i have officially cast on the step by step sweater by handmade by florence.

this is not the first sweater i have ever cast on however i am hoping it will be the first adult sized sweater i finish! (i have made baby sweaters and dog sweaters but never completed an adult sized sweater)

Here’s some progress on my sweater! It’s my first colorwork sweater, and I’m using the Strange Brew pattern by Tim Can Knits. I ran out of yarn and it’s on back order, so I can’t work on it much more unfortunately.

I used to not understand the hype around this pattern, but now that I’ve knit one I love it! It knits up so quickly and is easily customizable.

WIP Wednesday

There's still an hour left of Wednesday, and I've finished the body of my Cascading Kittens sweater! I'm going to follow the pattern and do short sleeves, so we're in the home stretch!

It’s been a minute.

I moved about a year ago and I haven’t posted any of my knits since then, but the knitting has not stopped! At some point I’ll go through my closet and log all the stuff here and on ravelry.

Anyway, I had no pattern for this and I have affectionately dubbed it my “Electric Cotton Candy Cardigan”

Today we say goodbye to my Little Scorpion sweater yoke I’ve been working on for a few months on and off.

I cast it on when I started moving in with my now husband and finally unpacked the rest of my yarn, only to find out I greatly misremembered how many skeins I had for the body and sleeves (2 out of the 5 I thought I had, don’t ask I just don’t know) so it’s getting frogged. I spent 3 hours unraveling and detangling the yarn from this.

Tears were shed.

I did cast on the second sock to round out a pair of vanilla socks I started in 2023, which I suppose is a victory?

Don’t have that blue so no subtle color work in this one.

Started this while I was sad about the dye lots for my current sweater lying to me. I like it!!! the yarn is super luxurious, it’ll be perfect for summer. I messed up the neck I know that. Following the pattern it ended up WAY small like 12”… I prefer my necklines at least 18” but more like 22”. I’m worried about this honestly, that I needed to be knitting a size up. I suppose I should try it on at some point. But if I have to redo all of this colorwork, I might just die instead. I also could NOT do the cast on the pattern suggested. I kept messing it up and working it hurt my hand joints. It was… not a great start at all.

Here’s a sweater I’ve knitted recently! The pattern is called the Nevermore sweater by Maxim Cyr.

Finished knitting the fine line sweater. Love how it turned out. Didn’t make any changes to the pattern, which is pretty uncommon for me.

Blocking did have a huge impact on how nice this sweater looks, especially the sleeves improved a lot after blocking. Keep that in mind if you want to knit this sweater / a similar one!
