🫧 Lagoona Blue (She/Her) 🫧

Lagoona is a sporty sea monster with an extroverted personality. She can be bubbly and fiery as she is full of passion. She is also very dreamy and creative. I decided to design her outfit to fit in multiple settings. It's feminine but still comfortable to switch shoes and be sporty, or perfect for the beach or shopping. She's always ready for a good time!

🪲 Twyla Boogeyman (She/It) 🪲

Twyla is introverted and prefers to spend her time studying and reading books in the library, free from the bustling creepeteria and hallways. It prefers calm and cozy environments, and when it's feeling overstimulated it may poof away into the shadows. She often wears her bunny hood for a sense of security and usually a super soft sweater. And even though it's quiet, that doesn't mean it isn't very observant and always there to lend a kind hand when others are struggling.

🌷 Venus Mcflytrap (She/They) 🌷

Venus is an eco-punk who’s very vocal about our impact on the natural world and how it affects monsters, such as plant monsters like herself, who rely on things like clean air, water, and light. She encourages monsters who visit the Coffin Bean where she works to clean up after themselves and others, and properly dispose of recyclable products. She also organizes environmentalism at Monster High having students plant native plants on school grounds, and making recycling accessible all across the school.

🦇Draculaura (She/Her)🦇

I honestly love the concept of Dracualura learning to do magic in the new gen. It makes an amazing reference to old stories about Dracula, who actually did quite a bit of magic. I definitely wanted to give her a cute vampy teenager haircut, and I kept the split dye that is slightly controversial but it makes the most sense with the hairstyle I drew. I also wanted her outfit to feel more (Victorian) gothic, while also dipping toes in a bit of lolita style. Frankie, Clawdeen, and Draculaura all love to support each other’s dreams and creative expression. This has helped Dracualura be more open about her magic, and show that there is light and dark magic. Though wanting to be open about being a witch has caused her to be a bit harsh on herself. She wants people to see perfection in the things she does, and be a trailblazer for other young witches. Her friends remind her she doesn’t have to be so hard on herself.

🏺Cleo de Nile (She/Her)🏺

Cleo’s story in G3 is a trope that I honestly enjoy for characters who start off in a more antagonist-adjacent role. Her family is famous, but she doesn’t get as much fame as her sister because she’s not first in line for the throne, so she seeks to be popular in her own independent way. And she acts like she’s better than everyone else, but deep down is actually really accepting of others. So then she learns that it’s okay to drop the act and not focus on being popular just because of your family, and actually slows down to make close friends and not just be liked by the general crowd. Deuce is her ex, and Frankie and her definitely have romantic chemistry. Frankie has helped ground Cleo, and teaches her to take each day one at a time. Showing her that the little moments with people who love you are worth way more than the love of millions. Anyways I hope her outfit I styled isn’t too costumey. I think it works though it’s similar to her G1 styling.

❄️Abbey Bominable (She/Her)❄️

Abbey in G3 is very chill and charismatic. She also has an interest in snowboarding, so I decided to draw her wearing her snowboarding jacket in a more casual way along with thermal leggings and fur boots. Her hair design is based off reference images of native Nepalese hairstyles with long hair and a kind of scarf braided in. I thought is was beautiful and wanted to reference it in my art. I also gave her a Nepalese necklace which I also referenced from a photo.

Another Fursona 🐺🌔🐾🍂

It’s very stereotypically transmasculine/autistic of me to love wolves and make a wolf fursona not gonna lie. But I wanted to make a fursona that hit a little closer to home, who visits the Twin Cities and just spends their time exploring and collecting things. I’ve always wanted to drive up to a Lake Superior beach and find my own agate on the shores, so I imagine my fursona carries an agate they found for good luck. The International Wolf Center is also located in MN, which I’m hoping to finally visit next summer!

I would also like to share that I have ancestral ties to the Sandy Lake Chippewas, and wanted to embrace my love of being a native Minnesotan by birth and blood <3

I’m from the Midwest but I love seals and the beach when I’ve visited so I wanted to make a silly seal furry. I absolutely love the character I’ve created.

⚡️Frankie Stein (They/Them)⚡️

Frankie’s personality in G3 is very energetic and quite literally electric. They have dreams of becoming a monster surgeon, and they also enjoy STEM activities such as building gadgets and attachments to their body. In my design I wanted to give them a unique, almost neon-punk mad scientist, style. I feel like Frankie finds reflecting their unique identity in their self-expression to be very important. I kept their gender identity and sexuality pretty canon to the show because I think it’s amazing to see for a main character. Also as a neurodivergent person I see myself in Frankie and their personality a lot, which is why in my version they are absolutely neurodiverse in some way.

🧠Ghoulia Yelps (She/They)🧠

I know there’s a lot of dislike for Ghoulia’s new character in G3, but honestly I really do like seeing her being portrayed as a gamer ghoul type nerd versus being a numbers and tech nerd like in G1. I think her character design needs a bit of work though. In my design she’s kind of a more realistic gamer in terms of dress I feel like, and also has a bit of edge as well. I headcanon them as being slightly emo and it shows in their style hence the classic beanie, plugs, converse, and hoodie/t-shirt combo. And I feel like she’s the type to wear strictly pajama pants and sweatpants due to sensory reasons (jeans are evil), but they usually have some kind of graphic patterns on them! I feel like a good aspiration for them would be learning how to code and create video games. I could also see them enjoying animation as well, potentially incorporating their own animations into games. Also, I’m taking away the skater ghoul aspect completely just because I think the animation and video game/coding hobby is a lot more interesting!

🐾Clawdeen Wolf (She/They)🐾

Clawdeen’s character revamp in G3 is another controversial one that I see the fandom divided on as well. A lot of people miss her glamorous and fierce style, while others embrace the change. I personally adore Clawdeen’s new look, and I definitely leaned into it in my version. I felt like I just had to make her a tumblr ghoul. Idk what the Monster High equivalent of Tumblr would be, but she’d definitely be on there with blogs about books, following fan fiction tags, and aesthetic mood boards and photos. I totally get those vibes from the OG design, but I needed to see them in a beanie, flannel, tattoo choker, distressed/cuffed skinny jeans, doc martens. I also just had to give her the galaxy wolf shirt her doll outfits always have a celestial theme and galaxy print was THE shit.

I’ve finally been watching Once Upon a Time after wanting to watch it as a kid back when it was airing, and I absolutely adore Red she’s so cute and their spin on the little red riding hood story is pretty cool. I kinda was inspired by her style as Ruby in the “real world” with the overall outfit and I decided I wasn’t afraid of giving her many patterns. I also got inspo for the boots googling fashionable fur boots and the ones I drew from the photo I found were perfect!

(Also, I’ve mostly avoided doing backgrounds in my drawings for the longest time but I thought I’d give it a shot, and I think I did a pretty good job. Not to mention I strayed from my comfort zone doing line-less drawing as well.)
