Guildhall calling... Thrilled to get this opportunity. As I was back then studying classical singing there. I opened the first ever Rag Week Revue with my first ever Galina, opposite favourite baritone Peter Snipp. He went onto the serious career at Glyndebourne, ENO et al. Different paths. It appears that I have forgotten to mention that I did a bungee jump a few weeks ago. The reason this is odd is that firstly it’s something interesting that I’ve done so I’d usually write about it, but secondly it’s on my bucket list and I love to record moments in my bucket list history!

I’ve had this list since I was 13, and the things on it range from ‘live abroad for a year’ to ‘work on a ranch’ and ‘go cow tipping’. You can see it’s pretty wide spread. But I am slowly ticking things off, and I thought I’d share some things with you as I go, starting with my spectacular bungee jump.

This has been on my list for quite some time, so when I found out my college has bungee jumping during RAG week I didn’t even hesitate to sign up for it. So when the day rolled around, I waltzed out of morning lectures, had a delicious pie for lunch with my friends, then joined the queue of jumpers. I’m not scared of heights in the slightest, so I happily waited as they tied my legs together and watched other jumpers who came down in tears from their ordeal walk back away into the crowd of spectators.

When my turn came, I hopped into the basket like a good little bungee jumper and smiled and nodded as the man told me what I was going to do. I stepped (shuffled) towards the edge and mentally prepared myself for my graceful swallow dive into the air, while taking in the lovely London view. 3...2...1... and I was out. And I instantly forgot everything I’ve ever learned in circus as I flew towards what would undoubtedly be my inevitable death. Half a second later the rope caught me and I realised I wasn’t actually going to die, and by the time I’d pinged up to a much lesser height, I had got a bit bored of dangling upside-down unable to do anything. Because I’m a bit weird like that.

After spinning around like a childrens’ toy as I descended to the mat, my legs were untied and I returned to room 220 to continue my afternoon by failing to learn anything about engineering. Fun times!
