the blake lively and justin baldoni drama continues to remind me just how willing and ready people are to rise at the defense of a man just because they hate women. taking blake lively's comments in bad faith and out of context, claiming "she was actually the abusive one the whole time." it's amber heard all over again. as long as we don't acknowledge why this is happening (misogyny), nothing is going to change.
#blake lively#justin baldoni#not even a fan of either of these actors#but i think when a man is being accused of abuse of power within the workplace#and his go to move is to hire the fucking team that defending johnny depp and enacted a smear campaign so heinous#that it was basically a livestreamed DARVO tutorial#you should perhaps try to be a bit critical of what he and his team are saying

Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, admits to spraying his cologne in the bathroom Amber Hears used during the trial to mess with her.
Odours have the known tendency to cause panic attacks and trigger flashbacks in people with PTSD. Camille Vasquez, who claims to stand for victims of abuse, weaponised a rape victim’s trauma to throw her off and scare her.
There is a special place in hell for people who protect abusers.
#i’m extremely pro-amber by the way#fuck johnny depp and his disgusting little legal team#justice for amber heard#amber heard#sorry not sorry

baldoni literally has all the evidence to back his story up while lively has nothing but lies and exaggerations. it’s literally on camera. the people believing baldoni is an abuser now are terfs and taylor swift stans. but it’s disgusting to me that all the people who were ‘believing the victim’ when it was lively won’t now believe the victim when it’s become clear the victim was a man instead of a woman and the abuse was just regular bullying and not sexual harassment
lively is not a victim she is an abuser who cried abuse when she got caught
#your feminism is being weaponised against you#who was the person who identified baldoni’s PR team as being “’johnny depps’? coz i reckon lively had more to do with that#than baldoni ever has to do with the narrative that she had taken over the film#blake lively#justin baldoni#it ends with us

I'm trying to make a bad movie adaptation of Assasins. Right now my idea is that this movie should be an Amazon adaptation for Prime.
The director is my dearest beloathed Tim Burton and he is creating a more dramatic plot and turning the assassins emo. Lin Manuel Miranda is on the writers board and basically a co-director because Hamilton and Assassins are just the same right? And since he is in the production he is obviously on the cast.
Other cast members are Johnny Depp, James Corden and Ben Plat.
#lmm and burton do have a lot of disagreements making the production longer#assassins musical#anti tim burton#anti lin manuel miranda#again he never adressed his racist musical or his anti native atitudes or the corruption claims he and his dad have#he just has a better pr team than the others#james corden#ben platt#anti johnny depp#stephen sondheim#amazon prime#bad musicals

Never Fear Truth
"Tell the world, Johnny, tell them, 'Johnny Depp, I, a man, I'm a victim too of domestic violence' and see how many people believe or side with you."

I don't like Blake Lively and was openly critical of how inappropriate her handling of Domestic Violence as a topic was in interviews ie using it as way to promote her lifestyle brands. But I don't have to like someone to believe them when they present a shit tonne of evidence that they're victims of sexual/workplace harrassment and an intense smear campaign. The NYT's exposè on Justin Baldon's PR campaign (link with paywall removed) against Lively, and the evidence she's submitted in her subsequent harrassment suit is eye-opening. Baldoni used the same PR team and tactics Johnny Depp used to smear Amber Heard. Regardless, whether or not someone is likeable is immaterial to the person's right to be safe and unharmed, but these PR firms really play on the masses synomysing likeability and innocence. Once again, the cruel and violently misogynistic legacy of Johnny Depp's DARVO-ing of Amber Heard rears its ugly head.

I fucking knew it. I knew that the random Blake lively hate was sus as hell, and that Justin baldonie's posturing as a feminist anti abuse king felt inauthentic and completely off.
He was sexually harassing Blake and other staff the entire fucking time, then hired Johnny depp's pr team to smear her online.
Even now, a ton of people, including people that support amber heard!! Don't believe her, don't care, or say "they're both bad". A woman that is considered annoying, out of touch, and thoughtless is on par with a sexual predator....
This is why I never believe the "this woman is bad/rude/annoying" mass hate pushes. No one can be trusted to have a non misogynistic view of things, and the shitty men around them benefit from this double standard.

All the women spamming Blake Lively's comments with "Amber Heard 2" just proves how horrendous, horribly and disgustingly misogynistic these pick me white liberal leftists are like idek the complete story behind what happened between Justin and Blake but ain’t no way i will ever support a man over a woman. This ugly man literally hired a whole PR team and engineered the mass cancellation of Blake Lively (this is exactly what Johnny Depp did with Amber Heard too) and women with zero braincells and zero success in life are ready to blindly believe in stupid rumours to bring down another woman thinking they look so cool and all. No honey, you deserve a slap on your face! Female solidarity is in a nutshell because idiots like you can’t put a stop to worshipping males.
Sending my curses to Justin and everyone who supports him to live a life full of misery and i hope this bastard jumps off a third floor balcony as well!

updates on justin baldoni and blake lively case.
After Baldoni sued New York Times for libel, he filed a $400m lawsuit against Lively and her husband.
On 16 January, Baldoni filed a lawsuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Ryenolds. He's suing them for $400m (£326m) damages on claims of civil extortion, defamation and invasion of privacy. His lawyer Bryan Freedman said the actress and her partners had disseminated "grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media". He also said Lively and her team had "attempted to bulldoze reputations and livelihoods for heinously selfish reasons". In response, Lively's legal team described the lawsuit as "another chapter in the abuser playbook".
Later on, Baldoni started to leak footages to the press(just like Depp did):
On 21 January, Baldoni released three out-takes of a romantic scene from the film as evidence that Lively's claims of sexual harassment are unfounded. The video's caption says the footage shows both actors "clearly behaving well within the scope of the scene and with mutual respect and professionalism". However, Lively's lawyers said the footage showed him "repeatedly leaning in toward Ms Lively and attempting to kiss her". They added that every moment was "improvised by Mr Baldoni with no discussion or consent in advance, and no intimacy co-ordinator present". "Any woman who has been inappropriately touched in the workplace will recognise Ms Lively's discomfort," they said.
Mia Schachter, an intimacy coordinator who has worked on Apple TV+’s Lessons in Chemistry and FX’s American Crime Story shared her thughts on the leaked footage:
Even though she’s Blake Lively and can say no and isn’t going to be fired for speaking her mind the way that somebody else might fear, she still has to keep working with him and keep the peace and play nice. I can just see her trying to stay lighthearted and in good spirits about it and not upset him or anybody, and not waste anybody’s time. But of course, she is trapped between a rock and a hard place. I can see her appeasing him and trying to keep a smile on her face. In a scene like that, without an intimacy coordinator, I think it was his responsibility to ask Blake, “Hey, what do you think about kissing in this scene?” if that’s what he wanted to see. But he didn’t ask her or even mention that it was something he wanted to shoot — he just went for it. She pulled away, and then he did it again. He definitely should have communicated that that was what he wanted to shoot, but he didn’t. To me, that’s pretty damning, both as an actor and a director.
In addition to all of that, Baldoni plans to launch a website with all the evidence he has against Lively.
Blake Lively’s legal team responds to Baldoni’s court of public opinion nonsense:
“This matter is in active litigation in federal court. Releasing this video to the media, rather than presenting it as evidence in court, is another example of an unethical attempt to manipulate the public. It is also a continuation of their harassment and retaliatory campaign. While they are focused on misleading media narratives, we are focused on the legal process. We are continuing our efforts to require Mr. Baldoni and his associates to answer in court, under oath, rather than through manufactured media stunts.”
Meanwhile, youtube, tik-tok, twitter(x) and other social platforms are filled with pro Baldoni posts and calling Blake ''a new Amber Heard''.
all in all, fuck you johnny depp.

‘We Can Bury Anyone’: Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine (NYT)
There have long been figures behind the scenes shaping public opinion about celebrities — through gossip columns, tabloids and strategic interviews. The documents show an additional playbook for waging a largely undetectable smear campaign in the digital era. While the film, about domestic violence, was a box office hit — making nearly $350 million worldwide — online criticism of the actress skyrocketed. “He wants to feel like she can be buried,” a publicist working with the studio and Mr. Baldoni wrote in an Aug. 2 message to the crisis management expert, Melissa Nathan. “You know we can bury anyone,” Ms. Nathan wrote. In the following weeks, Ms. Nathan, whose clients have included Johnny Depp and the rappers Drake and Travis Scott, went hard at the press, pushing to prevent stories about Mr. Baldoni’s behavior and reinforce negative ones about Ms. Lively, the text messages show. Jed Wallace, a self-described “hired gun,” led a digital strategy that included boosting social media posts that could help their cause. [...] Three days later, Mr. Baldoni texted Ms. Abel, flagging a social media thread that accused another celebrity of bullying behavior and had generated 19 million views. “This is what we would need,” he wrote. Ms. Nathan soon floated proposals to hire contractors to dominate social media through “full social account take downs,” by starting “threads of theories” and generally working to “change narrative.” “All of this will be most importantly untraceable,” she wrote. [...] It is unclear exactly how Mr. Wallace operated. There are references in emails to “social manipulation” and “proactive fan posting,” and text messages cite efforts to “boost” and “amplify” online content that was favorable to Mr. Baldoni or critical of Ms. Lively. “We are crushing it on Reddit,” Mr. Wallace told Ms. Nathan, according to a text she sent Ms. Abel on Aug. 9. The next day, one of Ms. Nathan’s employees texted, “We’ve started to see shift on social, due largely to Jed and his team’s efforts to shift the narrative.” Ms. Nathan wrote to Ms. Abel: “And socials are really really ramping up. In his favour, she must be furious. It’s actually sad because it just shows you have people really want to hate on women.” When a TikTok sleuth started asking questions about Mr. Baldoni, Ms. Abel texted that “this girl is on a very dangerous crusade.”
