Fanfic Writer Ask Game 👻 - What is your wildest headcanon?

In my main verse, I'm having Remy as a former occasional sex worker which is something I grew very fond of by now. Sex work is work, and aside from the necessary and important information about its dangers, we also need far more good representation in media of it out there, not least to fight the worrying rise of purity culture - stemming a lot from fascism - in the last few years. It's one of the few good things Whedon ever did in the shape of Firefly (ignoring that of course he'd had plans to fuck up later, too). Anyway, that said, I'm giving Remy a very independent and positive spin on this part of his life as well, while of course acknowledging the problematic sides often coming with the job as soon as crime is involved. Remy is both unapologetic and without regrets in that regard in my verse, having gone about the job very Finnick Odair, without the whole force angle though. It's been very fun working Remy into the verse of the first two movies in general, and getting Marie and him together, and this was definitely one of the most helpful angles, exploring how understanding she is about everything and kicking his ass for even thinking she wouldn't be; how absolutely uninterested he is about pushing anything physical in their relationship not least because he's very chill about sexuality after that part of his past; and how chill and patient they go about anything sexual with time. I loved doing that arc a lot.

🦋 - Which character is your favorite to write?

Exploring movie!Scott has been a project of mine for about 20 years, so I guess that's always a safe bet. It's one of my favorite pastimes, working a lot of his comic history and details into his movie persona and giving him the depth the Fox-movies didn't have the time and/or interest in providing. I am also very fond of doing the same for movie!Logan, so that would be a close second.

🦈 - Which character is the toughest to write?

Again, since I'm only acknowledging X1 and X2 as my canon, I don't have a lot to work with for some characters, not least with regard to Ororo. Coming up with worthy storylines for her for my verse always proved challenging, and I still feel I need to give her a more rewarding arc at some point.

💌 - Is there a favorite trope you like to write?

I mean, I end up writing literally hundred thousands of words every whumptober, so I guess my hurt/comfort addiction is not really a secret. I blame it on loving all those doctor series on TV as a kid.

A few thoughts on that if I may ✍️

The first time she snuck in your room, she convinced you to watch a movie with her. It started out innocently at first. After all, this was something you would regularly do, but usually not with just the two of you. As you watched the screen, her hand rested on your thigh, caressing the skin. It would inch up closer, painfully slow, and you couldn't deny the ache in your lower stomach building. Your thighs pressed together tightly.

A purple bruise was still fresh on your neck, and your hair was wild.

Wanda looked to you and the to Natasha, her fists clenching at her side as she stepped further into the living room.

I love when ppl bring this up bc I feel this to MY CORE!! and it’s so serious for me as a fanfictiom and tumblr enthusiast!! i’m not judging anyone when i say this either! but I will never be completely okay or comfortable w the fact that there is so much like SO MUCH real and scary sexual violence towards women in the world(to the point where it’s a known and big a problem) and i’m expected to like being sexually degraded?? like ofc there’s nothing wrong w it if you feel ok w it and are fine but like why is it suddenly vanilla to not what to feel inferior to A MAN?

there have been unfortunate times where i’ve stumbled across a smut fic that looks good and i’ve ended up crying and blocking the user bc they didn’t properly put the content warnings and I feel genuinely disgusting and gross. it’s kinda embarrassing to admit bc i’m grown but like- sorry it scares me.

tagging fics properly should always be a high priority for smut/fic writers. while yes, we can’t always predict what’s going to trigger someone, it never hurts to be careful and sensitive when writing about a scenario that involves violence or gore or trauma etc. etc. im sorry that happened to you, anon :(

+ i would never kink shame anyone for what they’re into, but i def have found myself becoming more and more disinterested in writing about femme!reader(s) being subjected to aggressive male dominance in my work bc it’s just not what im super into these days. and i’d be lying if i said the current political climate and state of our society/uprise in femicide right now wasn’t affecting that.

i do find it hot from time to time though, and i also find myself feeling that it’s an interesting trope/theme to write about. a lot of people also find it cathartic sometimes to engage in/produce this sort of content because it can allow you to fictionally take control of a type of situation (by controlling what happens in the fic) that you maybe didn’t have control of irl in the past. those who know, will know.

that being said, obviously people who enjoy and/or write about male!dom!character x sub!reader fics are not inherently misogynistic or enjoy being treated with disrespect by men (or others) outside of the bedroom. it’s all fantasy and fiction at the end of the day ! and we’re all just trying to have fun and indulge:)

send me a made-up fic title and i’ll tell you what i would write to go with it Over the Mountains of the Moon

I just realized I also had this still in my inbox which is embarrassing enough but I blame on the Holidays and being sick. Besides there's only one thing this title can lead to right now, and the inspiration well has been slightly dry there in the last few months thanks to all the shit the comics are pulling on Jean, Scott and Logan. Obviously the story for this title would be very much a Krakoa throuple thing though. Maybe I'll wait until the current comic writers are finally bored of using Scott as their currently favorite torture porn toy and actually give him something else to do again. And no, the latest FoX issue can't make up for shelving him for torture for half a year, simply for a lack of interest and/or other ideas. And then I'll fix this whole thing with fic as a whole, instead of just in parts as I did in several oneshots so far. The current writers and the bigot side of fandom can hate it all they want: The throuple was confirmed clearly by Jean at the latest at last summer's Gala, and someone who actually cares about these characters needs to write them something consistent and respectful for once. But again, this won't be happening for a while as I'm waiting on updates (still not actively reading comics), until this whole disgusting current run finally treats the characters I love with something like consistency and dignity again. Because writing just one fixit won't do at this point. Not to mention I'm actually at home in movieverse anyway and this would only be a side project. But I feel it would fix a lot of things for me that were broken by one comic writer after another lately shitting on Scott, so I'm keeping it in mind.

You brushed his hands away from his lap, taking over that spot instead as he let out a small protest as he glanced towards the game in front of him. You sent him a sheepish grin as you rested your own hands against the nape of his neck.

"Do you want to talk about it?" You asked him softly, moving your face so that he was unable to avoid your pestering eyes. He sighed deeply as a hint of irritation crossed over his features.

You watched as the afternoon sun dipped in through the curtains, bouncing off of his warm skin and giving his usual dark eyes a golden hue. You admired him for a moment, thinking that you were so lucky to have someone as handsome as him.

You moved forward, brushing your lips lightly against the moles that were decorated near his left eye. You traced your lips down, moving to the two moles that were on his cheek. Then you danced your lips across the freckles that were brushed across the bridge of his nose.

You lingered for a bit longer against his nose, admiring the way it sloped and how it felt against your lips. He sighed, but you could tell it wasn't out of irritation. You could feel his body relaxing, becoming less stiff as you continued your movements.

You peppered your lips across his rosy cheeks, then down to his chin. You kissed each freckle, each mole diligently as you tried to keep a mental tally of just how many he had decorated across his face.

"Okay," You could hear the grin in his tone as he gripped your waist softly and you were fairly certain he was rolling his eyes at you, "Have you had enough?"

"No," You mused, grinning as you gripped his strong jaw and finally brought your lips against his own. They were slightly chapped, a little dry as you dragged your lips against his sweetly. You squeezed at his chin softly, his lips curling into a smile as you pulled away, "Now I'm done."

this is from the 2007 qatar post-qualifying press conference. obviously it's not just the three of them given colin edwards is like. right in the middle. (and *checks notes* gábor talmácsi is also there.) but still a photo of historical significance... casey's first ever race with the ducati (which he very much wins), plus valentino with his then-current teammate edwards and then-future teammate jorge... it's a bit unclear when jorge was actually signed - lin jarvis implies it was in 2006 but if that's the case, edwards seemed to be under the impression for a little too long that he wasn't going to lose that seat. anyways! look at wee nineteen year old jorge lorenzo, look at his utter absence of anything approaching a smile... look at him

misano 2007 post-qualifying press conference and a very powerful photo imo... some nicely contrasting vibes here, good composition... jorge had already been announced as valentino's teammate, and the title is already more or less in casey's pocket (even more so after casey won here and valentino had a mechanical dnf lol - they'd basically brought the race back to the calendar for valentino so this was. not ideal! incidentally still the last race with an entirely non-european podium.)

not much from 2008 tbh. casey and vale took turns to flop in the first bit of the season and then jorge started crashing his brains out. anyway these are from indianapolis, at a time when jorge was just about in the process of getting his act together while casey had crashed in his last three races (including laguna where he picks up the bike to finish p2). quite fond of this race actually, bit of a mess due to the weather and ends up getting red-flagged

pre-event presser before mugello, where valentino had won seven consecutive times headed into the 2009 race. if I'm valentino I low-key never show my face again after the le mans catastrophe but whatever it's fine

anyway mugello is another wet-ish race that valentino ended up playing too conservatively because of the le mans horror show. so casey wins! also jorge beats valentino! old man's washed! just about scams his way onto the podium

italian press weren't particularly kind to valentino for having the audacity to lose mugello. they said it was over... he was finished... imagine only winning a race seven times in a row. was he even trying any more? loser

valentino bounced back at catalunya 2009 in highly dramatic fashion (y'know, it's the one with the last corner overtake). moment of deep historical significance in which jorge pulls valentino down from the podium to give him a hug

first race where casey was really struggling with his mystery illness... idk if I were valentino or jorge I'd maybe check if the third guy on the podium isn't about to drop dead but. well. professional athletes, never really been known for their empathy. they did clap along with the journalists in the post-race press conference when the moderator thanked casey for actually making it to the presser, so that's something?

anyway the race itself is pretty boring (as unfortunately are many of the races that year), but it's valentino's 100th win so good on him ig. he got out a special banner with photos of all his wins, which would've been an absolute pain to lug around if he'd not immediately won the next race after his 99th

cute. unfortunately, this is now very much mystery illness period for casey... heroic effort to get himself to the podium but not much more was possible at the time

laguna 2009 post-quali presser. jorge is sitting for the photo, because even though he'd bagged pole, he had a massive highside right at the end of qualifying... hurt both his ankles and his shoulder. he'd also had a horrendous highside right at the start of laguna '08, did a good job to banish his gremlins in order to win at the circuit in 2010

qatar 2010... can't have been after the race because casey crashed :/ valentino grabbed the win, before immediately injuring his shoulder in a motocross accident. all went downhill from there, really. damn the eruption of eyjafjallajökull we were robbed

laguna 2010 podium, most memorable as 'that time when they accidentally played the italian anthem rather than the spanish one and valentino thinks it's extremely funny' (clip here). extremely poor quality photo shows casey found it funny too. very #them thing to happen to them. valentino buddy the cap's supposed to remain off for the duration of the anthem

this is very much post-leg break btw, still pretty cordial with each other given some of the stuff they'd been saying about each other to the press during that period lol (not casey/jorge, they were basically fine by this point)

this was casey's fourth consecutive phillip island win (of six total)... isn't that just like. an incredibly cool circuit to be goated at. does mean the fight for the victory was generally quite boring - though the battles behind casey weren't always exactly thrilling either, so you can blame that on the era too. 2008 and 2010 has decent action behind casey, 2009 is the closest casey was pushed for the win and 2011 at least has a bit of weather-related jeopardy

What does Mau’s wardrobe look like?

If we're speaking about furniture, Maura's wardrobe is very simple. She and Augusto literally live in a very cheap, small and cramped apartment. The furniture there is just the same. Something like this, but even simpler:

If we're speaking about what she wears, Maura's clothes mostly aren't hers — these are clothes given to her by her aunts and neighbors, so thank God some of them even match in colors/shapes not to look too awkward. I put everything under the cut.

Mau has:

Four skirts (brown, beige, bottle green (teal) and warm navy one for winter).

Four blouses (coral with white lace, turquoise with white embroidery, yellow/amber with 3/4 sleeves, yellow/amber with half-sleeves).

Pink sweater-blouse for autumn/winter with 3/4 sleeves.

Cream-white knitted cardigan for autumn/winter.

Two yellow/amber everyday dresses (one with flower embroidery, the other is more like a gown).

A bottle green / teal evening dress.

A black winter coat, a black hat and a green scarf that you, my dear friend @acesandocs, and Ace gifted her.

Five pairs of shoes: (brown shoes, cream-white shoes (I've drawn them with coral and turquoise parts, but that's not true :D), yellow/amber heels, grayish-brown heels, autumn/winter half boots).

A cream-white nightgown.

Mau also was drawn with Rocky in some other outfits (coral flowery evening dress, wedding dress drawn by amazing @aghostnamedclamity and a dress-i-ll-show-you-soon), but I don't consider them canon for her, I guess? Maura can't afford neither a wedding dress, nor an evening dress of such quality as a coral one or that one which I'll show you soon. But who knows? Everything is possible. :3
