sorry still thinking about Carmilla but saw a bunch of btvs posts. Dracula appears in btvs. He's, yknow, seductive and enegmatic and mind-controll-y, and as usual, very dramatic.

I want Carmilla and Laura to have appeared. I want Buffy to have to face two sickeningly in love lesbian vampires who don't even give a shit she's trying to kill them they're just like 'aw what a cute girl'. Buffy keeps finding them in weird places but they always have a perfect excuse for why and no, of course they couldn't have killed this person. No one else believes Buffy when she says they're vampires. They're just two gals chilling out with some really dark wine, darling.

This week I wasn't able to do much drawing unfortunately, apart from my drawing group of HH/HB since Carmilla came up this week. I made this composition with her daughters but I must say that Zestial is missing among them :33

watched the first ep of iwtv last night and i am a changed man. Like holy hell. I knew it was a gay show going in but i thought it was like, NBC Hannibal type gay where like theyre definitely gay but they never like, kiss or have sex on screen. Nay! Not true they have sex a lot! I dont even want to watch the rest because I know everything is going to get so horrible and id rather just believe that louis and lestat are just vampire boyfriends in love forever but i know that is not happening.

Today: Crypt of the Vampire (1964)

Feels like I already covered this with the Carmilla and lesbian vampire posts, but I do what I want, so.

Crypt of the Vampire, also known as Terror In The Crypt (the meaning of the original title) is a 1964 Italian-Spanish gothic horror film in the lesbian vampire subgenre. It is a rather faithful adaptation of the classic novel Carmilla, with the major difference being the addition of witchcraft. It is very atmospheric, with lots of blowing curtains and dream sequences that blur the edges of reality. It was filmed in an actual castle, and stars among others Christopher Lee, because of course it does.

Of the ones that I saw, this is my favorite Carmilla adaptation.

I love how many people were willing to tell Laura that ‘the world doesn’t revolve around your star-crossed romance with your broody vampire lover and people you care about get hurt when you forget that’ and I wish that more people got to say that to Buffy in seasons 2 and 3 of btvs (and those ats episodes that she was in). I don’t think it would’ve changed anything really but it would’ve been nice to see.
