#dawntrail spoilers #ffxiv #miqomarch #miqomarch2025 #g'raha tia #arsay nun #wolgraha #dawntrail #ffxiv spoilers #oof this was a doozy to write and pose but i got through it 😭#i was going to expand on the bird metaphor initially but then I remembered that Arsay doesnt really do that. she just says shit #so you the viewer gets to decide what she means #I feel like its been a while since I've shown Arsay lifting her partner up in a conversation #shes been real baby since endwalker so its usually her who needed the support #im glad DT gave me a moment for Arsay to show her inspiring side now that shes gone through endwalker character development #were it any other character she would have said nothing tbh These are feelings she could only reveal to raha and shtola #so many people have done amazing takes on this scene and their wols replies i really hope this doesnt come off as reductive #or accidentally copying someone else #this part really hit me when I was playing because of irl reasons but even still i knew in the moment arsay would fight grahas doubt #because she believes so much in him and his kind soul. And shes seen it in action too. she sees a distinction between his actions-#- and that of others who claimed to do things for the good of their people #tbh arsay does kinda fall into the camp of 'would rather die than have to mourn another loved one' at this point #but if it came down to it I dont think shed be able to do anything but keep living- shes stronger than she believes herself to be

i held this opinion in dsmp as well, but i think you can disagree with characters, but in their chat, you should be 100% supportive or just stay quiet...it just drags the energy down on the streamer if you’re disagreeing with everything theyre doing in rp

#big thing that i remember was whenever niki and jack tried to do ANYTHING #and the chat was full of tommy viewers discouraging them #when it was a villain arc they were rly excited to do!#like you gotta be supportive or the streamer will get exhausted doing the rp #its akin to backseat gaming #discourse

I don't talk about YouTubers super often, but the recent Style Theory video on James Charles encompasses pretty much everything that skeeves me out about MatPat.

The lampshading. Acting as if face paint in modern makeup is this rare/new thing. Making and monetizing a video that might as well be an ad for a child predator's makeup company. Directly associating sex workers and drag queens with said very famous gay child predator, in the middle of a political climate trying to claim all queer people are groomers and pedophiles.

The entire video is in very poor taste, and it's not the first time the Theorist team has published something disrespectful to the queer community.

I’m somehow even more annoyed at how angry people were at them.#like…the entitlement?? the backlash was SO parasocial #it was like people’s best friends had personally betrayed them instead of people making a questionable business decision #and I still keep seeing people calling them rich.#the difference between rich and can pay $6 a month is so so so wide #they live in LA where that’s basically the price of a box of cereal #not everyone can afford $6 per month BUT it is not a sign you’re rich to think that’s relatively reasonable #and the way people are condemning the way they run their business as if that’s some CRIME and an AFFRONT to viewers #everyone is anti-capitalist till they are angry and then they’re like oh just downsize and do austerity and be a Good Business #what happened to having sympathy for artists who are like.#not businesspeople #and made a questionable business call #people don’t actually owe you art for free!!#even if you’ve supported them before! they don’t owe you forever #and they are not betraying people by wanting to make more expensive work. you can decide not to support that but it’s not an EVIL BETRAYAL #ppl want them to be a perfect business except they also want them to only ever do what their fans want and those aren’t even compatible

the book thief & house of ember, which were both books i chose from a predetermined list. the book thief is in my top ten books of all time

i also adore all of the characters in tlt from a technical standpoint. muir writes characters incredibly and i'm forever in awe of them. some of the most 3D characters i've ever come across in a book series!

not a lot. i use to hate reviews tbh. there's a huge pretentiousness problem in book spaces and i used to think reviews were just encouraging that. more recently i've been leaving positive reviews on books i've liked on my storygraph because i like the idea of the author reading them :) storygraph also has that cool thing with their tagging system where they have readers assign moods to the books they read--i really like that!

#picked up 76 to round out the end of the season and oh my god base building has me by the brainstem #the worst part i think is that theres no way for me to show a non-player what i do without it losing a degree of its impressiveness #like dgmw objectively my builds look nice and a viewer would be like [wow! that looks great]#but they would lack the necessary knowledge to know why its great beyond the aesthetic sense like.#the insane fuckin exploits i have to pull off in order to make shit look good #for anyone still reading this: my favorite technique for punching up an area is merging and merging;#there's certain terrain features and items in game that #when under specific conditions #allow you to merge two objects together. but it gets more complex: some objects require support.#so you have to sandwich in either a conduit or a floor mat.#but then it gets more complex: even if you merge objects together; the architecture of your structure may prohibit placing it.#so you pull out a flame thrower trap. intentionally break the architecture (only possible across some varieties of wall and floor btw)#at a penalty. and then you place your shit. and then you repair it. and then: most vitally of all: you do not fuck with it.#a misclick can undo hours of work #AND FOR WHAT: BTW: I ENJOY THE PROCESS BUT OBJECTIVELY THERE ARE BETTER WAYS I COULD SPEND MY TIME!!!!!#anyway once i finish this latest build i think ill do a walkthrough of it or smthn to post here. im very happy with it =:]#daily h

so like last week i stumbled across this guy on youtube who is playing a pikmin randomizer, and i've been watching him for a bit just testing the waters bc i wasnt sure how i felt abt his streams

then i go and check his channel to pull up his pikmin playlist and i see his channel bio and it knocks the wind out of me

LIKE he has said multiple time he is autistic in his streams but just the way he phrased it is killing me
