THERE IS A CONTEXT 

Some weeks ago I was looking for any kind of interaction between Lee and Shino (spoiler: there is NONE) but I found a cute episode of their teams working together to find insects, AND THEN:

I don’t know why Lee’s mind is obsessed with putting skirts on Neji and giving testosterone to Tenten (I can smell a chaotic bisexual energy) BUT I LIKE THAT

I wrote some Tenten/Hinata Post-War Fluff!

It's called "The Warmth of ire and the Warmth of Love." It was written for MultiHina week, hosted by @narutorarepaireventhub . This was originally going to be published earlier in the week for the prompt "Warmth," but I have been busy IRL.

Summary: Tenten and Hinata train for a while outside the Hyuga Clan compound. However, it starts getting chilly outside, so the two head inside to warm up.

As they rest inside, they rest by the fireplace and hey kiss, cuddle, and drink tea. Well, and they talk about how both the Hyuga Clan and the shinobi world are becoming better places. The future is looking warmer and brighter than it ever was before.

Kinda developed mutual crush after sparring when they were younger but being repressed pursue nothing

hinata has been getting marriage bids for a long time and her family expects her to do well for their status and bloodline. comphet ensues.

Tenten, logically, deals with this in a "lol avoidance is the best policy" kind of way. we're talking like post-first-chunin-exams to post-war levels of pining.

Tsukiyomi dream is pretty much the same, just going into more details. Just no Menma, it's too weird to rename only him and this is Tenten's dream

Tenten's love for their weapons. Recognizing her first attempt at crafting a blade among other tools that were probably atomized during the Pain attack. bc nothing in that genjutsu looked like new konoha to me and i want to play w them like dolls

add a bath house scene for. a dash of gay panic bc RtN!Hinata? in a bath house? with this weapon dork? RIP.

actually showing the invasion battle that the episodes literally cut through? tenten didn't even get to fight 😭

hinata strong internal homophobia AND transphobia

tenten dreams about the tsukuyomi world and feels bad about it in so many ways. neji is very much dead this feels wrong. being near RtN hinata feels bad and weird knowing irl hinata better now.

ino pulls the whole rookie gang together to hang out and just. see eachother. make sure everyone is still breathing because theyre all kind of war torn now yk? just makes tenten sad. neji was so snarky he'd make gatherings more fun for her by muttering snippy little quips.

feel restless after the war, dont want to go on missions and try to relax but so on edge. training helps some.

also coping w the new realities of team gai, starts training longer and harder with lee, because surely going to sleep dead tired and bruised will stop the dreams. surely.

examination of tenten's lack of known clan or family orphanned during the nine tails attack maybe? lord 3rd seems great at not telling the orphans he sponsors shit so probably knows nothing about her parents.

tw alcohol abuse

alcohol Does Not help, just get more sad and the dreams more nonsensical. blurring things together until eventually end up drunk in the middle of the night at neji's grave

fucking fist fight hiashi hyuga. SOMEONE has to throw hands w this man.

hinata happens upon the crying mess, takes back to tenten's apt, caring tender moments and drunken softness ensues. gender talk?

real?neji talks to tenten in this dream. scolds them for this bout of self destruction, critiques fighting form, and wraps tenten in a hug. telling her to take care and gives his blessing for the two of them.

wake up in hinata's arms

with naruto Very unavailable (narusasusaku supremacy), hinata realizing their feelings toward naruto were not romantic but kind of an admiration.. maybe bordering on obsession, with how confident he was. im still workshopping this bit tbh?

tenten goes on a mission w (spins wheel) lee and choji. and is thinking about Other Things

unfocused in combat, falls into a giant chasm or smth idk. lost injured, teammates need to send for tracker ninja.

team 8 :)

tenten comes to on hinata's back to the sound of kiba insisting they let akamaru carry the unconscious ninja. hinata doesnt seem to want to do that. tenten tightens her hold and doesnt feel hinata burning red.

gay sex. hinata is really into tenten's abs and tenten is a fan of hinata's fingers 🌚

At Hinata’s messy apartment.//3:04 PM

“Tendou,we’ve been like this for an hour..”Hinata sighed while in his boyfriend’s tight embrace,Tendou didn’t say much,he only smiled more. His lips curling up into a V

Hinata sighed again,there was nothing he could do,Tendou was extremely clingy after all,So they both sat there in eachother’s embrace,staring at the television

“Don’t you have practice anyway..?”Hinata asked,glancing at the redhead,Tendou only snickered before hugging Hinata tighter “Hey! come on…”Hinata gave in and rested his head on Tendou’s chest

“Ohehehe!”Tendou chuckled weirdly and kissed Hinata on the forehead(THEY’RE SILLY.) Hinata couldn’t help but blush and smile a bit before pushing Tendou away “D..Don’t do that!” Hinata stuttered and looked away

That didn’t help though,Tendou chuckled and and pulled Hinata way— closer “You can’t escape,number 10~” Tendou cackled as weirdly as he does

“Tendou! You’re so clingy…”Hinata mumbled while he kept his chin on Tendou’s shoulder”Only for youuu”Tendou ruffled the ginger’s hair and buried his face in it

“I love you..”Hinata mumbled while his face was tinted with red,Tendou pulled Hinata upwards so he could stare with his wide eyes,Of course Hinata chuckled softly while smiling at his boyfriend’s weird antics

“I adore ya!” Tendou smiled and closed his eyes before pressing his lips on Hinata’s,The two shared a moment until Tendou’s ringtone went off

Tendou jolted up as a result,He pouted and grabbed his phone,it was Ushjima. Tendou picked up with his normal smug expression “Yo waka waka chan!”…Hinata chuckled at the nickname.

“We have practice. in 15 minutes.” Ushijima bluntly spoke,Tendou looked at the ginger in his lap and frowned slightly “No worriesss~,Guess monster will make his appearance!”and with that the call ended

Hinata didn’t say anything,He was way too interested in the game playing on the television,Tendou snickered and buried his face back into his boyfriend’s hair before sighing and lifting his head up,still resting his head on the ginger

Tendou didn’t wanna go to practice but he was gonna see Hinata later right? He hoped so,He loves joking around with his ginger. Tendou sighed before reluctantly moving the ginger onto the sofa and off his lap,Hinata didn’t say anything,once again his eyes were glued on the screen

Tendou ruffled Hinata’s hair before walking out of his apartment,He was already feeling drained once he closed the door,he’s just that clingy.

Shiratorizawa Gym//4:30 PM.

The guys were in the locker rooms,changing back into their casual clothes “That spike was so cool!” Goshiki was already in his usaul mood of complimenting himself “It wasn’t that great.” Shirabu retorted and scoffed,putting on his jacket

“You two need to chill..”Semi was already dressed and ready to hit the road,He was tired of the daily saltiness “Come on,Goshiki did a good job!” Reon smiled,giving Goshiki a thumbs up,If nobody complimented Goshiki,Reon sure would

Tendou just chuckled at the scene as he put his hoodie on”We won today,as usual.” Tendou has his regular smirk on his face,They always won but he’d be happy even if they lost,that’s just how he is!

“Indeed we did.” Ushijima has his stern face as always,So serious but still Tendou’s best friend.

“Later waka chann~” Tendou waved as he walked out of the locker room,leaving Ushijima to the often occurring shenanigans

Back at Hinata’s messy apartment//11:03 PM.

Tendou unlocked the door with his spare key and walked in,closing the door behind him,Hinata was sleeping in a wild position on the couch,Tendou couldn’t help but chuckle to himself as He picked up the snoring ginger and walking to the lamp lit bedroom

“Meat buns…” The ginger seemed to dream about food,how typical. Tendou place Hinata on the bed,tucking him in before getting into the bed himself,”Good night,Number 10~” Tendou turned off the lamp and snuggled up to his lightly snoring boyfriend

Hinata’s bedroom//4:02 Am

Hinata was already out of bed,studying for whatever he had,Tendou of course was hugging him from behind,Hinata was sitting on his lap of course,Seriously,Tendou might as well be a chair!

“Tendou..I can’t focus with you snickering in my ear..”Hinata sighed and stopping writing on his notebook filled with gibberish,”Oops~” Tendou snickered some more,He wanted Hinata’s attention.

Hinata groaned out of frustration,He continued writing though,as he typed away on his computer,Tendou occasionally making some movement,He wanted Hinata to say something or atleast stare at him.

Of course,Hinata ignored him,Hinata couldn’t afford to fail a english test…He’s already got a 60 in the class,Any lower and he wouldn’t be able to play in any matches..”Number 10~”Tendou whispered into Hinata’s ear,Hinata couldn’t bear this anymore and turned to look at Tendou with an annoyed look

“Heeheh~”Tendou chuckled,Hinata sighed and hopped off Tendou’s lap,Turning his computer off and flopping on the bed face down,He loves Tendou but goodness ,this was super clingy..

Tendou pouted a bit and walked over the the exhausted ginger,rubbing his finger through his hair as he crouched down to the shorter male’s level”I love you shooo~” Hinata mumbled something into the sheets,Tendou didn’t understand a thing but snuggled next to his boyfriend in bed “You’re fun to tease!” Tendou proudly spoke before poking the ginger

Hinata sighed and raised his head,looking at the usaul V smile on the redhead’s face,He smiled reluctantly and looked away “hah! you’re a tomato!Tendou laughed at his own joke making Hinata laugh aswell

Who cares if Hinata fails,He loves this clingy redhead to death..

Every time I see any content of Hinaten I can't help but to think of Nanofate because of their voices. Both Tenten and Nanoha share the same voice actress, Yukari Tamura, while Hinata and Fate share the same voice actress, Nana Mizuki. They are so cute couple and literally hit every trope possible. They turned from rivals to best friends to lovers

They adopted a child who calls them both "mama".

And they sleep together on the same bed

Hiiii! I was going to ask the OTP question about nejiten BUT THEN I saw the hinaten in your tags *O* So, what would you think about hinaten for the 13 (What is their love language) if you are inspired? :D

I think for Tenten her love language is physical touch and quality time. I think Tenten is a very physically affectionate person in small ways, and she likes to just be touching knees or thighs when she's sitting next to someone, casually putting her arm around another person, etc etc. She's probably not a big hugger like Lee, because she doesn't like to be smothered and I don't see her as someone huge on big public displays of affection, so her way of being physically close to people is subtler. I think it very much flusters Hinata at first that Tenten is always near her, always touching her, but over time it grows into something she craves, and finds herself standing near Tenten so that she will brush against her, or sling an arm around her.

For Hinata, I think her love language is gift giving and quality time as well! Hinata loves to give gifts, and is good at it. She's a rich heiress and has an eye for quality. She doesn't buy a lot of gifts, but the ones she gets are very very good. She takes her time to get to know what a person likes and needs before betting them something. Tenten tries to refuse her gifts at first because she's not used to just recieving stuff, especially stuff that's as high quality as what Hinata gets her, but eventually just gives in and lets herself be pampered. At first it's usually weapon-adjacent things, but then Hinata gets her other things like a good shampoo, a nice outfit for training, cool earrings, high quality brushes and ink for sealing, etc.
