I saw it in your tag game post that you're also fond of the Apollo-Heracles conflict 👀 for a myth that appears in only a couple of sources, it sure has a lot of presence in the vase paintings (no seriously, everytime I think I've seen the last of it, I find ten more)

SO do you have any favorites among the paintings that represent this story??

I also think it's extremely interesting that it's a story so popularly portrayed by vase paintings and in such a variety of ways!! It's certainly one of the stories that gets left out of written compilation of Heracles' legend a bit (which is a shame, I think it's a fantastic story) but Apollo had a very peculiar relationship with Heracles in general that I just kind of find amazing (and very, very funny).

Apollo is not a god with any legitimate grudge against Heracles, but he does argue with the mortal a bit like he argues with his favourite brothers 😂Part of why I love the story of Apollo and Heracles fighting over the tripod so much is that it is such a little brother thing for Heracles to be upset with the proclamation his elder brother has given him and so, he throws a great fit, taking up the chair and declaring that he'll just give himself a better prophecy! And Apollo, instead of being a marginally professional big brother, decides to fight him for it until their father has to break up their cat-fight. Like was that not just the plot of the Homeric Hymn to Hermes? Is this not exactly how Apollo treated Hermes when he was a child and now those two are inseparable? 💀

Because of this, my favourite vase paintings tend to be the ones that highlight the personal squabbling between Apollo and Heracles the most. There are some very elaborate ones that have the full host of them - Athena, Heracles, Apollo, Artemis, usually a dog and a doe, I've even seen a couple that had birds and plants etched on them, but the simplest ones that show Heracles about to bonk Apollo with his club out of frustration or depict Heracles nyooming away from Apollo while Apollo (presumably) yells curses about how he's going to fling Heracles head first into Tartarus for daring to take his things? Yeah, those are the premium big brother/little brother things I'm looking for.

can i just be totally honest for just a sec. this past year hasnt been my favorite. it hurt a Lot and i really didnt think id be as happy as i am when the end of the year came around. it was not the best year by far for me. kinda nothing has been Great since i was like 12 honestly. But also i've learned a Lot about myself this year. I've healed, hurt, loved, laughed, everything in between, and will continue to do all that because thats life and im living (!!!!). I'm about to have a birthday that i didnt even think i was going to get to see like 4 years ago so. yeah. happy new year everyone and im really really happy im here <3 thank you all

hi :') so because i make a ton of planymphia art and all my most popular posts are planymphia related, i just felt the need to say that i'm going to be taking an indefinite break from making art of them/posting about them, specifically plane jane. no need to read this unless you want to!!!

sooo yes this is partly because of her diddy tweet that IMO was very poor taste regardless of her stance on diddy himself but it's also just something i've been thinking about since the chappell roan incident earlier this year?

i don't believe plane is a horrible person nor do i believe someone is a horrible person if they continue to support her after this. this is way more about the fact that she has a very specific sense of humor that often tends to make light of things other people don’t consider appropriate (like the diddy situation or chappell roan's not wanting to be photographed without her consent) and i'm realizing i just don't like that very much, full stop. to be totally transparent it also doesn't help that SOME- not all!!!- of her fans will defend her to their last breath regardless of what she says/does and act like others are being overly sensitive for being offended by her humor. no one i'm friends with on here is like this as far as i know which i'm very grateful for but these people definitely do exist :/

don't get me wrong, it makes me sad to take a step back from planymphia because i've met so many amazing people through this side of tumblr and i really do like making content for them (i literally just finished a longterm art piece based off of a fic about them!! the timing could not be worse!!!). ultimately though i just can't justify spending all this time and effort making fan content based around someone that i personally don't even like that much at this point, especially when there are so many other wonderful queens/ships for me to support

in conclusion... i don't really want to associate myself with planymphia/plane for the time being. i don't know what i'll do with my in-progress and planned WIPs, maybe i'll either recycle them for another ship or come back to them someday, i'm not sure yet. in the meantime please do not come in my replies or my askbox arguing either in support of or against plane <3 thank you for understanding <3

No you guys you have to read to the part where they reveal one of the most common reasons the companies are bringing them back:

Toothacre also notes some irony in one of the common reasons companies are bringing back DEI policies. “Thirty-three percent said it was harder to hire diverse talent. What did they think was going to happen when they eliminated all of their DEI initiatives? And so they inadvertently created an environment that said, ‘Hey, we don’t care if you are comfortable here or not,’” she said.

Note that about 75% of all the responding companies say that their policy on DEI initiatives is ultimately driven by the bottom line. Do not ever expect a company to behave like a human person; at their cores, corporations are creatures of pure profit. Exceptions to the norm are typically privately owned rather than publicly traded and even then you're basically at the mercy of the collective judgment of a super rich guy or, worse, family with varying levels of generational insulation from any perspective held by someone who has to work for a living.

Anyway. Back to the article. A solid third of companies that rolled back their DEI initiatives are already bringing them back (33%). 21% of that total are doing it "quietly" by sneaking back the submission forms, changing the language, and hoping no one notices they caved, and 12% are openly admitting they made a mistake (like companies normally do when they alter policy). Of the rest? Only 40% of all companies that destroyed DEI initiatives aren't currently discussing or considering any new DEI investment. The remaining 27% of companies that cut back DEI are in various stages of internal discussion about restoring DEI initiatives.

Y'all, people are pushing back. One third of these DEI coward companies reported collective pushback from employees strong enough that they had to take notice. Two thirds of the total companies experienced noticeable consequences of rolling back DEI investment—and for the most part, these consequences weren't coming from boycotts. (These were least likely to be cited as consequences at 9% of companies reporting, but certainly capable of nailing a company in the profits — ask Target.) but from people doing the hard, uncomfortable, risky feeling work of speaking up at their workplaces, turning down job offers or quitting and saying why, changing jobs or organizing unions or agitating for these roles to come back. I loved this episode so much y'all. Seeing Claire again 😭😭 AAHHHH!! The Parknik wedding :'DDD AAHHHHH!!! Hannah getting help :')) 🥰🥰🥺!! And everything else :')). It was such a great episode, a really good second to last episode <33. Setting up the ending and having enough drama but still managing to bring closure to everyone's storylines <33. I'm glad everyone's okay (ignoring the last two minutes) this time, but I can't really say that till after next time xd. If I get to lol. But yeah, amazing episode :'DD 🥰🥰🥰.

Overall, I really loved this episode. It was so good!! And it went over everyone's storylines, especially the OGs, but it still felt natural. Like, I could tell they were doing it (some times more than others, some times more in character/fitting with the plot/moment than others), but each of them felt unique, not just the same rehashing tactic each time :'D. I noticed that while writing this review and really enjoyed it <33. I think everyone's getting really good endings (even if I'm still salty about Asher and forever will be - angry and sad, straight up, actually xdd). Also, the cases were really cool this episode :'D. Well, really, one was Claire, but you know lol. Anyway, it was a really great episode 🥰🥰❤️. I'm gonna miss this darn show so much :')). I'm not ready for them to leave me xdd 😭🥺🥺💔❤️. Still, a great episode that everyone absolutely slayed in, characters and actors, no matter what they were doing :) <3. Also the unconditional love theme was just amazing 😭😭❤️. So beautiful :') <333.
