• Your first check-up with Dr. Harvey was a simple one, he checked the normal boxes needed to be filled. He was a bit stern when learning about your eating habits. He inquired heavily, but he soon came to terms with it. Harvey was not keen on snacking throughout the day instead of eating a real meal to refuel, but he was a doctor, not your parent! So, he gave you a pamphlet on eating healthier and sent you on your way.

• Harvey was NOT pleased when you had passed out in the mines due to a lack of energy. You got a very stern talking to! “Please, do not jeopardize yourself like this! Your health is very important, and you have to have energy with your busy schedule! You can take time out of your day to have a full meal, no more snacking! You have to properly refuel your energy ... could I help you with making a meal plan? With nutritious food?”

• You tried your hardest to follow Harvey's meal plan, cooking for yourself or going to the Saloon if you were too tired to fix anything. You hated to admit it, but ... it worked. You were way more energetic, and you certainly did feel better! ... on days where you actually followed it. You were so busy, and time started slipping away from you ... you fell back into your old ways. And your now boyfriend Harvey was picking up on it.

• “Dear, I say this with all the love in my heart ... your eating habits scare me. No, terrify me. This is not a way to maintain your body! Please, start taking more care of yourself, love ... as much as I love having you in my office, I can't have you there for actually being sick from malnourishment. I know you're busy, but please set aside some time for simple self care ...”

• Harvey was set on helping you out, making a second lunch everyday just in case you stopped by the office. It was a daily ritual, and you had at least one full meal a day! Look at you go! Harvey had infiltrated your snacky lifestyle, but not fully. You were still skipping breakfast and even dinner some nights, you were just so busy. Things definitely changed when you married Harvey, though.

• The day Harvey moved in, you could tell he was a force to be reckoned with. Every morning, he'd be awake before you with a full breakfast made. He'd kiss you on the forehead before guiding you to the table, making sure you ate at least a little bit before heading out for the day. He was a very concerned husband!

• Harvey would also cook dinner. Now Harvey is not the most amazing cook in the world, sometimes he'd opt for TV dinners and boxed mac and cheese. But, he'd have something for you nonetheless! And if he didn't, that just meant date night at the Saloon! Even nights where you'd come home late, he'd have a note on the counter telling you there's food in the microwave. You'll also be lectured in the morning about staying out so late.

• Harvey is so in love with you, and he really wants to make sure you're happy and healthy. Your health is most important to him. Yes, he's the doctor for the whole town, but you're the love of his life. He's going to care for his spouse the best he can. And he will take care of you for as long as you'll have him.

Nemi's voice grew increasingly annoyed as the android seemed to take delight in his frustration. Leona mocked him with a simulated yawn, holding it's arm out as instructed but rolling it's upper body onto the workbench, not unlike a cat - or a bored toddler.

"How would you know? Maybe I can."

It's tail flicked in amusement, an almost smug smile on it's face as Nemi grumbled, but to it's dismay, there was nothing more to his reaction.

The slight whirr of his fans picked up as if to more openly express his annoyance, getting impatient as Nemi soldered some servo for what felt like the upteenth time in the last hour or so. They wanted the upgrade. Leona had only agreed because he thought it was going to be quick.

It drummed it's fingers idly with it's free hand against the table, mocking the mechanic with a long sigh. It's optics shifted just enough to see if it had warranted any response, but was disappointed once again when Nemi seemed too invested in his upgrading to care.

Leona studied him a little more closely. His gloves old, dirty and worn from work had left a small smear of grease on his cheek earlier when he had brushed away a stray hair. His focus remained fixated on Leona's arm, a homemade magnifying glass-bracelet gadget fitted to his wrist only served to amplify the inherent charm of man's ingenuity. Even with what few supplies he had, he was doing everything in his power to make Leona's existence easier. Why, Leona was unsure it would ever understand, but it was appreciated. It's optics took in everything like it was the first time again - the furrowed brow, the intensity of their eyes, their slight pout.

Leona's tail flicked playfully again, as a grin tugged at the corner of his "mouth".

"You look pretty cute like that y'kn-"

A resounding clang was heard as Nemi near unthinkingly bopped it over the head - not hard, just enough to make it shut up.

"Ow...what was that for?" Leona feigned injury, rubbing the top of it's head a bit where Nemi had struck it.

Nemi, caught up between emotions, nearly apologized, before realizing he wasn't entirely sure if that was Leona simply wanting to get a reaction out of him, or if it had been a genuine compliment. He cleared his throat and waved his hand dismissively.

"You said maybe you could feel things. I was just hoping one of them was pain, because you clearly have no shame!"

Tav making or trying to make Gale fail No Nut November

Not only because this ask is magnificent, and not only because I squealed when I read it, but because you sent it to me at 10:28pm on November 1st.

Anon, the fact that you couldn’t even last 24 hours into No Nut November before sending in an ask about No Nut November is absolutely perfect. And do you know why?

Because being unable to last 24 hours into No Nut November is exactly what would happen to Gale.

Truthfully, the hardest part of this ask was coming up with why in the hells Gale would ever agree to participate in NNN in the first place. In fact, I think he would be positively incensed at the very idea: “…an entire MONTH of abstaining from pleasures of the flesh?! Simply to prove that it can be done?! Well! I could chop off an arm and cast spells one-handed to prove that it could be done, but it’s hardly something I’d willingly partake in!”

However! For the sake of this fantastic ask, we’ll say that he was convinced and agreed to try.

But the real crux of the matter, and your actual question, is what Tav would do about this situation. And the truth is, I really don’t think Tav would even have to try hard (or uh…at all) to make Gale fail at NNN.

Picture this series of events with me, anon:

Gale waking up with Tav in his arms (or he in theirs)

Drinking in the sight of his beloved as he does every morning

Noticing that Tav’s nightshirt is unlaced, their shoulder and chest uncovered and in full view

Their leg draped over his, thigh fully exposed

Gale already uncomfortably hard due to it being the morning

Tav innocently shifting and repositioning themselves to snuggle closer, their leg brushing over his bulge

Gale doing everything in his power not to audibly moan, thoughts flooding his mind of how they’d made love in the morning just a few days past. Remembering Tav pulling him from sleep by riding him as though their life depended on it. Thinking of Tav’s thighs clamping around his midsection, and then around his head, the taste of Tav on his tongue as he—

Gale not rolling out of bed so much as falling out of it.

Apologizing profusely, frantically getting dressed in his teaching robes, giving Tav a chaste kiss on the forehead, and all but running out the door

The faculty lounge being so crowded that Tav has to sit on Gale’s lap

Beads of sweat forming on Gale’s forehead as Tav blithely chats with the other Professors

Fumbling or dropping his fork every time Tav shifts slightly

Lunch ending with Gale looking as flushed and sweaty as if he’d just ran a marathon rather than sat for 45 minutes

Tav asking him if he’s okay and Gale reassuring them that he’s fine

Grateful that they cannot see his orb scar through his thick teaching robes, certain it is glowing blindingly bright purple

Kissing Tav goodbye, this time on the lips. Instantly realizing his mistake as the thought occurs to him that he could just dimension door them both into his private office, and—

Hastily breaking the kiss and telling Tav he hopes they have a good afternoon, he’ll see them this evening, he loves them

Spending the rest of the afternoon steeling his resolve

Barely able to pay attention to his class

Muttering to himself that it’s just 30 days! Surely that is surmountable! His bond with Tav is incomparable, they are tethered at the soul, their love goes beyond just the physical, even if that aspect is magnificent and life-giving and—

Ending class early when he realizes he’s mistakenly conjured Tav’s likeness when he was supposed to be channeling the Weave

Arriving home, escaping to the kitchen to start dinner, praying that Tav is busy elsewhere in the tower

Relieved to find a note that they will be home a bit later

Focusing on dinner preparation to the point that he doesn’t realize how much time has passed

Looking up to see Tav has arrived home. The air suddenly thick with their sweet musk

Gale, realizing from their glistening muscles, flushed cheeks and battle gear that they have been off doing their weekly practice at the local armory

Gale, completely mesmerized as a single bead of sweat rolls down their neck and over their heaving chest

Jimithon Mouthwashing is such a good representation of untreated, enabled NPD like it makes me want to squeeze the life out of him. I'm endlessly fascinated when watching him interact with his crew, surroundings, and himself because he's so fucking lost in his own sauce. It's insane. If I'm being real, it makes him my favorite character in the game.

It's a little scary to say, but watching Jimmy is like seeing a mirrored version of myself two years ago before I truly committed to treatment for my NPD. He's like a shadow. The opening line "I hope this hurts," which I believe comes from Jimmy right before the crash, is such a poignant statement. It's a simple line, but I can tell you from experience that the desire to hurt others when in a narcissistic rage is overwhelming. It's such a good line to sum up Jimmy's character in that moment. Luckily, in the real world, I had my friends and family there to catch me when I hit my lowest, even though I'd hurt them so many times. Jimmy probably could've used friends to force him into therapy (cough cough Curly cough cough)

Hi there! Just wanted to say I love your art, especially the art piece you made of that “Pastel Moon” or “Daytime Moon” you did.

I saw in your tags to even describe what he might be like, and I just so happen to be a bit of an aspiring writer.

So I’d like to say the character you made is less intense with getting those around him to sleep, but more to either calm down or have fun. And unlike most animatronics, he isn’t showing any parts of his metal frame. Instead, he is made from a child-friendly (and person safe) fluffy, plush material (think more like a mattress or a pillow.)

This gives him the ability to be really nimble and light in his movements, enough to possibly jump over a fully grown adult.

Anyways, hope you don’t mind this long ask.

how do you draw ash,,, I'm struggling to draw him. pls break him down to his essence for me so I can better understand him

He’s got a very simple design compared to all my other ocs, so in theory he should be easy to draw…. But because his design is simple it is very easy to completely fuck up one thing and end up with him not looking right (speaking from experience lol)

So! Here’s my attempt at like. Breaking him down for you. I’m not actually sure if this will help any LMAO but I hope it does :,,) I’ll absolutely do more if you need it tho like anything specific like I had fun doing this

He’s a very round boy, as in like soft edges… really the only points on him would be like. His hair or whatever. He’s got a big mouth for yappin the ear off his family members, and big eyes for lookin at his family, and long arms to hug his family, etc etc.

You would NEVER see him mad like you would my other ocs, he’s the type to start crying when put into a situation that makes him really upset (you probably wouldn’t even see him very upset either as he has a tendency to run away from situations that make him feel bad)

He’s very aware of his body and the space he takes up, so unlike my other gangly ocs he isn’t clumsy at all. He DOES find himself in awkward situations sometimes (like accidentally eavesdropping on people cus they don’t notice he’s there and he’s too awkward to move away cus what if they think he’s listening in on purpose)

He’s not very outgoing with most people and it takes him a bit to really warm up to someone, but once you’re in his good books you are never getting him to chill out. He’s got a serious case of “lack of volume control” and he talks to people like they are across a big room pretty much all the time. If he isn’t yelling he’s probably whisper talking to try and seem less obvious, he gets self conscious about taking up too much space.

He’s a big talker he’s always trying to say something to someone if they’ll let him and often times it has no relation to the current topic or situation (only he seems to notice how the topics flow together) He can and will go on for hours if no one stops him. He’s got like, an internet sized brain in his noggin so he could quite literally go on forever about literally anything (he goes down research rabbit holes for fun)

hi, ive been LOVING your odydio series, can you share a little about your writing process? how do you find a thread to write around, and how do you remain so consistent with your gorgeous character work? 🙏🙌

This took me so long to answer im so sorry lmao But thanks so much for the ask!! I love chatting about my writing process. Though honestly I always find it a little hard to explain how I write, as it’s a very intuitive process and I don’t tend to do a lot of planning or anything But let me answer this question in opposite order, starting with my characters :) For me, I never start writing fic immediately, I first take a while to sort of shape the characters in my head and play out stories and scenarios with them first. Some of those stories eventually make it to ao3, most will just stay forever in my brain. And something that really helps inform how i want to write and interpret a character beside the source material is actually other people’s fanfiction! Which sounds counterintuitive, because most would counsel to stay away from fanworks to avoid writing a fanon version of the characters. But when I just read the source material, especially when the source material is in a very different style than my own fics, i really struggle to conceptualise the characters. So seeing them through the lens of other people’s writing makes me identify what works and what doesn’t work in my own interpretations. I think i read through all the odydio fics before i started writing wishbone lmao As for finding a thread to work around, like i said, im a very intuitive writer, and my work is highly emotions based. So every scene i write tends to have one singular goal: either exploring a characters mental state, or the relationship between two (or more) characters. Everything in the scene is there to facilitate that goal. My personal opinion when writing is that all plot has to support the characters and and all worldbuilding exists solely to support the plot and therefore the characters and their emotional journey. Its basically all set dressing for the real story i want to tell, which is for the most part a character study Because i try to keep my writing very focused, i do feel like i miss out on writing some cool things. For example the version of Palamedes’ death i chose to use in my fic in not personally my favourite one, i actually love the version where odysseus frames him as a trojan traitor. But i chose to use the drowning version, because setting up the whole plotline for the framing thing would have led me too far away from the point of that scene, which was to show how Diomedes still followed Odysseus into something he didn’t want to do So in general when planning out a scene i just have one central concept that the whole scene takes its shape around, instead of the themes conforming to fit the story, if that makes sense I tend to get my inspiration for the themes and dynamics i want to explore from the writings of others (the original idea of Diomedes with cotard's syndrome is directly inspired by aegialia’s ‘two lions at midnight’ and 'Smoke and Mirrors' by cygniavenue and procrastinatingbookworm ). Other than that, the wishbone series obviously takes a lot of inspiration from the poem wishbone by richard siken (i actually always had the poem next to me while writing) The poem really inspired my view on the dynamic between odysseus and diomedes and was my starting point for the series

1. Some of the quotes in general can get kind of explicit or with double entendres so uh keep that in mind.

2. Something I just learnt after going to find you the translations, it's to keep in mind their author: See, this is better explained in the aforementioned ne.ocities archival, but a lot of the site's translations were made by someone who, without going too much into detail, is... a controversial member of the community, who is known for putting a good bunch of misconceptions and mistakes into their translations. (Also they have, in my opinion, unsavory and even problematic takes about the franchise. Don't try to argue with them, just block, per proper net etiquette) I don't know japanese so I don't know if this quote index suffers from that so in the end, we'll have to take all this quote info with a huge grain of salt.

Keeping all this in mind, this is already probably a wordier answer than you expected BUT since we are at it, I'll ramble about some A.B.A quotes (in no order) that I found interesting about the topic under the cut, if you want to read that.

First and third quotes in this picture are pretty self explanatory about this part of her character. The vs Faust intro... Man, that looks straight out of her strive song. Dunno if they pulled inspiration from that, but it seems even in the classic days they had a pretty clear idea of part of A.B.A's story being existing and thriving in her own unique way.. Which makes me kind of emotional for some reason ;_;

These were NOT unused as far as I can tell, but obviously do correct me if wrong!

I find it fascinating how much of clear glimpses these are are into her law obsession (more on that specific one later) and believing herself to be a high class person and looking above "lower classes" shoulders.

Some of these aren't exclusively about the aforementioned topics but they mention her cooking god knows what creatures (like in that one infamous xxac ending) and just.. being a scared, pathetic individual at heart. Sigh.

There are probably more examples of all this but this post needs to end sometime today.😭 So, returning to her law thing being an obsession in capital letters, look at her ingame overdrives:

While sure it can be evidence in a more general meaning, like proving facts or something, it does call to LEGAL evidence, too

...Maybe that was super obvious for everybodh but I'm afraid to admit I didn't connect the dots til now haha 😅

I cannot access my xxacp copy right now to see if her saying shouko during her overdrives is correct, but were we to take this as truth and also trust a japanese language study site as solid because. Again I have zero knowledge of japanese... According to Nihongoclassroom..

It can be used in a legal setting.

And with this we can neatly wrap this up... Tdlr I guess she's living up to her creator being a mansion owner (which isn't precisely cheap) and it gets so interesting and double edged (HAH) if you believe her classic games was as self aware while doing this and fooling herself as strive A.B.A is.

okay so. dream and karl are suuuuch a good ler combo for sap. bc dream and sapnap have known each other for FOREVER, they’ve literally grown up together, and karl was the person who got sap more comfortable with physical touch and cuddling and now he’s just the sweetest little cuddle bug :(( and they both know him so so well, so them teaming up to take sap down???? that poor boy is a GONER

plus, we know karl can get sapnap all soft and melty in minutes, and we know that dream loves hugging sapnap from behind and cuddling up to him

karl is staying at the dteam house, the three of them are just chilling in the living room talking, and dream leans over to sap and hugs him all sweet. karl smiles at them, pats both their heads and lets it slip that “oh, sap loves being held like that, don’t you, handsome?” which immediately makes sapnap’s cheeks turn pink and makes him squirm in his seat, already flustered. and he whines at karl to not say that, bites his lip against a smile and turns away, but dream just hugs tighter and kisses his cheek gently

and then… karl and dream decide it’s a great time to talk about all the other stuff they know that makes sap flustered and blushy and adorable like that

and sap. is practically dying. he’s blushing brighter than the red throw blanket on the couch next to him, squirming and hiding his face as much as he’s able to, crowded in by both boys who are looming over him as they talk, and he THINKS he’ll survive this…

until they somehow end up talking about how ticklish he is, then the spots they both know, then the teases that work best on him, and sapnap is prepared to fall through the floor from how embarrassed and flustered he is in that moment

he tries to get them to stop, begs and pleads for them to just leave it alone, until karl– who is able to get sapnap to agree to anything– holds his face so gently, and goes, “c’mon, sweetheart, please? let us try it out?” and sap is appalled, because absolutely not, no, no way, but karl just smiles and goes “please?” and sap is just putty in his hands. he stares at karl, glances at dream, looks back to karl, and melts into dreams arms as he goes “okay :(“

and then they pull him in closer and take him apart so, so gently, trailing their fingers over every spot they both suggest, making the smaller boy squirm and giggle and lose himself in the laughter and the warmth that bloom in his chest from all the attention 🥰🥰

and if afterwards his mind is completely full of static and fuzzy beyond belief, and all he knows to do it cuddle up to the other two and hide his face in them and whine at them? well, that’s just a bonus for all three of them isn’t it

What’s your honest opinion on power scaling?

honest opinion? if we're strictly talking the definition, it's fine. it can even be a kind of fun thought experiment. but it's just that, a thought experiment. in no way do i think it is the best way to analyze media lmao, especially one piece.

ive found twitter to be extremely annoying about power scaling, with the constant 'x is stronger than y' and complaining that 'x got nerfed' or 'y is a fraud'. and just. aren't you miserable constantly thinking like that lmao? for me personally, one piece has never been about the fighting, it's always been about the emotion behind them, which is something these uh. fans. never seem to consider. i'm so tired of seeing these discussions over and over again because i really think they're kind of pointless.

strength is not all one piece characters' goals and to rank everyone based on this alone without any other influence is frankly stupid. not every thing in one piece is a competition about who is stronger than who. i get that it's a battle shounen, but i think it really does the series a disservice to reduce it to that. there's a lot more to it than just the fights, i honestly think the overall plot and themes as well as the relationships that the characters form take a lot more precedence over the fighting. ignoring all of that in favor of making constant rankings of who would theoretically beat who is quite frankly stupid. i think generally these are just used to push whoever is the original poster's favorite as the strongest no matter what, and they usually fail to mention that often times there are other factors at play during the fights. the context is always important, as they're not all strict one v. ones, and environment and emotion carry weight in a fight that these posters usually don't account for.

if this is in reference to [spoilers for chapter 1118/1119] bonney's joy girl form, i'll just come out and say that i absolutely love it. i think it not only is completely within her skill set, but it also makes total narrative sense as well. regardless of that, i think ultimately, sticking to your themes and making sure you are hitting proper emotional and narrative beats is more important than just the fighting. while you can't just completely break a character's established move set to serve whatever purpose you need from them at the time, i'm personally of the opinion that it's alright to stretch it to a small degree every now and then when you really need or would like something done.

i'm kind of talking in broad strokes here, this got much longer than i wanted it to and i don't want to make it drag on too much, so i'll just end by weighing in on the age old question of who's stronger, zoro or sanji. i think it's very simple in that really it does not matter. it does not matter and it will continue to not matter unless the death pact needs to be fulfilled, even then i doubt a simple one v. one will be the solution, but i digress
