Note
a lot of people will probably bring the fact that dick is commonly used in a derogative way too.
This ignores a lot of social context like how many other generally derogatory words are associated with women like
hysterical (derived from greek for uterus: hystera)
bitch
pussy (when used to mean coward)
cunt (ofc)
slut
whore (comes from words from multiple germanic languages meaning things like prostitute and adulterer and eventually came to mean filth before becoming what it is now. idk this one has a lot of history actually and idk how to summarize it well just look it up if you're interested)
and more. There are also words that refer to women that are recognized as being inherently derogatory like spinster and old-maid. The way women have in the past and in modern-day been portrayed as villains for simply existing in the wrong way such as: visibly aging, single or childless. The way our culture encourages victim-blaming women and labels anything feminine as either weak or wrong. These words carry a lot more weight when you consider the sexism that surround them.
Meanwhile, words like dick do not have anywhere near the same weight even when used in the most derogatory manner you can think of. "dick" is common terminology for penises, not just a curse word. dick is mild enough that it can be and is commonly used as a nickname and sometimes as a birth name. It's not taboo to talk about dicks, and to some extent masturbation, not in the way it is to talk about vaginas. The fact that it wouldn't make sense for me to use cunt in this context instead of vagina even when I can use dick instead of penis because of its connotation is proof of that. dick can even be used as a compliment.
If you have, or want, a vagina, it's taboo to talk about it. It's considered slutty and improper to talk about sex or masturbation once you mention or if it's implied in any way that you have a vagina. you can get away with it if you're masc-presenting, but only if you don't mention vaginas too much, and it becomes less taboo if you talk about dicks even if you're more femme-presenting.
social context matters, the social context of sexism matters a lot and adds so much more weight to these words.
that anon who hates the word cunt doesn't realise that it's really weird to refer to a woman that way in Britain, do they? that's an insult that's used for men.
i mean yeah but i really would like to get back to the point that using a word that refers to "female" anatomy as a way to berate someone is sexist and we should stop doing it. like it's probably not going to happen, especially in countries where it's so normalized, but we could at the very least acknowledge the sexist origins.

!!!!!RISKY POST INCOMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE'S ILLUSTRATED EXAMPLES
Erotic art forms in Wardi culture largely center around a variety of visual arts and poetry.
Visual erotic art falls under a wide swath of materials, purposes, and uses. It ranges from art that exclusively intends to be pleasing to the viewer (while not necessarily outright Arousing) to art with utilitarian ritual functions. While Wardi culture has very strict standards and regulations around interpersonal Acts of sexuality, Depictions of sex (including acts that are frowned upon or severely taboo if actually performed) are not considered inappropriate or something purely for a private setting, and are something the average person is entirely accommodated to. As such, erotic art commonly has a place in everyday objects- drinking vessels, plates, oil lamps, pottery, etc- and in decoration- statuary, frescoes, textiles, mosaics, etc. It's not a Predominant theme, but most well-decorated homes will have at least a few erotic art objects.
There isn’t really a concept of 'pornography' in the sense of uniquely explicit art exclusively for the purpose of sexual gratification, but there are (often subtle) measures that distinguish a sort of ‘highbrow’ erotic art appropriate for public viewing (either in literal public areas, or in common areas of the home where guests can visit) and ‘lowbrow’ erotic art that is reserved for private areas of the home (and sometimes brothels).
This distinction revolves less around the explicit nature of the sex act, and more around What in particular is shown. Actual depictions of a spread vulva in a sexual context tend to be ‘lowbrow’ (note the distinction of the sexual context- some of the most common apotropaic motifs directly depict or heavily invoke a spread vulva). Visible depiction of the human anus is virtually always ‘lowbrow’, and is very rare in erotic art in general. Both organs are conventionally regarded as ugly, though the vulva has highly positive connotations of abundance and renewal while the anus is, at absolute best, a hole you can stick a penis into.
Depiction of sex acts seen as taboo or disgusting, inappropriate, (mutually) emasculating, or otherwise undignified occupy an ambiguous middle ground- too lowbrow for common public spaces, but appropriate in certain semi-public contexts due to their usually humorous and entertaining intent. Depicting shocking or widely mocked sexual practices often (at least ostensibly) seeks to elicit a comedic response from the audience. (Some examples on a diminishing scale of perceived severity- bestiality, rimming, a woman penetrating a man with a dildo, a man masturbating with a dildo, mutual fellatio between men, a man performing cunnilingus.).
---
The element of voyeurism is VERY significant to the Wardi concept of erotic art. Some art that wouldn’t even slightly be read as erotic by an outside viewer is squarely so by means of depicting people (usually women) in highly private domestic spheres which no one but close kin/spouses typically has access to. This can be evoked more easily and directly with women, who are expected to veil outdoors and in fully public settings, and to keep the hair braided everywhere outside of the private spaces of the home. This norm is strictly enforced among the upper classes and is followed fairly uniformly across class lines outside of the most extreme poverty (and some heavily rural settings). In a lot of instances, the only women any given person sees both without a veil and with unbraided hair on a regular basis (outside of their immediate family, or their wife) will be sex workers out in public. The depiction of a desirable, upstanding woman unadorned heavily implies the viewer's presence into a controlled domestic space (with undertones of sexual vulnerability), and has a distinctly erotic component.
It’s less the unbraided hair in of itself that is sexual (though this norm certainly leads to more people than average having sexual fixations on hair)- women in public with loose hair tend to be regarded more as lowly and unkempt than as objects of desire. The specific fantasy is that this is a woman of good standing in a private place and You are there, watching her.
In more explicit art, the hair being half braided during sex is a very common motif. It suggests that the process of the woman undoing her hair has been interrupted for sex, which can be compelling for viewers. It can imply her lover is so revved up that he could not wait once they both entered a private setting, as well as functioning as wish fulfillment in contrast to the tamer voyeuristic art- the viewer is no longer just looking in on the scene, but rather is invited to participate.
Tumblr media
Depiction of a young woman noblewoman unbraiding and combing her hair, executed by a highly skilled pottery painter. While there is nothing overtly sexual in this image, this would be considered erotic art. The viewer finds themselves looking in on a highly private scene of an upstanding, sexually desirable young woman, in a physical state that would likely only be seen by a husband.
---
Art objects depicting actual sex acts are common and come in great variety. The vast majority depict men with women, but all gender combinations Can be within the sphere of 'highbrow' public art.
Tumblr media
More work from the same painter depicting an older man and a beardless youth, who (for the sake of keeping this post up) could just be in a charged, artistically nude embrace for all you know. The youth is heavily implied to be a sex worker- he wears a short haircut typical of a teenage boy, but the presence of full sideburns indicate that he is well beyond puberty, possibly shaving a beard and keeping his hair short to maintain a youthful appearance. This visual performance is very typical of male sex workers, as means of attracting clientele predominantly interested in very young men. Though on the older side of the 'beardless youth' spectrum, his body is still conventionally desirable for a male partner. Neither the presence or the older man's cloak around his waist nor the youth's distinct lack of arousal is a desperate attempt to keep this post from being nuked (though my choice of this subject matter to begin with is), and instead represents actual artistic conventions. The older man's partly clothed state serves to dignify him in comparison to his partner and emphasize their difference in status. An unmistakable clarity of power differential is common in depictions of male homosexuality made for a mass public audience, allowing the image to be conventionally pleasing and attractive. Similarly, squarely 'highbrow' depictions of male homosexual acts tend to imply no sexual gratification on the part of a receiver, as the position is emasculating and shameful and this act is often described as being exclusively pleasurable for the top. The youth's function in this image is mainly to be a desirable male body and to glorify his partner in comparison. Depictions of more amorous/more power-ambiguous male homosexuality are conventionally acceptable, but largely relegated to the semi-private sphere, and are often intended and/or received as humorous in nature.
---
The above examples serve primary functions of pleasing the viewer with their imagery, but a wide swath of erotic art has simultaneous aesthetic and ritual/magical functions. Imagery in of itself is thought to have a degree of metaphysical power, and depictions of sex (and pregnancy/childbirth) on utilitarian objects often seeks to spiritually benefit the user in its use.
Tumblr media
A decorative ceramic oil vessel featuring a coupling man and woman. The imagery of this vessel has, aside from the typical blank expressions, a distinct sense of tenderness, with the couple positioned close together and holding each other's bodies. The smear of white on their foreheads represents amenchalme, a sanctified substance used to give blessings. This heavily implies that this is a wedding consummation (as a full blessing of the couple occurs at the end of the ceremonies). The wife appears to be pregnant, which is unlikely to be an implication that she was married while already carrying (which is generally shameful outside of cases of remarrying widows), but rather intends to show the act and its successful result simultaneously. Lotus flowers (symbols of renewal and fertility) and a stylized version of the abundance character (here doubling as roots) decorate the body of the vessel. This is a multi-purpose erotic art object. It has aesthetic beauty but does not intend to be titillating. Its imagery evokes the hope for a happy marriage and the fertility of the couple. While not a specific ritual object, it may serve ritual and/or folk magic functions regarding fertility and childbirth in its usage. It might hold oil rubbed to soothe a pregnant belly, or to give in home offerings during prayers, all while imparting a sense of the blessings it suggests onto the user.
---
Other erotic art serves entirely ritual functions, with no concerns for pleasing or titillating the viewer. Genitalia in complete isolation is almost always squarely apotropaic in function- the phallus is a symbol of masculine protection and transformation, the vulva symbolizes abundance and renewal, and imagery of both are thought to have protective natures.
Some simple imagery depicting human or animal mating has a sympathetic magical function (especially in folk magic, but also in some doctrinal religious practice) intending to compel fertility, conception, healthy pregnancies, and safe childbirth. The folk magic variants tend to be made by everymen who are not technically sophisticated artists. The concern is not aesthetic quality, but the magical functions of what is being depicted. These objects are also usually not intended to be actually seen, as they will be buried or hidden in a relevant location to work its intended effects.
Tumblr media
A pottery shard used for folk magic. The artist has little technical artistic experience and is partly literate. They have drawn their best representation of mating horses, accompanied by logograms that translate to 'horse' + 'abundance' and '(animal) fertility'. This will likely be buried within the pasture they graze their horses upon, in hopes of influencing more matings and healthy pregnancies in their livestock.
Tumblr media
Clay figurine used for folk magic. It similarly hopes to encourage conception, this time for humans. It could be for a specific pair of humans (in which case it may have their mingled blood baked into the clay, or be tied with their hair), or intended to benefit many. Writing may be present at the bottom- depending on the artist's literacy, it may contain anything between common logograms broadly communicating their wishes or a very specific idea (ie: "May my beloved wife Tsimanse Hippinoube conceive a son by me, and not by my wretched dogcunt of a neighbor Odebidinai Jannes (cursed be his name), and may her pregnancy be healthy and her birth be swift and safe, Odomache protect her and give her strength").
---
Wardi culture has a long history of poetic traditions, with its main two facets being epic and lyrical poetry (erotic poetry generally falls into the latter category). Being a talented lyrical poet is highly esteemed. Successful poets will have their works permanently recorded and disseminated for general use- read for entertainment at social events, weddings, ceremonies, and in private. Being a performer of poetry is its own field, and can be highly lucrative with skill, resources, and luck. Most professional performers are men, but learning to recite and sing poetry is a standard part of the education of most upper class girls as well as boys.
Erotic poems are generally a subset of love poetry, extolling the beauty of an object of affection or the speaker's desire (fulfilled or not) for them. Most erotic poetry revels in wordplay, avoiding direct descriptions of sexual acts in favor of cleverly implying them through careful wording and use of metaphor. These poems are considered entirely appropriate for public performance, though (unlike visual erotic art) the VERY high esteem of the poetic practice limits most conventionally accepted poetry to "highbrow" subject matter (it can be entirely explicit, but the acts and relationship dynamics it describes are relegated to cultural norms).
There's a separate subset of 'dirty' poetry (usually intended as comedic, though sometimes a form of invective poem), which mixes conventional flowery language with graphic sexual descriptions and heavy use of slang. Opinions are largely split on this variant, with the most socially conservative swaths of the population finding it to dishonor such a virtuous artform, with the less uptight response being "but its kinda funny tho"
The vast majority of successful poets are men, and most erotic poetry focuses on conventional targets of male attraction (primarily women, secondarily akoshos and beardless youths). However, erotic poetry can be one of the most accessible outlets to genuinely express un-socially accepted desires, especially due to the stylistic tendency to partly obscure its subject matter.

You should tell us about color psychology that sounds cool as hell
YES… HA HA HA… YES!
GGGOD I WISH I WASN’T OUT OF THE HOUSE RIGHT NOW. but i’ve been thinking about colors literally all day so you all get to be subject to my madness! sorry this is long and rambly wauaua. nightmarishly long post under the cut.
okay. first things first, a few basics. color theory and color psychology tend to get confused a lot in discussions, but they usually refer to different things. color theory is more about we physically perceive colors (color wheels and color schemes the like), while color psychology focuses on our emotional response to colors. if you’re familiar with the children’s hospital color theory post, that poster wasn’t actually talking about color theory, but color psychology (and also it’s incredibly surface level and heavily misunderstands the subject because in what fucking universe does the quantity of positive associations with a color matter more than the context it’s used in and sorry i have personal beef with this tumblr post).
color theory is also a special interest of mine but i’m not gonna touch on it too much here because it’s not entirely important. mmmaybe another time…
essentially, certain colors (and color combinations) have associations in our brains and that affect our behavior and emotions. these associations are also very much affected by the context a color is used in. colors don’t exist in a vacuum! so while red can symbolize passion and love when used in something like a dress or a bouquet of flowers, it has a very different connotation when it’s, say, splattered on the walls or smeared on the ground in a snail trail.
or for a less Children’s Hospital Themed example, i’ll put my euphrasie and king designs here!
Tumblr media
(of course the saturation and brightness of these blues play a massive part in how they’re perceived but this is not a post about color theory this is n)
and, of course, combining colors in a piece can also change their meanings!! i’m about to get real fucking normal.
i’m gonna be focusing on the color combo of red and yellow here because it’s the one that’s most relevant to my art (and also it’s really interesting.) basically, seeing these two colors together activates the part of our brain that controls our appetite, making us actually feel hungry. this is why so many food companies use red and yellow in their branding! it’s neat stuff!!
Tumblr media
also, if you’re familiar with it, this is why the mv for butcher vanity uses this color palette!! along with red’s general associations with danger and blood, the color combo also physically induces hunger. pretty fitting for a song about cannibalism!
Tumblr media
(there is also red’s association with lust and passion and how that intersects with the double meaning in the lyrics but i cannot derail this post into being an analysis of butcher vanity i’m sorry. we’d be here all week. maybe another day... wipes a tear from my eye)
and i think this might be the reason why some people feel hungry when they see my art, even when i’m not drawing food. while i don’t tend to use red outright, most of my art has very warm undertones (red-oranges and yellows especially), which could be activating that hunger response??
Tumblr media
(ah fuck color theory managed to weasel its way into this post again)
admittedly this part is just speculation on my end. i think my rendering style and Shapes also play a role in it, but it’s interesting for me to think about!!
this is only scratching the surface of how complicated colors can get. i was going to go on an entire tangent about color grading and how green lighting can make a scene feel unnerving but this post is already Too Fucking Long. aaaa super sorry if this is Rambly or hard to understand!! i’m not Entirely sure how much the average person knows about color theory and psychology so if there’s any confusing terms here i’m fine with adding stuff for clarity!
wauauuaa thank you so much for asking!!!! i love talking about colors.
tl;dr colors have a bunch of different emotions and meanings tied to them, but you’ve gotta pay attention to the context in which it’s being used. so maybe take a step back before you put that thick red trail on the floor of your children’s hospital.

Hello! First of all, love your work. Wonderful takes and analysis on the alpha trolls, and also i’m a big fan of sovstuck - both the text and the awesome cool art. I love that every character gets introduced with their own unique artstyle, each oozing with character :)
I wanted to ask, - and please believe that i’m asking in good faith, - about your proship dni. I’ve been seeing discourse about ‘pro/anti ship’ for ages now, but i cannot for the life of me understand what the hell either side stands for. First i hear it’s about abusive or problematic (pedo/incest) ships in general, then it’s about the difference of portrayal/endorsement of those things, then it’s something else entirely and i can never fucking understand what the hell the issue is and why it is so heated.
By no means i’m asking you to speak for the whole discourse or even for the entire ‘side’ of it - if there’s one thing i got, it’s that no one can agree on their definition of what ‘their side’ stands for. But i would like to know what meaning you put into the terms, and what kind of ‘proship’ you would like to not interact with you; i trust that you know what you believe in and are able to put it to words in a way that makes sense and doesn’t contradict itself or common sense, as i sometimes see :”)
I.. understand that since the topic is so divisive, you may get a ton of bullshit in your ask box and notes, should you choose to answer this, both from people who disagree and those who choose to misinterpret what you say. So feel free to ignore this ask if you don’t want to deal with that. Still, i do hope i can someday gain some clarity on this topic haha.
Best wishes!! thanks for what you do :)
Hello! Thank you so much, the compliments mean a lot! They really keep me going, lol!!
First of all, congratulations on formulating the most normal ask adjacent to this topic. Since it's so god damn touchy, people have a tendency to start throwing rocks no matter what "side" they're on, and no matter if they know what the hell they're talking about or not. Frankly, some of the ruckus surrounding this circus act is embarrassing. On both ends. Second of all, while this isn't something I'm an expert in, I do know more than I'd like, so I'd be happy to give my perspective, even if it's potentially a bit limited/flawed.
Thirdly, I'm putting this under a cut, for anyone who doesn't want to read all that.
Content Warning: Discussions of Shipping Discourse, Sexual Assault, Abuse, Grooming, Incest, and Pedophilia.
Let me start this by defining what the Relevant Terms mean:
Shipping: The act of pairing two or more Characters together. Though the term is derived from "Relationship", and therefore is at its core - technically, theoretically - a Neutral Term, it - conversationally, colloquially - carries extremely heavy Romantic Connotations, with a strong implication that said Romance is found to be appealing - typically in the sense of being either Cute, or Sexy. Defining this is not me trying to condescend you - One of the key questions in this discourse is what it means to "ship" something, and whether or not the term implies the shipper is condoning the material inherent to the ship.
ProShip: Essentially means "All For All Shipping". It's the personal, discourse-based identity label equivalent to the phrase "Ship And Let Ship". There's a common misconception floating around that the "Pro" in "ProShip" stands for "Problematic", rather than simply being the positive antonym to the prefix "Anti". While I find this to be a failure of basic deductive reasoning, I can also understand how the conclusion was reached - Proshippers are most commonly associated with "Problematic Content"/"Problematic Ships", and they do tend to take pride in being "Problematic" themselves. Either way, the word "Problematic" is highly associated with them and often reclaimed by them. They also call themselves "Anti-Antis" (horribly stupid label, by the way), and "ComShip(pers)", with the "Com" being short for "Complex". To my knowledge, ComShip is a sect specifically trying to get away from the baggage that the term "ProShip" holds, and away from the very real predator problem within the ProShip Community. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
AntiShip: Essentially means "Against Certain Forms of Shipping". It actually used to be a term for people who were against specific individual ships, rather than a blanket discourse label - for example, rather than someone identifying as just an "Antishipper", they would typically label themselves as "Anti-VrisMeen", or a "VrisMeen-Anti", or whatever their focus was. An important thing to note is that Antis trend Young, and they trend Traumatized. They are typically Teenagers, and their stances are largely informed by their discomfort watching Adults Sexualize Characters who share their age or younger, and discomfort watching people Sexualize some kind of Trauma they've been through - and considering their general ages, it's not unlikely that that Trauma is either Fresh or Ongoing. This is not always the case, but it's such a large amount of the AntiShip crowd, and it's acknowledged so little, that it's worth mentioning. It's a very important piece of context to me.
The general Belief Systems of both sides, as they currently stand, are as follows:
ProShip: ==> Never Harass Anyone Over Their Ships: This is the bones of their beliefs, and where everything started. Essentially, it's rude and unnecessary to send people Harassment over a Ship they enjoy, because not only could you be doing something better with your time, but also it can be pretty difficult to tell the "How/What/Why" of someone's interest in such material. ==> All Forms of Shipping Should Be Allowed, No Matter The Content: This is the meat of their beliefs, and also where the arguing starts. It's exactly what it says on the tin - Anything Goes, including Rape, Abuse, Incest, and Pedophilia. This is why the label is so touchy - many people are extremely uncomfortable with the idea of Fandom going back to its habit of uncritically normalizing + romanticizing Rape, Abuse, Incest, and Pedophilia. Part of this is due to the fact that this uncritical normalization has led to genuine, tangible harm on people in Fandom Spaces, particularly Minors. ==> Being Problematic Is Based: The skin of their beliefs. Many people wrap up Shipping Discourse in terms that make it sound like engaging in it is Political Praxis, somehow. While your stance on Shipping Discourse can certainly be telling of your Political Beliefs, in the way that your stance on literally anything can be telling of that, calling Shipping Discourse on its own some kind of Radical Political Stance is... Deeply silly, and also keeps leading to people saying "Being into Incest/Pedophilia is Queer Nature", like, unironically. I keep seeing this happen. This part of it tends to be very... Spite-driven. ==> Fiction Is Not Reality: Basically their catchphrase - nothing that happens in fiction is real, and therefore has no tangible effect on reality.
AntiShip: ==> Please Tag Your Content Appropriately And Keep It Out Of The Reach Of Minors: The bones of their beliefs. Self Explanatory, typically followed up with "and if you can't do that, don't post/make it at all". To further illustrate this, I'd like to spark any reader's memory of the times where you couldn't Google search "Fluttershy" without being lambasted with hardcore porn. No additions of "R34", or "NSFW", just "Fluttershy". There was no SFW Filters. You just had to fucking fight for your life. Being a child on the Internet is and was extremely rough. There wasn't any Official Tag Filtering on Tumblr until... I think 2017. It was dark. ==> Abuse/Rape/Incest/Pedophilia Should Not Be Considered "Shipping": The meat of their beliefs. Essentially, these are extremely heavy, delicate topics meant to be treated with respect and tact, or not handled at all. This is not possible in Shipping Content. At least, not as we currently understand it, and will likely remain understanding in that way for years to come. They argue that Fanfiction is not ever going to be on par with Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita. Which is true. They also argue that it's impossible for most Fanfictions to treat these sensitive subjects with any respect, which is... Dubious, but also fair, considering the Sturgeon's Law of it all. ==> Ewwwww...: The skin of their beliefs. Disgust. It's a whole lot of disgust. Again, worth reiterating that the bulk of AntiShippers are quite Young and/or Traumatized, and the content they are reacting to tends to be Extreme, so a gut response of disgust is... Honestly, healthy. No 15 Year Old should be stumbling upon art of a child getting frisky with their dad and going "hell yeah, brother!". Though I wish they'd handle their disgust with more tact, I find that it's just... A fair response, given their age, what their backstory tends to be, and what content they tend to be reacting to is. ==> Fiction Affects Reality: Not necessarily their catchphrase, but definitely their counterpoint to the catchphrase of ProShippers. They do not say Fiction is real, just that it does literally have a tangible effect on reality, and point to cases where this is observable. The impact Jaws had on real life sharks is a favorite, as is The Birth of a Nation, and The Turner Diaries. And, of course, the ways that the works put out by ProShippers has tangibly affected the lives of others, especially children.
It is worth noting, I am neither of these things. I do not identify as a ProShipper, nor do I identify as an AntiShipper. I identify as a Horror Writer. I have "DNI: ProShip" in my bio because their stances make me the most uncomfortable, and I have been victimized personally by members of their crowd and the result of their beliefs.
I was Groomed by an Adult ProShipper when I was 14 Years Old. She used her ideologies as a ProShipper to excuse herself and the (sexual) content she forced me to Roleplay with her, and used it to pressure me into writing more and more extreme content. I did not want to do it even at the time - it made me uncomfortable - but she made the idea of saying "No" to her... Quite scary, and like I was the one in the wrong for being uncomfortable with it. After all, Fiction Isn't Reality, right? I am not the only person I know with this experiences. I have met and spoken to countless - and I mean countless - individuals who have had similar experiences with that crowd. The sheer distrust kids and teens tend to have towards them is learned through that crowd's propensity towards grooming them. Because the celebration and normalization of that content breeds comfortability with "the real deal", and comfortability with harboring predators.
I'm sure some ProShippers have noble intentions, and don't realize what the controversy is about. I'm sure some of them are deeply out of the loop, and still think it only means "Being Anti-Harassment". But I do not care enough to give people the chance, just... For the sake of my own sanity. You understand, I'm sure. I do not think that this rift between worlds is ever going to get closed, or that these sides are going to experience amicability, because the question is nuanced and about morality itself, and one side is full of defensive, traumatized teenagers trying to keep themselves and their friends safe from what they are perceiving as legitimate threats to their safety, and the other side is full of people who just wanna jerk it to weird porn.
I'm not personally comfortable with, like, any self-identified ProShipper being near me, just due to my own experiences. Some might try to identify me as one against my will, due to the fact that I am Anti-Harassment and a Horror Writer unafraid to touch upon every single one of the aforementioned sensitive topics, but... I am simply not one, because I don't identify that way, I don't believe in their beliefs, and they creep me out, lol.
My beliefs are that people should be able to write about whatever they want, as long as they handle things with the appropriate amount of care, and as long as they keep things tagged appropriately. I think that harassing people for shipping Stridercest in fucking 2024 is lame because you could be doing literally anything else with your time, and I think shipping Stridercest in fucking 2024 is lame because you could be doing anything else with your time. Like, come on, man, it's not even interesting. They're not even doing anything interesting with it. Where are the themes? There are no themes. It's just brothers mackin' on each other whitely. Come on.
No topic should be off limits, but you should at least give it the care and respect it deserves, and you should make it interesting. Nothing is interesting on its own. Rape is not interesting on its own. Incest is not interesting on its own. Abuse is not interesting on its own. Pedophilia is not interesting on its own. Taboo subjects are not interesting on their own. They're mundane evils that happen literally every day to regular people. In writing, they need to be paired with themes, and, hopefully, with good writing. People who have been through these things deserve not only to have their trauma represented, but handled with care, and also for it to be interesting to read. They deserve to have options. They deserve to have good literature to chew on, to help them digest and cope with their own trauma. It's difficult to do that when you feel invisible to everything but the camera lens of a Fetish Pornographer, and I know many people who are suffering with the fact that their traumas seem to only ever be represented or referenced in shitty pornography.
Sure, some people cope with their own trauma by sexualizing it. I know that's the case for some ProShippers, and their reason for being within that group. But it's certainly not everyone's method of coping, and it shouldn't be the only option... Which is why I'm advocating for safe, non-fetishized exploration of extreme themes.
I think the reason why the discourse is so unclear is because "ProShip" and "AntiShip" aren't very tangible, definite belief systems, and also the talking points are evolving and maturing over time. A few years ago, the beliefs of "Antis" definitely broadly leaned more heavily towards total rejection of those themes being present in any fiction, but their arguments seem to have matured lately into "the problem is the nature of the depiction, not the presence of depiction itself".
That's all I can think of saying right now that wouldn't just be me walking in circles. And don't worry, I can definitely take the hit. I'm not sure what here could be very arguable other than semantics, or maybe a history lesson or two.
Thank you for the ask! Hope this helps!

How to write the heat?
Quick Tips on How to Write Heat
Heat can have many connotations in your stories beyond just temperature. It can be a sensation, an event, or even a metaphor for something else. The way a character internalises or experiences heat will also be unique to them, so here are some quick tips on how to use imagery to convey heat in a variety of ways.
In Nature
Use colours like red, yellow, or orange
Parched scenery, like cracked earth and dry leaves
Bright sunlight
Mirages
Blistering winds
Heat waves radiating from hot asphalt
Animals huddling in the shade
Wide and barren landscapes
Hot sand to contrast with cool water
Wilting vegetation and a change in colour
The sound of cicadas
Foods and Objects
Hot peppers with bright colours
Spicy dishes (and how characters handle them)
Melting ice cream and frozen drinks
The sizzling sound of food in a hot pan
The smell of a barbeque
Cold drinks that provide relief
Flip flops, shorts, and tank tops
Sunscreen and hats
Metal and leather that is too hot to touch
Salt or minerals left on surfaces after liquid evaporates
Faded colours on objects left in the sun
Peeling paint
The hiss of steam from a kettle
Character Moods
Short-tempered
Lazy
Discomfort
Easily frustrated
Disinterested
Relaxed
Energised
Joyful
Exhausted
Adventurous
Anxious
Fearful
Irritable
Lethargic
Contemplative

Shedding layers of clothing
Unconsciously moving toward the shade
Constantly drinking
Breathing heavily
Squinting or shielding eyes
Flushed skin
Panting or shallow breathing
Avoiding physical contact
Actions and Events
Seeking shelter during a heatwave
Roadtrips in a hot car with the windows open
Swimming at a pool, lake, or a beach
Sharing drinks with friends at a cafe, bar, or beer garden
Planning holidays to cooler climates
Staying indoors to read to watch TV where it’s cool
Watching the sunset or sunrise when it’s cooler
Going out at night to avoid the heat of the day
Beach parties and barbeques
Wildfire warnings
Outdoor markets and garage sales
Camping trips
Positive Aspects
Heat can be a time of joy, where families and friends can enjoy time together doing outdoor activities not available to them the rest of the year. Food becomes lighter, the days are longer, and people tend to get more exercise. There are also positive ways to describe the juxtaposition of something hot after immediately experiencing the cold, like a hot drink on a cold day.
Negative Aspects
Not every association with heat is positive. Hot weather brings environmental damage like droughts and wildfires that affect agriculture and wildlife. It can also lead to physical discomfort, like heat rash, dehydration, sunburn, sleep disruption, or being forced to work or exercise in uncomfortable environments.
Helpful Synonyms
Scorching

Has Son Wukong's species of monkey ever been established? Or if not, what was the popular "fanon" ?
If you mean "the novel outright said what species of monkey he is according to 16th century classifications", no, I don't think so.
However, JTTW Research had a post about SWK's appearance where an anthropologist, Francis D. Burton, was quoted, suggesting that his "fiery eyes and golden pupils" might be inspired by IRL red-rimmed eyes of Rhesus macaques.
Now that the actually useful part of the answer was over, allow me to infodump about apes and monkeys in Chinese stories and their influences on SWK.
Namely, there are two major inspirations that merged together in the formation of JTTW: the "northern school" of the Monkey Pilgrim who accompanied Xuanzang on his journey, and the "southern school" of multiple simian demons, usually with the "Great Sage" title, being menaces and stealing shit/kidnapping women.
The native ones, especially the women-stealing tales, tend to feature apes/long-armed gibbons instead of monkeys, since they have more positive connotations in Chinese literature as this mystical, hermit-like figure.
Monkeys, however, are viewed in a more dismal manner and as more clown-like. Yet the simians that appeared in Buddhist sutras and Jakata tales are often monkeys/macaques instead of apes.
So SWK is kinda an amalgation of these two story cycles, an ape/monkey hybrid of sorts. In the original 1592 novel, he was also referred to using both "stone ape" and "stone monkey".
Personally, I like this "SWK is his own thing" approach better, a fantastical simian that blends both ape and monkey traits.

since wolf 359 is a show that puts so much emphasis on names / what people are called when / "first name moments", it puts hera in an interesting position that she only has a first name. you could maybe say the closest thing to a first name moment that she gets is in idle hands, when eiffel regains his mind, but the connotations are still a little different - it is an indicator of closeness / a significant relationship, but it isn't a shift in that relationship. i think part of the significance of first names - for anyone, when used sincerely - is the subtext of speaking to the person rather than the job they perform, but hera's name has additional stakes and significance for her when being called by her name is the baseline level of respect indicating who sees her as a person at all.
so, with that context, the other moment that interests me is the only time someone ever addresses her by rank: when minkowski calls her "officer" in let's kill hilbert. from minkowski in particular, that's also an acknowledgement of her personhood - evoking "she was a member of my crew." and i don't think this is just an honorary title bestowed by minkowski, either; in the most technical sense, i think hera probably does have a rank on the station. hera's programming restricts how she can address station officers. commonly, she addresses minkowski and lovelace as "commander" and "captain" when talking to them, and "commander minkowski" and "captain lovelace" when talking about them, while most other people she tends to refer to by both name and rank. she drops kepler and jacobi's titles after the mutiny.
but eiffel she calls (both when talking to him and about him) "eiffel" and "officer eiffel" interchangeably. (she never calls him just "officer.") in a practical sense, this helps communicate that her relationship with him is more casual - and in am i alone now? when she's talking 'to' him but not really to him, she calls him "doug", which has a whole other set of implications for how she thinks about him, when in that same monologue she still says "commander minkowski" and "doctor hilbert." - but… i think it's also pretty reasonable to assume that her rank is functionally the same as his, and that part of why she's more comfortable with him even early on is that he quite literally does not have the same authority over her that everyone else does.

While some people have a thrill of being humiliated, that isn’t you. You love expressing your feminine side like a girl, but you’re comfortable identifying as male. Maybe “femboy” is what fits you best. Feminine boy. That’s a better name, don’t you think?
Every generation embraces a new term that resonates with them. The term “femboy” is prevalent among Generation Z and cuspers as a way to define a cis or trans male who expresses themselves in a form that is typically associated with femininity. The picture in the pic, as well as my previous caption pic, are examples of how femboys tend to dress and express.
While I don’t identify as a femboy, I much prefer to use this term to refer to feminine males as opposed to sissy. Femboy has a more positive connotation since most want to explore their feminine side without feeling humiliated by doing so. It’s also a way for them to reject societal norms of what it’s meant to be a “real man”. But in some cases, being a femboy has also served as a bridge for them to find a possible transgender identity as it’s quite common for femboys to take HRT to feminize their appearance.
There is no shame of wanting to be feminine. Everyone should have a chance to explore their opposite sides once in their lives. The whole point of my blog is to encourage others to love femininity, regardless of what gender they identify with.

Color Psychology & Venus
Color psychology: "a popular area of color theory that assigns emotional and psychological connotations between colors and emotions" (via)
Here, I will be associating Venus signs with colors using color theory. The colors I choose for each placement is solely based on my opinion, combined with the psychology behind them and the effect they have on our emotions.
This post can be interpreted in a lot of different ways. Venus represents beauty, art, aesthetic, attraction, and so much more. You could interpret this as; what colors you should wear in order to attract love, what color you should paint your bedroom, what color makes me think of your sign, what color should your aesthetic be or what color your aesthetic reminds me of. It's up to you.
Depending on how you want to interpret this, don't be afraid to check out what color your Sun, Moon, or Rising sign is too. If you disagree or dislike my opinion then that's okay, after all it’s just an opinion. You know yourself best and this only based on a few placements :)
Aries Venus - I associate people with Aries as their Venus sign with the color Amber. The color Amber and Aries Venus share a lot of similar traits; they are both energizing, bold, and both are associated with frustration and anger. Like Aries Venus, Amber attracts people who are friendly and fun-loving. This color can really light up a room and bring out the happier side of people, just like this placement.
Taurus Venus - This Venus placement shares similar traits with the color Fuchsia. Fuchsia inspires confidence, maturity, and assurance. Similar to Taurus Venus, Fuchsia tends to be more responsible and has a naturing and loving undertone. You can pair this color with Lime Green to bring out its playful side or keep it sophisticated by pairing it with shades of tan or gray. People with Fuchsia as their favorite color are usually people that believe in living life from their own viewpoint rather than doing what other people say they should.
Gemini Venus - Gemini Venus natives are known to be inquisitive and outgoing in relationships and they're known to seek out experiences. Gemini Venus are extroverted and energetic, and are always down for an adventure. Like the color, Chartreuse. Similar to this color, if used in abundance it can trigger anxious emotions. People who are attracted to Chartreuse are known to be creative, positive, and have the ability to make friends effortlessly.
Cancer Venus - I associate this placement with the color Lilac. Lilac is connected to femininity and represents the ability to be caring, nurturing, helpful, and emotional. Like Lilac, Cancer Venus has the ability to soothe and calm their friends, family, and partners which can be attributed to their connection with motherhood. Both Lilac and Cancer Venus are arguably the most compassionate and mindful of all.
Leo Venus - Leos, being a fixed fire sign at their core, remind me of the color Maroon. Maroon, like Leo, is distinct and has a lot of personality. We all know Leo Venus goes after what they want, whether that be in love or with material things. They're bold and confident especially in love. Similarly, Maroon is known for being passionate and confident. But it comes with a warning; spending too much time with the color Maroon can lead to high blood pressure and adrenaline...
Virgo Venus - Virgo Venus people have a reputation for being serious in love and their mutable energy brings variety to who they pair well with. These natives can be very private people which can make them hard to get to know fully, unless they want you to know them fully. Nonetheless, Virgo Venus is reliable in love and appreciates practicality and maturity. That's why this placement reminds me of the color Gray.
Libra Venus - When I read the psychology of the color Champagne, I knew it belonged to Libra Venus. The color of celebration, class, and love. Libra is naturally ruled by Venus but with this specific placement, it only intensifies the Venusian qualities. That's why the color Champagne is perfect for these natives. Champagne is often associated with loved-filled occasions; weddings, Valentine's Day, anniversaries, and New Years. Champagne is the color of endearment and intimacy.
Scorpio Venus - I feel like the only color to really embody Scorpio Venus people is Ebony, the color of sophistication and mystery. Ebony is not only linked to maturity and fertility, but is a very powerful spiritual color. Like this color, there's no denying Scorpio Venus and their intensity in love. They are devoted, sexy, and share an elegance that's loved by many, especially royalty.
Sagittarius Venus - Sagittarius Venus people are loved by many because they're optimistic, generous, and confident. Being ruled by Jupiter, success and prosperity follows Sagittarius placements wherever they go. The color Gold was made for Sagittarius Venus. Gold is perky, positive, and bold. Even though they both can be a little flashy, they also have another side to them. Gold and Sagittarius, in any placement, is often associated with spiritual and religious connotations.
Capricorn Venus - Stability, wisdom, and reliability all come to mind when I think of Capricorn Venus. These traits are also associated with the color Brown. Brown is strict and inspires an organized and productive environment. Some colors, just like some Venus signs, are known for being flashy and spontaneous. Brown, like Capricorn Venus, is reserved and respectful which is why it's relied on by many.
Aquarius Venus - I associate this Venus sign with Cobalt, which represents ingenuity, solitude, and thinking outside of the box. Aquarius Venus has a reputation for being aloof, but really these natives just appreciate their freedom. Like Cobalt, Aquarius Venus can have troubling expressing their emotions. Despite this, open-mindedness and wisdom remain their strengths.
Pisces Venus - What would Pisces Venus people be without their empathy and creativity? Like the color Violet, these natives are lovers and can't stand to be in an environment with hatred and arguments. Pisces Venus natives have a vibe of peace and harmony that's contagious to others just like the color. Both Pisces Venus and Violet share the ability to uplift others and inspire deep spiritual transformation.

How would I go about portraying an autistic character in a world where there wouldn’t be the terminology for that sort of thing? It’s a fantasy novel that mostly surrounds fairies, and I’m considering having her family think she’s a changeling (something I know has ableist roots and could be shown to be wrong as she’s just an autistic human)
Hello, thanks for your question!
Using pretty direct Autistic coding would be your best bet for making the character as obviously Autistic as possible without having the in-world terminology for it. This could include showing the character stimming, having distinct speech patterns from the rest of the cast, experiencing shutdowns or meltdowns when relevant, fixating on particular interests, keeping a regular routine (and getting upset when it's disrupted), and reacting more strongly to sensory input than the rest of the cast, among other things. Readers who are Autistic or otherwise familiar with Autism will probably clue in quite quickly if you depict these kinds of traits.
While the idea of changelings being equated with disabilities--and Autism in particular--has grown in popularity over the past decade, I would still advise a lot of caution in associating Autistic characters with changelings. While some Autistic people (especially those of us outside of Europe where changelings originated) do identify with changelings due to feeling othered by society, many of us don't because of the negative context of the original changeling stories. I feel that the real-world history behind the stories should be taken into serious consideration before drawing any direct parallels between disabled people and changelings.
Though it's absolutely plausible that the changeling stories did potentially originate as ways to explain the presence and development of disabilities in children as many theories argue, the changeling stories themselves don't frame changelings in a positive or even neutral light--changelings are creatures you absolutely do not want in your home or family and are seen as undeserving burdens on a family's hard-earned resources. There are documented historical instances of people--adults and children alike--being beaten, abused or murdered just on suspicion of having been changelings. I feel that this context is often lost outside of Europe, as we don't always realize that changelings were taken very seriously, especially in rural communities, and were not just harmless bedtime stories.
Because of this, I would suggest that, if you go the changeling route, you take the time and effort to portray it as a particularly dehumanizing and potentially dangerous form of ableism, and approach the subject with delicacy. Otherwise, if your portrayal of fairies in your story is not negative the way they tend to be when associated with creatures like changelings, you could keep the foundations of the changeling story--a human replaced by a fey creature--but tweak the perceptions your character's society might have around them, and perhaps change the name to something that doesn't evoke the same connotations as the changeling.
Other Autistic people are welcome to add their thoughts!

pairing: bucky x reader (non gender specified)
content: bucky is dealing with trauma as a result of his time as the winter soldier, you accidentally get caught in the crossfire. (references to physical harm, mentions of violence, inferred ptsd symptoms and trauma, etc). also slight stucky if you squint bc i know theres fans out there.
notes: ive thought about trying to put this into words for so long, i hope it translates well. i may do a part two if the people want it. pls read the content warning above and steer away if this may trigger you.
word count: 1.8k
.·。.·゜✭·.·✫·゜·。.
In recovering from the absolute torture that was Bucky’s life the last few years—there were few moments of solace. The worst being the slight feeling of peace before all of his progress abruptly drained back to zero… before he’d been reminded of a trigger.
Something would suddenly pop into his brain—betraying him—and he’d be forced to physically and metaphorically swat the idea away. The problem, though, was that this soldier was doing what any good one does, fighting. James Buchanan Barnes knew what it was to be a good man, a good soldier. But the Winter was more formidable than ever.
Whenever the opportunity presented itself, the assassin had to make an attempt at clawing its way out.
The attempts weren’t infrequent.
Bucky would sit by the window, unable to sleep. He would often be forced to watch the sunrise. Daybreak. He’d long committed the color of the sun meeting the skyline to his memory and with it the unfortunate feeling of his companion wanting to make an appearance.
Whenever he’d volunteer to build something. The screws, bolts, and nails would be shiny enough to reflect Bucky’s face back to him. An image he’d hate to observe, of course. All he could see in them was potential, though. Positive connotations escaped him in this instance because all he could see was an opportunity for destruction…natural wear and tear…oxidation. Like him, these pieces of metal existing just meant that there was a chance to become worn. To decay. To become something bad…rusted.
Numbers were the hardest to avoid and he realized just how often something can torment you when it becomes a thing you hate. One, nine, seventeen. Nine, seventeen, one. Seventeen, one, nine. In any order or occurrence these numbers seemed to follow him as close as his shadow—if not more so. He’d become particularly hateful towards one. The casual “one second,” “one moment,” and “I’ll call you back in one minute” seemed to linger in his brain for far too long.
Freight car. Attempts to get out more proved futile. No matter how far he tried to get away, the sound of rumbling would fill his ears. He knew the sound too well. Bucky knew the feeling of air leaving your lungs. He’d grown accustomed to the feeling of falling. He felt it every day.
The thing about falling is that when it occurs for long enough it almost feels normal. That slight weightless feeling and euphoria tricked Bucky the first time it happened. That was until he hit the ground. In experiencing one or more of his triggers every day, the feeling of weightlessness returned—so consistent that in a weird way, Bucky felt as if he’d won. He could no longer be shocked by the initial stomach drop if he continued to propel towards something nonexistent. He could no longer be surprised by the euphoria if the impact never came…if he never hit the ground. To him, if it happened so frequently that you were no longer taken aback, you’d beaten your triggers right?
He couldn’t be more wrong. He was terribly so.
If there was one thing Bucky learned and ignored in his various therapy sessions is that acting like something isn’t there is not…ideal. Having this being claw and tear at him left him with metaphorical lesions that he wasn’t tending to. People tried. There was never an interaction for which Steve wasn’t looking at his best friend with longing. Longing for the stoic and confident man he once knew. This person was a shell. Even with all the progress, he would never forget the one person he had left seeing him as nothing more than a mission. One only wonders how he’d feel to know that Bucky sees every day as one, a mission, an attempt to not crash the fuck out. (That was something new he learned, suited him for sure).
Again, people tried. Without even realizing it, you tried.
The day you met Bucky, he just seemed grumpy to you. “Valid,” you’d thought with a shrug. There wasn’t really much to not be grumpy about these days. Yet, you flashed him a smile that warmed his insides—and not in the usual evil entity trying to escape way.
In the darkest of days inside his mind, he found something to aspire towards just knowing you walked this planet.
You’d known each other for a while before it became anything serious; he was reasonably weary of getting close to anyone for fear of dragging them down with him. But, he promised he’d never hurt you—every time he uttered the phrase in passing you shrugged him off, reassuring him that you knew.
“James, we both know you wouldn’t hurt a bee—“ you stopped to point to him, his brow arched as you knew it’d be. “And I know that's not the phrase, okay! You’re an old man and you know all the platitudes.”
Bucky stood to meet you in the center of your shared apartment, “what does that have to do with you saying the phrase wrong?”
“My point,” you said, tapping his nose for emphasis, “is as I said.” You snaked your arms around him, “you wouldn’t hurt a bee.” You locked eyes with him, “because even if a bee was attacking you, swarming all around you, and wanting to hurt you…you still wouldn’t hurt it. You wouldn’t swat your hand or anything. Some may say that's just stupid…but I think it pretty much sums up the person you are. I know that. You know that.”
You pecked his lips and walked away.
Bucky was left speechless and almost teary-eyed by your analogy. But that was you, trying…without trying. He owed it to you to try, too.
The thing about that is, there was still so much for him to uncover. He had fallen for so long, he knew that. He’d been traumatized for so long without saying anything.
He had nightmares that only went away when he stopped sleeping altogether. It had been so long since he truly rested that he let himself forget about that inconvenience.
Tonight, he decided, was the night he would face his fears by being well-rested to take on the next day. He mumbled to himself, “One day at a time, right?” He slipped into bed with an excitement he hadn’t really expected. It wasn’t long before sleep overtook him.
_______________________
He woke suddenly to screams. A woman? The high-pitched and erratic yells made his head hurt worse than he’d ever experienced.
“What the hell is happening?”
He turned in bed to see you not there, which immediately made him spring into action. Calling your name and getting no response anywhere in the apartment was enough to make him want to cry. But the screams. They were coming from outside, not in.
He looked out the window to see if he could see what was going on and oh my gosh.
With no shoes, he ran. He felt as if the stairway was endless. The pain of the asphalt was nothing in comparison to the pit in his stomach as he ran directly towards it. Towards your car wrecked. Completely wrapped around a tree. How could this happen? The one time he’d gone to sleep.
Nobody was helping you. Your car literally sitting with you inside motionless. There was no time to think, he ripped the door off. He reached for you, pulling you from the car. He knew CPR but everything was escaping him, it seemed.
He pleaded and yelled for someone to help, realizing that your body was much more limp and cold than ideal right now. He repeated “no” more times than he’d ever in his life. He clung to you, squeezing you, praying for a miracle. But there was nobody. He clawed at anything; your clothes quickly became battered. He was so confused. His head met your chest, his attempt at trying to wish you back to life. Back to him. But the look in your eyes was so—wait. Not your eyes…
The “no, no, no” repeated again, without him even trying. He felt a scratching at him. A darkness enveloped him and his surroundings and his hand…
His hand was on someone's neck. No. A man.
He remembered this. His body working against itself to execute orders. His mind fighting within its own skull to erase the memories of James.
James
It repeated faintly in his mind, and yet as much as he grasped for it he couldn’t seem to reach it.
James
It was getting lower. He tried, he was trying. He felt it pounding at him. Suddenly, that familiar jolt. But rather than an electric current pulsing through his body in an attempt to disconnect him from reality, he’d finally have to face this one.
He was sleeping. No, he was dreaming. The voice inside his head, you, calling to him in a plea to stop. The James that would never hurt a bee, had hurt you.
He fell back quickly, feeling himself glossed over in sweat. He looked to you, speechless, bruises already forming on your arms. He clung to you, squeezing you.
Bucky sobbed immediately, reaching to console you. You moved back before even processing it. The flash of hurt in his eyes moved you, but your fear kept you at a distance.
“Did I,” he mumbled, “did I ch-“ he couldn’t get the word out.
You shook silently, eyes shifting to the bedpost that was now clearly disfigured…a set of fingers printed along it. His hands on someone's neck.
You were lucky, a split second and some scratching and you were able to get some distance between you. Even there, you didn’t feel settled. You witnessed your boyfriend, grasp what could’ve very easily been your neck and squeeze with an ease so unsettling that you had no choice but to try and stop him. Despite all the advice you heard to never wake someone this way, you knew he’d been hurting. You hit him, as hard as you could. He tried, he was trying. He felt it pounding at him.
“I am,” the man inhaled, “more sorry than I can ever begin to express to you. I don’t know what happened.” You observed him slowly rise to his feet, clearly drained. “I made you a promise. Who am I… if I can’t let that be true?”
Bucky moved silently and quickly, ignoring your voice calling out to him. Even in shock, you were trying. You tried.
Within minutes some people you recognized started to look you over—empathy in their eyes. You drowned out their medical talk, looking for Bucky, noticing he slipped out without a word.
People tried. He tried. But the scars of the Winter Soldier had become so big that they’d inadvertently grown. Like roots—weeds—they festered and spread to the ones he loved.
He didn’t know what to say to you, or if he could ever be with you ever again. But he watched from a distance, observing you be tended to like a fresh garden. The weeds seemed to dwindle. While still there, he knew that at the very least—he wasn’t contributing to your stunt growth. Without him, you could blossom into so much more.
(ps. sorry about the emotional scarring 💀)

Hi! 👋 I enjoy your work a lot! 🩷 Could you do Haganezuka and Muzan x chubby female reader with breeding kink? These two are my favourites. 🥰 Remember to take care of yourself and rest a lot! 🩵🫂
Thank you! As a heavier person myself, it warms the heart to see requests for this. As a disclaimer, any word choices in this are based off of the positive connotations I have for them. None of them are meant as insults or in degrading ways.
(Doing headcanons cause that’s what the brain worm has blessed me with.)
Breeding Kink HCs W/ Chubby!Reader
Tumblr media
Muzan Kibutsuji
King of demons, and of breeding kinks.
While he tends to go for wives who are on the skinnier side to keep up with appearances and social norms of the time, his own personal preferences lie in mid-to-heavy set women.
And it’s not just because they have more nutritional value
Especially likes having you sit on his lap when in his female form, the both of you all dolled up and looking elegant and poised as all get-out.
Definitely digs his fingers into your hips as much as possible when he has you in his arms, feeling for the fat there almost obsessively. Just really likes having you tangibly in his hands, and your extra weight is comforting to him in a way.
It also means he doesn’t have to be as gentle, he can just grab you and it won’t hurt as much as it would with someone who didn’t have the cushion.
Is obsessed with having you ride him, feeling you drop down repeatedly on his cock in such a way that has you both holding on for dear life.
Forces you to take his cum deep inside, and doesn’t let you clean up until long after your sessions. Isn’t above plugging you up with something to keep his essence nestled in there…
His breeding kink is also a sort of possessive thing, a way to mark you as completely and utterly his. No one else can have you, no one else can cum inside you, no one else can have the chance to give you a child.
That’s a privilege reserved for him, and him only.
Your plump body is made for bearing his children, and he’ll see to it that that happens.
Hotaru Haganezuka
Hotaru has such a preference for heavier set body types, it’s pretty endearing with how he acts when he sees you looking so perfect and plump.
Even after being together for months or years, he just never tires of that perfect body of yours.
Favorite pastime? Shoving his face into your thighs. Total nose-dive right into them. It hurts a little, but he makes up for it with kisses.
He bites. Those thighs of yours WILL be marked up 95% of the time, just get used to it already. He also likes to bite your tummy but like, in a playful way. It’s often an impulsive thought he has.
There’s something that just goes white hot inside him when he’s got you naked under him, in his bed, his hands just full of nothing but you. It’s got his brain short-circuiting with primal need, as if he wasn’t already struggling with communication…
Doesn’t consider his job as a loving partner done until he has you calling out his name with abandon, those full cheeks forming around each syllable so sweetly.
He’s mesmerized by every movement of your body.
He doesn’t have too much of a breeding kink himself, but damn if you don’t look good stuffed with his cum…It marks you as his, inside and out, and he’s nothing if not a (in a non-toxic way) possessive man.
He still indulges you, and can even see some of the appeal when you babble brainlessly about carrying his babies while he’s pounding ruthlessly into you over and over again.
And if he starts to thrust impossibly harder the second you rub your belly while he’s inside, saying how great of a father he’d be? Well, you just imagined that.
Now shut up and take his cum~

ALTERNIAN CULTURE ANALYSIS: APATHY AS ANTITHESIS. AN ESSAY ON TROLL SOCIETY'S UNDERSTANDING OF EMOTIONS
listen to me. it only makes logical sense that trolls would have a strong understanding of the idea that the opposite of "love" is actually antipathy; having no strong feelings whatsoever. I know what you're saying, "but the quadrants have love and hate as a dichotomy, they clearly think of hate as love's antithesis-" no. wrong. the quadrants are obviously not representative of every emotion a troll can have, the quadrants are a concept of ROMANCE. see there's the keyword here. love and hate are both integral parts of this romance, they do not exist in opposition to each other as in one cancels out the other, they are two sides of the same coin. having quadrant feelings for someone regardless of alignment is indicative of caring about them, of being passionate about them. I know those words typically have purely positive connotations when used about human romantic understandings but disconnect that for a second. basically it comes down to a slightly warped version of "horseshoe theory" (where supposed opposites, in this case love and hate, are actually closer together than the middleground). I think this concept is firmly supported by canon, examples off the top of my head:
from the quadrants explanation;
Tumblr media
"The relationships each quadrant describes tend to be malleable, if not volatile,"
as stated with the pitched/flushed vacillation and the canon examples of pale/flushed, but also I think it is implied (though less so) that it applies to every quadrant and there are many ways unexplored in canon that every quadrant can bleed into another.
this famous line:
Tumblr media
"It should be noted that in troll language, the word for friend is exactly the same as the word for enemy."
this quote being on the page where equius pesters gamzee, citing that he does so with regularity and thus considers him a "friend" (but that's not the whole picture). this adds to the notion of these relationships not being considered opposite but stemming from the same root idea of investment in a person.
I think it's very interesting because I believe the authorial intentions of incorporating hate as an integral part of troll society and culture is meant to contribute to the idea of them as a cruel and violent society, and while that may have some truth for the ways in which individuals treat each other peer-to-peer in average situations I actually think the real overarching effect it has is trolls coming off as a more emotionally honest society at the cost of simplicity and peace.
the implications of hate being considered on equal terms with love to me paint an image of a society that encourages embracing all emotions to the fullest extent, a society that might even consider the worst thing you can be not as someone who is filled with hate but in fact someone who does not care at all. I'm reminded of the conversation between vriska and aradia in hivebent:
Tumblr media
vriska calling her a "miserable soulless witch" followed by repeating she hates her and "only regrets killing her cause it made her so BORING!!!!!!!!"
of course we also see plenty of times that "not giving a shit" is a thing that trolls are naturally inclined to do because you only have so much emotional resource to devote to a finite amount of things. moreover that alternia is a society that encourages emotional "balance", to embrace the love and the hate both with the same passion.
again as karkat rants to vriska also in hivebent:
Tumblr media
"A WELL BALANCED PERSON IS GOING TO HAVE A GOOD DISTRIBUTION BETWEEN HATE AND THE VARIOUS PITY HUMORS."
you may also recognize this conversation as the same one where karkat claims this (rather infamously imo):
Tumblr media
"PITY IS OF COURSE JUST THE TONED DOWN VERSION OF THE CENTRAL EMOTION, HATE."
(adding more to the "trolls believe hate and love come from the same emotional source" pile even if the manner of it is slightly off-center here)
and vriska's response to karkat's ranting:
Tumblr media
"Did you learn this crap from your awful romance movies?" "THEY'RE REALLY INTRIGUING SOCIOLOGICALLY."
I hope this presentation makes it clear but for the audience in the back: karkat's interpretation of emotional composition of trolls is most likely complete bullshit and not at all factual nor, in my opinion, should be taken as biological information about trolls. for that reason I believe the reference to humoral medicine is completely intentional, invoking the imagerey of bullshit pseudoscience. just in the same way as I don't think it would be reasonable to make any similar claim about the nature of human emotions (and anyone who does is trying to sell you something). in A6A615 dave even states that "both humans and trolls are emotionally versatile sentient beings that can feel many hells of different things".
what I'm mainly getting at here using these quotes is that there is a cultural precedent for the claims he is making. karkat did not spawn these ideas about emotions out of thin air or scientific research, he got them from watching romance films. which particularly, as presumably low-culture media in much the same fashion as our own, would in fact make them excellent case studies on the general cultural attitudes of the society that consumes them. and that society, as karkat observes, makes indications that a) emotions of hate and love stem from the same source and b) trolls ought to have a balance of negative and positive emotions, where apathy is considered more undesirable.
so what I mean to say from all these observations, my formal opinion: to trolls there can exist this nebulous feeling of being emotionally attachment to someone, to desire any kind of relationship with them. and with that the average troll has a far better understanding that the most devastating response possible is actually none at all; to be completely unaffected by them.
so what am I saying with all this? it is my idea that in troll culture, trolls have a concept of relationships and emotions that can exist as a nebulous idea of just being *passionate*, of caring about something or someone and the distinction between negative or positive is merely a nuance rather than an opposition, and the actual socially reviled opposition to this feeling is being apathetic.
for example a troll rejecting another for a particular desired quadrant is heartbreaking (or diamondbreaking, spadesbreaking etc), but as there exists a desire for connection generally by virtue of the desire at all, it would be less devastating and possibly could become just as fulfilling for the connection to exist as a different quadrant, even on the other side of red/black. the most devastating possible outcome of a rejection would be that of total apathy, of the idea that one inspires no passions, no emotions of any kind in a person.
and with that established now we can get into my ideas about how alternian media rating systems work, such as a troll equivalent to rotten tomatoes where movies/books/films etc are rated on 5 different scales (also possibly two different modified 3 scale versions) in addition to a simplified two-scale version where the measure of "good" is based on "how much did this work inspire emotional reactions in you vs how much did you not give any shit at all"- the cane hooks me by the neck and pulls me off stage

ELAIN IN BLACK
I want to do an analysis on the argument regarding Elain in black that is split heavily on both sides by Eluciens and Elriels.
I plan on touching a few different topics, as well as comparing Elain and Feyre’s interaction with Court fashion, in this post, so it may be long—just a warning before I get into it.
ACOSF CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN, page 580
Tumblr media
Black is a staple color of the Night Court, worn heavily by Rhysand and others within both the Inner Circle and around Hewn City and Illyria. Night Court Black.
ACOSF CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN, page 578_581
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The specific name of the black that everyone was wearing in Hewn City during this scene is described as “Night Court Black.” For Elain to have been described as plain, with the color she wore to have, “sucked the life out of her,” that cannot be read with any positive connotation. For Cassian, of all characters, to be the one to express this is just as telling—he pulled himself away from the scene long enough to describe in an entire paragraph just how out-of-place Elain looks in the staple color of the Court she swears that she is now part of. It was unnecessary to the overall scene to have brought that point up. The plan was to uplift Nesta enough to have Eris dance with her, not to express how plain Elain looks in black.
I tend to see Elriels claim that Eris needed to be distracted from Elain so that he would choose to dance with Nesta, so Elain had to wear black and look awful compared to Nesta. A few thoughts on that —
1 — Elain is described as the most beautiful Archeron sister. No matter what she would have worn, her beauty would still have rivaled her sisters’. It was a pointed gesture to showcase how Night Court Black was ill suited for her to set up foreshadowing for Elain to leave the Night Court in her book.
2 — There is not a single canon scene prior to this chapter where anyone expressed that Elain had to dress down to make Nesta look all the more a prize for Eris. That is speculation and misinformation to spread as canon.
ACOSF CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN, page 580_583
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What is actually said is that both sisters wore black and walked behind Feyre and Rhysand to showcase their relation to the Royal Family—that they both had magic of their own and that they were a formidable entity in this game. “They planned it that way,” has no indication that they planned for Elain to dress down for Nesta. On top of that, it was the color that was described to be plain on Elain, not the dress.
Nesta was always going to be the one to dance with Eris, as was planned. “Elain gave a passable impression of appearing interested.” Feyre was always going to redirect Eris’ attention to Nesta, no matter how appealing Elain may have looked to him in that moment. As for Eris’ “assessing” gaze over Elain, that is not a show of Elain stealing his attention.
An assessment is a judgement, or an observation. Eris’ gaze could have been made for a variety of reasons. He simply could have known that Elain is Lucien’s mate, or he could have been sharing the same sentiment with Cassian regarding Elain in black. There is no indication that he was physically attracted to her, nor that he was going to ask her to dance with him. Without his POV from that moment, all is speculation.
ACOSF CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT, page 595_596
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A second major character expressing how Elain did not suit the Night Court Black gown that she had worn in the previous chapter. Instead, Nesta expressed how Elain “glowed with good health,” in a gown in the color of the Day Court. Juxtapose this scene with one from the High Lord’s meeting in —
ACOWAR CHAPTER FORTY-THREE, page 407
Tumblr media
“All of them fit and gleaming with health.” It is very pointed the parallels between how the Day Court entourage and Elain after Hewn are described within their colors. I also find it interesting that cobalt is a color associated with Day. Elain in ACOMAF, upon meeting Azriel, Cassian and Rhysand for the first time, wore a cobalt dress. Many Elriels have speculated that to be foreshadowing for an endgame between she and Azriel, but could that have been hinting at Day, instead?
Now, I want to compare a bit of Feyre’s experience with Spring Court fashion in conjunction with Night Court fashion.
ACOMAF CHAPTER FIVE, page 47_52
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rhysand describing the wedding dress that Feyre wore when she was originally going to marry Tamlin—similar language to Cassian describing Elain in black. Feyre herself uncomfortable with the Spring Court attire. We know that this was foreshadowing for Feyre eventually leaving Tamlin, leaving the Spring Court, and becoming endgame with Rhysand and also High Lady of the Night Court.
Feyre prefers the Night Court clothing, describing it as warm and freeing—pants instead of dresses that she was not pleased to be wearing. Foreshadowing.
All in all, Elain being described as plain and out-of-place in Night Court Black is eluding to a future where she leaves. As she “glows with good health,” in Day Court colors—her mate being the only heir to the Day Court—that hints at she and Lucien making their home in Day.

I had a discussion about Athena and how some series and fandoms tend to portray her as the over-idealistic version of herself, who is enlightened, peaceful, and entirely reactionary compared to how Ares mainly gets portrayed as mainly violent, childish, and entirely wrathful despite various Myths often showing off his nuance as a god.
And it's interesting how just values and traits used to describe someone can shift people's opinion on them depending on the framing.
Cause at the end of the day, Athena may be a goddess of wisdom, but that mainly revolves around warfare and combat, she can be pretty wrathful and petty in a lot of stories but she's given more positive connotations.
Ares despite having traits such as being passionate and tactical is given descriptions like emotional and cunning by a lot of fandoms and stories.
When I was talking to a friend she brought up a character with a lot of values to Athena, Azula from Avatar.
Very wardriven, very cold and strategic. Using soldiers as cannon fodder to gain a strategic position is something Athena would totally be down for,
