Since someone brought up Mr. Beast, I am going to get one thing off my chest. I am now grateful to whoever on Mr. Beast’s team cut George out of the Feastables video. Because whatever implosion is going on over there (I’ve been seeing stuff about illegal lotteries and marketing schemes specifically aimed to exploit a mainly child audience) can in no way impact the DTeam. The DTeam was cut off from Mr. Beast by that team and currently have nothing to do with Mr. Beast’s team. So when the Drideo drops, it should not be affected by all the Mr. Beast mud being stirred up.
EXACTLY I was actually thinking about this yesterday, that George and dteam dodged a MASSIVE bullet due to the events in March.
Its a bittersweet win of course, but a win nonetheless that any of dteam aren’t involved in yet another controversy surrounding potential grooming or innappropriate interactions with minors due to this mr beast stuff ESPECIALLY after one of those “””ex employees””” (I say that in quotes bc I don’t think it’s verified yet) said that there are more people within the company who are weirdos. And if dteam weren’t clearly removed from collaborating with them lately, then I’m SURE the target would be pointed to them eventually

yall have got to be more normal about Southern people and I'm not kidding. enough of the Sweet Home Alabama incest jokes, enough of the idea that all Southerners are bigots and rednecks, and enough of the idea that the South has bad food. shut up about "trailer trash" and our accents and our hobbies!
do yall know how fucking nauseating it is to hear people only bring up my state to make jokes about people in poverty and incestuous relationships? how much shame I feel that I wasn't born up north like the Good Queers and Good Leftists with all the Civilised Folk with actual houses instead of small cramped trailers that have paper thin walls that I know won't protect me in a bad enough storm?
do yall know how frustrating it is to be trans in a place that wants to kill you and whenever you bring it up to people they say "well just move out" instead of sympathizing with you or offering help?
do yall understand how alienating it is to see huge masterposts of queer and mental health resources but none of them are in your state because theyre all up north? and nobody seems to want to fix this glaring issue because "they're all hicks anyways"
Southern people deserve better. we deserve to be taken seriously and given a voice in the queer community and the mental health space and leftist talks in general.

It's truly wild to me how many people out there don't understand that the Star Wars prequels are a tragedy or how tragedies work.
Posts like "these are the Jedi failed movies" truly just make me shake my head. They're actually the "fascism wears a smile until it strikes you down and then it's too late" movies. They're the "the senate became corrupt and clapped in the face of genocide" movies. They're the "make people scared enough of war until they accept authoritarianism" movies. They're the "fear and possessiveness will tear you up on the inside" movies. The Jedi were the heroes of lore, people loved and looked up to them, looked to them for safety, and then too much got put on their shoulders on purpose by Palpatine, and also by a senate that didn't want to act (not you Padme and Bail and Mon, you're perfect). They were drafted and used and scapegoated, which is, you know, a tenet of the vast majority of authoritarian governments (Hitler and Stalin, for instance, might be on different ends of the political spectrum, but they sure both did scapegoat specific groups and commit mass murder, just differently).
When some people say "these movies are about the fall of the Jedi" what they mean is "the Jedi failed" but that's not what "the fall of the Jedi means." It means they were wiped the fuck OUT. Like, Jesus, in Rogue One Tarkin is talking about burning out the final MEMORY of the Jedi by blowing up the holy city in Jedha. Palpatine had to get rid of the Jedi because to get rid of the Jedi was to get rid of the final people standing in his way after he had already worn them out. His intention was not only to kill them, but to alter the galaxy's entire perception of them. To rip away hope. People are always looking for the Jedi to be Bad or nitpick their mistakes (because while other people are allowed to make mistakes, the Jedi never are). Palpatine made himself look like a benevolent grandpa who would keep everyone safe. And that, more than anything, is what gave him SO much power. He stole the narrative.
It's just like. Of course WE know what was going to happen! We know from watching the OT that the PT can only end in tragedy. But the characters don't know that! They don't have all the info! That's how a tragic story structure works. We see it coming and they can't.
Anyway. The Jedi are laser-sword wielding monks with psychic powers who just wanted to do what they could to help. The world would be better if more folks remembered that.

it beggars belief that someone would choose to read a book in the “horror” genre, whose literal name promises that it will be full of upsetting, disgusting, frightening—one might even say horrifying—material, and then get mad that the book contains incest or whatever. like holy shit. they are not gonna make it in the real world

It's really easy to get disillusioned as a trans man in online (read: Twitter and Tumblr) trans discussions because like. in one day you can get refused a job for being a "woman", get disowned by your family for being trans, and get cut off by your friends for 'choosing to be the enemy'.
And then you log on and the extent of transmasculine discussion seems to be "do trans men have male privilege?" And "do trans men experience misogyny?" And it's really easy to look at that and go "This is the extent of transmasculine discussion? This sucks, this doesn't even begin to talk about my struggles. People don't even want to understand or listen to us." When plenty of people actually do, but you're just on Twimblr.

If the transmasc artist is canceled for drawing a pregnant trans man, would he get TWICE AS CANCELED if he drew a trans man pregnant with twins?

I'm going to say it again
Cis Heteromantic Asexuals are Queer.
Cis Aromantic Heterosexuals are Queer.
If you are Ace or Aro you do not need another signifier to be Queer full stop.

On Tommy Kinard
"It's not that I don't like Buck and Tommy, it's just happening so fast, he's underdeveloped!"
*clears throat*
Here is a recap of what we know about Tommy. And this is just off the top of my head, I didn't rewatch anything.
He was closeted at the 118 before and found the atmosphere repressive. He (probably) acted like a dick to fit in. When presented with the chance to make things better, he took it, and developed positive relationships with Hen, Chim and Bobby.
He was in the army and trained there as a pilot.
He knows Muay Thai and has a set up in his house.
He likes to work on cars and has a lift at his house (where TF does he live is my question - he has some nerve being agog at Buck's loft if he has a muay thai gym and a car lift)
He is down for violating departmental policy at the drop of a hat (has done so on at least two occasions) to help a friend and has no problems fucking with the fire chief.
He is a nerd. He likes pub trivia and has incorrect Star Wars opinions, and can keep up with Chim in the movie-quoting department.
His favorite movie is "Love, Actually" and he likes craft beer and monster trucks.
He came out when he transferred to Harbor and felt comfortable enough to stop lying about who he was.
He follows MMA and has friends in Vegas who like him well enough to hook him up to a frankly insane degree.
He'll risk his own life and engage in helicopter skulduggery to save people he doesn't know...I mean, apart from doing that for a living.
He'll take time out of his day to give a tour to the cute boy who called him up and offer to give that boy flying lessons (a significant time investment) which was probably maybe about more one on one time with said boy.
He yearns for the belonging and found family that the 118 became after his departure and probably befriended Eddie hoping to earn a plate at the cookout, aside from just clicking with him.
He likes Eddie and Chris a lot and they like him. Chimney also likes him.
He was attracted to Buck right away and was emotionally aware enough to pick up on Buck's jealous feelings over Eddie and his friendship, even if he was surprised that it was him Buck wanted to get to know.
He respects and values Buck and Eddie's friendship and wanted to make sure Buck knew that.
He's brave enough to shoot his shot by planting one on a dude.
He's a lil bitchy but also generous and ready to throw in with this insane guy who's inviting him to a family wedding after 0.5 dates.
He showed up to a bachelor party when he was on call because Buck asked him to, then showed up in turnouts after fighting a fire for like 12 hours yadda yadda we all know this part.
He has got it BAD for one Evan Buckley, who he only calls "Evan" which according to LFJR is a conscious decision by the writers, which fascinates me.
He was willing to take a chance with a man just discovering his sexuality BUT wasn't willing to put himself through that if the man in question wasn't ready for it. When Buck showed him that he was, he was all in.
He does NOT take his coffee like that.
Oh and
He's a beast.
This is VASTLY more information than we knew about ANY of Buck's previous girlfriends with the possible exception of Abby. Even Taylor did not get this much development over 20 episodes (things we knew about her: she was an ambitious and ethically flexible reporter, did not eat fudge, had a dad in jail, and sometimes jogged for exercise, she was capable of being nice and did love Buck, I believe). And as for it being fast? Sometimes it just be like that? A relationship doesn't have to have year(s) of buildup. Sometimes people do just meet, like each other, and start dating, in fact in the real world that's usually what happens. It's in TV Land that you have to have eighteen seasons of UST before pulling the trigger. Most of the time in reality people just vibe off each other and decide to go out and THEN they learn about each other.
And they've got a great start. You'd think they'd barely spoken by how a few naysayers are talking about it - the loft scene was like a solid five minutes of very open conversation, the Cringe Date seemed to have gone well and again, open and honest (if cringey) conversation before Cockblocker Eddie showed up, and the coffee meetup was again....open and honest conversation. They're not gonna show us long scenes of them exchanging firefighting stories and workout preferences (I mean, I'd watch that, but it's not what the show is about).
In conclusion, anyone saying he's poorly developed or the relationship is "out of nowhere" either is being willfully obtuse or has ridiculously unrealistic expectations for relationships and/or what constitutes character development.
As for whether they have chemistry, that's a matter of subjective opinion. Given that a TON of people watched that harbor tour scene (even when it was posted as a sneak peek) and started going "wait...what's going on here...are they flirting??" might be a clue. People were talking about Bi!Buck maybe happening with Tommy based solely off that clip of the harbor tour and what they were seeing between them. And imho that loft scene was crackling. But we all see things through the lenses of our biases, myself included.
Got that off my chest, whew.

They were not kidding when they said your favorite interests years ago don’t disappear but just go dormant until you get back into it. Thinking of emerald duo and the banger of a line that was "for you the world, Phil" that was such an insane thing to say. They were THE duo. Nobody could rival what their characters had. No other character duo had this deep of understanding like they did.
Before the doomsday event when techno gave him his only totem of undying to Phil and telling him to drink invisibility pots away from the battle ground. Phil letting himself be used by Techno as the last resort at the drop of a hat as his hidden blade and Techno never allowing for such a situation to occur. Techno trusting Phil with a compass of his location after losing all trust in other characters. Phil trying to aim for the falling anvil with a bow. Techno lashing out at the possibility that they hurt Phil while he's being sent to his execution because there is no world that Phil would willingly give out his base location. Their log cabin connected with a bridge. Iconic. Techno telling Phil that his code name should be Zephyrus not Daedalus because he is so much more than his son's killer. Phil seeing Techno as a kind man in a world that sees him as a living threat. Techno always assuring others that Phil is very capable despite his wings being damaged beyond repair. It was like if you had a target on your back from one, you best believe the other did too.
A god and an angel. Literal match made in hell. They were my absolute favorites <3

Hey, legit question from someone trying to approach transandrophobia discourse in good faith. It seems to me that a lot of the disagreements on this topic are centred on the idea of whether or not trans men and transmascs have male privilege. I get where the pushback on this comes from, as many transmascs have lived a good percentage of their lives in the closet, where society treated them like cis women.
However, if we say that they don't have male privilege because they were raised to be women, aren't we implying that trans women do have male privilege because they were raised to be men? Cos that's terf ideology 101.
Acknowledging that gay men have privilege over gay women isn't saying that gay men have it easy, or that they aren't oppressed for being gay (I assume you don't disagree with this?) So why is saying the same thing about trans men different?
Trans women don't have male privilege on account of them being trans women, They grasp for what trans men are tainted with from birth. It's super not that complicated but people keep not getting it because they see someone say "I like pancakes" and read "I hate waffles."
Misogyny affects women and people perceived to be women. I can't vibe with this bizarre alternate universe other people live in where someone just has to say "I'm a man" to get others to stop treating them misogynistically! People will really come out here and say that transitioning towards manhood is looked upon with reverence, as though men oppress women until one decides they'd like to be on top themselves at which point they roll out the red carpet and pop bottles congratulating them on choosing to be the superior gender.

Alice Dyer is NOT Tim 2.0. Their humor is completely different. Canon Tim is incredibly different from fanon tim. He is funny sometimes, but when it comes down to it, his humor comes down to “millenial who makes the occasional pop culture reference and is jokingly flirty sometimes”. He knows what a meme is, but his meme knowledge is not that far advanced from “I can haz cheesburger” cat. He is not hip with the memes. Alice is the one who is hip with the memes. Please let this woman be cringe and let Timothy Stoker be free from the chains of comedic relief meme guy.

“If you see your art here and it needs to be credited message me” is basically just “Credit to the artist” with extra steps. Artists shouldn’t have to go out of their way to get you to credit them, if you’re running a blog or page using other peoples work its 100% on you to do it as ethically as possible and track the artist down before you go sharing their art. If it takes too much time, imagine how much longer the artist worked on that piece. Its not a clever loophole, its a sucky practice.
