introductions | blake hughes au
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[blake hughes au]
request: When does Blake meet Nicos family?
summary: the two times blake met nico's family, and the time she becomes apart of it.
word count: 0.9k
Tumblr media
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ── family skate - secretly dating
"i'm going to go say hello to nico's family," blake announces, waving her parents off as she slowly glides over to nico and his family. she toys with the silver zipper on her jacket nervously before gaining the courage to bring attention to herself.
before she gets the chance to say anything, nico notices her presence from behind the group and easily pulls her into conversation. "guys, this is blake" he says, lightly grabbing the sleeve of her jacket and pulling her forward.
blakes cheeks heat up as the family turns to her. "hello! i'm jack's sister," she explains nervously as she subconsciously leans closer to nico.
"so you're the girl we've heard so much about," his dad exclaims. he reaches his hand out and blake eagerly shakes his hand.
"good things only" nico clarifies lightly as he slings an arm around blakes waist. he drops his arm a second later - realizing his mistake. it felt wrong to pretend they weren't actually dating, especially in front of his family - but nico knew that blake didnt want to cause any issues with her family this weekend.
"i'd hope so," blake teases lightly. "i'm nothing but nice to you,"
nico rolls his eyes playfully and his family cant help but notice how comfortable the couple is in each others presence. they each had a soft look in their eyes when they glanced or stared at each other... it reminded nico's parents of when they first started dating.
"they seem to be close," nico's mom whispers to her husband when blake skates back to her family.
"very," his dad hums, noticing how nico's eyes would wander to blake's figure every few minutes. he seemed drawn to her - as if going five minutes without looking for her was too much to bear. "good for them,"
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ── end of season - dating
"i called it," nicos brother teases as he slings an arm around nicos shoulder. "you guys weren't subtle,"
"what do you mean?" blake laughs, hugging nicos sister in a quick greeting.
his sister pauses, "you guys had a look at the family skate"
"no?" nico jumps in, convinced him and blake were being secretive.
"oh yes you two did," his mom laughs, pulling blake into a side hug. "the honeymoon phase look," she adds, patting blake on the back. "nico couldn't go one minute without looking for you in the crowd,"
a faint blush tinges blakes cheeks, "seriously?" she asks, looking towards nico with a huge smile gracing her face.
nico smiles sheepishly, "you're so peaceful when you skate,"
instead of replying blake intertwines her fingers with nico's and leans into his side.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ── surprising nico in switzerland - dating
for the past two months blake was in talks with nicos parents and sister to plan a surprise visit. the couple had gone a few months without seeing each other as blake had work commitments and nico was deep into his off-season training. it was hard, but the couple had learned how to navigate a long distance relationship effectively. it never made it easier, which is why blake decided to surprise nico with a visit as soon as her modelling contracts finished shooting.
"hallo sweetie," his mom speaks quietly as she gestures for her husband to grab blakes bags. "you must be tired," she says, bringing blake into a comforting hug.
"a little," blake breathes out in relief, glad to finally be done travelling. "but it's so nice to finally see you guys,"
"its good to see you too," nico's dad affirms, patting blake on the back before carrying her bags to the car. "nico's going to be so excited,"
"i can't wait to see him! it's going to be hard waiting till the morning,"
⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ ࣪
in the morning, blake gets ready for the day as soon as nico leaves the house to go to the gym.
when he gets back to the house two hours later, the plans begin.
"nico, i think a package for you came. it should be in the entryway," his mother says nonchalantly.
"i didn't order anything," nico says cluelessly.
"i think its from the devils," his mom responds, thinking quickly.
nico takes her word for it and shuffles out of the living room to collect his package. however, when he gets to the entrance way he stops immediately in his tracks.
"blake?" he questions, eyes wide as he takes in the sight of his girlfriend. blake smiles brightly at him, and as soon as nico realizes shes actually in front of him he jumps forward and pulls her into a tight hug.
blake immediately reciprocates and draws her arms around nico. he lifts her up with a well-practiced ease and she wraps her legs around his waist. "when did you get here?" he asks excitedly. before she even gets a chance to respond hes kissing her softly.
"last night," blake explains between kisses. "missed you too much,"
"i'm so," nico sets her down and trails kisses down her neck, "glad you're here,"
⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ ࣪
later that evening when things settle down nico's mom pulls nico aside. "i'm happy you have blake," she says simply. "you guys are so good for each other,"
"thank you," nico says, smiling softly as his eyes trail over to where blake sits with the rest of his family. "she means a lot to me. i'm glad you guys like her,"
"she fits right in here," his mom notes as her eyes follow nico's gaze.

Denki Kaminari
Bora Bora
This boy knew nothing about it until he heard Yaoyorozu talk about a trip her family had taken there years ago
At first, the idea of you in a swimsuit was what drove him to suggest it, but when you made research and planning his responsibility. He fell into awe of the beauty of the place, the lure of the food and serene waters made him see how soon was too soon to book a trip there
Does a deep dive into things to do in the area for safe, nonscary excursions (no swimming with sharks, but the swimming with pigs looked fun) and overbooks you both slightly at first
Absolutely booked the best house on the water at a resort he could find that also offered couples spa packages so you both could get a little pampered before throwing on your hottest swim attire
Eijiro Kirishima
Hokkaido in winter
Kirishima wants to do something MANLY, but also have quality bonding time together with something you’d also enjoy
So he booked the hotel at the hot springs near the ski resort in Hokkaido, so he could teach you how to snowboard
Does all his research of course because it has been years since he himself was a beginner snowboarder, but would take his sweet time to teach you
The bonus of this trip is the hot spring you both can relax in together and watch it snow after a long day on the trails and end it snuggled inside together
Would book Switzerland for your next ski adventure
Kyoka Jiro
Los Angeles
Originally had thought Vegas might be cool, then read articles on how much of a tourist trap it is, and didn’t really want to be around so many drunk people during her downtime
She took her time and started from scratch looking at places throughout North America that you both might enjoy with all your hobbies and landed on Los Angeles
Plans out a week to see all sorts of music venues, and get you both in to see one of your favorite music groups for a concert, this might delay the trip a few months in order to get that time frame perfect but the whole night let alone whole trip was worth the wait
Other days are filled with trying new food, going to Disney, or relaxing at the hotel pool with you
Shoto Todoroki
Paris
When you talked to him about going on a vacation overseas together being romantic he was already pulling his phone out to call for Endeavors private airplane
Upon your panic and discussing how normal people plan trips (thank you Midoriya and Ochako, Tenya tried to help but also needed his rich boy bubble popped a bit) he spends a fortnight planning the most romantic and cliche cheesy Paris trip ever
His sister thankfully bought and packed a bag of everything you’d need because he only said to take the week off and not make plans (The talk helped 50% he’s still working on normal people life)
From the Eiffel Tower overlooking the city as fireworks go off, to a cheese tour, to see the Mona Lisa he does it all and pays for a busboy to bring champagne and flowers every morning so he can wake you up to those gifts of romance he feels you deserve

Diamonds are a boy's best friend
(In which Daniel and Armand break into a billionaire's mansion, eat him, set some art on fire, and proceed to Have A Good Time TM)
-
Daniel gets word of a painting featuring Armand squirrelled away in some Swiss billionaire’s mansion, and Armand has been in the mood for mountains lately, so they go.
It’s a thing Daniel does now, in between their travels around the world: tracking down Armand pieces and liberating them, giving Armand back the agency over who sees his body, looks at his past. Armand gets to decide what happens to each piece; some he allows to remain, others he destroys. Weirdly, it’s probably even more cathartic for Daniel than Armand himself. Call it overcompensating for not being able to go back in time and play knight in shining armour or whatever other bullshit Daniel’s egotistical subconscious probably fancies.
So Switzerland it is.
They start with a couple weeks to take in the sights — won’t be wise to hang around in the country after they eat a resident billionaire.
It’s winter, so the nights are long. They walk around picturesque little towns full of twinkling lights nestled in mountain valleys; Armand gives Daniel an art tour of Zurich; Daniel drags Armand hiking (they negotiate and settle on two trips instead of five, and joke’s on Armand, because Daniel fully went into this with the intention of only doing two); they spend a night hanging around a ski resort, sipping on tourists with grappa and Toblerone chocolate sloshing about in their veins.
Daniel also makes Armand pose for a thousand selfies and other pictures. He doesn’t have social media any more, because he’s pretending to be dead of old age, but he sends one or two to Louis and Lestat.
Finally, the day comes, and they rent a car to drive up to the billionaire’s Alpine mansion — Armand behind the wheel, Daniel browsing the file he’s compiled on their mark.
“This guy’s the total package, babe,” Daniel says, flipping through the pages.
“Hmm?”
“Yeah, right up our alley. Grandad ran a Swiss bank during World War Two, the whole neutrality thing, you know…”
Armand hums, and Daniel decides to assume he does know. Armand’s knowledge of recent-ish historical events is an insane ping-pong match between knowing everything and knowing nothing — couple years ago, he asked Daniel, with a completely straight face, who was this Archduke Ferdinand Daniel was speaking about.
“Yeah, so we’ve got blood money already. Daddy inherited the bank… business ties to mystery people in Argentina, because of-fucking-course…”
“Put your seatbelt on, beloved.”
“I’m already dead and there’s no cops on this road. Anyway, then our guy inherits his share of the bank, proceeds to invest in real estate and art as a tax dodge—”
“Seatbelt, Daniel. You may already be dead, but if you fly through the windscreen on impact, you will most certainly not have a good time.”
“Oh, my god, fine. There. See? Happy?”
“Ecstatic.”

Rest in peace, Gary Wright. Sincere condolences to his loved ones.
“His brown eyes were penetrating yet peaceful, and he immediately disarmed my nervousness with his gentleness. Meeting someone of his stature was challenging for me at first.I had really never met anyone quite like George before; he did’t seem to be on some huge ego trip like other artists I had met over the years. His aura was calm, and his being exuded a subtle spiritual magnetism. Yet, at the same time, he was someone who was very focused in the here and now. As he shook my hand and graciously introduced himself to me, all the initial apprehensiveness I had been feeling suddenly vanished. I felt in my heart that I was meeting an old friend that I hadn’t seen in years — or maybe lifetimes.” - Gary Wright (on first meeting George during the All Things Must Pass sessions), Dream Weaver: Music, Meditation, And My Friendship With George Harrison (2014) “[In 1971, George] said, ‘I’m booked to do The Dick Caveat Show in a couple of weeks in New York. You can perform “Two Faced Man” together with your band if you like, and I’ll play slide guitar.’ […] I was pretty overwhelmed by his kindness in wanting to help me." - ibid "My guru often said, ‘To be fit for Self-Realization, man must be fearless.’ George was always fearless, and he manifested this quality right up to the end of his life. His wife Olivia’s strength, patience, and loving attention to him was deeply inspiring as we all sat down for dinner together — our last supper. After the meal, he showed us recently taken videos of his garden back in England, pointing out the changes he had made since I last was there.” - ibid In December 1976, the Journal Herald reported that George planned “a tour with a package that includes his friend, rock singer Gary Wright, as well as members of the hilarious British Monty Python troupe. The concerts will be multi-media events that will feature the music of Harrison and Wright, and the skits, films and songs of the Pythons.” - Journal Herald, December 16, 1976 Over the years, these two friends co-wrote songs (“If You Believe,” “That’s What It Takes,” and “To Discover Yourself"), and spent vacations together (such as crossing the Atlantic on the QE2; Switzerland in 1973; Portugal in 1973, with more about that vacation here; India in early 1974; and Sweden in 1976. Whether you're an adventure enthusiast looking for trekking options or a nature lover wanting to relax amidst majestic landscapes, a Chopta tour package can provide the perfect getaway. In this blog, we will explore everything from the best Chopta tour packages to Chopta Uttarakhand, the famous Chopta Tungnath Trek, and the picturesque Chopta Valley.
Tumblr media
Why Choose Chopta for Your Next Trip?
Chopta, located at an elevation of approximately 2,680 meters, is a hidden gem that offers mesmerizing views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks such as Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba. Its tranquil atmosphere, coupled with its relatively unexplored status, makes it a fantastic destination for tourists looking to escape the hustle and bustle of crowded hill stations.
A Chopta tour package typically includes stays in eco-friendly resorts or camps, guided treks, sightseeing tours, and meals, offering a complete and hassle-free travel experience. Let’s dive into the highlights of what makes Chopta such a sought-after destination.
Tumblr media
One of the biggest draws of Chopta is its scenic beauty. Surrounded by dense forests of pine, deodar, and rhododendron, Chopta offers spectacular panoramic views of snow-clad peaks such as Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba. Whether you visit in the lush greenery of summer or the snowy wonderland of winter, the natural beauty of Chopta is stunning throughout the year.
Chopta also serves as a base for some of the most popular treks in the region, including the famous Chopta Tungnath Trek. Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world, and trekking to this sacred site offers both adventure and spiritual fulfillment. For those seeking more, the trek continues up to Chandrashila Peak, providing one of the most mesmerizing 360-degree views of the Himalayas.
In addition to trekking, Chopta offers opportunities for birdwatching, camping, and exploring nearby attractions such as Deoria Tal and Ukhimath. It’s part of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts.
Unlike more crowded tourist destinations, Chopta retains its offbeat charm, allowing visitors to experience the true essence of the Himalayas in peace. Its combination of adventure, nature, and spirituality makes it a must-visit destination for your next trip. A Chopta tour package ensures that you can explore this hidden gem without hassle, making your journey comfortable and memorable.
Tumblr media
1. Chopta Uttarakhand: A Paradise for Nature Lovers
If you're seeking an offbeat travel destination in Uttarakhand, Chopta should be at the top of your list. Unlike other popular tourist destinations in the region, Chopta remains relatively less crowded, preserving its natural beauty. Located in the Rudraprayag district, Chopta Uttarakhand serves as the base camp for several treks and is renowned for its vibrant flora and fauna.
The region is part of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, and it's not uncommon to spot rare species of birds, musk deer, and other wildlife here. For birdwatchers, Chopta offers an excellent opportunity to observe a variety of Himalayan birds, including the Himalayan Monal, which is the state bird of Uttarakhand.
When you book a Chopta tour package, make sure it includes visits to nearby attractions such as Deoria Tal, a beautiful high-altitude lake surrounded by dense forests, and the Ukhimath temple, a winter abode of Lord Kedarnath.
2. Chopta Tungnath Trek: The Ultimate Adventure Experience
One of the most famous treks in the Chopta region is the Chopta Tungnath Trek. Tungnath is one of the highest Shiva temples in the world, located at an altitude of 3,680 meters. The trek to Tungnath is moderate in difficulty and takes around 4-5 hours from Chopta. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced trekker, this trail offers a perfect mix of adventure and spiritual fulfillment.
Tumblr media
The Chopta Tungnath Trek begins with a gentle climb through dense forests of oak, deodar, and rhododendron, gradually opening up to expansive views of the surrounding peaks. Along the way, trekkers are treated to panoramic vistas of the Himalayan ranges, green meadows, and cascading waterfalls.
What makes this trek even more exciting is that from Tungnath, you can continue to Chandrashila Peak, which stands at 4,000 meters. The additional trek to Chandrashila rewards trekkers with a 360-degree view of some of the most iconic Himalayan ranges, including Nanda Devi, Kedarnath, and Trishul.
3. Exploring the Scenic Beauty of Chopta Valley
The picturesque Chopta Valley is a treasure trove for photographers and nature lovers alike. The valley is covered with a thick layer of lush meadows, and during the spring season, it becomes a colorful paradise due to blooming rhododendron flowers. Surrounded by dense forests and towering Himalayan peaks, Chopta Valley is an ideal spot for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Tumblr media
In winters, the valley transforms into a snow-laden wonderland, making it a popular destination for snow trekking and camping. Whether you're hiking through the valley, camping under the stars, or simply sitting by a campfire soaking in the views, Chopta Valley promises an unforgettable experience.
Most Chopta tour packages offer camping options in this valley, allowing you to experience the raw beauty of nature up close. Many packages also include outdoor activities such as rock climbing, rappelling, and bird watching, making it a great spot for adventure lovers.
Best Time to Visit Chopta
Chopta is an all-season destination, but the best time to visit depends on what you want to experience. If you’re a fan of winter treks and snow-covered landscapes, then visit between December and February. For trekking enthusiasts and nature lovers, the months from March to May are ideal, as the weather is pleasant, and the rhododendron forests are in full bloom.
Tumblr media
Monsoons (July to September) bring out the lush greenery of Chopta, but landslides and roadblocks can make travel difficult. From October to November, the post-monsoon period offers clear skies and stunning views of the snow-clad peaks, making it a great time for sightseeing and photography.

2. Chandrashila Peak
After visiting Tungnath, trekkers can continue their journey to Chandrashila Peak, situated at a height of 4,000 meters. The additional 1.5 km trek from Tungnath to Chandrashila is slightly steeper but rewards adventurers with one of the most spectacular 360-degree views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi, Kedarnath, Trishul, and Chaukhamba.
Tumblr media

During the summer and spring seasons, the meadows come alive with blooming rhododendrons and other alpine flowers, creating a vibrant carpet of colors.
Tumblr media

ARTICLE: Meet America's Next F1 Hope, Logan Sargeant (Autoweek, 2020)
Tumblr media
source: matt weaver, autoweek.com published: february 1st, 2020 series: f3, 2020
He doesn’t view himself as anything more than a racer trying to win races and championships, but Logan Sargeant inherently represents more than himself, as he is also the current best chance the United States has to return an American full time to the Formula 1 grid.
For American racing enthusiasts, the Sargeant name might sound familiar, as the 19-year-old is the younger brother of former NASCAR prospect Dalton Sargeant, who spent several seasons in the ARCA and Truck Series system.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the youngest racing Sargeant has done nothing but win since moving to Switzerland as a 12-year-old to chase a career at the highest level of international motorsports. Sargeant won the Karting Federation Junior championship in 2015, becoming the first American to win an FIA karting championship since 1978, when Lake Speed earned the honors.
He has victories in the F4 British Championship and Formula Renault.
Sargeant suffered his first significant career setback in 2019, finishing 19th in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship with Carlin, with just one podium, albeit in the nonpoints prestigious Macau Grand Prix.
There were valid reasons for the adversity, of course, as 2019 was the first season with a new chassis and rules package that allowed for adjustable downforce during practice but one fixed amount during a race.
Tumblr media
With three first-year Formula 3 drivers on its roster, Carlin struggled to develop the chassis, and each of them finished outside of the top 15 in the standings.
It was uncharacteristic of Sargeant, who had adapted to everything he had driven up to that point, which makes 2020 all the more interesting as it comes with a return tour of Formula 3, albeit with a change to the championship-winning Prema Racing Team organization.
If Sargeant simply repeats what the three Prema drivers accomplished last year, sweeping the championship’s podium, an American will likely be one step below the highest level of international motorsports in 2021 for the first time since Alexander Rossi made five Formula 1 starts with Marussia.
Tumblr media
Get to know Sargeant—an avid fisherman who enjoys returning to his Boca Raton, Florida, home as much as he is able—in this Autoweek exclusive below.
Autoweek: Let's start on the performance side—what went wrong in 2019?
Logan Sargeant: In hindsight, Carlin has had a lot of success over the years, but we really struggled with the new car. We had three rookies on the same team, inexperienced drivers who couldn't lead us in the right direction. A tenth or two makes such a difference. I understand the situation. I'm not saying I wasn't responsible to a degree either. I wasn't satisfied with myself. I have an obligation to help develop the car as much as possible, and we just couldn't figure it out for most of the year.
AW: Do you view last year as a setback or are you still on schedule?
LS: To be perfectly honest with you, I actually feel like we're still ahead of schedule. I just turned 19. We did really well in Formula Renault and made the jump to Formula 3 and now I'm in a really good spot to be with the team (Prema) that won the championship last year.
Tumblr media
AW: What's it like to be an American in the F1 ladder system?
LS: I moved to Switzerland when I was 12 and went to a school for Americans so I got used to everything from an early age. Then I moved to London. When you move at such an early age, it's shocking how different everything is, but it's easier to adjust to, as well. I try to go home at least twice a year for a couple of weeks, so that helps. As for the racing side, there is so much quality racing back home between NASCAR, IndyCar and IMSA, and that's the only reason there aren't more of us trying. There is a really good racing culture in the States, so that's the only reason we don't see it more often.
AW: I understand you have a dog back home—how tough is it to have to leave a beloved pet when you return to London? The same thing with friends and family?
LS: It's really tough, especially when you're really attached to a pet, like a dog or cat. She used to live with us in Switzerland, but we had to take her back home because she was getting older. It's the same with your friends, right? I have friends in Europe, but they're all my racing friends. They're really nice to have, but you miss your friends you have back home. It's part of the sacrifice you make to do this.
Tumblr media
AW: On that note, you've been in Europe now for almost a decade—does it feel like home when you come back from Florida?
LS: Oh, no. Florida is home. I really enjoy it in London. I came early so I've adjusted, but you only have one home.
AW: Do you allow yourself to entertain racing in the States or do you commit everything to what you're doing now?
LS: I'm fully committed to Formula 1, but I wouldn't have a problem if I ended up with the opportunity to race in IndyCar someday. That would be really exciting. I really enjoy sports car racing, too. It would be really cool to hop into a LMP2 or something one day. I want to race and I'll race anything.
AW: How much American racing are you able to keep up with?
LS: I watch as much racing as I can, period. It's tougher to watch certain races here because of the time difference, but I watch nothing but racing. That's the sport I'm in so I'm studying everything.
AW: Is this a championship-or-bust season for you?
LS: I'd say, to be honest, that I'm aiming for the championship. The goal is to win races and compete for the championship. Last year was tough because I'm so used to being at the front of the team. I'm aware of what Prema did last year. That's what I hope to accomplish, too.
