I'm sorry but I feel the fucking urge to say this but, not in a million trillion, billion years would Regulus... REGULUS... would take Remus's side during The Prank. "B- But Moonwater 🥺" Suffer. Sirius and Regulus are brothers, and in reality, Regulus only 'likes' the marauders/Gryfindoors because his brother is one. Lupin is only on top of the list because Remus is sleeping with his brother!! No way would Regulus see his brother so distraught and sad and take Lupin's side. He doesn't even know what really happened so why would he!! Idk, just saying 😭

i've actually seen people pointing out that making all and only characters that can shapeshift nonbinary or genderfluid representation can get problematic (or at least icky), bc you're reinforcing the idea that body = gender. it's super automatic too: yes, of course they're genderfluid, they can change their body to what they want! and that's completely alien to the experience of real genderfluid people

You are probably right about it geting possibly problematic, I just haven't done much research into it and was just spitballing my ideas. I know, as a genderfluid person myself, and a young one at that, it's more fantasy wish fulfillment than reality. Obv body ≠ gender, but my thought process came from my own desire for a solution to the dysphoria.

When it comes to the characters in questions, I was just thinking about my hc version of Teddy Lupin, and how he would have a different take on gender and sexuality than most people due to being a metamorph, being (in my mind) raised by two men, and one of those men often being headcannoned as genderqueer themselves. In my mind, she comes from a super interesting situation that can be explored. Not that being raised by a gay couple would change anyone's gender or sexuality, but that it would undeniably create a safer space for doing those things.

Tonks only got looped in bc it felt weird to ignore her, and also her earlier framing in the books and movies, but my intention was mostly with Teddy. I didn't mean to include all shape-shifting characters into my Teddy Lupin centric thought process by lack of specification.

I love writing from the POV of dumb characters. They don't need a big vocabulary. They don't need to be witty funny sassy. They just need to be dumb hot sexy.

Writing from the POV of smart characters got me like crying weeping thesaurus on standby. Why you gotta use such big words in your stupid inner monologue you fancy intelligent fuck.

“I believe you.”

Sirius wiped his nose on the back of his hand, making the mess on his face worse, tears and snot running down his lips. For minutes, he hadn’t been able to open his eyes to face the boy in front of him, feeling pathetic and ashamed, but with those three words he felt a little twist in his heart, of hope, of gratitude, of surprise for he hadn’t expected to hear them. Not said as simply as Remus just had, barely needing a heartbeat to think on it. It forced him to look, thinking maybe he’d just imagined it.

Remus looked just as solemn and unfazed as his words had been. Sirius blinked at him, trying to get rid of the tears. “What?”

Remus dug his hand in his pocket and pulled out a tissue. Instead of handing it to Sirius, he got on his toes and gently wiped Sirius’ face for him; first his cheeks, his eyes, then folded the tissue and used the clean side on his mouth, his nose. Sirius stood still, studying Remus’ focused face, the tenderness in his eyes. He let him take care of him, getting lost in the love he had for this person. When Remus opened his mouth again, he spoke in such a slow and firm manner it couldn’t be missed or misheard this time.

“I believe you, Sirius.”

“But– no one ever does.”

“I do.” Remus balled up the tissue and tossed it over his shoulder without looking, blindly aiming for the trash can sitting at the corner somewhere behind them, but missed with several feet. It made a short, croaky laugh escape from Sirius’ mouth. Remus reached his arms over Sirius’ shoulders, placed hands in Sirius’ hair, and tilted his head down to rest their foreheads together. “And it’s all okay.”

Sirius placed his hands on Remus’ hips, and they stood like that for a while, until Sirius’ breathing slowed down.

“Alright?”

Sirius nodded, sniffling once more, moving his hands up on Remus’ waist and guiding him closer. He leaned his head down more to reach Remus’ mouth. Remus took the lead of the kiss as if he was trying to cure all of Sirius’ pain with it. It might’ve worked, if only for a moment, but they soon broke apart as Sirius pulled back, regretfully. “You’ll get snot on your face.”

“I’ve had worse things on my face.”

Sirius laughed again. “You are so…” He bit his lip, digging his fingers into Remus’ shirt. Remus’ brown eyes were still filled with the kind of love and adoration Sirius had never thought he’d deserve, let alone receive. “Thank you.”

“Thank you for telling me.” Remus smiled brighter, dimples appearing on the corners of his mouth. “My beautiful partner.”

marauders as theatre kids (aka something i think about far too often)

remus: ultimate techie. doesn’t know who the fuck sleep is. probably a psm. gossips with lily via headset

sirius: he’s an actor, i’m sorry. the actor that’s charismatic and all the techies love. probably a lead. was banned from touching a drill

james: also an actor. he and sirius compete for leads since they’re both talented. he and sirius practice lines together and get nothing done (see: sirius reading lines as james’s love interest in a show and them dying of laughter)

peter: quiet techie. maybe an asm or spotlight. he just vibes and is fun to talk to during down time. here for the good times. will literally tear people to shreds on headset tho
