Thank you so much!
The pattern is Old Town by Carol Sunday … with modifications made by me. I’ve made this sweater three times now with modifications each time - I love the base pattern so much. It fits me perfectly!
I put notes about the modifications on my ravelry page - Purplbear ravelry. The main changes I made were cables for cardigan edging, textured body instead of stockinette and ombré color changes instead of solid color. It definitely added to the amount of math I needed to do 🤣🤣
Just the ribbing left on the body and then do the sleeves.
And yes, some of those wispy things are my hair - don’t commit crimes while wearing my knitwear. It has my dna attached.

WIP Wednesday
There's still an hour left of Wednesday, and I've finished the body of my Cascading Kittens sweater! I'm going to follow the pattern and do short sleeves, so we're in the home stretch!
#wip wedensday#knitting#sweater knitting#my goal was to finish this by thanksgiving and I think I shall!

It’s been a minute.
I moved about a year ago and I haven’t posted any of my knits since then, but the knitting has not stopped! At some point I’ll go through my closet and log all the stuff here and on ravelry.
Anyway, I had no pattern for this and I have affectionately dubbed it my “Electric Cotton Candy Cardigan”
Ravelry Project
Watchlist for this project: Miss Night and Day, Castaway Diva, Doctor Slump, and The Bear.

Started this while I was sad about the dye lots for my current sweater lying to me. I like it!!! the yarn is super luxurious, it’ll be perfect for summer. I messed up the neck I know that. Following the pattern it ended up WAY small like 12”… I prefer my necklines at least 18” but more like 22”. I’m worried about this honestly, that I needed to be knitting a size up. I suppose I should try it on at some point. But if I have to redo all of this colorwork, I might just die instead. I also could NOT do the cast on the pattern suggested. I kept messing it up and working it hurt my hand joints. It was… not a great start at all.
Pattern: Annabelle Crop
Yarn: KnitPicks Samia in Moonflower, Abalone, and Taro (silk/cupro blend)

Finished knitting the fine line sweater. Love how it turned out. Didn’t make any changes to the pattern, which is pretty uncommon for me.
Blocking did have a huge impact on how nice this sweater looks, especially the sleeves improved a lot after blocking. Keep that in mind if you want to knit this sweater / a similar one!

My library got the knitting book I want to read!
Libby has a feature where you can ask it to notify you when your library acquires a book. Since this book came out in 2012, I wasn't very hopeful, but today it came in! I borrowed it immediately. (In the past this has only worked when I tag a book that hasn't been published yet, e.g. last year for the new Murderbot book.)

Hello. I have a newbie knitter question to ask.
I was hoping if you know how many yarns a person might need to knit an oversized sweater?
The yarn is called a Fine Yarn (I think it means a thin yarn?)
The pattern I downloaded from Raverly didn't specify how much I might need.
Thank you 🫶🏻
I am not a sweater knitter... Throwing it out to my friends on here. How much you'll need really depends on your size, your desired sweater size, your gauge.... Maybe check the other projects on Rav and see if any of them look like your size and how much yarn they used?

Very excited that my WIP is now a reasonable size to try on and looks like it's going to be perfect!!
Fiber: The Wandering Flock Baby Paca (50% Merino, 30% Alpaca, 20% Nylon) in limited edition colorway "Summer Tie Dye"
Needles: Knitpicks Mosaic Options Interchangeable Needles in Size 7
Pattern: Jessie Maed Design's Cozy Classic Raglan, Size 3X, with significant modifications.
I'm holding the Baby Paca (a light sport weight yarn) double to achieve a heavy DK / light Worsted weight sweater, and am planning to do bishop sleeves with a sweatshirt-style blouson fit and a wide cinched waistband. I'll do this color, Summer Tie Dye, to the upper bust, then do some striping, and then finish with the same yarn in the Neon Pink colorway.
I recently discovered the Portuguese style of knitting and it's really helping with my hand / wrist pain. If you're interested in trying the style, I recommend Very Pink Knits' youtube series on it, linked here.
Links are just for those interested; I don't make any money off of them. :)

Does anyone have suggestions for sweater patterns? I want to knit a sweater, but there’s too many choices. I’m thinking about doing something with colorwork.

not a great picture but I am excited for this project!!! It’s the Rattlesnake Sweater by Jamie Hoffman and I am LOVING my color choices! I was inspired by desert sunset vibes. There’s going to be cacti too. I’ve had this planned since the very beginning of the year- I even did a sketch for it:
I'm using knitpicks Swish (amethyst heather), Wool of the Andes (palomo and caution), and Hawthorn (jupiter speckle).
I got SO excited when I saw the colors that I forgot to check if they were superwash or not and turns out two are and two aren't 😭 I did a gauge swatch of a superwash and not-superwash to see if it would stretch bad in colorwork, but those were different yarn lines. So I am anxious about it :S I plan on never machine washing (or drying) this, so I'm really really really hoping it doesn't distort. Knitpicks didn't have other colors I was going for in the other superwash lines so I had to knit with the yarn I had or have it not match my vision. Eep.
—————————
I ended up having to frog the colorwork and redo it ): the one spot was too tight and it wasn’t going to block out. I had to size up a needle just for those few rows, which is something I don’t usually do?
