i've been following your blog for a while and absolutely adore your writing!
if its okay i'd love to see something with either leona or jamil (up to you!) and a reader who falls asleep on their shoulder during some sort of nrc road trip.. i'm not sure if nrc would have buses per say considering all the magic and stuff but the concept of an nrc school trip seems super interesting to me so if you're up for the request by all means just have fun with it!! i do notice that your requests are semi open so feel free to decline ofc !
— ☁️
⁀➷ ˖ ROAD TRIP DROWSINESS
notes ─── hi anon! i’m so happy you like my writing! i don't think they'd have buses at nrc because of the mirror, but crowley would probably spring a sudden road trip on them which would just confuse the students, because why? (i also imagine their bus would probably be a bit fancier? idk how to explain it but nothing like the busses i'm used to.)
LEONA KINGSCHOLAR ─── a wave of drowsiness leads you to find comfort on his shoulder ♡ fluff, gender neutral, can be read platonic or romantic, not proofread
transportation for students at nrc was not hard, all they had to do was enter the dark mirror and then they found themselves safely at their destination. so if it was that easy, why in the world was the headmage so adamant that they boarded this bus like they were kids back in middle school? ─ a road trip was his very (might many students say stupid) answer.
the only person who seemed to not have a problem with this sudden turn of events, was the magicless prefect from ramshackle. you didn't give any complaints or groan about using the easy way to get to the destination. you just nodded when the headmage announced the decision.
students were chosen at random, names drawn from a hat (a method the headmage seemed to rely on often). and as the prefect, and the designated scapegoat for everything crowley did, you were of course among that group, with your dire beast other half.
“i don't get it,” grim frowned, sitting on your shoulder as you approached the bus, where many familiar faces waited to board. “why can't we just use the mirror?”
ace was walking alongside you, being one of the people drawn to join the group. he had decided to met you at ramshackle, knowing you would inevitably have to board the bus as well. “i think the headmage called it some sort of bonding experience. don't know how a hours-long road will be a bonding experience.”
grim grumbled, turning his head to look at your face. you have yet to say anything to add to the conversation. “whaddya’ think, [name]?”
“what?” you blinked, sending a glance to the dire beast before looking ahead of you once more. “what do i think about what?”
“were you even listening to anything we just said?” ace sighed.
you hummed, “i’ve learned to tune you guys out the moment you start speaking.” ─ and then you were wincing as the two of them shouted, leaning your head away from the monster as he and ace expressed how offended they were.
you sighed, this was going to be a long ride.
and right you were.
things were okay (as okay as a group of irritable teenage boys with magic on a bus could be) during the first hour. but as the first hour turned to half, and you found yourself growing drowsy, you attempted to doze off, at least for a good twenty minutes. you were unsuccessful, as the moment you closed your eyes, you were quickly opening them to glance at a yelling grim.
epel and sebek, also being among the names drawn, were sitting next to you. epel and grim looked ready to pounce on an unnamed student who seemed to have picked a fight with them. ace didn't do much to stop the argument, in fact, he was actively encouraging it. and sebek, while he made an attempt to hold back a seething grim, was not of much help either.
you sighed, but made no move to stop it ─ you expected something to happen eventually, and you weren't all that up to being the “reasonable” one of the group. you aren't sure what the argument was about, but neither did you care. if grim got in trouble for attacking a student, it would come back to bite you, but that was something for future you to worry about.
you glanced around the bus, before your attention landed on the savanaclaw housewarden sitting alone. ─ your friends continued to argue with the random guy, and you were sure they had no intention of ending the argument anytime soon. and you would rather sleep off some time on the road rather than listen to your friends go back and forth with someone you didn't even know the name of. you stood from your seat, uncaring of whether or not it was okay to do so as you approached the empty seat.
leona had his head down, probably napping, the same thing you wanted to do. when you sat down beside him his ears twitched and he lifted his head to look at you, probably intending to scowl and scare off whoever had been stupid enough to sit beside him, until he realized it was you.
“what are you doing?” he frowned at you, but you went unfazed.
“sitting next to you, obviously.”
leona rolled his eyes, “why?”
instead of giving a verbal answer, you pointed at your friends, where sebek now had a grip on the scruff of grim’s neck, keeping him from jumping at the student. ace was laughing, offering no help to the half-fae. epel was no better than grim, with sebek’s arm held out in front of him, keeping him from doing anything.
"so you came to bother me instead?" he asked, and you looked at him straight-faced.
"yup."
leona sighed, but he didn't tell you to scram (not like you would if he did). he didn't say anything else, only close his eyes again and turning away, likely to try and nap. you weren't offended by his lack of reply, leaning your head back against the seat and trailing your eyes over the bus and your peers.
the longer you sat in somewhat silence ─ save for the incoherent yelling from your friends, you had for the most part zoned out, and the chatter of those on board ─ you found yourself falling to the drowsiness that have been interrupted before. you closed your eyes and let the movement of the bus guide you to sleep.
leona was awake, annoyed by the bus and those on the bus. his ears twitched when he heard your breathing slow beside him and he lifted his head, just as your head lolled to the side and you leaned against his shoulder.
he sighed, but made no move to push you off, glancing around you at the rest of the students of nrc, who were all either sleeping themselves, or chatting with friends. he leaned his head back, eyeing you as you shifted for a moment before relaxing again.
"where'd [name] go?" leona could hear your friends ask, no longer distracted by the argument that they were having with the random student.
he looked back at them, just in time to catch ace's eye, who was the first to see you sleeping against leona. he looked ready to say something, but leona narrowed his eyes on the first year. ace immediately shut his mouth, grinning awkwardly as he turned back to his friends.
leona huffed, looking back down at you to make sure you didn't stir. he adjusted in more comfortable position, an arm resting behind you on the seat, allowing you to lean closer, and hopefully, be more comfortable than leaning against his shoulder the way you had. and then he closed his eyes and joined you in a nap for the rest of the ride. (at least until they stopped for a break.)
this wasn't proofread so there will be probably be mistakes, i'll try to come back to edit later!

Knight in Shining, Bloody Armor

You are a dutiful soul, working tirelessly to do your duty for the Imperium. Your job isn't glamorous or important in the full scheme of things.
You are, after all, just a Serf, one who serves aboard McCragge's Honnor. You had don't your best to try to stop crying, part of you wondering just what you had done, or was it simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time?
Captain Sicarius is infamous for his horrible temper and brusque demeanor. You try to rub your face clear of tears frustratedly, you thought you had a thick skin in regards to insults and bullying behaviors.
Granted, when in front of people who treat you poorly you can show a brave, or polite face. That was something you prided yourself on. In an Emergency Situation you kept your head cool and calm, and only collapsed and had a panic attack only after the situation was dealt with.
Unless someone else with higher authority and understanding was in charge, then you reacted like a complete moron, unless you were specifically trained not to act like a jibbering idiot.
But then again, humans, base lines at least, still feel that emotion called fear, which can make even the most intelligent of person do something that could be potentially fatally stupid. Like trying to poor water on a cooking oil fire, or something equally understandably dumb.
You heard a voice rumble out, deep and soothing, and filled with compassionate concern, "Hello? Did you need help with anything?"
You turn to look to see who's talking and try to stop crying, rubbing your face clear of tears as you hurriedly bow to the Lueitenant of the Second Company, Titus. "M-my Lord, forgive me for disturbing you."
"It's alright, I am not distrubed," Titus says kindly, "I heard someone crying and wanted to see what was wrong… if you care to tell me that is."
"I thank you for your concern, my lord," You say bowing your head again. Sometimes, while the Angels of Ultramar can be brusque, rude, and demanding. Other times, and other Angels can be much kinder, more caring, and concerned for the mortals below them and in their care. "I was just… overly sensitive."
It was an interesting dicotomy that you'd started to notice, with certain Serfs helping to warn others of the more Tempermental ones, and the supervisors rewarding or punishing those lower ranked under their perview with serving near the kinder or more stern Lord Angels of Ultramar. Lt. Titus of the Second Company is one of the kinder Lord Angels.
"Hm." Titus says quietly eyeing you assessingly.
He'd heard his wonderful little brother and Captain Titus snarling at some poor Serf recently, which was not a good look. Granted, Cato is known for being a gaint bastard, but such things could make resentments start, flare, and fester within the mortals of the crew.
Which was not good for morale and making sure that those who served them did so without bitterness made it so that Chaos had less of a chance to take a hold of those that tend to their needs. Cato, arrogant brat that he could be, doesn't care about that. Or doesn't care to listen to someone who'd been demoted for un-codex-like behavior.
Despite the fact that the hot head could, and has stretched the limits of Codex-complaint behavior that, had he been any less favored, would have him in hot shit, more often with others of their Chapter.
Favoritism, was unfortunately, something that happened sometimes, with certain blood lines getting better treatment than others. While the Ultramarines try to be a meritocracy, sometimes Noble Borns have an easier time of it then those Ultramarines that come from a lower starting station.
The Captain of the Fourth Company Ventris comes to mind and how he's treated versus Cato in regards to stretching the rules of the Codex.
Not that Titus can say anything about that, or even imply as such. Not with the black marks on his records. Wouldn't want to seem… ungrateful for the position that he has, and the fact that he wasn't killed for his brush against Chaos.
He pulls his mind from his thoughts and focuses back on the young serf, who was watching them with wide eyes. They had a lovely form. Soft looking skin, despite the hard work that they must do in order to be a Serf for the Ultramarines. Titus forcefully pulls his thougths away from admiring their form, wondering where that thought had come from.
Since the Serf doesn't seem willing to tell him what had upset them so, he decided to back off, but kindly reminded them that he would be there if they wanted to talk to him about what had upset them. You were amazed, and also a little curious about why this Angel cared about why some random Serf was so upset. It was nice, even if a more suspicious part of you wondered what it was that he was after.

Star Wars needs more silliness... because the jokes are good enough.
youtube
Once again, if you don't know, I'm what Lily would refer to as a Star Wars weeb. I live breath and shit Star Wars. You got it good. Let's dig in.
Not even a minute in before Lily starts complaining about how Star Wars is diving deeper into the lore of how the galaxy works. Even though she says she likes Star Wars, I never understood people who say they like something but don't want to know more about said thing.
She brings up that all the characters in the new Star Wars are basically the same character from older movies, which is kinda true, but that's also taking away the characters' motivation and story line she's uses Rey as an example saying "what if Anakin was a girl and a big dork." Which is kinda cute but completely ignores the fact that Rey and Anakin are nothing alike.
Now, I do agree with how Rey is a pretty refreshing character (and her video was made before TROS), but she's not as refreshing as she thinks Rey is. She even hit us with the "she's not like other girls," saying, "There is no mystery behind her origins. She wasn't linked to any characters of the past movie/books. She's just a force sensitive person who happened to get caught up in the war by circumstances." But then goes onto saying that no one liked that and that everyone wanted another, Luke. I am your father (which she called stupid)
She goes on a tangent about her complaints about TROS, which is valid. The last Star Wars movie was a big disappointment to anyone who liked the sequel. (I didn't like the sequels because I thought Finn would have made a better main character and the idea of a fascist soldier who was born into the army, learning that he was on the wrong side and worked to make up for his sins more interesting, also for what they did to Luke, Leia, Han, and everyone else from the original.)
After that, she brings up that everyone called Rey a Mary Sue, which is also dumb. She brings up the fact that Rey's force sensitive and uses Luke, Anakin, and Revan as examples of being overpowered, saying Luke had perfect had and Anakin had the reflexes of a god (idk much about Revahn so I'm skipping him) then mocks the people who cried over Rey not having any lightsaber training. But Luke and Anakin already had training in their own way. In the novelization of a new hope and even in the movie, it's stated that Luke would use wamp rats for target practice. Anakin was a slave who was bullied and probably beaten a lot, so he had to train himself to react faster. Anyone who's even been in a situation where you can't fight back will know that dodging and getting fast reflexes will help make sure you don't get hurt. Now, she uses her examples to explain that Rey would be able to beat Kylo in a fight because he's just a wimp. The nephew of Luke, who has been trained in the ways of the force since he was a child, is labeled as wimp. Technically speaking by Lily’s own logic, Kylo would have killed Rey in their first fight.
Okay, for those of you who care, I kinda write the blog post while watching the video, so I'm not even halfway done with this bullshit and I've already written 5 paragraphs of her video and she has yet to bring up why star wars needs more silliness... on to 6.
She then states that despite all her complaints about the movies (because she doesn't want to sound like a naiz), she really loves Rey and how... (this pissed me the fuck off) it brought life into Luke, Han, and Leia saying they were dull as crap. BITCH! I fucking love the original gang (they were my bi awakening) and when I heard they were bringing back the characters for the sequels I was very hesitant and I was right to be. The sequels did the gang so dirty, making Luke (the one who wanted to save his father, the man that chopped off his hand and killed millions of people and Jedi because he still had faith that his father was in there.) A mad man who tried to kill nephew because he had a scary dream of going to the dark side. They made Han (a badass who is a loving father and husband) a fucking deadbeat who lives in his van with his best friend. And they didn’t do shit for Leia she's not her sassy self or anything. She's just there for fan service.
She gets to her main problem with Star Wars saying, "They just rehash the same plot but with different seasoning. They all follow the exact same story: plucky underdog, every man rebels fighting against the evil empire." But the thing is that while sure Star Wars is just the same story over and over, it's the characters that I think is what makes it feel like it's something new. Seeing how different characters react to certain things. Luke wanted to be more than a farmer with fate, helping him become one of the strongest Jedi. Ezra only focused on keeping himself alive and not caring about anyone else to then becoming a strong leader with willing to risk his life for others. You aren't watching the same story with the copy and paste characters. You are seeing characters in the same situation dealing with it differently.
At the end of the video, she talks about her shity Star Wars fanfic and how that's how she would have written the sequels, which now that I realize what she had in mind with writing it explains why it's so fucking boring. why in the only 3 chapters I had read, nothing had happened. Thank god no one with a brain would ever leave her in charge of anything.
And of course, she can't make a video without insulting people for having a different definition of fun than her. Lily, for most people in the Star Wars exploring the lore and wondering how the rebels got the death star plans is fun for them, and most of us want to branch out from the force users to see how people in the galaxy deal with the empire. You know world building something Lily isn't good at.
Okay, this video really hurt to watch, and I completely hated it, and she didn't even explain why Star Wars needs more silliness she's just complaining about Star Wars even though she claims to love it.

complaints and feedbacks about the game
so far i find that most people are just, okay with how the game is going. they don't exactly provide any feedbacks nor do they criticise Black Shepherd Games for railing almost every deadline they give themselves.
but people need to understand that the game is in demo, and this is one of the most crucial times for it to receive feedbacks; to inform that the writing is off, or how a mechanic in the game is being weird. so dont be afraid to give your feedbacks, we do it because we want the game to be better and we care about the golfball ‼️
i. a save file
this is like, one of the things everyone's been asking for. but i still think it's kinda stupid that it's already day 4 and we still dont have a save file.
ii. the sprites.
im well aware that fuboo wants her game to have a lot of sprites — but just changing his expressions without making changes like tilting his head even a little is not it. it looks like he has joint problems. also! some of the sprites have colours leaking out of their lineart so that's something
iii. the game updates
fuboo tends to just inform of their progress on patreon half-heartedly. well, at least when i was still paying. it's frustrating! i want to know more details about the game. not just:
mind you they were already pretty late on finishing up day 4 around this time too. do a monthly update of the game with details or something, show us that progress is being made and be strict with your deadlines.
v. deadlines deadlines deadlines
please please please adhere to your own deadlines. this ensures that the game progress is flowing smoothly. if day 1 - day 4 have taken this long, how long should we expect for the game to be finished, really?
vi. the writing
i dont even need to touch on how out of character YB has been after day 3. some people like it, some people dont. a problem i have with it is the fact that they basically forgot how they wrote about him on tumblr :/ like, why waste so much potential and material? the first red flag was how he reacted when you name him after yourself back in day 1. so it made me wonder...
who's really writing this game?
vii. invest in proofreaders
i dont know if they already have one but last i checked 'pigeons' was still spelled as 'pidgeons' back in day 1.
viii. mechanics
an important part of a demo is to show the mechanics of how a game works. this means your main ones shouldn't have a problem by now that you're knee deep into progress. have an audio toggle, have a log for the progress your players have made, give more features to the settings. the mechanics of a game is the backbone of it, if you fuck it up early then it's gonna be a while for you to fix it
i think thats all ive got for now, do inform me if there's changes that theyve made which im not aware of. other than that we should remember that the game is supposed to interconnect with the blog, and thats where the source material should've been from (and stick with it)

Do you think the TVDU lacked female friendships in its shows? Like, I can’t think of any meaningful female friendships in TVD outside of Elena, Bonnie, and Caroline. The women were always either not getting along or had very little interaction.
I think TO was worse when it came to this. Outside of the occasional Hayley/Rebekah, Hayley/Cami scenes, the women didn’t really interact. Though I think this is more so due to TO not really focusing on any relationships that weren’t familial. (And the lack of female characters in general.) Hayley and Freya were the only two female characters who were main characters for the majority of the show, yet their friendship only blossomed offscreen between the s4 and s5 time jump.
While I’m not a fan of Legacies, I think that show definitely did better with this aspect with Hope/Lizzie, Hope/Josie, etc.
Anyway, I love your blog and would love to hear your thoughts on this!
Hi love! I love to discuss female friendships and the lack of them in TVDU.
I feel like the show loved to have these friendships in the background but put almost zero effort into them.
I will always love Bonnie, Elena, and Caroline. I especially loved Bonnie and Caroline's bond after Elena left. Yes, they all had problems and at times weren't the best of friends, but the bond was always there. They were all willing to sacrifice themselves for each other. But the most important aspect of their friendship was the day to day. I loved the little moments of friendship we got throughout the show. There were definitely things I would change and improve but they had the best friendship in the show.
Now, in TO, we get almost nothing. Like I said, we have background friendships, Hayley/Rebekah, Hayley/Cami, Rebekah/Davina, Hayley/Davina, etc. But the show invests almost no time in the friendships. I agree with your point that TO just didn't "waste" time on relationships, romantic or platonic. It is one of my biggest complaints. We hardly got any scenes of just pure friendship. To me, the best TO friendship is Davina and Josh and even that is limited.
In TO, the women tend to revolve around the men because the show revolves around the Mikaelson men, and more specifically Klaus. Even when the women are interacting, they are often interacting because of the men. We finally see a good friendship between women in the later seasons, Hayley and Freya, and as you said, it happens off screen and only after the Mikaelson men are forced out of NOLA.
I do think it would have been different had Claire Holt been able to stay on the show as a main character. Season 1 showed her friendships with Davina and Hayley and I think her and Cami would have bonded quickly. Unfortunately she wasn't able to and the show was still going to revolve around the Mikaelsons. They tried to just pass the relationships onto Freya as Rebekah's replacement, but there was just too much already going on at that point and they were having to build up her relationship with her family (the men) from nothing. Unlike Rebekah who already had established relationships with her brothers. This made Freya's relationships with the other women more strained.
Also, I would be remiss if I don't mention this is another reason Cami's death was so stupid. She was a central figure, uniting the different characters, and had probably the most important relationships with other women.
Honestly, the edits I've seen of Hope, Lizzie, and Josie are the only reason I debate watching Legacies. It seems like the show did a better job of recapturing the TVD friendships and even improved upon it.
Thank you for the ask and for reading my long winded metas <33

This text is an expression of my friend’s complaint and does not intend to offend anyone!
Hello everyone.
Today I would like to talk about a person named Trish 03 (@trishzerothree). This is a 13 year old girl who supports Wilbur Soot and makes fanarts of him.
Everything was fine until the situation that happened with Wilbur, which we all know about. Trish made a post on her blog on this topic, and immediately people started attacking her, saying that she was wrong and that she needed to change her mind. And also, people showed a huge amount of ageism towards Trish, saying that she was too young to talk about such things and treating her like an infant.
Trish was sent many anonymous messages where they insulted her and called her sick, crazy, and also tried to change her mind.
Everyone has a different opinion and telling someone to change it is stupid. People have their reasons to like a certain thing and if they did their research (as my friend did) and haven't changed their mind - they have rights for it.
You are being hypocrites by saying how kind and tolerant you are but at the same time showing enormous ageism.
Recently Trish’s blog was shadowbanned due to reports. This greatly affected her mental health. You didn’t do anything with your reports, you just made the child feel awful, and that’s all.
You didn’t support Shubble with your reports and didn’t do anything good, just ruining the child's mental health. You call yourself good after this?

I've been thinking a lot about that controversial poll of mine.
This is something of a discourse post so if you're not in the mood for that this is your cue to scroll.
It really bugged me, getting so much criticism. Kinda because I wasn't sure if the complaints were fair or not. If it was a big deal. If I'd done something wrong. Kinda because I didn't expect it. Kinda because people were rude.
I've already addressed it a bit, mostly in replies (some of which I've since deleted, I don't want to have so much discourse on my blog).
The complaints I got were primarily about the fact that I said "usa moment?" as a comment on the only speaking one language thing. Two different ones I remember very well was one accusing me of being classist for saying it was "normal" to speak 3 languages. Another saying I was calling usamericans stupid by saying all usamericans only speak one language.
Now, for anyone who knows anything about me or doesn't assume bad faith in every case, you might understand that I didn't intend to create either of those impressions. I won't say I don't understand how people came to those conclusions, they're not ridiculous, but they are still extreme interpretations.
I didn't really anticipate people having such strong feelings about language. I forget that many people derive their worth from things like being smart. I do think being offended at the mere association with people who know few languages (I was pretty clearly not saying every usamerican only spoke 1 language, 0 people believe that), is kinda elitist.
I don't really want to take back using my own normal as the normal, but I understand it's probably a bit inflammatory. My poll was obviously intended to be seen by a global (or at least international) audience, so just saying "normal" like that was kinda poorly thought through. I just get so tired from and of the us-centricism of tumblr.
I also do kinda want to point that I am kinda right. The majority of usamericans are only fluent in one language (source) (though because of my definition, I'm sure a lot more usamericans are considered multilingual). And of the countries where the majority of people are monolingual, the USA is where most people are likely to see it. And the reason is a mix of privilege and lack of privilege. It's the privilege of the entire internet, and more, being made for You above all else. And it's because of underfunded language classes, because of politics.
Also to say it outright, even though I've already implied it. I don't think less of anyone for being monolingual; I don't judge monolinguals; I don't think you're dumb for being monolingual. None of that. (I also mostly don't judge people for being dumb, but that's not that relevant here). I think it's cool to know more languages, but it's fine to be monolingual. I am really sad that people felt judged for being monolingual.
Idk if anyone who is going to see this is one of the people who were annoyed by that post, but I just wanted to put it out there. I don't know if the way I've responded is more reasonable, less of something people might get annoyed with and might argue with, but it's a response.

Hello, I hope this is okay for me to send. I'm one of the blogs you blocked. (First off, this is your good right, and I completely understand and I hope this isn't a breach or invasion of privacy to send this from a different blog)
I always made sure to only tag content of Nolanverse Crane when it's really him and not any other Cillian role because I understand the frustration. And like I said, I absolutely understand that he's not a proper Scarecrow in your eyes. But it kind of hurts to get lumped into a group where I don't feel like I belong (if that makes sense)
Scarecrow in general is my favorite character in any comic related media. Arkhamverse Crane and Audio Adventures are at the top for me, and I also have a deep love for Fear State and little fan interpretations where he's just a funky little freak. My blog is Nolanverse centric atm because I just haven't gotten around to writing fics for the others. (And I'm worried I won't write them well tbh)
But all of that aside, my reason for actually sending this was because I was genuinely missing your posts and opinions on my dash. I was honestly a little worried that I didn't see anything from you before I realized what happened.
This isn't me being angry or petty and please don't think I feel entitled to seeing your posts (I don't want to be THAT person)
I guess this is just me saying goodbye to a pillar of the Scarecrow fandom, and it makes me a little sad
From the bottom of my heart, I hope your mom's recovery goes well and you have a great rest of the day/week/month. And a happy early birthday, Moffy
(ALSO SORRY FOR THIS ESSAY OMG)
A couple of things </3
I THINK I knew who this is. I blocked one person after I made that post. Looking back, that was probably a stupid mistake. I'mma unblock to check when I post this, and you let me know? (I was thinking....oh god I'm gonna get hate from the fangirls and taht legit clouded my judgement. I still fear anon hate)
See, that post was mainly about people I blocked weeks/months ago. I often only block the fangirls, for lack of a better word. I actually made the Cillian post on a whim. I needed some content for the day. (you probably know I upload daily) And sometimes, a little anger is okay. it's a valid emotion. Again, the people I block are more fans of the actor than the character. My main complaint was seeing Cillian stuff, which was not from the movies, in the tag. It just sorta....clogs it up?
Anyway, I can clearly see you're not one of them. If some reason , within the next ten minutes, you're still blocked. Send me the url. I am human. I understand. Mistakes and stupid shit happens. (especially with all I am dealing with irl) (I've been so stressed I think it clouds my brain)
You clearly love the character behind the actor, and I respect that. I think you may have been following me, cus my count went down after I blocked ya. So yeah, I did think that was WEIRD.
I'm sorry if you felt lumped it, it was just an error on my part. I hope you can forgive that.
and ya know, just because I'm not a fan of nolancrane, doesn't mean it's bad. I should reiterate, it brought so many into the fandom. That's great! I still reblog fan content of him. I suppose, the truth of the matter is my autistic brain doesn't do "live action" -- I can't think of one human who could play Jonathan Crane to my expectations. Voice actors yes, Dino Andrade forever lmao
But I just...live of art/comic/animation/games
and anything else feels uncanny. Like now. I dont imagine Crane as a real person. I have no image inside my head unless it's a comic illustration or game render. I Hoooope that makes sense

Hi, I hope this isn’t a weird thing to say but as a Jonsa shipper, I really appreciate your criticism of Jonsa. I obviously don’t agree with those particular takes but it’s really refreshing to see someone with genuine good faith takes on why you don’t like the ship. Some of your anti-Jonsa takes actually gave me a lot of food for thought. So I just wanted to say thank you.
My goal was never to change anyone's minds who ships it, or really even tell them to consider another point of view. It mostly started with me making comments how I dislike it, when I started to get a lot of push back for it, when back then my opinion was simply "I don't ship that, the incest makes me uncomfortable."
So I ended up having to dig deeper to explain more of why, and that gave me more perspective on why i dislike it even more and I simply found the desire to express that. I think everyone has valid reasons for disliking ships and the right to explain why, but I also think everyone has the right to ship whatever they want for whatever reasons.
Personally disagreeing with why or why not we agree or don't agree on a ship is totally fine, because for everything I've said, I've never seen you act aggressive or unreasonable about those different opinions. We never went to the other trying to argue why you're or I am wrong, because at the end of the day, we just see it differently and we don't feel the need to argue about it, and thats what I enjoy.
I'm fine with people shipping it and I've heard people out for why they ship things I dislike as they've heard me out. I only point out where and why I disagree but I always say I get where they're coming from.
My issue was always specific parts of those shippers who insist it is canon and I am in the wrong for thinking otherwise, or I am blind and stupid or willingly ignoring things, when I simply don't see what they see. Which like, you heard my points out, and you don't see what I see, but that's okay. I've always made those posts targeted towards those people who come into my inbox on anon and get very rude and aggressive towards me about my posts, when I do tag them as anti posts, because I think if seeing those posts is that upseeting, I wouldn't want someone to read them. But they do, and they still come to me very angry about my own views and I just don't get it.
There's tons of ships in this series I dislike, but I get where people who do ship it are coming from. But, I think it's healthy to express why we dislike something as much as it is to express why we do like it. It's just a balance, and I've never had any issues with you being a jonsa shipper.
It's the mentality of, they disagree with me, and so they feel the need to come to me personally and argue with me that I'm wrong, when really, I make posts about why I dislike ships like jonsa, because I know other people who feel that way but don't want to make those posts, because it can attract negative attention. So I'm fine with making the posts, because I see the people who agree but maybe don't want to say it. It's why I don't go onto jonsa posts and disagree, because clearly those posts aren't made for me, so I have no reason to go to them with my complaints.
I like the idea of we all just make out own posts disagreeing, without personally attacking the other or going to their inbox on anon to argue when normally, none of us want to come here and argue.
Though, I'm glad you don't totally hate me for my posts because I do thoroughly enjoy your blog, and sometimes jonsas's can conflict my dislike for the ship, as me hating Sansa, and I'm always sitting here like "wait no", considering how often I can rewatch the early seasons and how much I love almost all of Sansa's Kings Landing scenes. Sometimes I also get called a jonerys shipper which is even worse, considering I talk down about that 90% more then jonsa.
Basically, its totally not weird you saying this, I'm just glad my posts haven't put you off completely, because I enjoy you and your posts quite a lot. I never aim to try and drive people away from my stuff, I just know sometimes I am more vocal about my dislikes then others, because I know the topics some people are a bit too nervous to post about, usually surrounding popular ships.
I don't want to attack the shippers personally, im mostly trying to just echo opinions I see other people too nervous to post, knowing the backlash can sometimes be a lot to handle. So, hopefully you havent felt that way, because personal attacks isnt my actual goal.
Sometimes I just sound that way, because despite being formal in my posts, I can also sound eccentric and inflammatory in the tags when that is usually just for exaggerated joking sake to offset the essay I usually just wrote.

It's been a while since I've posted any sort of character analysis, and I'm bored, so... here we are! I was mildly inspired by this post, but I've had the following on my mind especially since this video came up in my YouTube recommendations a while back.
Can we talk about how STUPID the chronal accelerator is? I hope that the Overwatch Declassified book sheds some more light on it, but I don't think the narrative teams across the franchise's lifespan ever really put much thought into it.
In Reflections, Lena wears her chronal accelerator out by zipping all over King's Row.
Notice how there's still a slight blue glow. So, does it have enough power to keep Lena anchored in time but not enough to let her control her "own personal timeline"? I honestly don't mind that as an aspect/caveat to the chronal accelerator. I promise I'll get back to this point.
In Alive, Lena uses her chronal accelerator to recall JUST before the bullet that killed Mondatta hit her.
One could argue that she anticipated Widowmaker's shot and got lucky. Still, this scene is set in slow motion. Is it purely to make it more dramatic, or does Lena perceive everything around her to be slower as she controls her own personal timeline? I think the latter would make her more interesting as a character, because it would mean that she had more than a split second to decide to dodge the bullet, only adding to her survivor's guilt.
Okay, deep breaths. We're treading into what I would argue are the most annoying portrayals of the chronal accelerator.
I'll get the first bit out of the way: London Calling has a lot wrong with it as a story. I've given my complaints on this blog before, but I'll give a recap. No offense to Mariko Tamaki, but her experience of writing for Marvel and DC comics is apparent. They tried to lean into the superhero aspect of "Tracer", and it misconstrues Lena as a character here and there.
As for the chronal accelerator, it starts electrocuting Lena after Widowmaker slams her into a wall at the end of Alive. After Lady's funeral, Lizzy follows Lena home and sees her being electrocuted half-to-death on the sidewalk, and they use parts sent by the one and only S. Paceape to repair it. Lena doesn't hear Winston's warning that the fix is temporary, and she blinks all the way to Iggy with no hiccups. Then, as she snatches Iggy from Kace, she says "Just need the chronal accelerator to hang in there for... got ya!" and it suddenly starts electrocuting her again. Obvious inconsistency there, as Lena shouldn't have known the chronal accelerator was about to electrocute her when it was most convenient for the plot, but why are THESE parts from Winston temporary? She gets them right after Mondatta's assassination, and she doesn't get electrocuted before then. She speaks about Winston as if they're not in regular contact, and Winston simply mails her parts on occasion.
Why did Babs Tarr draw her like this? Why is it that these parts are suddenly temporary? Winston would know that Lena uses her chronal accelerator REGULARLY. She prefers to use it over taking the tube, for example. All of a sudden, his parts can't handle a short walk to the Underworld? The writing did BOTH of them dirty in this comic. I can't lie.
Now, onto the thing that frustrates me the most: the Doomfist Origin Story. Remember my point about it being interesting concept for Lena to be able to slow down her perception of time? I feel like, with this origin story, they focused so much on portraying Akande as the cold and calculated warrior that he is that they made Tracer look ESPECIALLY inept.
It would've made more sense for Akande to study the fighting patterns of Genji. He very clearly dislikes Asa Yamagami in that one OW2 interaction he has with Genji. Surely, a light bulb would've gone off like "Ah, this cybernetic ninja fights quite like a student of Asa Yamagami. I might be able to predict his next move."
Time to bring this essay full circle! Remember my point about Reflections kind of implying an interesting concept of the chronal accelerator having just enough power to keep Lena anchored but not enough for her to control her own timeline?
Rewatch the Doomfist Origin Story. Seriously, look at how much Lena is blinking here. I think it would've been more fitting for Lena's character if her overconfidence led to her burning her chronal accelerator out and leaving her defenseless, frozen like a deer in headlights. It would also fit Akande's character, as he would know that Lena would eventually tire herself out (maybe not to the extent of her life support device giving up on her, but my point stills stands). Akande would still be able to destroy Lena's chronal accelerator, presuming that it would take her out of the fight for good, and the plot would move on the same way.
Now, I don't know how to end this, so I'm just going to say that Lena "Tracer" Oxton is my original character. I'm taking her from Blizzard's grasp. No one understands her like I do. 😔

Have another post from this Chiori-obsessed blog:
I've been looking into some of the criticisms people have of this character, since I'd been hearing things and I wanted to know if those concerns were really valid. Long story short: they are.
People are understandably upset about the nerfs she's been receiving. It's pretty frustrating when we get characters like Neuvillette who are insane monsters, but then the devs turn around and relentlessly scrutinize and tweak others, like Chiori.
Chiori was nowhere near as strong as Neuvillette is currently and she's seemingly getting hit with nerf after nerf. It really makes you wonder if HoYo is even trying to balance the game, or if they're just playing favorites. Which, needless to say, would be incredibly unfair. Or maybe they really are just that stupid and have no idea what they're doing. Hard to say.
Anyway, this is not a doompost; rather, it's an attempt at a rational analysis of what Chiori's shortcomings are and what they mean for her success as a unit. As I said, I find most criticisms of her kit to be valid, but that doesn't mean Chiori is weak. Far from it.
The general consensus is that Chiori is a stronger version of Albedo. She has pretty much the exact same role, but she deals more damage than Albedo does, and doesn't have to deal with the cringe of her primary source of damage being killed by bosses all the time. In this sense, Chiori is a perfectly good unit who has a place in the meta.
The primary complaint isn't Chiori's power level, it's her lack of flexibility and the fact that she's essentially a rehash of an existing character. People dislike that Albedo is being powercrept, and that Chiori wasn't given a more unique design that doesn't limit her to mono Geo teams. That's all very understandable.
Now for the actual nerfs: removal of DEF snapshotting for Chiori's dolls, and of course the decrease in the burst multiplier. Plus the changes made to her Constellation in earlier beta versions. Personally I don't think these nerfs change much, although removing Chiori's ability to snapshot was cringe and the burst damage nerf seems unwarranted. 30% reduction in damage dealt is a bit much if all they wanted to do was reduce her Energy needs and make C2 better.
HoYo going out of their way to nerf the output of Chiori, when her only real strength is being able to deal a lot of damage, feels a bit like a slap in the face. Especially when they're doing that instead of addressing some of Chiori's key issues, like the lack of AoE on her dolls' attacks, or the fact that she can't reposition them because of her skill's relatively long cooldown. Not to mention, once again, her team restrictions.
What this all means is that Chiori is not a particularly good pull if you're looking to add value to your account or just trying to 36-star the Abyssal Spire for the first time. She can be pretty strong for new players, due to her raw damage that will help you breeze through early-game content, but for the average invested F2P, she's not great.
But also: if you're willing to do what it takes to make her good, Chiori will be good. It's a matter of playing her in the right team and giving her enough investment to put in work for you. If, like me, you're undeterred by Chiori's blandness and limitations, don't worry about all the doomposting. You'll be able to make her work, she's not a bad character by any means.

msg and the end of the road
so many feelings, most of them mixed.
i love the thottest (not hottest) band in the world. i love the drama, the goofiness, the tragedy, the sheer unbridled capitalism, the homoeroticism, the utter stupidity. and i love most of all a version of the band that hasn't existed since i was ten years old.
i'm thirty-four.
i don't usually blog too much about my kiss experiences for a lot of reasons, one being that, oddly enough, it tends to feel a little too personal for a blog that's mostly shitposts and fanfic.
i enjoyed the nyc takeover/popup store (i'm not generally a merch person, but they had better designs overall than usual, including a great scarf that i'm sure is probably now up for hundreds on ebay)-- it was cool to see those kiss aspects on the street, on the metro cards, and on the empire state building. in person, i didn't feel it was quite as much of a takeover as was hyped, but that was to be expected in a city so gigantic and i have no complaints. it was cool just to have what was there, although i do wish i could've gotten a kiss cookie!
friday's show was pretty close up, which is always fun. i am basically always on stage left due to that being where paul will do his little ride to the b-stage. gene kept trying not to cry-- paul actually didn't seem that emotional. had a really lovely chat with the guy in the seat next to me (who was from the bronx) before the show started, about kiss and NYC in the seventies/eighties and today.
friday was not sold out.
second/last show was up quite a bit higher but was facing the stage-- overwhelming, not just from the emotions of it being the last show, and paul clearly doing the best he could, and gene clearly being about to cry the entire, entire time-- but also because i've just seldom gotten to see the whole stage from kiss before. the whole tableau out there is really fantastic. in all the times i've seen them, i had never even realized that paul's stage is lit up and has that star pattern before! i liked the somewhat cage effect going on during paul's b-stage bit.
i wasn't much for the interviews and so on beforehand-- criss angel in particular i wasn't a fan of. the part with the kids was okay. not really sure what was going on with the kiss kosplay aspect but all right. i had vague hopes that they would do a little 5-10 minute retrospective bit, taking the audience through some of their history, have clips, etc.-- would've been a cool touch. i had absolutely no real expectations of ace or peter (or anyone else that was formerly in kiss) actually being there, but thought a recorded greeting might be possible. i would have liked them at minimum to have been mentioned. (to really have gotten a full 50 years' perspective, all former members should have at least gotten a mention somewhere.)
"beth" got me a little emotional, but i was surprised at how by the end of the concert i wasn't as devastated as i'd expected. i guess i had come to terms with a world without kiss.
and then we, uh. well, we, uh, got the avatar announcement.
um.
yeah.
maybe it's my own fearful mortality peeking through, but i kept thinking of the theological idea of the eternal perspective. to me personally it goes a little deeper than "time is short, focus on the correct/most important aspects of your life;" an eternal perspective also is considerate of the aspects of others' lives. as i've gotten older, i've started to understand a lot of things i never did before, about other people, the way they viewed/handled things as opposed to the way i did, etc. the older i get, the more i see where i've consistently messed up, and where i've failed, or, at least, made a situation worse instead of better. and, maybe, sometimes, it's let me see that i need to let up and let go.
kiss owes no one anything. not a lineup, not a recording, not an experience (except one that's been paid for). their legacy is borne out of the blood, sweat and tears of ten members total, a half-dozen or more managers-- though all principal credit is due to bill aucoin-- brilliant producers, and hundreds of roadies, bodyguards, techs, costume designers, press agents, and so on who believed in them. but i would hate for the four beasties of rock and roll to never see each other again until one of them is covered up in flowers in the back of a black limousine, and sadly, this is looking more and more like this may be the case.
i am grateful for this band and the wonderful people it's caused me to meet and befriend (especially my dear friends that came with me, @hillsofuhhtennessee and @elrohare! we had the most incredible time!!), and how it's pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me broaden my horizons. i am grateful for the experiences and the memories. kiss has always been there for me in the very lowest times of my life, and my hope still is, that maybe someday, they could be there for each other and mend some fences before the real end of the road for all of them.

Hi Sarah
How are you?
After watching numerous live performances in Japan and outside of Japan, I have come to the realization that the Spacecraft worked hardly to ensure the success and fame of Kalafina. However, I have come to believe that the type of music performed by Kalafina may not appeal to everyone or align with the preferences of the Japanese people. As a result, my sentiments have shifted, and I now feel sense of respect and gratitude towards Spacecraft and their work over the 10 years. I believe that if they weren't good, Yuki Kajiura-san would not have remained with them for such a significant duration. It's important to note that these thoughts are solely based on my personal feelings and not backed by any research.
Hello there!
So sorry, it took a while to get to this message, I have been very busy lately.
I am good, thank you for asking😊 Hope you are doing well too!
Everyone who has been following my blog for a few years will know that I am probably one of Space Craft's biggest advocates. I've certainly had my complaints about them and I am by no means saying that they are without fault or the best agency out there but in the grand scheme of things, they have always done a decently good job at representing Yuki Kajiura, Kalafina and now Wakana. There have really been no public scandals that would warrant us deeming them a "horrible" or "bad" company. Once in a while, there are whispers of outlandish rumours but nothing so far has been substantial or even remotely incriminating.
Have they made stupid decisions? No doubt. Have they made big mistakes? Absolutely! Could they have handled the disbandment better? For sure! Would any Japanese talent agency have done a better job? No!
And that's the point. People need to realise that all Japanese talent agencies are cut from the same cloth. None of them are particularly great. Most are actually awful. A majority of them are run by middle-aged dudes who have been in the industry for way too long. Lots of fragile sensibilities and old-fashioned mindsets. Just look at the trajectory of Hikaru's solo career so far. It's a whole mess. But as long as you don't hear stories of exploitation or sexual harassment, I would say it's a win.
As you have surmised, there is no way that someone as strong-minded and assertive as Yuki Kajiura would have ever remained with them for such a long time if they were as horrible as many fans make them out to be. Wakana also wouldn't have chosen to stay with them if they didn't have some redeeming qualities.
And I will never get tired of emphasising the crucial role that Space Craft played in Kalafina's popularity. Say what you will but Space Craft built the "Kalafina" brand as we know it. It's correct that Kalafina's type of music isn't exactly mainstream so if it hadn't been for Space Craft's persistent marketing to push them in a more "mainstream" direction, Kalafina would not have been able to attract such a wide audience. The tons of merchandise, the frequent releases, the constant touring, the regular event appearances, the more elaborate stage productions, all of this helped catapult Kalafina to a Budokan level and beyond. They never took a full dive into the idol world but they certainly borrowed some methods. However, throughout all of this, Kalafina's core "image" remained intact, they allowed Yuki Kajiura free rein in terms of music and until the very end, the beautifully layered vocals were the main selling point for Kalafina. So yeah, even if it sounds weird to some people, at the end of the day I feel grateful to Space Craft.

So do you think the writing team was villanizing the critics through the curious cat seeing how they were the ones who basically went all meta in pointing out plot holes and other talking points critics have been bringing up for years only for him to turn out to be a villain in the end and he needed to be destroyed? Cuz I feel like they were doing that. At this point rooster teeth's writing is starting to feel a bit spiteful which is funny considering how much they hate Adam who embodied spite.
Personally, I don't think the comparison extends that far. Meaning, I don't believe this is a case of, "The Curious Cat represents critics and now look, those evil critics die!" because that's just too conspiratorial, there's too little connection between the Cat/the fandom, the Cat was clearly always meant to be the Volume's baddie no matter what throwaway lines they were given, the writing team has a HELL of a lot more to worry about than what a small pocket of people are saying online, etc.
Case in point: the Cat's observations aren't actually what fans have been criticizing for years, at least not in my experience. I go into this in more depth in my recap (which istg I'm writing! lol) but almost no one cares about the ~implications~ of Ozpin and Oscar sharing a body, Atlas floating is a bottom rung concern when it comes to how the Relics are used, and Ciel is likewise inconsequential compared to other characters who have been forgotten by the narrative (Sun, Ilia, Neptune, Maria, Tai, Glynda, etc.). The only thing the Cat says that feels like it's accurately representing criticism of RWBY is the observation that it's impossible to keep track of so many characters.
So yeah, I do think it's a general dig at the less optimistic pockets of the fandom. The Cat's language in that scene -- "Characters" people returning in a "Notable way" -- conveys an awareness of RWBY as a fictional story that they don't otherwise demonstrate. From an in-world perspective, the Cat is talking about real people whose world they want access to... yet for this one, strange exchange they function more as the creator's mouthpiece, poking fun at those who have criticized a fictional, WIP webseries. Of course, it's only really fun if you're a) of the opinion that RWBY is pretty much perfect or b) are still enjoying it enough to laugh off a self-aware acknowledgement of its many problems. A lot of fans aren't in either category, hence it comes across as a little spiteful at worst, simply ignorant at best.
Despite what anti-rwde folks would have you believe, that tiny corner of the fandom is not bombarding the creators with harassment and, as said, professional writers have a lot more to worry about than browsing through a handful of tumblr blogs and one subreddit. I truly doubt they're on the up-and-up about complaints. So I think the Cat's observations demonstrate that they're aware that criticism generally exists (as any creator would be), but they don't know enough to accurately write about what fans are criticizing. They've picked random things that they believe people might feasibly be up in arms about -- "Omg you made a man live with a child in his body! Having a floating city when 95% of the monsters in this show can't can't fly is so stupid! How dare you not bring back this one-line character from six Volumes ago!!" -- with, as my writing there demonstrates, perhaps a dash of deliberately choosing kinda absurd "criticisms" because the whole point of this moment is for the audience to laugh at the Cat's overly-enthusiastic concern. So do I think that moment is meant to be a fictionalized and generalized rolling-their-eyes-at-critics moment? Yeah. Do I think that extends to the Cat's narrative purpose as a whole and we should read them as the metaphorical critics reaching their deserved end? No. There's pretty much no basis for that.
It is still frustrating though, especially given Volume 9 as a whole. If you are unhappy with RWBY after a two year hiatus and are questioning this filler season, having one of the new characters imply how silly it is to be worried about dropped concepts and too many characters isn't going to be received very well, regardless of whether it's just intended to be a joke.

Is this stupid but I don’t understand when people are upset that others enjoy their posts like not shading you but isn’t that like a good thing
its not about the enjoyment, its about the attention. im glad people like my posts- *its not why i post but its a fun bonus- but i do not want the activity it generates. not only does it make your activity tab hard to navigate with all the buzz (making it easier to miss more important stuff like asks, comments, interaction from friends, or even the few good comments made on the post thats blowing up), but it makes it all the more likely that some random user with a chip on their shoulder and the worst takes imaginable will choose you at random to be their sworn enemy for the next 24-48 hours, sliding off the one post and bleeding into others- or even your inbox. also its just... a lot. a lot of noise and a lot of eyes all at once
*its not really a good or bad thing because of this; im not doing this for anyone but me. i have, would, and do (on side blogs) post to empty crowds with zero interaction for nothing but my own amusement, because for as far removed from the classic blogging game as tumblr now is that is what a blog is for and thats what i intend to use this site for till it drops off the face of the internet
maybe if i made some sort of high effort content instead of random text posts and edits for my own laughs id be more excited to get large amounts of engagement, but i dont, so im not. i acknowledge that im doing all this in "public" (as well as that i might have a slightly higher than average viewer base at my immediate attention), and i accept that any of my posts has the chance to suddenly spiral into popularity- but i dont have to like it. and this is my blog, that i use for me as stated above, which means if theres one place im gonna complain about it its gonna be here
like i said, i do like that people enjoy my "content," and i enjoy entertaining people immensely (again not the point but i do like it), but i dont enjoy every part of it
i assume everyone else with the same complaint probably feels the same way as me, more or less
#long reply bc im trying to genuinely explain. i understand why it might seem sorta counterintuitive or strange#mine#ask
