Okay i may have gone too far considering the fact that i legitimately just wrote a scene of Urbosa discussing Gerudo tax policy

The remainder of her council continued with its prior discussion on tax reforms. The increased requirements on the Gerudo military, both from the imminent return of Calamity Ganon and from increased Yiga Clan activity in recent months, had demanded a significant increase in the number of soldiers. Paying those additional soldiers had quickly left the treasury wanting; conscription had been deemed to be less acceptable to the population than a tax increase.

“Personal income taxes have become stifling,” Varasi began. Urbosa rarely questioned her advice on matters of economics. “Any further increases on all but the wealthiest Gerudo are likely to cause a recession.”

“Tariffs, then?” Ossor offered.

“We are already at the highest level the King will allow,” Varasi answered. “Even then, we are considering a decrease in tariffs with the Rito and Zora in order to revitalize our economy. An increase would only cause stagflation.”

“You say that a tax on only the wealthiest Gerudo would be effective?” Urbosa began. “Perhaps an annual tax of one two-hundredth of a net worth in excess of fifty thousand rupees would be in order?”

Varasi nodded. “That would generate some of the desired revenue without too much risk of a recession, yes.”

“And what of corporate wealth? Will they not merely move their money into a corporation?” Ossor asked.

“The corporate tax rate will be raised to twenty-three hundreths of their profits. That should dissuade anyone from trying that particular trick. Consider it done,” Urbosa declared.

ok I decided instead of making a coherent post i'm going to make this into a botw character wishlist

these are things i'd like to see more in fanfic, and if you have a fanfic that includes one or more of these then feel free to link it etc

general principle behind a lot of these is that I need to see urbosa being an independent leader and character apart from her role in botw as zelda's mother figure and the late queen's friend, or if it explores her strange relationship with the hyrulean royal family in regards to the gerudo being a mostly independent province.

urbosa's first encounter with the yiga and a more detailed explanation of why she hates them other than them being "traitors"

urbosa's rule and policies. do her people respect her? is there division among them? what kind of power does she have in her role as chieftain?

I don't remember exactly where vah naboris was unearthed, but hey what did she think of that.

also on that note. how much does she know about the divine beast's innerworkings. i want to see her operating it in more detail than what's given to us in canon. also, if the divine beast SOS's are used canonically, this does suggest that the divine beasts can communicate with something outside them -- perhaps a control tower or other divine beasts? silly morse code groupchat??

it's also implied that the champions have a spiritual connection to their divine beasts. what does that look like? why are the divine beasts divinity? does this make their champions divine?

urbosa's relationship with rhoam! as long as it's actually somewhat complex and not just "she hates him" get the fuck outta here with the rhoam hate that's her best friend's husband and we KNOW rhoam misses his wife a lot I think they should grieve together but also there should be tension

the rito seem to have a lot of cultural differences from hylians and seem somewhat hostile to them in some cases (age of calamity namely.) what does urbosa think of this/how does it affect her relationship with revali

Maybe Night Glider for Luna? She gives ponies sweet dreams. I would maybe suggest Milky Way as well, but Night Glider also can blink and make stars dance in the sky, so maybe she fits Luma more

But she is a earth pony, with galaxy cuitemark, so I don't know how that would transfer over

!!! Night Glider seems perfect. Especially with the white hair, love that on blue ponies.

Since Luna is an Alicorn, she wouldn't be as crippled in magic as everyone else, she could become Night Glider but remain Alicorn (but for now, she shall stay healthy and take charge)

sorry i have way too many good things to talk about with this little gremlin brother of mine sjdjdhhsjejkekjdkss

ok you see this volume cover yeah? (aside from me punching a wall over how everyone's in here together) it gives a good taste of how every dexholder uses fly on their 'mon - i won't go into detail about how each kid got their 'mon but the way they were picked up on is really unique from the others.

red has an aerodactyl (mf carries red like a baby)

blue has a charizard (the most practical way to fly a pokemon ig),

green has a jigglypuff (which! actually is just a balloon with helium iirc, and she doesn't like flying types - again, won't explain why but each kid has a good reason for their preference),

yellow (pokespe-exclusive dexholder! very sweet kid) has a butterfree (makes yellow look like a cute fairy which is so adorable),

silver has a murkrow (probably the most badass one, look at how silver poses)

crystal has a natu (looks a little funny how this round ass bird can carry her but I respect that)

and here's gold....

the thing that really cements this is the actual dynamic between mantines and remoraids, it's like how certain species of fish has a beneficial relationship with larger animals like sharks (scrapping for leftovers on the bigger animal) and it's most definitely applicable with the mantine and remoraid, they have a commensalism relationship. thank you science for teaching me that gotdamn.....

BFD1 summary for the WIP game, please!

I of course started writing in the planning file 🙄 I decided Chopper could find a way to drive a speeder by himself, so he could launch the gliders in Jedi Night and Zeb could go along on the rescue mission. And then I wanted defected-sorta-Inquisitor!Kallus to be there too. Also it's present tense, it doesn't have any sexy bits so far, and I don't know the ending, which is not how I generally write things these days...

Kanan babbles something about how he can’t think straight when it’s about Hera. That's always been true, but today, it sounds like an excuse. This isn't the first time Hera's gotten in trouble, and she trusts Kanan, not the kids or even Zeb, to get her out of it.

Zeb won’t be able to talk Kanan out of going, not when the Jedi's sure he understands what the Ashla's telling him. And if whatever the crew is about to get into can take out Kanan, then Zeb's not going to be much help on his own. He told Kallus he wouldn’t risk contacting him unless it’s an emergency. The atmosphere in this camp is pretty damn emergent.

The flying foxes was a fair shot fired, but the sugar gliders shot was not. Sugar gliders are just as capable of gliding as flying squirrels, and just as incapable of true flight

But I would also like to say australia's endemic flying squirrel is actually called a squirrel glider (which is NOT another name for sugar glider, they're different species). Just to confuse things further.

And as if that was not enough.

According to this study, "sugar gliders" kept in captivity in the USA may actually not be sugar gliders, either. DNA samples compared across native sugar glider populations and captive populations suggest they're actually Krefft's Gliders.

Anyway, this thread is why tumblr is better than facebook. if you're wrong on facebook people just believe you (and then repeat it endlessly and dig in if anyone tries to correct them).
