Holy cow, I’ve never seen a seed stem on rhubarb as tall as this. I’ve been growing this one over 40 years and I guess it doesn’t mind this drought we had. The stem is six feet tall. 🙄

Had a bit of energy so I dug up the beds today! Two of the three potato variants had sprouted, one hadn't, and the slugs took all but a single three cm carrot. Next year I'm getting an anti-slug edge for the two remaining beds too. The sunroots were more sun than root but we got a couple of bulbs at least.

I had strawberry rhubarb pie as a kid and even though I was a very picky child, I remember loving it, hadn't had it since then, so I don't remember what it tastes like

I’m glad you liked it as a kid!

Rhubarb is sort of sour, but since you put a lot of sugar in the pie it balances out and is really good. A lot of times people will mix it with strawberries in a pie because they sort of have similar flavors.
