South Africa has finally declared menstrual products tax-free! Taxing menstrual products makes them less affordable and accessible, especially for low-income consumers. Many young girls end up missing school because they cannot afford to manage their periods. TAMPON TAX for @1215today. The tampon tax has always been a bitter pill to swallow. Then a couple of months ago it was announced that organisations that work with disadvantaged girls and women could apply for funding from the tax. Although it still felt unjust that essentially women would have to fund these things it was still progress. However it has emerged this week a charity 'organisation life' has been awarded a quarter of a million pounds. 'Organisation life' is an anti abortion and anti-choice charity, a group that is known to use scaremongering and terminology such 'the death penalty' when referring to ending a pregnancy. Women's Protest Idea

Ladies. Since men, especially our government, are hellbent on governing our bodies, defunding our access to healthcare, and taxing our hygiene products, let's make our voices heard in a way they won't be able to ignore. If Planned Parenthood loses funding (or let's just go for it now and save time waiting for the ball to drop), let's mail our used pads and tampons to the orange man in the White House himself. That's right, used. Save them. Box them. Ship them to the White House. Or you local representatives/legislators signing bills against our bodies. 💁🏻💁🏼💁🏽💁🏾💁🏿
