A recent convo I had about how Finnish people tend to hug way less than some other cultures do, made me wonder how common hugs actually are in different cultures. what do you think would've happened in emtas if george hadn't blocked dream or if he'd read the letter he sent to george's parents' house or just showed up in person? would they have talked it out, would george have forgiven dream or did he need those 3 years to process and heal from all the hurt and anger to be able to hear dream out and trust him again

Ooh, this is such an interesting question. I think initially it wouldn’t have changed anything. At that time, George was too close to the hurt (and honestly the embarrassment) of Dream leaving and I think he would have been too stubborn to listen or to give Dream a pass, even if it made him unhappy too. He would have said the moment had passed and that he was no longer interested in anything.

That said, I do think they would have gotten together much sooner if that had happened. I think knowing Dream’s rationale and maybe having Dream around still showing interest, George would have eventually moved past his pain and let Dream in again.
