Finally finished and blocked these cute socks!
It was a fun experiment with color dominance in colorwork knitting and gave me a really thick, soft, cushiony fabric. They’re super comfy and almost more like slipper-socks.
Pattern: Call Them Cherry Blossoms by Tiina Kuu
Yarn: knitpicks palette and knitpicks stroll glimmer (discontinued)

Tumblr media
I'm using this pattern (but foregoing the nupps because I know I'm cutting it real close on how much yarn I have)

to the knitters of tumblr...
I got a rly cool sweater (hand-me-down from a friend, store bought) and I really love the texture.
I was wondering if any of you might know how to achieve it what it's called?
i don't really knit but I'm interested to know how it's made
Tumblr media
this is the front
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and this is the back.
it's pretty thick, as if it's two layers of knitwear stuck together.
if anyone has a name of the texture so I can look it up or even a tutorial, I'd be very grateful if you told me! ^^

gay ass socks (part 4)
hello hello! someone reblogged my last post about these socks earlier and it reminded me to post an update! (thank you to anyone who reads these by the way i appreciate it!!!)
Tumblr media
happy to say that the calf increases worked out very well! my measurements were right on, and the stripes are looking a lot better this time around. i'm also past the point i was at before frogging, it's nice to keep making progress now!
you can't see in this photo but the yarn is just starting to transition from this coral-y shade into the true pink, it'll probably be obvious within the next few stripes! i'm gonna keep going with these until they're over my knee before i start the brioche tops, and that'll probably take a little while, but they're getting there!
not sure yet if i want to decrease back down under the knee, but i'll keep them as they are for now. as long as they're not too loose they should be ok
thanks for reading!

crochet is very modular, each time builds upon the past, each row builds upon each other. Knitting is very intertwined, it’s hard to tell where it ends and begins

3rd knitting project, first "real" garment!
This is Maker Maker’s See My Vest pattern in Gepard’s upcycling Puno yarn. This pattern is easy enough to follow, and it taught me basics about garment construction.
The weather here in Paris is a wee bit warm for a knitted vest now lol, but I'm still excited to wear it!

pros of working on a scale for babies: takes less time (quicker gratification yay), making a mistake is easy to undo b/c there are so few stitches
cons: constantly thinking "this is for a baby. babies dont wear socks. what the hell am i doing" and continuing to knit these little socks because im committed to finishing this
