Decided I needed to get out of the house and lost. Went to the Olympic Peninsula area and took a bunch of logging rodes. Took a stupid selfie as seen here. Found some elk remains. Got scared of bears. Then looked up at the exact right time to see a 60-70' tall tree fall across the way in the uncut trees. It sounded like a car barreling towards me. Picked up an older down on his luck man on the side of the road with a flat bike tire. I've been doing this more lately and it scares me every time. But I get out of my truck, make sure they see me putting my pistol in my holster, ask what's up, ask if they have any weapons, then agree to give them a ride. One guy had a pistol, told him it needed to go in the back, he did, it was cool. The guy today, James, put his bike in the back and we talked for a bit. He obviously has had a rough life but was heading to a job site to seal a fence he built so he could make $25 bucks. He has a final court bill of $40 for a DUI he has been paying off for 5 years due on Monday and the judge won't budge. Said he had one more potential job lined up. I asked if I could give him the $15 bucks, he said no, the ride was more than enough. We talked about fishing and he showed me some of his art. He does wood carving and burning and makes walking sticks. I complimented the walking stick, it was really beautiful. I dropped him off at the job site and he asked for my number because he wanted to make me a walking stick with a fish design. I shook his hand and gave him $100 I had in my console for unique occasions and told him I would gladly pay. He said he only charges $20, I told him the rest was a tip to take care of his bill. He teared up and said he will make a beautiful walking stick for me. Then I stopped by a casino and was up $500 on roulette after 7 spins. Walked away -$200... it was a good day. What to do when you're at a new school

Transitioning to a new school is HARD. I have had to do it many times, and here's what helped me.

1. Do not be afraid to talk to new people, it is a lot harder to make friends when you keep to yourself. 

2. Join clubs, when I went to my new high school I joined clubs as a way to make new friends and it was so helpful. 

3. Do not let mean people put you down. Theres definitely mean people at every school, but that does not mean everyone is. Do not let one mean person ruin your experience at your new school.

Photo-a-day challenge. 2021 Edition #017

Struggling to start of my sentences about today. I had a strange day, it was nice then it wasn’t and it was again. I had a long nice chat with my parents. I became very jealous of a situation and I admitted it.  I didn’t attempt to change the feeling, I just didn’t deny it. I acknowledged that I was jealous. I am not going to give details, that are not important. Perhaps they are in discovering where the root of this feeling lies but they are not important at this moment as I already had the feeling. I was jealous. I shouldn’t have been.

Then I argued with my partner. Then we made up, because it was a pointless, unimportant thing and it wasn’t worth dragging it. 

When the sun was setting we walked to the high street, he bought himself take away, we stocked up on snacks and got coffee. i have mini story to tell here. We have a lovely barista in the coffee shop, he always remembers our drink and starts making it as soon as we walk in.  I never asked his name but we always exchange pleasantries. Today he seemed very disconnected, he was alone in the shop. When we asked how he was, he didn’t seem too enthusiastic to engage in small talk. I thought God, he must be exhausted and this is the last thing he wants to do. But then he told us how the company reduced staff on certain days and it’s challenging for one person to deal with everything. After a few exchanges I found out he is doing his masters in human rights and he is just hanging in here to be able pay his bills. I have been there. I instantly felt the hardship he is shouldering. I worked at JD Sports for over 2 years to be able to pay my studies. I cried whilst mopping many nights and went home with such back pain. 

I have so much respect for people like him. Working so hard to get to their dreams! This short exchange made me realise something. We really never know anyone’s story, or what they are going through, in what circumstances they are continuing their lives. 

I know I am supposed to challenge my beliefs this week, and I stumbled upon one this morning, I thought it was a perfect example. I immediately switched to the opposite belief and held it for a bit. But now I can’t remember it for the life of me. So instead I am sharing this little moment from my day, I think this is something that’s important and it should be paid attention to. I v easily decide he was being grumpy and impolite as he was taking our order and serving our coffee. In reality he is tired, unmotivated and exploited. Talking to him made me understand it better. 

It’s good to talk to people. it’s a human thing to do.
