BAILEY

COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS

That she's a normal kid who needs saving and protection or else she'll perish. That she will just kick, scream and cry if someone grabs her and needs someone else to come rescue her or else she's doomed. That she needs an adult to be dependent on. She's the opposite; yes she's a kid, but she doesn't need protection and she will fuck you up if you grab her. She is not... A damsel in distress, best way to describe it lol. She is a horrible child, you have been warned. She will take an actual chunk out of your face with her teeth.

AN IMPORTANT HEADCANON

A lot of her shitty behavior revolves around her infection. If you write with her younger verse where she is 10 years old, she is easier to get on with than with her main verse at 14 years old. Yeah she's a bratty kid I won't deny that, she definitely is, but a lot of it also ties in with the fact that she's infected and a lot of her more aggressive and combative behaviors is something she literally cannot control, stop or change.

A USELESS HEADCANON

She likes to play pretend with Teddy, Teddy is many things. He's a doctor, a dinosaur, a real bear, a driver, an astronaut, a cashier, the boss. Teddy is everything.

POTENTIAL TRIGGERS

Blood, violence, death, murder, apocalypse (infected crazed humans), guns and weapons, gun violence, harm to kids, harm to animals - hunting for food, survival, profanity LOTS of profanity this kid has a mouth on her, loss of loved ones.

SOMETHING YOU ENJOY ABOUT (WRITING) THEM

I love writing the aggressive nature of Bailey. Being able to tap into the symptoms even the very minor ones of her infection, I've always really loved the cordyceps infection we are shown in The Last of Us. I love being able to explore my take on the infection on someone like Bailey; someone who's infected but still has a conscious mind.

SOMETHING YOU WANT OTHERS TO KNOW BEFORE WRITING WITH THEM

When you write with Bailey, be well aware that she is, as I have mentioned before, a horrible child. She can be very mean, very abrasive and very aggressive. If you hate swear words especially in the aggressive nature, do not, and I repeat, do not, write with Bailey, because I will not tone her down.

god I'm so fucking furious at the removal of Te Reo Māori names from organisations around Aotearoa. it's a complete non-issue, every organisation has the English name directly underneath the Māori name. I have never once as an English speaker been unable to understand what an organisation is for. Winston Peters, the Deputy Prime Minister, who is literally Māori himself, said “Te Papa is a historic name but tell me this waka kotahi, how many boats have you seen going down the road?”. Waka does not just mean canoe. it means vessel, and waka kotahi (the transport agency of Aotearoa) explains this VERY SIMPLY on their official website. waka kotahi means to travel together as one. Can you see how fucking upsetting this is. A Māori person in power who is in agreement about banning his own language, being so cocky about something that he does not even understand due to the suppression of the language of his people. It makes me sick. I've seen reports from Māori people all over Aotearoa speaking out about how upset and furious they are, how decades of progress have been undone in the fight to restore the rights of their people who have for so long been oppressed and have suffered the effects of colonisation. Please share this if you can, I hate knowing how few people will hear about this, I know there is so much injustice in the world right now and it is so exhausting, I know. I love you all, keep it up.

i hit 1k followers recently!!!! yipee!!!!!!! thank you all!!! so in celebration here’s all of my completed isat doodle pages, from oldest to newest. go nuts with them!! and maybe don’t look at the first doodle page too closely. it’s Old.

(no greyscale version below for once! just some mushy ramblings. you don’t have to read them don’t worry)

hhhhhha?? so many people. where did you come from. how did you all find me.

ok but seriously, thank you all so much for all the support. i never really. expected to make it this far? like, ever?? i’ve mentioned it a few times on here, but i’ve been a lurker for the past… 2 years, i think? and even before that, i never gained much traction outside of a couple posts. so this has been. very new to me!! in a nice way!! it’s weird to feel like an actual member of a community!! that people know about!

the idea of finally coming back to social media was Daunting (i literally got stress hives writing my first post lol) and the warm reception really. meant a lot?? i don’t think i would’ve ever gotten the courage to come back if i hadn’t been encouraged to by the people over at the isat discord!!

the fact that people actually care about my art still doesn’t feel real?? seeing people take inspiration from my art is just. surreal. just. auagssh. thank you all so so much for everything, i really do appreciate it!!! i’m really glad to be in this community. sorry if this all sounds sappy and long winded i’ve just got a lot of emotions about this whole thing!!

(also as a bonus for reading all this or whatever. here’s a concept page for isatscryption! it felt a little out of place next to my normal canvases so i’m putting it down here! yipee! sorry my notes here are so disjointed auauau…)
