Hi so I just binged Castle Swimmers and i think thats its so well written! I love the characters and the growing lore! I really like how diverse your designs are! Also you write romance so well! Like you can feel the love from siren and kappa!
I also want to say seeing your improvement while reading through it really inspired me. I’ve been in a rut with my art lately but seeing you’re journey made me understand something about myself and art.
Sorry for rambling about personal stuff randomly, i just wanted to show my appreciation for your amazing comic!
Also little Siren is precious 🥺
Thank you so much for reading! I’m so happy you were able to connect with the art and story! 😁💖💖

In one of your posts you said that if castle swimmer ever got picked for a show, you probably wouldn’t have any involvement which isn’t necessarily true. Heartstopper got a live adaptation and Alice Oseman was involved greatly in the process!
Also would you prefer a animated series or live adaptation?
It depends on the studio. They could have me involved for reference on the story and characters but that doesn’t mean they have to abide by anything I say. It’s just that the studio has complete control over what they create and they don’t need any kind of approval from me like the books do.
Just trying to set expectations lol. It could happen one day! And I think an animated adaptation would be cool. I never thought it would be turned into a books so I suppose anything is possible.

Hello! I’ve been studying comic creation and wanted to know if you use story beats? If so, would you recommend using them or just sticking to a storyboard to outline a comic?
This one is more invasive so feel free not to answer — but — do you have any examples of your story beats or any plot outlines (no spoilers of course) that you could share? I want to know what they look like in practice, if that’s okay.
Thank you for your time!! ❤️❤️ Sorry for the many questions 😓🥲
My current method for planning out the story is kind of chaotic and not what I would recommend 😂
It’s mostly because of the time constraints with the webtoon schedule. I basically organize the story in whatever way is fastest. At the moment that is just a long bullet list of events and I will also make a very loose list of everything that happens in an episode before I start drawing the draft. A lot of the dialogue is written on the spot and there’s not much time to really polish anything up.
In the future I would like to be able to spend more time planning out the story and script and having time to make an actual storyboard before jumping into the final artwork.

Hello, I'm entirely new to this blog (and tumblr asks overall). I wanted to say that I've been updating myself on Castle Swimmer the past few days, and this webtoon is such a gem. I can barely qualify how much love I have for it. It's one among the 2 webtoon that I qualify as my favorites of all time, it's purely magnificient in every aspect and I can't thank you enough for this masterpiece 💞
On another note, I've been picking up on some details and theories on my own lately. I was wondering if you're interested about them/would like to see it ? And if that was the case, where would be the best space/platform where I could share it/send it to you, aswell as the community by extention ? (ofc it wouldn't be out of expecting replies, just the pleasure itself of crafting and sharing theories).
And on a last note, I'm sending all love and support and hope you take care ❣️
Thank you for reading the comic! I’m so happy you’ve been enjoying it! :)
You’re welcome to post theories anywhere you like! You can post them in a different ask if you want 👍

Is kappa ace?
He's literally a God's child so maybe he don't feel that kind of attraction?
Maybe?
He’s not.
Neth is ace tho.

What kind of special content is in the CS book?
There’s an extra scene exclusive to each book plus some additional info at the end being either Lore or info about the creation of the comic and book.

I have literally been obsessed with CS lately and I have like two questions, mainly to you as an artist. 1) what art program do you use? 2) can I make fan art of your characters?
I use clip studio paint! And I would love if you made fan art!
Thanks so much for reading my comic!! 🥰

are the angel skin in bird boys similar to the minigods in castle swimmer?
Only in the sense that they are very powerful. Other than that they’re very different.

Hello, miss Wendy!
Sorry, I don't know if anyone asked you this before, but do you have any tips on how to grow an audience as a comic artist?
I've been drawing my comic for three years already, and, well, I admit, it's been a very slow pace (like a chapter once a month of few, since it’s not my main job), so maybe that's the problem. But anyway, I feel like I don't know how to properly present my stuff to people, except publishing my work on some resources like WEBTOON/Tapas, etc.
Maybe you've encountered a similar problem in the past?
And I feel like I said it everywhere but here already, but Castle swimmer has a very special place in my heart, thank you for creating it!! And congratulations on publishing volume 1!!!🐠
Thank you!!
And some tips I could give is to try and be very active in online art communities. Promote your stuff but also try and talk to other artists at a similar level as you and boost their work so you can become friends and grow together. Building an audience is a skill in itself and can take a bit of social and networking skills. It can also take a long time.
I was active online for about 5-6 years before I started to grow a decent following. And I’m pretty sure I posted way less often than you did so don’t stress too much about your output. It’s not your main job so just do what you can!
Another thing I did early on was draw a good deal of fanart for fandoms I was interested in and that helped to get me started. However, if you want people to follow you specifically for your original work, it’s a good idea to focus on that.
It can take a while but my advice is to just keep working on your art and comics, be as active in online art and comic communities as much as you’re able and always try to grow and improve your work.
Also, if you’ve already been making a comic for three years that’s incredible and it’s way farther than most people get who want to make comics. You should be proud of that!
