Delta Rain Dance - Music For Autumn - the artist name sounds like a Jon Hassell track because it is an alias used by Glenn Astro specifically for Hassell-inspired (i.e. Fourth World) music

Glenn Astro leans into the twilight months of 2024 with a new album from his Delta Rain Dance project. Divining fourth world sensibilities from his restlessly curious studio workflow, Astro weaves a mesmerising tapestry of sound on Music For Autumn which treads the line between horizontal meditation and head-nodding, backroom-ready groove. Amongst his constellation of myriad aliases, Delta Rain Dance spells out the inspiration Astro takes from fourth world pioneer Jon Hassell. The project first surfaced with a string of tapes, LPs and digital releases around 2018, all carried on a label of the same name to keep Delta Rain Dance enclosed in its own space independent of Astro's many other musical endeavours. "I’m really into the world building aspect in science fiction and fantasy," says Astro. "This is my way of creating worlds and spaces that co-exist next to each other. Sometimes they collide but mostly they exist peacefully next to each other or pursue some form of cultural exchange by collaborating with each other." There's a strong sense of balance and cohesion throughout Music For Autumn, as organic percussion and instrumentation wraps around delicate synthesis and patient drum machine pulses so naturally it's hard to spot the joins. At times the electronic elements seem to entirely dissolve, not least behind the loping strings and tumbledown percussion of 'Second Sleep', while achingly beautiful closer 'Plucked' centres on the fluttering movement and expression Astro elicits from his modular setup.

吉村弘（未発送）のほかは、すべてレコードで手に入れた。特にお気に入りがSensoramaとBaba Stiltzなのでぜひ聴いていただきたい。

Roman FlügelとJörn Elling WuttkeによるSensoramaは、90年代後半〜00年代はじめにハンブルクのレーベルLadomat 2000からリリースしていた。Roman Flügelが複数の名義で多様な作品を産んできたのと同じく、SensoramaもAlter Ego、Acid Jesus、The Primitive Painterなどの変名を持っている。なかでもSensoramaはテンポはゆったり、音は少なめに手づくり感にあふれていて、優しい温もりがある、でもちょっと風変わり、ときどきとんがり。初めて聴いてすぐに魅せられリピートしまくった。

ふたりともハンブルク出身でも拠点でもないのだが、ライナーノーツを読むとこのアルバムはハンブルク人脈に愛されていたからこそ作られたようだ。Golden Pudel Club（い��か行きたい）のブッキング担当／DJであるRalf Kösterによってコンパイル、Bureau Bからリリースされた。リリース・パーティは当然Pudelで行われ、JörnのSoundcloudでは当日の楽しそうなmix（Part 1とPart 2）を聴くことができる。

待ちに待ったBaba Stiltzのセカンド・アルバムは、その名で人気を獲得したハウスから離れ、近年のシングルの延長で、The Folk ImplosionやBeckの地味目の曲を思い出させるローファイ・フォークという趣。それがほんっっと好み。彼はグランジ風の服装をしていて、Our Legacyのランウェイではモデルとして歩き、VOGUEにスナップされ、DAZEDで特集を組まれるおしゃれさんだ。2018年にInstagramでDinosaur Jr.（私がいちばん好きなバンドのひとつ！）のTシャツを着ているのを目撃して勝手に喜び、それはジョークでもハズしでもなく本当に好きらしく、レジデントを務めるNTS RadioではSonic YouthやPJ Harveyなどオルタナをたくさんかけていたのでずっと共感していたのだった。レーベルのPublic Possessionは、ハウスを通過しつつインディ～オルタナ的表現をするアーティストを紹介してくれるのでよくチェックしている。

このTumblrにお気に入りの音楽リストを投稿し���めたのは2014年だから、もう10年目になる。よく聴いていたアルバムにRoman Flügelの『Fatty Folders』（2011年）や『Happiness Is Happening』（2014年）、ベスト・トラックのひとつにBaba Stiltz“Palats”を挙げていた。それまで好んでいた王道のロックやインディ・ロック、ポップスにプラスして、同世代の友達が聴いてなさそうなエレクトロニック・ミュージックこそが、ひとり暮らしの日常の気分を整えてくれる居心地のよいものとなっていった時期だった。居心地のよさを知ったとして、たいていは自分もアーティストも年月を経て変わっていくことが多いだろう。変わっても認められる、ずっと好きで自分の核というか心の支えになる――大切な存在の音楽を作ってくれるアーティストがいるのはありがたいことだ。

旧譜では、そのうち聴くでしょとスルーしていたが世間的には名盤扱いの、ハービー・ハンコック、ファラオ・サンダース、ジョー・ザヴィヌルの上記のアルバムに今さらハマった。たまたま聴いたら、まるで私のための作品かと感じるほどスッと入ってくる不思議な体験だった。そのとき他に何を聴いていたとか、年齢、気候、体調などにもよるのかもしれない。

昨年書いた「レコードを手に入れたらじっくりリスニング」を心がけたおかげか、他にもお気に入りのレコードがたくさんできてしまったので、そのうちmixにできたらという感じです。

NIPO, BEATRIZ , CATRAIO POP-UP 17.07.2024

If you know Catraio, a local Craft Beer bar in Porto, You have already met the *crazy* and amazing team. The owners are known for also boosting artistic and cultural artisans and Chefs are one of them. ON A WARM DAY OF JULY, Chef Celebi and I went to Catraio for Chef Nipo Pop-up. She had returned from Spain so I remember this was one of her first Pop-Ups after that period. This is also when I met her. A very concentrated and dedicated person, with a killer smile. Haha. Since it was a very non-formal and chill vibe, ended up drawing two of five dishes: Burrata + Pêssego + Salvia + Pinhão + Mel (picante) Tartelete de Cereja

I am a very picky eater so this was so cool for me to taste. The softness of the Burrata mixed with the honey felt very nice. The texture of the grilled peach and pine nut entering in this mix was very surprising. It was most of all soft and interesting flavours. It is a great dish to share and for a calm afternoon.

Are the other stitches easier than cross stitches then? Thanks for the tip! The only embroidery I've ever done was with yarn on a knitted sock and that took longer than the sock itself 😂. Doing handicrafts on the bus or train sounds fun! I should try that.

This year I'll be eating pork for Christmas too. Duck is delicious as well! And Tartelet sounds great! Hahaha 😂 we never really had fancy Christmas dinner but this year we'll make something a little more special, which I'm looking forward to.

I'm from Germany, so we're practically "neighbours" 😄 and we likely have the same weather here. I totally get what you mean, this year especially I can't WAIT until spring comes back and the days become longer. Winter hasn't even fully started and it's already such a harsh, long winter. But the cold weather started way too early this year. Do you have a favourite season?

I apoligize for not responding. I've partaken in the humble tradition of danish getting shitfaced in Prauge. I'm very fond of beer.

Yes, I think cross stitching is difficult and even more time consuming. I also prefer the dynamic patterns the other stiches maked possible. I've also done some 'mending', where i embrider over holes and spots on clothes.

I love spring too. My dad owns a allotment, and working in the garden when it's still cold and all the birda have returned is the simgle best thing in my life.

And anther beer.

Great question. I've tried and tried to listen to U.S. folk rock psychadelica. Garteful Dead, 13th Floor Elevator, Country Joe & The Fish and the Byrds. It never works out for me. It's just too slow and boring. I've listened to Santana reasently and it's more my taste. My knowledge of krautrock does not extend to more than Kraftwerk, and I'd like to know some more. Heard about Faust too. Maybe you know some?

— ARA: ACROPOLIS RESIDENTS AWARDS!

O que seria de grandes artistas sem uma premiação especial para comemorar seus feitos? Definitivamente nada! E, pensando nisso, o grego tão conhecido teve a belíssima ideia de elaborar uma festa de gala, onde os moradores poderiam não apenas se divertir e saborear um buffet requintado, como também estariam dispostos a receber seus troféus especiais, feitos de maneira exclusiva para cada participante, alguns com nomeações mais engraçadinhas, outras com questões mais sérias, mas todos teriam a oportunidade de receber um prêmio em cima do palco e fazer o discurso que treinaram há anos no chuveiro ou em casa sozinhos diante do espelho.

Além, é claro, da presença de nossos convidados de honra, que toparam participar da brincadeira como MC’s. Song Kang, Na Inwoo, Park Eunbin, Kim Yoojung e Do Kyung-Soo serão as vozes que irão chamar os nomes dos felizardos e entregarão os prêmios especiais, preparados exclusivamente para cada morador do condomínio.

O salão de festas recebeu um grande trato! O palco montado repleto de holofotes, tinha como conjunto as cortinas e cinco tripés com microfones, sendo o primeiro local a atrair a atenção dos que entravam pela porta pintada de dourado, onde um grande tapete avermelhado se estendia e seguia até a parede escura, com fitas que dividiam os que estavam no tapete dos que estariam do outro lado, acompanhando o número considerável de câmeras profissionais, indicando que ali seria o local ideal para que fosse realizada as fotografias iniciais.

Após tirar sua tão sonhada foto, os condôminos poderiam aproveitar a festa da maneira que preferirem. A decoração era uma mistura de dourado, preto e vermelho, com bastante toque de brilho, lustres exagerados e rosas, que sequer paravam quando a atenção chegava nas mesas postas para descanso e alimentação, enquanto os garçons passeavam pelo salão com os drinks.
