As a human I am horrified by this and as a Jew I am both doubly horrified and I feel intense empathy and compassion for the Armenians.

For all those who message me saying, ''The past has passed,'' and we must turn the page; it's not the case when you're dealing with a ravenous beast devoid of any humanity.

“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse, and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.”
― Desmond Tutu (Foreword)
I might have no platform as an artist or writer but I'm not a d!ck. I'm an IR grad and I watch current events to stay updated. Human rights are not up for debate. Honestly, I separate myself from any country personification media, pop culture, or fandom who claims to like "history" and "historical events" but is radio silent about genocide. Remember "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor..." what really gets to me the most about the situation in armenia is that its all just for oil money. azerbaijan wants to put pipelines all over armenian land which they have no control over and theyre Big Mad about this so they propped up an absurdly elaborate apparatus of anti-armenian propaganda to justify invading and exterminating them. all of this just so that turkey and azerbaijan can fuck on an even bigger pile of oil money (and dead armenians). through reading about this "conflict" (for lack of a better word- it's a gross euphemism for what is actually happening) i've come to realize that when people say that the rich are in an oil-worshipping death cult, it is not an exaggeration. azerbaijan isn't just committing genocide, they're committing ecocide too and the international community is being bribed into accepting it- look up caviar diplomacy. it's grotesque, straight up vomit-inducing. sanction azerbaijan fucking yesterday.

It's been two months since more than 100 thousand armenians have been ethnically cleansed from their homeland of Artsakh. This doesn't mean that everything is over and everyone can get back to their daily lives and forget about it. I found some ways to help that I urge you to at least reblog.

my laptop has hit its date of planned obsolescence it seems, I have a problem with the mouse where it goes all over my screen and clicks on things on its own. i have tried for over a month to fix it, I've tried updating drivers, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse, I tried turning the touchpad off and using an external mouse, I fucking reinstalled windows. nothing has helped.
i've run out of ways to fix this save replacing the touchpad entirely and that's not even guaranteed to work and could be almost as expensive as a brand new laptop, and ngl this is not the only problem I have a 2in1 tablet and the touch screen hasn't worked in about a year. i think i'm just going to have to buy a new laptop. it's one thing rn while I'm on a gap year and only using my laptop for silly things, but come January I'm going back to school and it's going to be a nightmare; as it is, I keep finding bits of my fics that have random segments deleted or words/phrases pasted in place of the text i'd originally written, if that happens to my essays or school notes I could be screwed, bc I don't always notice the errors caused by my haunted mouse. i have a little bit of income, I'll be able to save $140 per month for a replacement if I dedicate my entire patreon income per month and $15 out of my weekly grocery budget to saving up, but the replacement I'm looking at (lenovo ideapad 5i bc I have a lenovo ideapad 3i or something) is about $450 and it'll take me 3 months and change to reach that number. and there's no guarantee that price won't increase before I'm able to purchase a new laptop, since the price for the model I want has fluctuated from between $600 and $425 in the last six months (amazon price tracker).
if you've ever wanted me to write a particular story, pretty please reach out. $30 gets you 1k, $45 gets you 2k, etc. plus sometimes I go over the word count predicted and just give the extra bits for free instead of chopping it down. i also have ko-fi and patreon, which I mentioned, also under the name moonythejedi.
and if you'd rather not give your money to my new laptop fund, but you do have some spare cash, consider donating to Armenians displaced by the genocide in Artsahk. recently every single fucking Armenian in Artsakh had to flee their homes due to Azerbaijani aggression.
commissions
i am going through a tough time financially so i just wanna put out there that I'm available to be commissioned. it's $3 per hundred words for the first 1k, then $1.50 for every hundred words after that

The House of Representatives has voted to effectively conceal the death toll from Israel’s war on Gaza.
On Thursday, lawmakers voted 269-144 on an amendment to prohibit the State Department from citing statistics from the Gaza Health Ministry. The measure is part of the annual State Department appropriations bill. It was led by Democratic Reps. Jared Moskowitz, Fla., and Josh Gottheimer, N.J., and Republican Reps. Joe Wilson, S.C.; Mike Lawler, N.Y.; and Carol Miller, W.V.
In total, 62 Democrats joined 207 Republicans in supporting the amendment. Here are the 62 Democrats who joined 207 Republicans to ban giving funds to the State Department to cite the Gaza Health Ministry, undermining the organization’s death & injury figures. https://t.co/n7DveMQaPQ pic.twitter.com/Nas0Fgm4Ag
— Prem Thakker (@prem_thakker) June 27, 2024
While party leaders often push their members to vote “yes” or “no” on any range of proposals, Democratic leadership gave “no recommendation” to its members on how to vote on the amendment. After the House passes the full bill, it will head to the Senate for consideration.
Mohammed Khader, policy manager at the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights Action, told The Intercept that the amendment is part of a trend of anti-Palestinian sentiment in Congress since the start of Israel’s atrocities in Gaza. “By preventing any recognition of the number of Palestinians killed since October, this amendment is a clear example of genocide denial and is no different from what was done towards victims of genocides in Rwanda and Armenia.”
On Wednesday, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., the only Palestinian member of Congress, took to the floor to make a similar argument. “This is genocide denial,” she said.
After reciting the death toll and other statistics about casualties, Tlaib said she intended to introduce the list of Palestinians killed in Gaza to the congressional record. “It is important to note this to everyone here: The list is too long that I can’t even submit it because of the text limit,” she said. “That’s how many have been killed.”
The Ministry of Health is the only official entity tracking the death toll in Gaza; its figures have been cited broadly, including by the U.S. and Israeli governments. Over the last eight months, Israel has killed at least 37,765 people and injured another 86,429, according to the ministry’s latest figures. These numbers are likely an undercount due to the decimated medical infrastructure, killed medical workers, and thousands feared trapped under the rubble in Gaza.
“It’s despicable but not shocking that 62 Democrats joined Republicans to refute the Gaza death toll,” one Democratic staffer told The Intercept. “Democratic leadership should be ashamed for refusing to take a stand and call out the blatant anti-Palestinian racism and genocide denial in our party.”
Moskowitz and Gottheimer are among several Democrats who have repeatedly worked to undermine the movement for Palestinian rights and pro-Palestinian speech.
In April, the pair joined Republicans to lead a resolution condemning the phrase “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” as antisemitic. In December, the duo joined Republican Reps. Elise Stefanik and Steve Scalise to lead a resolution condemning university presidents and calling for their resignations for allegedly tolerating antisemitism on campus. In November, the two Democrats joined 20 others in censuring Tlaib, for reasons that included posting a video calling for a ceasefire that contained the phrase “from the river to the sea.”
Gottheimer has gone even further, calling Democrats who don’t support Israel a “cancer” and suggesting that Muslims in America are “guilty” of Hamas’s attack on October 7. Along with Lawler, he headlined a call hosted by No Labels, in which he spoke with university trustees about how to push the FBI to take a bigger role in investigating campus protests. During that call, Lawler suggested that student protests for Palestine were the type of activity that inspired the TikTok ban.
The pair also joined 60 other Democrats in expressing their “disgust” at South Africa’s 84-page suit accusing Israel of genocide and praising White House spokesperson John Kirby for calling it “meritless, counterproductive, and completely without any basic in fact whatsoever.” Not long after, the International Court of Justice concluded that Israel is plausibly committing genocide.

BRIEFLY ABOUT WHAT'S HAPPENING IN ARMENIA
The present government of Armenia, under the leadership of the infamous madman Nikol Pashinyan, has made the decision to cede some Armenian territory to Azerbaijan, a neighboring country that has relentlessly waged war against Armenia for decades, leaving scars of loss and anguish in its wake. On April 19, the Armenian and Azerbaijani border demarcation commissions agreed to initiate border demarcation proceedings starting from the Tavush region. The delineation of the border sections will be based on coordinates clarified through geodetic measurements on-site, with completion expected by May 15th, 2024. Representatives of the Armenian Prime Minister announced that, as a consequence, Azerbaijan would gain control over 2.5 villages, purportedly leading to a reduction in security risks for the Republic of Armenia. This decision has been likened to extending a hand to a voracious beast in the hope that it will miraculously abandon its predatory instincts and refrain from further aggression. Those familiar with the historical tensions between these nations recognize this as the initial step toward Armenia's capitulation. Since April 19, residents of Tavush border villages, supported by demonstrators from across the country, have been staging protests along the Armenia-Georgia interstate road. Despite these protests, 35 border posts have already been erected along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. Opponents of the border delimitation, led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, head of the Diocese of Tavush, are marching from Kirants—one of the affected villages—to Yerevan in an attempt to halt the border demarcation process. Archbishop Bagrat Sacrosanct previously declared that the movement would reach Yerevan by the afternoon of May 9, where they will present specific demands to the government. The participants demand an end to the concessionary policy and unilateral concessions endorsed by the government, which will, without a shadow of a doubt, endanger the safety of Armenians and Armenia as an independent country. Hence, every single one of us needs to be politically conscious. Who knows? Perhaps one day your leader, too, will decide to sell parts of your country to your enemy.
