My months of rest and relaxation // day 72

Today was super chill, I listened to the witcher audiobook a lot while doing other things like crocheting and chopping veggies. The narration in the fourth novel is slow af so I am really thankful to the audiobook or I would be stuck forever.

Productivity:

practiced Irish on duolingo

finished my crochet sweatervest and I am so happy with how it turned out!! The size fits perfectly and now I am left with figuring out what my next project will be

updated my reading journal

worked on some posts

sterted to reorganize my pinterest a little bit because it was a mess

looked for hair inspo cause I absolutely need to get my haircut fixed cause it has no sense anymore

chopped a bunch of veggies for dinner

read first thing in the morning

started using a mood tracking app since I have no been using trackers on my bujo in a while. I have no idea if this will work out for me cause digital stuff is not my thing but I am trying

Latin classes, essay writing, night outs and student protests 🤎 a good week and a new knit sweater on my needles to top it off (unfortunately I woke up sick today so it was a slow day though I finished and sent an essay)

Finally blocking aaaaaah.

This is a kind of repeat of a scarf I made my mom several Christmases ago. A TON of sock yarn with a modified dragon scale scarf pattern. My mom’s ended up being over 10 ft long (!!!!) because I did not know when to stop. This one is a little over 8 ft. It is for my mom’s friend, at my mom’s request.

No more scarves made from sock weight yarn. At least not for a long time.

happy february everyone!! life has been good lately, though incredibly busy. the workload this semester is so intense i feel like i’m always just working towards the next exam, but i’ve made time to spend with friends, and i’m trying my best to find a balance between productivity and fun! (p.s. i gave a hoof trim to these goats this morning)

Winter is a very sluggish time for these three. They're fighting hard against whatever funky DNA is telling them to hibernate. Even harder against the urge to eat everything in the fridge and laze around.

I've been messing around with Fair Isle the last few days, and practicing holding one yarn in my left hand while I do it. That part fuckin sucks, though I guess I'm getting better at it. Still can't get my fingers to maintain tension for more than a few stitches.

I made myself quit at this point, bc I doubt I'll get much better w/o doing a 'real' project, and at some point I'm just wasting yarn. Some of these color combos are more effective than others, and it was definitely fun (& good practice) to get to play around with colors like this.
