Eric watched as Dark laid out newspapers along the tub. Such a fine tub — so clean. The cat wilted, ears pressing down as he thought about having to- to- to go to the bathroom. He shuddered at the very thought. Eating, going to the bathroom. Awful, awful, awful. He shook himself again, and he then noticed the start hairs that flew off of him. He was making a mess.

A long, low mewl of disconcertion came from his throat, and Dark looked over with confusion. After a moment of hesitation, they reached over to rub his head. Eric had quickly learned this soothed Dark as much as it felt good for Eric. “It’s just temporary. I doubt that this will last long. No more than a week.” Eric certainly hoped it would be shorter. A week? Unable to make sure everyone was okay? Unable to clean??? The world will fall to disarray! Chaos! Discord! Madness!

Dark was quiet as they rubbed his soft ears, then letting their hand run along his back slowly. Eric crept closer until barely pressed against their side and settled his head on their leg. His ears swiveled at every subtle crack and pop of their body, upset rising in Eric’s throat.

“Come along,” they sighed, standing carefully as more bones crackled against Eric’s ears. “You should be able to sleep through most of it, I would think. We’ll get you settled on the bed.”

Eric’s little pink nose wrinkled at that. He had seen the bed on the way in: crumpled and messy. It would need to be made before anything. He scampered off the ledge of the tub and sprinted ahead of Dark who startled at the the suddenness.

The cat leapt onto the bed and promptly collapsed with a less-than spectacular landing before pushing himself back up onto his paws. He stumbled across the foam mattress, but he had set himself to a task. Using his mouth (awful, terrible, so many germs, he hated this), Eric began his tedious undertaking of making the bed. Dark finished shuffling their way to stand in the doorframe to the en suite, watching with both amusement and bemusement. Each step that the cat took grew more confident by the meticulousness of walking back and forth to straighten the sheets just right.

Eric not moved to trek over to grab the next layer but rather froze, a paw hovering over the ‘pristinely’ placed sheets. He would– He would wrinkle it! Ruin it! The bed will fall to disarray!! Eric shrank back, tail between legs as he bumped the headboard. He couldn’t finish the bed without ruining it. An upset warble (?) sat in his throat, and he circled to hide in the pillows with a whimper.

All of this was terrible! Couldn’t cook, couldn’t clean, couldn’t even make a bed! He whined beneath the pillow, too upset to silence himself. While the cat fell into despair, Dark sighed and shuffled to Eric, dragging themself over by their cane. Their free hand moved with slight movements, and the rest of the covers drifted into the air by Dark’s will and made themselves on the mattress. Eric’s hairs stood on end and led him to peeking his head out as his nerves were now on edge.

The brown of his irises bloomed with dilated pupils as the magic finished making the bed. Clean! Neat! CREASELESS AND WITHOUT WRINKLES!!! He started trembling? and he whipped his head to find the source, stumbling out from behind the pillows as his chest continued rumbling.

A grey hand settled on his head, causing Eric to look up at Dark who rubbed — oh, that feels really nice — his ears. “Glad to have your approval,” they chuckled — also very nice; had he ever heard Dark chuckle before? — which only confused the former android more. How did they know that he liked the made bed?

Eric chirped at them in approval; this seemed to interrupt the strange vibrations for a moment, so he chirped again, only for the rumbled to resume. A little frustrated, he chirped over and over, worry crossing Dark’s face as he continued. “Are you… hiccuping?” Eric shook his head, his purrs overtaking him again when he stopped. “Okay, sleep as much as you can. It’ll help make the time go by faster.”

alright so dabihawks (attempted murder) is a fine ship to you but spinner being devoted to shigaraki is where you draw the line? oooookay.

Tagging this as mature because it's very personal and I would rather people be careful about reading it.

Bro, I literally said I was one of the first in the western fandom talking about this ship. One of the first to write about it too and I gots the receipts.

But I also did that years ago when I wasn't diagnosed with a disorder that makes me act a lot like a cross between Spinner and Toga with a heavy side of Keigo syle manipulation. It's fucking scary to start seeing unhealthy patterns like that in what people think good romance is because I think it led me to not realizing something was extremely wrong with me and my attachment to other people.

Praising Spinner's shift of loyalty and purpose to be around achieving Shigaraki's dream really cemented something in my mind at the time - and I don't know if any of you remember me in 2018-2019 and early 2020, but I was clearly obsessed with someone on here and it was hurting us both.

Like I said, I don't think it's problematic for someone to ship it, I just am wary of romanticizing relationships where a person completely changes an identity for a person after reflecting on why that appealed to me in the first place. If you don't get why that's a scary thing, I'm happy for you. No, really. I hope you never have to be on the receiving end of that sort of affection in real life. But given it's common for therapists to refuse to treat borderlines, you can stand to think a bit more why I'd be uncomfortable outright.

Also you missed the mark with Dabihawks. I created the Jinkei/Twicehawks server, remember? Though in that case I never ever see the awful things Hawks does romanticized and there's a very clear moral judgment that manipulation is bad actually, which is why it feels healthier because, at least in the jinkei fandom I cultivated in my server, we all have consensus on the shortcomings. Bad habits are treated as bad, where the devotion to the point of self sacrifice that I see Spinner get written is rarely acknowledged as harmful.

Anyway this is the last ask I am taking on this. I don't like making ship wars. I just explained that there's aspects of fanon spinner that take canon Spinner's fatal flaws (his lack of believing in himself as worthy of love and being a person on his own merits) and turn it up to eleven for the purposes of shipping and why I dislike that. Please respect that I changed my mind on the ship due to my own struggle to fight my mental illness and that's it.

Do u think it's cool that they're are fan artists for animes/mangas/cartoons/shows/games/comics that MIMIC the canon style for their ocs or the canon characters?I just think it's interesting and like to hear what artists think of that😭

Hi Anon..this is kind of a tricky question..do you mean mimic art syle for the face? Coz basically the way I come up also with my own art style (especially faces) is hugely influenced by the animes & shows I follow like Naruto & Final Fantasy. First thing that got me to like these shows is because of the way they are drawn.

I just think that whether artists come up with their own style for their OC's or mimic canon characters, these pieces of art are for sure influenced by the shows/comics/mangas they love.

For me, there is no wrong when you mimic the artstyle especially when you really love the canon artstyle (I myself wanted to really be as close to how Kishi draws Naruto characters..but my own style just really comes out I guess).

Copying/mimicking is also how you learn. And in time you eventually get to find your own art style and even make it even better than the canon you use as reference. But also, be sure to acknowledge the person/show/manga/anime you use as inspiration or reference for your drawings.

jyushimatsu is also a contender. 80's shoot syle pro wrestling (forcused on legit holds and strikes) evolved into mixed martial arts and jyushimatsu canonically is a pro wrestling fan so he can throw you, armbar you and german suplex you.

actually even though choro has a lot of pent of rage and violence inside hes pretty clumsy so in a genuine fight (he cant stop tripping on nothing) i think hed struggle also i think he has the flight instinct where jyushimatsu is fight

thoughts and concepts on the in-universe persona 5 fandom

it’s established that the phantom thieves do have quite the following, but the okumura thing coupled with the fact that, to the public, they vanished off the face of the earth after shido, makes me think that the people who still like the phantom thieves are mostly the people whose lives were bettered because of them. however, shido’s calling card makes it plenty easy for people to latch on, because by then they’re no longer just some nebulous entities, they’re actual real people, with bodies and all that, even if it’s just silhouettes. people have been given less and created more.

so just some concepts:

people enhancing the shido calling card image until they can see (vaguely) the colors of their clothes and the syle of clothes too, and everyone being grateful to the one who sank hours into trying to decipher the clothes and come up with a general, close idea of what they look like in full color

(probably not mishima, but you know he’d be supportive of that)

((people going wild over panther’s... skin window and fox’s weird zipper-not-zipped-up thing is really funny to me lol just imagine))

fanart and fanworks!! as well as fan-made merchandise, lol. they won’t get Everything right but can you imagine all the fanfiction. all the concepts. people are gonna go wild with hcs esp since Nothing about the thieves was released prior to this. you get eight silhouettes and That’s It. (and joker’s mask and fringe but whatever) all those different possibilities!!

theories about ‘what did they base the logo off of’- the most popular theory is that they just went with a stereotype of a ‘gentleman phantom thief’ like the arsene lupin novels, but then what was with that terrible first logo and why??? (ryuji sulks over that, but only a little)

theories about ‘how do they change hearts’- most people just think the stealing thing is figurative but there’s always a few theories that are scarily accurate and the thieves over there are sweating. those ones are usually integrated as highly detailed worldbuilding fics, but improbable because come on, we’re talking about real life here!

of course, fanfictions as well; there’s only a few really that are still going (most were started and ended during/after the pre-okumura death so like. oof) but there are a Wide range, with like a million different ocs and stuff. (does mishima write fanfiction? probably not but like. ajkdflkajhd if he did)

(newcomers quickly learn that here, nothing is canon, and basically everything goes)

people using silhouettes to make personalities that are sometimes accurate, mostly not lol (unless it comes to joker). futaba sometimes sends screenshots of the most hilarious ones, like skull being a thug or noir being old-fashioned or mona being the most big brained member of the team-

shipping hcs- and yeah it can get messy but like. people shipping fox and oracle bc height difference. people shipping skull and joker because he addressed joker as ‘leader’ in their own solo shot. people shipping noir and oracle because they’re the shortest. people shipping panther and queen bc they’re a good ‘hot and dangerous’ combo. idk man go wild all you have to go off of are silhouettes anyway- (there’s also That One Guy who ships mona and panther because cats)

cosplays of them- people who just make up a typical thief outfit and call themselves a phantom thief pre-shido calling card. people who spend a lot of time getting REALLY CLOSE to the established outfits, and getting Almost The Same :) people who put on joker’s mask and a coat and call it a day. 

CONS!!! CONVENTION BOOTHS WITH PHAN MERCH!! like it’s not gonna be really a Big thing probably, but like! a few stalls here and there packed with red and white and black!! little charms of their silhouettes and their logo. 

that being said, pHANTOM THIEVES GO TO A CON COSPLAYING AS THEMSELVES AND EVERYONE IS NONE THE WISER XD

everyone is amazed and impressed at the detail of the cosplay, with their own added flair to explain the little details that nobody would have noticed. haru probably helped fund the efforts. (yes, everyone loves that they brought an actual cat for the cat thing next to the leader :3)

((alternatively, they go in with REALLY BAD cosplay, like 94.8% knockoff stuff. spray-painted swimming goggles for futaba, shoulder pads spliced from two cheap barbarian costumes for makoto, a handkerchief cravat for haru, a trench coat with only half the collar needed and only two sections at the end stop whining akira its the best we could do on short notice, ect and everyone is still none the wiser-))

I just found a pretty big mathematical mistake in The Sandman audio drama and the current Dreaming: Waking Hours comics

I just noticed a pretty glaring retcon from The Sandman audio drama that carried over into The Dreaming: Waking Hours.  Sykes and Ethel ran off together in 1930.  Sykes' head exploded after Ethel left him (taking the protection amulet with her) in 1936. She was pregnant when she left Sykes.  That's six years after she left Roderick.

Yet in the audio drama and The Dreaming: Waking Hours, the baby is Roderick's child.

I had once suspected that John Dee (Doctor Destiny) was Alex's brother but thought it wouldn't work mathematically... and it really doesn't. And in the audio drama Neil does say "years of curses" caught up to Sykes.    It would not have been years if the baby she was carrying was Roderick's.   She'd have been away from Roderick too long.

The only way that baby is Roderick’s is if she was pregnant for six years.  That’s longer than Lyta with Daniel!

Ethel's baby was supposedly Roderick's bastard child but the pregnancy is when she leaves Sykes.  And even Neil's narration says "years of curses" caught up to Sykes. The curses would have only started after Syles and Ethel left together.   Though I love the idea of Doctor Destiny being Alex's brother, mathematically it doesn't work.

Ethel walked out on Roderick in 1930.  She walked out on Sykes in 1936 (while pregnant). And "Years of curses" (which would have only gone into play after Ethel left Roderick) caught up to Sykes (based on the narration of the audio drama).  And yet both the audio drama and The Dreaming: Waking Hours claim the baby is Roderick's.  The only way that works is if she was pregnant for six years. I can’t believe I hadn’t noticed.   Well, I must have noticed when I first theorized that Doctor Destiny was Roderick's because I recanted the theory on the grounds that I didn't think it mathematically made sense but I forgot why and how it didn't make sense when it became canon to the audio drama and The Dreaming: Waking Hours spin-off.  And then tonight it hit me when I off-handedly mentioned the “years of curses” catching up to Sykes.  And I was like “Wait a moment.  ‘Years of curses...’“

Do I dare tag Neil Gaiman about this?

My story:

I was born into a nice family on Earth in 2087 before volunteering for the new exploration program “Operation: Arrowhead.”  I was taught how to fight, survive, and tolerate conditions outside of Earth before I was deployed in the state-of-the-art interstellar-traveling space ship, the Theseus.  Before I knew it, the world was enveloped into World War III and everyone started to destroy each other through nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missiles, even through other means of WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction) such as mass cyber-hacking, bio-chip hacking, chemical warfare, and more.  I was sent off into space before I could meet a similar fate as my family did.  I miss them to this day.  Now, I travel the many different universes, galaxies, and known reaches of space to help study and protect the worlds that I come across in my travels, lest the same sad fate happens to Earth.

Top three ships: ehhh,,, my ships change a lot? But I guess I could say that my top three favorite ships could be Voxman (Lord Boxman x Professor Venomous, OK K.O.!: Let’s Be Heroes), Rajawn (Raj x Shawn, Craig of the Creek; has barely any content but they’re pretty freakin’ adorable in the canon), and Frock (Master Frown x Brock, Unikitty!). I love cartoons, and shipping happens to be one of the ways I like to express my love for it, so I tend to multiship and change interest in ships as my love for certain characters or cartoons shift. I should make a list for this lmao,,,

I had originally intended to do another complex piece for my second picture, of the crew sitting around the fire as they told their tales. Unfortunately, I ran out of time. Luckily the polystuck mod considered my character designs more than enough as-is, so I instead cleaned them up and made charater cards out of them. (Text by excellent fic writer and co-collaborator Riso)

I still hope to do the piece intended at a later date. Feel free to poke me in a few months if no sign of it has popped up on my queue rotation.

Wardrobe details under the cut

SS already had a canon exile outfit, so he was a bit easier than the others (Other than the hat thing, that was pretty difficult to rotate frontwise) I ended up modding his canon outfit into a poncho, cause I couldn’t quite figure out where the arms would go otherwise. Plus it’s just good sense to have an outer layer in a hot desert. Dunno how he fastens the thing either way, nor what it’s made out of, but meh. In retrospect should have probably added some wear and tear to him like I did for the others.

HB was described as wearing bloody sheets, so he was obviously getting some kind of toga or similar greco-roman-ish garment made from a rectangle of fabric. I think what I ended up with suits him. It’s called a chiton, and the pun totally cinched it for me.

And there was absolutely no way CD was ending up with anything less but the most elaborate headwear post-apocalyptic Earth could provide him and as much cheap bling as he could carry. Toss in a rolled-in-dirt look, and the obvious end results of what fiddling with volatile explosive components is going to do to one’s amusingly oversized garments, and his outfit was decided.

DD was a bit trickier. What happens to one’s accoutrements when such a fastidious person meets the wasteland? Especially someone described as “depraved” and “dangerous” in his new position. I figured that there were two main ways I could go with it:

He may get a smudge of dirt on his clothes and declare the situation unsalveageable and descend into unfashionable madness.

Or he might realize to his horror that his usual deportment is untenable in a desert and decide his only option is to go against his own taste and adopt and adapt as best he can to post-apocalyptic syle, sobbing as he rips fashionable holes into his cape

In the end I leaned more heavily in the latter direction. He obviously cared enough to patch his chic military coat. And although the cloak is hiding it he carries a cloth with him to wipe surfaces before sitting.
