A chunk of another one-shot I have sitting in progress, following Jaheira directly after the fall of the Netherbrain. :D

Around the time Jaheira and Minsc pass the Basilisk Gate, she begins to shiver uncontrollably. 

When did it get so cold at night? she wonders vaguely. Have we passed into autumn already? What day is it? Her clothes, still damp from falling into the harbor, stick against her skin like a coat of ice, and the sun has slipped beneath the horizon, taking its lingering warmth with it. 

Her muscles ache. Her head aches. Her hands ache from that last terrible climb up the brainstem; there is still a strange, stinking gunk under her fingernails. Her scimitars are covered in blood. So are her clothes.

Were the gods merciful, she would be able to sink now into dreamless sleep from which she would perhaps not rise again for a tenday. But in her experience, the gods have little mercy in them, and none for her. 

“It is worse here,” Minsc says in a low voice. 

Jaheira can see what he means at once, even though the signs are subtle. While the Upper City lies in ruins, the Lower City is merely devastated; most of the buildings are still intact. But debris lines the streets, remnants of explosions that rocked the upper city coming to rest in the lower. Shell-shocked civilians walk among the wreckage, clutching at the remnants of their lives which are so ill-equipped to sustain such ravaging loss. 

She searches every face among the dead as they pass. And there are so many. Corpses of every walk of life, their red blood mixing with the silver of the mind flayers that lie among them, heaped in alleys or dripping onto the open cobblestones. 

“Minsc knows some of these faces,” Minsc mutters gravely. His expression is uncharacteristically serious, his eyebrows tightly knitted together. Boo sits on his shoulder, very still and with all his fur standing up. “Such a blow this city has been struck…”

Jaheira tries to scoff, though the dismissive noise sticks in her throat. “Tch…” she mutters. “The city is a cesspit. Perhaps it is a kindness that it be so struck off the face of Toril…” She trails off and scowls, knowing the words sound hollow even as she speaks them.

Minsc knows it too. “Jaheira should not speak so of the city where her children have slept,” he says reprovingly.

She flinches. “They should not be here,” she snaps, rounding on him with a sudden fury that is not actually for him at all. “Stlarning-- I told them to go! I told them it would not be safe here, that there were monsters coming out of the dark. And did they listen? No. They would stay and they would watch the blood flow into the gutters…” Her voice cracks and she looks down at the street, where a line of red from someone’s throat has left a long, smeared stain.

“Seven words…” she mutters, more to herself than to Minsc. “Had it been twenty-five, would they have listened? Would they have gone?”

"dude its not that embarassing to rewatch some creepypasta stuff you liked as a teenager" the character i imprinted on like a baby duck at 16 was a demon from new jersey that acts like the humanization of every offspring song and canonically listens to scissor sisters. His favorite color is purple and his favorite pokemon are gengar and haunter. He leaves people notes with emojis on them. He acts like a beetlejuice scare actor at halloween horror nights. His catchphrase is "feeling sassy?" Hes (allegedly) worked with every war criminal throughout history and been every serial killer. even the gay ones. He ate a baby. His animal motif is a rabbit. Hes kind of based off the donnie darko rabbit. He almost exclusively wears merchandise of the quentin tarantino movie death proof. One of his biggest kill scenes is (kind of?) a reference to reservoir dogs. he talks to his cats in a baby voice. He wears a white fedora that makes every video he wears it in feel dated by like 7 years. Hes 5'3. Hes from new jersey. He hacked a girls tumblr blog so he could post about how awesome he is. He added a laugh track over a video of him killing people. He named a chainsaw rex. He torments people by playing frank sinatra at them. His name comes from an animal collective song. His creator drew his "true form" as a wolf anthro. Theres a (semi)canon blog entry where he makes the speakers blare rob zombie before he enters a room, then holds a guy at gunpoint to describe what he did to to him while "making sure to leave in all the cool parts". He has radioactive blood. He tried for like five whole minutes to pick up a bottle of ketchup with a grabby hand. Hes kind of suicidal.He can be reasonably compared to pretty much every major tumblr sexyman. His actor has gone on record saying heath ledgers joker inspired his acting choices. Sometimes his voice gets distorted and it makes him sound like bill ciphers first year on HRT. Hes basically like my artistic muse. For some fucking reason i associate the song cake by the ocean with him. I firmly believe that if everymanhybrid didn't require a masters degree in creepypasta autism to comprehend, he would've caused more teenage stabbings than the slenderman incident and more kin war tumblr scenarios than nagito komaeda.

Hmm. I am tbh not one of those writers that does Really Intense Research for fics - yet anyway. XD I have definitely had to start going down some rabbit holes about Calimport in the Forgotten Realms wiki, because I came to the sudden realization as I was writing the most recent chapter of Open Your Eyes that the rest of the fic (more or less) is going to be set there and I know nothing about it. :P

My favorite random search term in recent memory, though, was trying to get a summary of what hamsters eat for purposes of writing A Bond That Needs No Name.

Hm. I'm already feeling like there's things I could have done better with the first chapter of The Hellraisers, and I might go back to edit it further in the future. But I was rather pleased with this bit of character-establishing for Hector in that chap:

"He is no creature of the Hells; in fact until eight months ago, he was no creature of the world at all. He was a hidden-away thing, a rabbit in its burrow, protected from danger by the high walls and determined isolation of Silverlight Monastery, bastion of the Moonmaiden. Now… after months on the road, fighting horrors he would never have even conceived of before, he hardly recognizes the battered, weary warrior that he has become."

(I know this is three sentences, not one, but whatever. :P )

Pretty much all my BG3 writing has been very strongly inspired by prompts and/or other people's art here on Tumblr. :D Or, honestly, just sitting and watching clips from the game itself; the characters themselves are the big inspiration point for me.

🎊 toki! I'm Muffin! Let's celebrate by drawing our sonas in silly party outfits 🎊

For my birthday (Dec 2nd) I thought… what would be a better gift than getting to see so many diffrent sonas? Especially if it’s of my friends, moots and possible future friends! I designed a party version of my sona and am hoping others will draw their own sonas in outfits to match that aesthetic

The plan is to draw submitted sonas in a big drawing at the end of the event! If you’re interested feel free to read more but if not please reblog this post anyway so that others can participate!

How To Participate:

1. Reblog this post with the specific tag #RSVP so I know you’re interested! 🎉

2. Submit your sona design! I am gathering the designs beforehand to hopefully get a head start on the group drawing. You can submit a design by sending me an ask with a reference! Simply draw your sona matching the outfit shown below. It can be a quick sketch, I just request it be fully colored- Also please include height or approximate size plus any other important details in the ask!

3. Attend the magma! I will have a magma open Nov 29th - Dec 3rd where I’ll be drawing and doodling throughout the days ( this is optional! But feel free to join me! )

4. I will do my best to draw all sonas submitted to me before Dec 1st in a group photo!
