4: When scared, does your OC fight, flee, freeze, or fawn?

Ikki runs. It's in Ikki II, but yeah, she runs away. That's both in terms of literal physical danger and also in terms of just running away from her social anxiety and going off and licking rocks in the wilderness. Not that she minds licking rocks, of course. She's also run away from some stuff that's getting into spoiler territory. Honestly, she doesn't realize it, but Ikki just wants to be able to stop running and settle down somewhere.

7: What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?

Would be easier to answer how the fic has changed; Ikki's a relatively recent creation of mine, dating back to July of this year, and she only got integrated into the fic in August. For reference, Karranis and Inali date back to October 2020. Probably her biggest change was being taken from her own standalone character to being included in The Second Calamity, which means that now instead of just having a vague past, I've been able to tie her in a lot more with Inali.

14: How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?

Honestly, she kind of doesn't. If she could just go out into the wilderness, do her job, and then come back every so often to deliver her results without being noticed, she'd be happy. If she does have to be seen by others, she just wants to be respected and for her not to turn things awkward. While she wants to be respected, her own self-doubt doesn't really let her accept this, it's a whole mess of self-sabotage. Ikki doesn't really realize that she's getting in her own way a lot.

Inali fights. Kheel actually has a small scar on his wing from the last time he got creepy with her, she carries a dagger with her for exactly this reason. She's also got 6 weapons on her feet, but yeah, most of the other Rito know not to fuck with Inali unless you really think you can take her. She won't go down easily.

I would think so? She's already had experience with a rock nerd in the form of Ikki, so I'm not particularly new territory for her, and she tries her best to be agreeable courtesy of some internalized misogyny. Well, as long as you're not a creep. She gets along with Revali and Karranis--she can get along with anyone.

15: Does your OC have a faceclaim? If so, who?

Well, given that she's a Rito, she doesn't exactly have a normal human face for me to faceclaim. She's meant to be based off of one of the blue morph budgies. As for voiceclaims... hm, I haven't got an explicit voiceclaim for her but I have been imagining her with Emilia Clarke's voice as Daenerys Targaryen so do with that info what you will.

22: What character alignment would you consider your OC to be?

Hmmm, this one's a toughie, especially without getting into spoilers. I'd hazard neutral good if we're going with the D&D alignment chart? Inali absolutely wants to be doing the right thing, she's definitely good. She's trying to act lawful good, but it's not working out for her and leaning into the lawful side of things is making her do things that she really doesn't want to be doing. That's the most specific I can be without getting into some pretty massive spoilers. So yeah, I'll say that she's neutral good.

Do you have a specific lyric or quote which you associate with your oc?

so I don’t have a particular lyric or quote cause she’s so new, but I do listen to a LOT of phonk music whenever I draw the rito (Milap included) so here’s a couple songs I listen to on repeat while drawing: Eu Sento Gabu (super slowed) - PXLWYSE : Devil Eyes - ZODIVK : Void (super slowed) - isq : Dance - THIRST [[all of these names I got off spotify]] these definitely formed the basis of her personalities’s vibe

Is your oc self-destructive? In what ways?

yes absolutely they are. though I would say less in the traditional “ugh I just need to work hard and be the best!” work-a-holic and more the “I literally chose a profession that is notably dangerous for my species and idgaf.” He has many ways of self destruction, but they all feel minimal and not blatant. Not taking care of his feathers. working in a soot-filled environment with his sensitive rito lungs. often forgetting his own body’s limitations and harming himself physically because of it. One of the few ways he doesn’t self destruct is with food and sleep! They actually take care of their dietary needs and enjoys food quite a bit! and she also knows she’ll be an ASSHOLE without sleep, so she prioritizes that!

If you met your oc, would the two of you get along?

I think in a scenario where we were being introduced by like a friend’s friend thing, yes. We’d get along amicably. but we wouldn’t be friends, simply because we don’t have anything in common. She & I share a pettiness and jealousy so shit-talking would be about our only bonding experience haha! also she would absolutely look down on me for being younger than her. I don’t think she’d take me seriously at all. (even though I would totally want to hang out with her and think she’s so cool)

What emotion is the hardest for your OC to process? How about express?

hmm I’d say grief.

Medoh holds a lot of guilt in her heart for things she feels like she can control. When she was a medicine woman and dealt with death under her hands, she shut off any semblance of care she could have for others because she couldn’t deal with not being able to save them. After she became a warrior she continued to cut herself off from her ability to grieve for others or even herself. Focusing instead on the goal ahead of them to defeat the Ganondorf. It’s only after Tanuk dies and she can’t run anymore, weighed down by the overpowering all consuming weight of his loss that she is forced to look at her inability to accept loss in her life. and she still doesn’t cope well. Isolating herself away on her Divine Beast until eventually withering away into nothingness.

Aight sorry for the late reply. I should probably also do an intro post for Inali, but maybe I'll save that for after her first chapter/if I get art of her. I'm very glad to see interest in Inali though!

14: How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?

Fundamentally, Inali wants to be respected. She does feel that at least Revali and Karranis give her the respect she deserves, but among the rest of the Rito Warrriors? The problem is that, like in much of the rest of Hyrule, the patriarchy is alive and well in Rito Village. Kheel, the person who was Third Warrior before Karranis replaced him with Inali, has been spreading rumors ever since that the only reason she has the position is because she's been sleeping with him. (To be clear: she hasn't been.)

Getting into some specifics: she's pretty much Karranis' only friend and Revali's only friend outside of the other Champions, she's where she wants to be with those two (though she might prefer that Karranis not be so dependent on her). Kheel... she'd honestly prefer if he just forgot about her, given that he can get a bit creepy when not trying to spread lies about her. She actually grew up in Tabantha Village and knew Ikki when they were both fledglings, and honestly, even if Inali isn't gung-ho on geology, she does miss her. She actually still has a few bryozoan and brachiopod fossils somewhere in her roost, though she thinks she's lost them.

21: Does your OC have any illnesses or disorders? How do they handle it?

So as of right now, Inali is hale and healthy. She's also pretty much the one functional person in the upper echelon of the Rito Warriors and is honestly half-responsible for taking care of Karranis. Now, there is something... but that's going to be a spoiler for Inali I (which has not been put on AO3 yet), so I'll leave it under the cut.

When Karranis is doing his coup to take power in Rito Village, Inali loses an eye while fighting for him. She absolutely leaves it covered, despite Karranis' insistence that she leave it uncovered; to him, he can't imagine being able to simply cover up what's happened. Given her loss of depth perception, she'd also ideally like to spend a lot of time at the Flight Range relearning safe flight and archery, but of course, with a war going on and her expected to be in command, that might not be possible for her. It does, at least, earn her some level of respect among the die-hard Karranisists.

What is your Milap's fatal flaw? Are they aware of this flaw?

I would say his fatal flaw is that he doesn't value interpersonal relationships all that well. He's a loner and doesn't see the *point* of having friends. Very pessimistic socially. It drives him to work hard but makes keeping companions difficult, on top of him being abrasive. I think he's aware of it on some level but just doesn't give a shit

9: Do you have a specific lyric or quote which you associate with your OC?

Alright so this is going to be kind of embarrassing, but I don't actually listen to music with lyrics that much so. I can't easily pull out a bunch of lyrics. This isn't quite a quote, but this is what I mentally associate Ikki with. Story time, back in summer 2020 I was supposed to do a volcanology field camp thing, but it was summer 2020, so it went online and became a thing about volcanology and igneous petrology. As part of that, we had to read these papers and give a presentation on them. I had these papers about kimberlite petrology, and one of them had a phase diagram (shows the state of the material at different temperatures and pressures; here's one for water to illustrate what one is) with like 15 different minerals on one phase diagram. As you can imagine, it was pretty much unusable. I associate Ikki with that.

20: Does your OC have a tendency to get jealous? If so, how does this manifest?

I don't feel that Ikki's really the jealous type. She's too precious for that. Honestly, she gets more reverse jealousy from her self-doubt issues. If she were to get jealous, it'd probably be in a pretty cute way where it's not super serious but she's also bad at hiding it.

12: Is your OC self-destructive? In what ways?

Karranis is self-destructive on a couple levels. First off, being pretty unlikeable means that, shocker, people don't like you and it's hard to build up a base of political power. I'm getting ahead of myself on that front, though. On a personal level, Karranis is absolutely lying to himself about his feelings. He thinks he wants revenge on Rhoam, but that's not giving him his flight feathers back. Similarly with reclaiming independence for the Rito, that won't fix his prior failures. Arguably, he's actually just pushing himself to become an even more broken person by putting his energy into these things.

Also, he absolutely does not take care of himself, as seen by the fact that in his first chapter we see him both wake up after having passed out in Inali's roost from staying up too late and then go an entire day without even thinking to eat.

19: How does your OC behave when enraged?

Normally, Karranis likes to keep his feelings close to his chest. You won't often see him enraged. Now, that's not because he doesn't feel it; he's a vindictive man who has been nursing the same grudge for almost 2 decades. He's simply grown to be pragmatic; he can wait until the right moment to right a perceived slight.

Now, if you do manage to push Karranis past his breaking point? He absolutely likes taking things out physically. Doubly so if you've gotten him on the unlucky days he's tried to drown his sorrows with the bottle. If Rito Village is likely, he'll take it out on the object of his anger or at least someone relatively close, such as what he did to Gerial Hyrule in the prologue. If it's unlikely, he'll just take things out on whoever's nearby. Inali, Kheel, Revali, and a few of the other top Rito Warriors each have stories of a violent Karranis.

How does it feel to know deep down that Kohga is right? You're the most expendable champion. The only special thing about you is flying and archery, both of which Link can do without you using a fancy bow and a few pinecones tossed into a fire. Mipha can heal people from practically death, Daruk can shield you from a blow that would kill someone, and Urbosa can summon LITERAL lightning. But you do...what? Jump a bit higher than everyone else? THAT'S the extent of your lifes work?? Don't you feel a little bit pathetic? They're clearly only including you out of pity. Like I would be embaressed if I were you honestly.
