huge fight, then                     made up and dated for a few months? we drifted apart and stopped                    dating.” 

              them: “no... i recall something different.” 

               you: “oh. well, that’s okay!” 

comments i just know i’m going to get (they’re useless. don’t post them and don’t send them to me) 

• you’re policing our identities! 

•you can’t dictate how we cope! 

• you can’t take away our fun! 

• how would you know how this stuff works? you’re not kin! 

• ableist! 

• go do something productive! 

• i don’t care. i’m doing these things anyway!

What Gorillaz means to me

This might get a bit deep but I literally have no one to passionately talk about this to and ever since that Demon Dayz performance (which was the first live and full performance I’ve ever seen of them) I just need to spill it out. (if you’re on the app I’m sorry if this is super long.) I’ll try to make this an undercut thing but that’s if i figure out how to.

Anyways, so Gorillaz came into my life during this time and it has helped me so much. Most of the time whenever I find music during these various periods in my life, they only make me sad and feel worse and that’s it, I usually get over them and stop listening to them in a couple weeks, but this band is so different. Not only do they make me calmer with their slower tunes such as To Binge or Empire Ants, instead of making me angrier at the world like other groups I’ve listen to, they also have music that can switch my mood to joy and make me want to dance or even laugh (looking at you Tomorrow Comes Today, the video can either calm me or makes me laugh bc of 2D’s spinning and the band’s edge…idk it’s funny to me). The music just connects to me for any emotion I’m feeling and since I’m a very passionate person when it comes to music, it really affects me in a positive way. 

I started to learn more about the band and Damon and Jamie and I was just so interested in this virtual band concept and think it’s genius. It’s obsessive learning the backstories and everyone’s character traits/developments, the connection of music videos, all of it. It entertains me learning more and more and being a part of it right now is very fun now that I know a good amount of knowledge of the band. 

It’s not those two factors, but the community is so fucking kind.I had made some comments and even art for the band on my personal tumblr and immediately got reblogs and likes, which I never got since I usually just reblog, but I have contributed to other fandoms and they’ve never been as active as this community as been. Soon, I started reading the imagine blogs @gorillazimagines , @gorillaztrashimagines , @stupotimagines , @imagine-2d etc. and I loved it. It just added to my interest and really fed my imagination and creativity until eventually my interest of the music and writing prompts just made me think I should mix the two. (also something to learn about me is whenever I hear a song a scenario or music video idea comes in my mind and it’ll stay there until I make it a thing. I haven’t been able to make any music videos because I’m a broke bish but the idea stays in my mind but anyways,) one day I went to @gorillaztrashimagines and asked them if I should create a blog with that gorillaz song fic idea and she thought it was cool so with that validation I did it. I didn’t know how to explain my idea well so I made this whole complicated system for it and once people understood it the way I do, things went off. I started getting a lot of request and followers and in the matter of a couple weeks I went from 100..200…400..800..etc. followers, and getting messages from people saying they loved the idea of the blog/my writing and every time stuff like that or a new follower milestone or a submission or dm comes I get so happy because I feel so welcomed and like I’m making people happy which I absolutely love doing.

I started talking to people like @melancholy-blog-gorillazimagines , @tyrrant , once @imagine-2d and someone names snorillaz who i currently can’t find (all people who I loved talking to but,as mentioned before in another post, I’m afraid to bother people so I try to initiate a conversation and chicken out) and try to connect with my followers every once and a while (I get scared to bother them too, especially when I have writer’s block and can’t give them what this blog is about lol) and whenever I do I just feel like a part of something great and it brings a lil bit of joy to this shitty bump in my life.

So I’m currently at around 970 followers, almost to 1,000 and that’s absolutely insane to me. I’m very happy that a lot of people love my writing since I never get to practice creative writing because of school so I personally don’t feel like I’m the best at it, even though I love doing it. Anywho, I have that, the music and character’s activeness has made me happier than I would’ve been and gets me through a lot. It drowns out background arguments and distracts me from nerves I get during tests, all that. I have a drive other than trying not to disappoint my parents and go to college, like I have a daily motivation to come here and write and interact, and it’s all because of Gorillaz. I realized that during the Demon Dayz festival.

Like, I was watching this livestream and suddenly realized how in the matter of like 3 months all this has happened to me and I have found multiple passions beyond just loving music from Gorillaz and how they’ve made me happy in numerous ways and I just started getting this feeling in my chest. It may be kind of sad on how emotionally connected I’ve become, I’ve been kindly teased by a couple of friends on how quickly I got into Gorillaz but I couldn’t help it. It’s just a cool concept and it has amazing music and active people, what else could you want? Anyways, I just would like to thank Damon and Jamie for making such an amazing thing and bringing joy to so many people, including myself. I’m sorry this is literally an essay and I’m rambling but that performance Damon gave really made me feel things. I’d also like to thank you guys, for giving me prompts and a reason to get up and go through my days other than making my parents proud. This blog has really given me a reason for myself other than someone else which is something I need right now.

I’m gonna shut up now but yeah, just thank you. That’s what Gorillaz and all of you mean to me, I’m sorry if I’ve weirded you out, I’ll probably cringe and delete this later since that’s what I always do whenever I get deep lmao. But yeah <3

I'm writing my first Jonsa fic and its my 6 month long brain child. I have bleed and sweat for this thing. but I'm really afraid of posting it because of the possible reaction. this isn't a "they know they're cousins" fic. how worried should I be and what should I expect?

Hi Anon and I am so sorry for the late reply, I have been writing and deleting my reply to you countlessly because I want to make sure I say the right things… 

Of course perhaps by now  I am sure you have already posted that fic and if you did, thank the heavens for your lovely contribution - made with love, blood, sweat and even tears maybe. I for one, know that creativity doesn’t always come on butterfly wings or smell like a bunch of roses or like a sweet smelling breeze on a perfect sunny day. No. Sometimes they are harsh and dark with visions and flashbacks from the past, your hidden memories of a time you wished didn’t exist or it may even cause you actual physcial pain and heartache while writing it. So whatever form your inspiration or creativity came in writing the JonSa fic, personal or not, I applaud you for your courage in sharing it with the world. Because mainly, writing, to me, has always been very catharthic and sometimes even stress-relieving and it’s one way for me to escape when things get a little too much. 

Sorry if this gets a bit long and sappy/highly personal but I want to give you a heartfelt answer Anon because you’ve asked me a heartfelt question. How long have you been writing? Since young? Great. Just started? Still good. I have been journaling since I was quite young and when things happened to me, it was one way for me to deal with the trauma of it all. And then throughout my therapy, it sort of became second nature. Before I knew it, if I had a bad day, I’ll write down in my journal. Good day? Write that good shit down too. It helped immensely. 

But that was my personal diary and only for my eyes to read. Not for others. It’s a whole different level and ball game when you’re writing and showing for others to see. You feel things, you think too much, you get insecure and then lastly you shut down and you don’t feel like writing anymore. And hoo boy, don’t I know about them ‘insecurities’! Being a non-native speaker (that’s me) ups that by 1000% because you get so hung up on your grammar and sentence-structure, syntax, semantics and vocabulary etc and sometimes even a simple synonym for a word escapes you and you just cringe at using the same word over and over. And don’t get me started on spell check.. sigh.

To share with you and to wrap this up ( I do have a point to make I promise), I have been a low -key JonSa shipper since I read the books, which was not too long ago in 2012. There were so many parallels between Jon and Sansa and their narratives and the references they make (or how George had written them) were as if they seem they were made to be the (low-key) main couple in the books - subtle but it was there, I felt it even then. Then of course, S6 came and I was blown away by it all, like my dreams and prayers were answered and then the feels got a little too much so I ended up on Tumblr to seek out like minds and by God, there were so many! And they were nice too! Later on, I was introduced to AO3 and the amazing talents that make up the JonSa fandom. Can you imagine my glee, knowing that I wasn’t the only one who shipped JonSa and meeting others who did, who also happened to be super nice and supportive ppl? 

And so, thanks to a certain Valentine’s Day challenge earlier this year, I decided, ok I will take part and do some writing. But Anon, it wasn’t easy for me to start either, I still have the countless drafts of those fics stored in my writing app still and I was terribly insecure about my writing (and I still am)that I had one or two sleepless nights mulling over whether I should post or not. I mean, I’m basically showing to the world how mediocre I am and yes, I expected to be ignored or even deleted. But it wasn’t the case in the end. And yes, the attention motivated and encouraged me to write some more and I began to really like it because ultimately, I realised that I love my OTP (JonSa) so much that they opened up this well of creativity and inspiration inside of me I didn’t know I had. So now, I still write, whether insecure, bad grammar or not, mediocre or not - because of my love and dedication to JonSa, not so much for the world or the fandom now, but if I ever write anything this time it usually is for me, first. I mean thats what fanfiction means right? You write because you love this show/movie/tv couple so much.

So to answer your question on what to expect - What do you want the reaction to be? If you wrote it for yourself, then I say don’t worry about the reaction from the fandom. I personally have not read a fic I didn’t like - maybe not my cup of tea but it was still well written and there were many others who liked it. If my experience is any indication, and if we’re in the same JonSa fandom 😉 then you can expect a lot of love, support and kind words as well as reblogging on tumblr! There are so many amazing JonSa blogs here in the tumblr community who will gladly share your contribution with other JonSa fans. I know one - @jonsa-creatives and they are great fans of Jonsa and dedicated supporters of the artists and writers in the Jonsa fandom 😉 Sure there may be some anon hate mail here and there but ignore them. In fact, anon hate for posting your fic is one way to say ‘well, looks like you’ve made it’ because somehow you got some attention AND good or bad publicity is still publicity. Though I would suggest you to enable ‘moderating comments’ when posting on AO3. 

So Anon, I hope this super long sappy reply has allayed your fears and insecurities a little and gave you a pat on the back or a nudge in the right direction. I hope to read your fic soon! Sounds absolutely lush!

today, february 10th, 2017, marks the one-year anniversary of this blog. that is absolutely unreal!!! i have compiled a list of “thank you” paragraphs that came from my heart. here is the first:

to you (my followers and mutuals): thank you for staying with me on this journey from when i first started as a pastel haikyuu blog to now! all of you have encouraged me to become the person i am today, and i am so thankful for every single one of you.

you’re all such a ginormous part of my life, and you don’t even realize it. i get notifications on my phone (which i carry around everywhere) whenever someone likes/reblogs my posts, sends me an ask/message, or follows me, so i see everything. i take these notifications as reminders that someone out there is validating me and actually likes what i post and/or wants to interact with me. it gives me warm feelings inside and motivates me to keep blogging!

in addition, i love having you all to fall back on. i remember when i posted about failing one of my math exams, and i was (lovingly) bombarded with messages, asks, and replies filled with positivity and encouragement for the next test. that meant so much to me that i literally cried tears of joy. also, i received so many kind messages when i posted my hiatus post a few days ago; it meant the whole world to me. whenever i feel down, i always think about every nice thing that each of you have said to me and i become filled with contentment. you all are constantly on my mind & i am so grateful for having all of you in my life.

again, thank you so much for sticking with me. tumblr is such a big part of my existence and brings me so much happiness and enjoyment -- it wouldn’t if it weren’t for you: the people on this website. despite all of my flaws, like not being active and taking very long to reply, you’ve stayed with me. i have so much love for every single one of you. i wish i could give you a big hug (or a nice high-five/thumbs up if you’re not comfortable with hugs)!! here’s to another year <3

kate @gaysngreys​: i first met you at fanime 2016 -- you were the first cosplayer who i saw and thought, “oh my god. i wanna cosplay and look as amazing as them!” that was one of the most memorable fanime experiences for me because it was then when i seriously thought about cosplaying. thank you for being a mutual and for sticking with me for so long! i appreciate and admire you very much (nd you know that time when i visited your uni? it was because my sister applied there & she wanted to look at the campus -- it’s been on my mind a lot like “shit man. it’s hella creepy that i just showed up to kate’s university” but i swear that i didn’t intend to be!) thank you for all of the inspiration & memes you’ve given me :’)
