i am knitting the Celtic Heart Cable knit scarf btw! i needed a beginer-friendly project to start my cable knitting journey and this one was just too stinking cute

I finished the back panel of my Nightingale sweater and I am obsessed. I keep looking over to see it drying on the floor like holy shit I did that

quantity over quality is the key when starting a new craft/hobby/whatever

It took me thousands of stitches to figure out the best way to knit, to purl, to tension my yarn. I tried English and continental. Circular and straight needles.

All the advice and videos and tips in the world won’t replace actually doing the thing. Over and over. And ripping it all up and starting over.

I locked in today and finished the first sleeve of the project that has taken me all winter

Probably no one is interested in this but like,, it’s knitting season and I already started off strong:

Behold, the sugarplum pullover using langyarn’s orion in blue/green.

I need to buy one more skein and then I’ll be able to finish it. I’ll post the result too.

I've made a site where you can make your own

I learned to knit a while ago specifically to make cool braid patterns with cable knitting and I'm also a web developer

So I made this

You can make a braid and it will create a cable knitting pattern out of it

It starts with this here, you can change the size with the inputs above and when you hover over crossings you can click and it will change how it crosses (right over left, left over right, or parallel)

Every time you do it updates this pattern down here that you can follow to knit that braid

There are notes and abbreviations listed on the site for the specifics
