I wanted to share some pics from The Adventure Zone Live! The story was Romeo vs Juliet and it was insane nonsense. Perfection!
Travis was sick but pulled through 💪🏼
(his shirt said Protect Trans Kids and his hat says "Mutts Hat" the drip was impeccable)
100000/10 would go again. Any show in the Tampa Theatre feels so special because of the magic ambiance of the venue.
The snow background was Paul referencing Mac just having snowflakes on his iPad instead of the DnD app? And Justin spent multiple minutes trying to fix it 🤣

i cant stop thinking about those photos of the backstages of those opera houses. shes so beautiful to me. i really do love theater.
#it reminds me of the sm meeting at state when we got to mill around the stage in tampa before the performances started#and when we got there they hadn't brought down the runners or the cyc yet so it was just the bare backstage. and god.#it was one of the most beautiful things i'd ever seen. i cant stop thinking about it. staring out into the gorgeous house#GOD. and the loading dock area had all the cases for the wicked tour and the ceilings were SOOO HIGH.#and they had these racks full of ellipsoidals just chilling there. and on the wall they had a bunch of spray painted logos#of all the touring productions that had gone through there and. GOD. I LOVED IT. and their sound booth was tucked into#the back of the house and it was SOOOOO COOL. i had to jump down into it and i MISS IT. was i terrified. yes.#BUT IT WAS JUST SO COOL! THEIR BOARD WAS SO FUN! GOD! experience of a lifetime. i love theater.

im glad mediocre white people can get roles handed to them left and right but i have to work 10x as hard to even get a smidgen of what they got and still get rejected <3
#because these theater companies in the tampa bay area want to cast the same people over and over again#and do the same boring ole plays#and claim they do diversity but will cast minorities in lesser roles or only cast one and call it a day#they want to appeal to their conservative old white donors and audiences#because black people and pocs cant afford those jacked up ticket prices#so they make it inaccessible to those communities to see theater#i think im gonna start sending out of state auditions from now on#the witch rants

My latest artventure took me to Powerstories Theatre where Nicole Jeannine Smith is playing Barbara McClintock in a new play by Carolyn Gage.
It's rare to see science on stage, and this play does a great job of bringing Barbara McClintock's genetics research to life in a way that nonscientists can understand and relate to.
Nicole Jeannine Smith really brought Barbara McClintock to life in “In McClintock’s Corn” at Powerstories Theatre through Mar 12. Go see it!
