Photo-a-day challenge. 2021 Edition #162
I really have abandoned the blog.
I’m sorry about it but I’m also stuck with it and I don’t know what to write each day.
Yes out of quarantine now but life is not that eventful at the moment.

2020 continues to be the year that just...keeps on “giving.” I figured I would be wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving from home but as I write this, we are in the ER at St Mary’s, hardly the pleasant low key Thanksgiving we had envisioned. A fever just under 104 for Mr Transplant meant it was time to call 911 this morning. Mercifully, it’s pretty quiet in here even though the hospital is basically full. Still, the time drags on for hours without anything happening. His numbers don’t look too bad, the fever has come down a bit, and it is not certain what is going on. At this point, we are waiting for the hospitalist, a room - and a Covid test. Once they administer that, I have to leave and cannot come back. And then only if it is negative. I’m hopeful that this is a quick transitory event and we can spring him tomorrow for turkey dinner. But I am also hopeful that you, my friends, ARE having that pleasant Thanksgiving at home. Despite everything this year, there is so much to be grateful for. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🦃🦃 . . . . . . . . . #Thanksgiving #2020 #yearofcovid (at Richmond, Virginia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIEYV79gGPq/?igshid=dh8vy9rslsym

Gratitude jar!
My challenger friend, who sent me the mindfulness challenge jar, also mentioned another challenge to me on one of our Zoom calls.
“Gratitude Jar”
Yes, another challenge, another jar. Here is how it worked. You’d get an empty jar, every day you’d write one thing you are grateful for and put it in there. At the end of the year, you’d read them out loud”
I was actually going to do this first, when she mentioned it, but then she sent me the other challenge and I thought it’s too much to take on everything all at once.
But yesterday, I mentioned it to my partner and I asked if he’d like to do it with me. He said, “I don’t really see the point of it”. Regardless, we started it yesterday. Today it occurred to me, the point of it. Think about it, on December 31st we will have 730 reasons to be grateful for the life we have. It’s perfect when all we do, most of the time is focus on what’s not going right in our lives.
This year “GRATITUDE” is an important word for me. After 2020, it took on a different meaning. I am going to work more on being more grateful and expressing it more often.
Do you think maybe you’d take on this challenge? If you’re doing it let me know!

Photo-a-day challenge. 2021 Edition #005
It was such a grey day today. The trees were stripped down bare by the cruel winter and rain was in true London fashion, non stop. :/ I walked with my partner until the tube station and then I went to the shops to get a few grocery items. The weather and the current affairs of the world made me feel miserable. I was looking for my shot for the day, I wasn’t inspired in the slightest. I took a few before I came across this little fella at the bus stop. Smile, the universe said. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Photo-a-day challenge. 2021 Edition #109
I nearly forgot to take a photo today and I am so tired now after work. I took this on the way home. It was quite a busy day today.
The graphic designer finalised the logos. They look professional. It has a serious look to it. I like that.
There are a couple of corrections but those can be easily sorted.
I then went to work in the evening. It went well but talking 3 hours straight really tires you out in the end.
Off to bed now.

Photo-a-day challenge. 2021 Edition #095
I did what I said I would today. I am actually proud of myself. I got up at 6:30 am and then I got ready and left the flat. I went for a walk. With the audio book playing in my ears and cars going past I walked to and back from the village. It took me just over an hour and it was great.
When I got home I sat down with my laptop and updated my model release with the new logo. Then I worked on my pricing list and found couple of brands that I will email tomorrow.
I have been very productive this morning.
I know it’s not much and I’m still without a regular income. But today I was more focused on positive aspect of the future rather than how overwhelming everything was that happened in the past.
In the afternoon we took our dog friend out for a walk and playtime in the park. Then we went and had late lunch in front of the shopping centre from the street food vendors. Finished the outing with some groceries shopping and came home just before 5 pm.
Honestly today was so productive, I can hardly believe it.
Tomorrow I am hoping to have another productive day. So now I need to go to bed and get some rest.

Photo-a-day challenge. 2021 Edition #094
Today, where to start. There was nothing and everything in today.
I first had a long video chat with my mum where we watched the new episode of the serious we’ve been watching and talked about things here and there.
Then I had a shower and we left to get some food shopping done. Only to realise almost half way that it’s Easter Sunday today and supermarket is closed. Then we returned home, ordered pizza and watched several episodes of Homeland. About 5 o’clock we were meant to go and borrow our dog friend but her family was busy and we didn’t want to rush them, and we pushed our meeting to tomorrow. So I went on a long walk alone instead.
It was wonderful. I had an audio book playing on my phone and the weather was warm and encompassing. I really disconnected myself from stress and anxiety and I existed calmly for a bit.
There isn’t much with the rest of the day, I came home and did more of my online therapy module, watched more Netflix and now I am getting ready to head to bed.
For this week I have a few things planned. First of all, I need to get some more of my paperwork sorted for business. I will then contact a couple of potential clients. Organize the TFP shoot I arranged for Wednesday. So it looks busy ahead. I just hope I can go on regular walks and eat a bit healthier to keep stress at bay.
that’s all for today.

Photo-a-day challenge. 2021 Edition #092
It was a sad day for us today. Exactly a year ago, we lost my uncle to Covid. I can’t believe it has been a whole year without him and I can’t believe he is gone forever.
We went to visit his grave, put down flowers and my aunt even got his brother to plant an olive tree by the grave. Then we came home, had dinner, took out the rubbish, changed bedsheets and did more laundry,
Limits of life and living challenged by the banalities of everyday chores. It’s so ironic. Not to live to the fullest when you only have one life and it can end any minute.
It’s also Easter weekend this weekend. I don’t have any plans for it. I planned one meeting with a friend. Now we’re not legally required to stay at home. I’d like to mix and socialise. I will do all I can to go back to normality.
By Monday I have to be ready to get back to working on getting more leads and clients. I have gone off the tracks so bad after what happened mid february. An entire month after that I tucked my tail between my legs and shied away from things. It’s enough. A new quarter started, new chapter opened. I need to get back into my flow.

Photo-a-day challenge. 2021 Edition #091
I was away doing fun stuff again today. I met a friend that I couldn’t meet in person before. We met through a course I attended in december and we became good friends. We finally managed to meet today and went location scouting in London. It was so so so much fun.
When I got home, I made helva with my mum’s help through video call, then washed up, then cooked dinner.
It was a while before I managed to sit down to relax and then find time to transfer the photos. I just finished selecting and sending them to my friend. I’m absolutely exhausted. I’m off to bed now.

Photo-a-day challenge. 2021 Edition #088
Today weather was stunning. Clocks gone forward, sun shone all day. It was uplifting, instead of dreary and desperate.
I have sent out some emails that needed to be sent in the morning. Missed my GP appointment by two minutes and had to reschedule it.
After that we went to the park to feed the ducks and pigeons. It wasn’t the most productive of days but it was restorative. It felt good to be under the sun and getting fresh air.
Now off to bed.
