I often see people saying that they're disappointed with how Locklyle ends in The Empty Grave. Disappointed over the fact that there wasn't a kiss or anything like that.

But c'mon??? Lockwood gives Lucy a necklace as a symbol of his undying devotion, which is probably even more meaningful to him because it was originally his mother's.

Lockwood couldn't help but smile at his team's banter. "I can drop the source down to the furnaces tomorrow. Let’s all go home and get some rest." He looked over at Lucy, and upon catching her eye, turned up his smile to his megawatt grin.

He reached to grab her hand when two loud cracks echoed through the warehouse. He watched numbly as Lucy immediately crumpled to the floor. He turned his head toward the sound and saw Leopold Winkman standing ten meters away, holding a revolver.

Amused that Jonathan Stroud posted a L&Co Christmas short that based on the characters present takes place between books 4 and 5 which is when they were all planning a grave robbery. They were like ok put away the shovels and conspicuously detailed cemetery maps, we are having a normal Christmas and Boxing Day and then we can focus on UnBoxing Day (desecrating the corpse of a historical figure)

i literally don’t care who says otherwise, lucy and lockwood are the most UNHINGED CODEPENDENT FREAKS of any media. from their very first interaction lucy can already see herself fighting ghosts alongside lockwood indefinitely. lockwood giving lucy his sister’s necklace. basically the entirety of the hollow boy. come off it, luce, you know i’d die for you. lucy leaving the agency so lockwood doesn’t end up dying because of her. lockwood waiting for The Case Of A Lifetime to get lucy to come back to him. their journey to the other side. lockwood saving lucy when her cape tore. THEIR MATCHING WHITE STREAKS. lucy and lockwood becoming even closer after their trip to the other side. lockwood showing lucy his families’ graves. he will sacrifice his life for you. lucy swinging from a trapeze to save lockwood. skull implying that lucy is lockwood’s reason for living. it was a symbol of his undying devotion. lucy always staying behind with lockwood when he tells the others to go without him. lucy knowing that lockwood will inevitably follow her to penelope’s room in fittes house. lockwood arriving at the penthouse and lucy’s heart singing at his arrival. lucy staying with lockwood because she couldn’t imagine living without him. lockwood asking lucy out for a walk and gifting her his mother’s necklace. lucy putting on the necklace and ending the story with her going to lockwood.

George and Flo, two characters who usually don't don't have any problems letting people know exactly what they think just having the most awkward exchange in front of Lucy and Holly???? Why is this actually the cutest thing to happen??? 😄

And the fact that it's followed by George going off on Rupert:

Okay but Lucy and Lockwood getting married in the future. Lockwood got a fancy new Italian rapier as some sort of reward/gift given to him at a gala celebrating the Problem being less of , well, a problem. But he takes it on a case that's pretty difficult and it gets broken somehow. Lucy knows how much he loved it so she takes it to a jewellers and gets the silver recast as Lockwood's wedding ring. Idk I'm avoiding doing exams by thinking about Lockwood and co again
