I am pumped for sooooo many things season 7 but I am so excited for the Rayla and Soren face off.

Presumably, Soren has the full context for who Runaan is to Rayla at this stage. I have to assume he knows Runaan is not merely the leader of the assasins to her. He's her father, the man who raised her.

And that has to smart with him, right? Soren spent the past few seasons and season 6 in particular, grappling with his father and who was.

Rayla was raised as a solider too. Unlike Soren who's role primarily was protection, Rayla was raised as an assassin. Raised to kill.

And here's the man who raised her like that. The killer, in Soren's eyes.

And Rayla is defending him? Fighting against her friends for him?

How does she make Soren understand that, with his background? How does she get him to understand that, yes, this man killed Callum and Ezran's father, was going to kill Ezran too... and yet she still loves him and wants to protect him.

Especially considering Soren was clearly willing to kill his own father to protect Ezran.

I absolutely adore how their friendship has developed over the seasons, and I am soooo excited to see them try and hurt each other.

I'm once again asking for part of the fandom to stop Runaan's uwufication

Ezran has all the rights to be pissed, he killed his father. Ezran is a 12 y.o who's going way too much at such a young age in a short period of time.

Rayla loves her father and Callum loves Rayla and knows how terrible losing a parent is (he lost three), that's why he was okay with freeing him, but Ezran has a total different relationship with Rayla and different views from Callum, on top of that, he just lost his kindgom.

Runaan is a grown ass man who killed Ezran's dad and trained his empath daughter to be an assassin, trying to kill her later when she opposed him. He's not a "uwu gay bean" he's an adult with terrible life choices and Ezran arresting him is a total valid response.

I do not know if anybody did not notice this or if it took me a little longer, but that is one of the Moonshadow Elf Assassins from season 1. I think that is Ram.

My poor baby Rayla is really going to suffer and have angst this season and on that of that, the hand with the blood might be the hand that had the Ezran binding. This is too much for my girl to handle 😭.

On a side note, this also further proves my Dragon Prince Theory on why Aaravos is summoning back the dead and more specially the dragons and people that our protagonist know.

Aaravos’s human disguise is so fucking funny he really went for emo boy from the woods

A self indulgent plot line I would love to see explored in Season 7 is the direct effects of what happened to Soren in Season 6 and how it could drastically change how he interacts with Corvus

Soren is usually the one making fun quips and lighten the mood around tense situations he will sing songs make up silly stories, and overall just be a lot more goofy.

But this time Soren just got out of a ruined Katolis after weeks of living in his own personal hell of having his abusive father back under the very roof he was abused under and coping with the complicated feeling of said father’s self sacrificial death.

I would be really disappointed if we didn’t get some follow up on how it could change Soren’s demeanor. Im sure he’d still try to make jokes, with some quips here and there but Corvus is really good at reading Soren.

I would have a hard time believing he wouldn’t catch on immediately to how Soren is feeling and what he is thinking and even more of a hard time believing he wouldn’t try to cheer him up one way or another.

We know that for at least part of the season Ezran/Aanya and Soren/Corvus will be teamed up meaning we probably will see a heavy Plot A and Plot B storyline with them.

It would make sense for the plot line to follow:

1a. King Ezran working through his grief and anger juggled along with his responsibility as King to his people and trying to stop the literal end of the world

And 2a. Soren working through his grief and anger juggled with the overwhelming dread and guilt of what has happened to his family and trying to stop the literal end of the world

Then 1b. Aanya who although hasn’t known Ezran long knows far too well what he is going through being quite possible the only person in the world who can relate to being a child ruler with both of her warrior parents being dead with an older adoptive/half sibling who could not inherit the Crown surviving attempted coups and assassinations.

2b. An awkward Corvus trying to cheer Soren up after having freshly crossed a barrier that he was unable to cross by himself. Filling in the gaps and silences or even just offering his shoulder for Soren to lean on and let it all out instead of bottling it up.

Soren and Ezran love playing this game of “Im fine!” After going through the most traumatic thing of their life.

But having these two forces; both who are not from Katolis Castle, both who can relate or empathize, both who are an outside force that are less much less entangled in this complicated web that is Ezran’s and Soren’s life.

They can help them sort out the strings they are trapped in, and help unravel them bit by bit

I don't know whether to be excited or afraid that Rayla has taken Runaan's position as team leader. I think I like it, though. Katolis has been her home for the last couple of months. She knows this place, and its people, more than Runaan does. She should lead the way.

Book Seven: Dark

Synopsis according to TDP Wiki:

Following Sol Regem’s destructive rampage on Katolis, which saw the death of Viren, Claudia has been manipulated by Aaravos into freeing him from his prison, against the wishes of her boyfriend Terry.

Meanwhile, while Rayla had successfully revived Runaan, her friends Callum and King Ezran were left devastated to learn of the fate that befell their home.

With Aaravos now free from confinement, and with Claudia by his side, the world is now forced to face the great threat that has been pulling on their strings for a thousand years.

I am not okay people, and I cannot wait.
