The BEST line I have ever read from a Ford x Reader Fic
was something along the lines of "I want him to grab me like how he grabs that chicken sandwich."
Tumblr media
I have searched endlessly for this one-shot. I haven't seen it in at least two years, (honestly probably more). I fear it has been deleted. But I think about this line all the time.
To whoever made this masterpiece, I hope life is treating you well and I love you

thank you @emziess for the tag!!!!! I always love doing these
I think the most obvious thing here is my obsession with trying to get the scene to look as neutral as possible. that translates into me mostly working with blue/cold undertones to combat the stupid yellow filter most shows have. it's fun except when it's not.

i think the various dynamics of hilson in fic are SO fascinating to consider. i've read ones where house is smitten and bisexual and waiting for the penny to drop for wilson, or vice versa, and ones where they both are crazy about each other but don't want to say anything for fear of ruining the friendship, or ones where both of them are mired in repression so deep that their game of gay chicken only ends when they're in bed together (doing distinctly more than just being in bed together sjkfjkh) its so fun how many options we have!!!

buddie -> “I don’t think it’s gonna fit”
"I don't think it's gonna fit."
Eddie grunts, his hips canting forward almost on reflex. "It has to."
Buck pauses, sweat beading on his forehead. "The fuck do you mean it has to? No the fuck it doesn't?"
"Buck," Eddie sighs, lifting his shirt to dab at his temples, his brow set in a way that causes heat to pool in Buck's stomach. "We're making it fit."
Buck gulps quietly, squeaking out a weak, "It's just a couch, Eds! We can get a new one—"
"No." Eddie growls, his shoulder digging into the soft cushion. "We spent way too long shopping to find a couch big enough for the both of us. It fits the living room, it's a pretty colour, it just—" Eddie grunts again, seemingly pressing his full body weight into the side of the couch. "We'll make it work."
Something warm blooms in Buck's chest over the casual possession, the couch being labelled as theirs in such a nonchalant way. He can't help but grin to himself as he digs his fingers in, setting his jaw.
"Yeah, Eds. We'll make it work. We always do."
send me a ship + a sentence and i'll write the next 5(ish)

have you posted about gelato before :o ?
honestly, every mention ive made of Gelato in the past month or so has just been through the tags of some posts ive reblogged on here, it's only been until now that ive gotten around to showing him off!
this is Gelato, a Flamingo/Secretarybird mix that my friend @meetthehelper put together!
Tumblr media
for a while, i've been wanting to figure out a bird fursona for myself, and i wanted one that had a similar silhouette to that of Scratch (i.e. Scratch & Grounder), and the bird that seemed to make the most sense to me was a flamingo. it was Helper's idea to mix him with another bird species, and i really like what she ended up with :)!
#ask#catboygirljoker#Gelato#my characters#his name is Gelato specifically because of Mario Sunshine. i wanted a name that translated from a different language#and i was saying this to a friend and they were just like ''name him Gelato'' and so i did :)#i think it fits given Gelato Beach is a pink sand beach. and the surf boards that appear on the beach (ill get into that in a second)#my lore for him atm is very barebones. besides his main hobby being surfing. and him living at friends places... couch surfer... etc. etc.#basically my friends bird's main hobby is skating. like jet set radio. and so i wanted something similar for my dude#the reason i chose surfing was to tie it in with him being a flamingo. his name being based off a beach from mario. and sims 2 on xbox#specifically sims 2 on xbox because of the surfing simulation object that appears on the second location of the story mode.#it's kinda stuck with me. probably because i couldn't ever get past the second location as a kid.#anyway. to continue. in the sketch he's wearing arm warmers. which he wears for emotional support.#primarily due to my hyperfixation with Zarbon and how much i think about arm warmers as a concept.#idk i think about what'd happen if i wore some and i feel like my brain would turn off#and so that kinda escalated into me applying that kind of attachment to Gelato#i imagine his voice being a deepish regal and flamboyant surfer voice. like think Zarbon's voice mixed with Bill (& Ted)'s#ive not heard such a voice combo. but for him im pretending it exists. it's allowed.#truthfully i wasn't sure how interested folks would be about him. probably cause i only talk about him in the tags.#anyway!!! thank you for asking about Gelato!!! ive been wanting to talk about him but havent found the right opportunity

Two weekends of work later, and I've finally finished my hardcover version of @flying-guinea-pig's So You Want To Be A Demonologist! I've never bound a book before, so this was definitely a new experience for me, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

Patreon Postcard October 2024 I love horror movies. One day I hope to find something that is even one tenth as scary as watching Unsolved Mysteries as a kid. Nothing will ever top Robert Stack making you paranoid that everyone in your apartment building is a wanted murderer.

How do omni-tools work? In ME1, they're equipment and don't get used much in-game cinematics or cutscenes. To be fair, I chalk that up to the property being new.
But in 2 onwards, they seem to be almost cybernetic. People make a gesture and all of a sudden, they have an omni-tool. Even people who aren't outfitted in armor or military gear.
I figured in 1 they were a device fastened to a bracer or gauntlet, or some other article of clothing or armor. But that doesn't really seem to be the case.
The codex tells us that omni-tools "are handheld devices that combine a computer microframe, sensor analysis pack, and minifacturing fabricator."
In the novels, the device is pulled from pockets and belts so they're fairly small. I think it's about what is practical for the person using them: a form of wristband might be easier when it comes to specific tasks (scanning, hacking, etc). It might help to think about we use tech. Recently I was typing on my phone with both hands, something I never usually do, and it was strange enough that I noticed. I'm also right-handed. If I were to use the omni-tool, it would be in my pocket for safekeeping or tied to my wrist and I would use my right hand to access the screen. Someone else might use it another way. So the tool can definitely be tailored to the person using it. It's just that soldiers on the battlefield can't be looking for it.
And speaking of the screen, that's probably what you mean by "suddenly they have an omni-tool". The omni-tool is the device itself, but just like the Ipad is an object, what occurs on the screen is what gets our attention. Since the omni-tool is so common in that universe, I guess I sometimes forget how powerful it is, with projecting images/hacking/repair/videotaping/etc. The wiki lists all the fonctions here. There are modules inside the omni-tool, so a lot can be done with it.
I also like this part from the Mass Effect Andromeda codex "Pathfinder omni-tools take design inspiration from the models used by salarian intelligence services, prioritizing the computer microframe to allow lag-free scanning and AI support." We can only imagine what the salarian are doing with their omni-tools!!! And we know the Alliance worked on their omni-tools to adapt melee combat. In the game itself you get access to advanced models that you can equip.
So I don't think the omni-tool itself is cybernetic, it's just that it's Mass Effect. The Lazarus Project and everything else that was alluded to in the trilogy and CDN might mean some people will do a lot of things to use and adapt tech like this.
