Russel was the only band member capable of cooking anything beyond microwavable meals during phase 1. Murdoc would cook up unholy abominations whenever he tried and 2D was banned from using stoves (they're lucky he never burnt the kitchen down). Noodle couldn't even reach the stove (which didn't stop her from trying).

It worked out, though. Russel is great at cooking. It's a hobby that was passed down to him by his mother. He'd always been a momma's boy; he knows all her recipes and keeps them top secret. You're not getting them out of him, no matter what.

Russel used to be really nervous about performing on stage when the band was starting out. He was perfectly fine during practice with the band and didn't think he'd have as much trouble in front of crowds, but it's always different once you get into the mix. Lucky for him, Del served as his hype man, boosting his confidence before shows with a pep talk. He was able to work through his anxiety thanks to Del. Del's pre-show encouragement sticks with him even now.

I got my hands on a copy of Rise of the Ogre and it's been a blast reading through it. I wasn't there to see the band's golden age, but having access to all the band's older projects is so. AAAGH. It makes me miss a time I never even experienced. They put so much effort into projects aside from the albums (G-bitez, numerous interviews, their website, etc). I can't help but wish they'd do more for the characters nowadays. Maybe it's a bit selfish idk but MAN I ****know**** they could be doing so many creative things, just like they used to. Tons and tons of potential that seemed to dwindle after Plastic Beach bombed. In short I would love to see Gorillaz regain their confidence and come back with expansions on their characters and lore and stuff..... hire me please Gorillaz .....

2D is actually pretty good at videogames, especially retro, 8-bit ones or if they have anything to do with zombies.

we know he has a penchant for zombie movies. I like to think of zombies as a very particular interest of his.

Under better circumstances, where Noodle and Cyborg Noodle had the chance to interact, they would have developed a familial bond. Not a simple one, definitely complicated, especially during/immediately after the Plastic Beach era.

I can't even imagine being Noodle, having just evaded being killed to rescue Murdoc (from the consequences of his actions) and then, like- finding out he cloned her because he wanted to *replace* her.

And I can't imagine that Cyborg Noodle would be happy coming face to face with the person she was made to replace. She knew she was nothing more than that, a stand-in. There's no way Murdoc didn't rub that in when he was drunk or something.

Cyborg and Noodle look almost the same, but they're completely opposite people. Noodle has confidence, she's good at everything she does, and is naturally charismatic. Cyborg is cold, scary, closed off, hates socializing, isn't particularly good at things that don't involve violence or music and is completely mute as a result of not having an actual voice.

And taking all of this into account, I think Noodle would see a lot of herself in Cyborg. Someone, *something* engineered to fight. She can see how there's no light in Cyborg's eyes, she can see her anger. It wasn't Cyborg's choice to pop into existence.

Cyborg would definitely push back plenty in the beginning, but would eventually let Noodle teach her about living for herself and gaining her own interests and hopes, etc. Noodle would basically take Cyborg under her wing as an older sister figure.

I'm not sure how many other people agree, but my favorite song is probably Do Ya Thing. The 13 minute version.

It's weird, catchy, half-improv, has a goofy instrumental- You can tell it's a song they had a lot of fun with and to me it reflects the time it was made in. It's a shame converse kinda tied it down tho
