sorry this is gonna be a vent-y post buuut

sometimes my (extended) family drives me fucking nuts because like these people are super intelligent, okay? just super duper smart, sometimes freakishly so. like sitting around at christmas having 4000-level college course discussions bc that's their idea of fun kind of smart, which is awesome. i also think it's fun. BUT then you add even the slightest political tinge to it and all of a sudden they're all fucking morons who left their brains behind in a dumpster and have never understood a single thing in their lives.

and it's so frustratingly TRANSPARENT bc yeah! yeah you've all decided to subscribe to ways of thinking that don't hold up beneath the slightest bit of brain power! you've taken the brains god gave you and threw yourself headfirst into a worldview that'll crumble the second you stop and actually look at it! no wonder you have to become mindless little conserva-bots, because to use your head would be to admit that what you've spent decades tying yourself to is bullshit. and i get it...it's hard when everything you thought you knew comes up empty and you realize that what you've been standing on as your foundation is nothing more than quicksand, BUT--!

but humble yourself and do it fucking anyway! hell, if my very strict, control freak evangelical mother can do it, anyone fucking can. but then maybe the difference between her and the rest of them is that, for all her flaws, she's always given a shit about other people...and when you give a shit about other people, they become more important than any worldview.

it'd be so much more palatable to me if, like the other side of my family (lmao), they were just kind of dumb and regurgitating what their pastor and/or whatever fox fucking news anchor told them to believe, but these people are really damn smart and have chosen to be stupid in order to preserve something that shouldn't even be preserved. and it's fucking exhausting that i'm the asshole just because i don't wanna hear their crap over holiday dinner or whatever

ATLAS (5-ish years later)

After disappearing in space for a few years he comes back as the charismatic leader of a small but highly-respected group of rebels.

While Atlas can hold his own when it comes to fighting, he actually specializes in communication. His main goal is to unite as many planets/societies to form an alliance against a bigger threat.

I’m sorry but I don’t really understand what’s wrong with the Bendy books not being canon. I should put into account that I haven’t read any of them so maybe my opinion will change if I do end up giving them a read but let me get back to the main point. I’ve been in the FNaF community and let me tell you, they don’t take kindly to the TFTPP books. They constantly complain about what is canon or not and how it stinks that the books are now reliant to understand the lore when back then they were optional. If you ask me I think Paul and Mike dodged a bullet with this decision by just straight up telling the fans if the books are canon or not while Scott keeps it ambiguous. My final point is that there are other franchises that do this sorta thing, not just Bendy. Take for example, Sonic the Hedgehog. There’s a lot of spinoff tv shows and comics but most of them aren’t considered canon to the main games (Although I think Prime and IDW are canon though I’m not sure) so I don’t see why Bendy gets flack for doing the same thing while Sonic gets a pass.

(yet they’re soo similar too. yes i find parallels between their narratives AND everything else as well what of it) then in no particular order- eowyn, faramir, boromir (basically all the gondor men <3), legolas, & as u know i adore the hobbits. all four of them -um 5, including bilbo- but MERRY!! i hate to see him brushed aside & unappreciated. justice for merry, and frodo too!! what selfless, sacrificing, lovely dear hobbits *cries* OH OH AND I ADORE SAMWISE TOO i’d be a fool not to. there’s not a person who’s capable of not loving him. no doubt i’ll be cursing myself later for forgetting other dear ones…

2. charles augustus!! god i’m obsessed w the milverton case. what doesn’t it have?? a master blackmailer. a lady killer (she slays -literally ajdksf). hand-holding. h&w being not at all hesitant abt committing a crime - a master detective who’s always used to solving one!! delicious.. it’s the story™ which perfectly captures the true essence of holmes’ character imho. and ‘a study of scarlet’ ofc. irene adler (nee norton) queen i love u. big shoutout to ‘the copper beaches’ also. i like all the stories with the ladies

3. hmm i do! fav one is - u guessed it - reading. to answer ur question: i looove doing henna!! every summer without practice i’d practice it on any hand i could find. i’m an amateur but still i like it. i haven’t been able to do it this summer :( on account of. me & my whole family has been sick/unwell in some way since the past month & a half or so. but i’m planning on applying mehendi or do a painting soon!! (i also liked to collect coins/stamps/buttons or some such as a child - i habit i’m always in danger of relapsing into but shh)

absolutely in love with this question anon EEEEE omg!!! you bring up such a good point, and not only that, but WHO is tattooing this teenager illegally, and how did touya meet them??? it raises a red flag for sure, but by the time touya begins getting his sleeves done (around the age of 16), rei already knows he’s been up to something illegal and dangerous for a good while now. those flags began waving when he started handing her wads of cash at the age of 14, to ‘help out with living expenses’—something rei vehemently insisted he did not have to do, and something he viciously ignored.

rei struggles with properly disciplining touya; he’s meticulously private and fantastic at hiding things, even as a teenager, and her word carries absolutely no weight in his mind. she can tell him to stop sneaking out until she’s blue in the face, but it’ll never make a difference; he’s doing what he wants to do, and what he feels is necessary to do, whether she likes it or not.

they get into a few blowout fights in his early teenage years, but it’s hard for rei to truly pin anything on him because aside from the ridiculous amounts of money he’s bringing home for a kid of 14/15, she’s got literally no evidence that he’s doing anything wrong. he swears to the heavens and back that he got a normal part-time job, and he’s so goddamn convincing that for a moment, she’s nearly gaslit herself into believing she made it all up, too paranoid and stressed out after everything that happened with the divorce. he seemingly isn’t missing school—his grades are still stellar, and she’s received no complaints from his teachers. he sneaks out at night, but she’s got no idea how he does it or where the fuck he goes, just that his bed is suddenly empty at the odd hours of the night. his desk drawer is always locked, and his bedroom is so minimalistic that she’s searched it thoroughly three times and come up completely empty-handed. he’s just too smart for her.

SO! when he starts coming home with tattoos, she’s definitely upset, but he makes the case that this is him reclaiming his body after everything that happened to him, and she finds it pretty hard to argue against that. touya knows how to wear his mother down quick, wielding wit, charm, slyness, and her love for him as his weapons, all while convincing himself that he is either in the right or doing it for her benefit.
