Mastering Common Leadership Styles for Optimal Results
Tumblr media
A leader’s leadership style is affected by many factors, including their personality, values, and skills.
Leadership styles also affect how leaders interact with their stakeholders, create strategies, implement plans and adapt to changes.
Most leaders will have a dominant style that they use most often.
Why should you know your leadership style?
It is important to understand your style of leadership as a leader. By understanding your style, you can determine its impact on the people you directly influence. You will be able to identify your strengths and decide which skills you should develop.
Some leaders can categorize and evaluate their style of leadership. But it's not always that clear. Sometimes, the answer isn't so obvious. While they may be able to identify their style, they often exhibit traits from different styles.
A detailed evaluation is an excellent way to learn about your leadership style. Asking for honest and open feedback from those you supervise is a good idea. You can then adapt your style of leadership to suit your daily duties.
1. Transformational Leadership
We have all been in situations when someone took control, communicated to the group, and created a shared vision. Develop bonds, inspire passion, and create unity. The person who does this will be considered a transformational leader.
This type of leadership can be very effective in organizations looking to make significant changes or transformations.
Leadership transformational has several characteristics.
Focus on the Future Leaders who are transformational always look ahead and think of what steps need to be taken in order to achieve the organization's goals.
They focus on change: Transformational leaders are aware that change is necessary for an organization's success and are comfortable doing so. Their followers must be able to adapt and cope with change.
Transformational leaders focus on their followers, and they see their potential. These leaders help their followers achieve their full potential through developing their strengths and capabilities.
2. Delegative Leadership
This style of leadership is one of the least intrusive.
This type of leadership is built on trust. This style of leadership is based on trust.
When team members accept responsibility and are competent in their work, it can be a good leadership strategy. However, delegation may cause conflict between team members and split or divide the group.
This leadership style needs to be reviewed.
3. Authoritative Leadership
It is important to distinguish between the authoritative style and authoritarian leadership. This style emphasizes the follow-me approach.
Leaders with authority often display leadership traits that motivate and inspire others. These leaders provide their teams with guidance, feedback, and motivation. This promotes the feeling of accomplishment or achievement.
A leader's ability to adapt to their team grows as they grow.
Micromanagement is not acceptable when leaders use an authoritative style. This type of leadership can be negative and too controlling.

4. Transnational Leadership
The transactional leadership style is also known as managerial leadership. The transactional style relies heavily on incentives, rewards, and punishments.
A leader can use this reward-based system to define clear goals and tasks. They must also specify the way their team is going to be rewarded for their efforts. Rewards come in a variety of forms. But they are typically financial compensations, such as a bonus or pay cheque.
"Give and Take" is a leadership style that focuses more on following existing routines, practices and procedures efficiently than implementing radical organizational change.
Transactional leadership outlines the roles and responsibilities for each employee. However, it can lead to decreasing returns when employees are aware of the value of their work. The company's goals must be aligned with incentives and gratitude.
5. Participative Leadership
Democratic leadership is another name for participatory leadership. It encourages leaders listen to employees and include them in the decision making process. This leadership style requires leaders to be inclusive, utilize good communication skills, and, crucially, be able to share power/responsibility.
A participatory style of leadership encourages accountability, collaboration and teamwork. Identifying and solving problems is usually a collaborative effort made by the entire team.
This style of leadership has been used by many leaders in the past. As the COVID-19 outbreak and the changing working habits (accelerated), have led to more decentralization, this style is more complex.
A participatory leadership style is often characterized as spontaneous, candid and open communication. It can be difficult to maintain this when working in virtual or remote teams.
Participatory leadership is a popular form of leadership that encourages employees to voice their opinions and to be empowered. It will show their importance to the team.
6. Servant Leadership
You should also set a good example and be aware of their goals. It is important to set an example and understand their goals.
Servant leadership involves ethical decision making. It is important to follow the servant leadership model because it encourages team members to share their ideas and work together.
Servant leadership can also improve communication, allowing leaders to avoid conflict by listening to the opinions of their subordinates. The leaders will maintain healthy relationships, a peaceful work environment and be able to listen to their subordinates' opinions.

illario as the grandchild that is most like caterina is something i'm loving to chew on. the grandson that took her lessons to heart the most. kill anyone who sees your face and knows your name, "we are not revolutionaries", the first out of the two to prioritise the contract. power at any cost, and the only one to lean into the unnecessary abuse that their grandmother told them was tradition. why is anyone surprised he allied with the venatori? and then there's illario's considerable skill in infiltration and manipulating any mark, he has always had the charisma that lucanis lacked. illario isn't attached, he has/can/will use someone and immediately drop them; "that does free me from promises i don't intend to keep". he can lie about how much he cares so well that he fools a magister into believing he loves her. he kills zara without hesitation to cover his own tracks, meanwhile lucanis blindly promises a young girl in the middle of a siege that he will help her find her father. even the lessons about family stick with him, and in this entire messy power struggle, he never actually orders anyone to directly kill caterina or lucanis, not until he's backed into a corner.
and even after all that. despite even lucanis believing illario should be first talon, lucanis is still the better killer. illario is not strong enough to be the brutal assassin caterina needs him to be. so when lucanis seems to fill the role his mother left, grief and love for her dead heir apparent remains, and any of the other qualities caterina needs in her next talon doesn't matter. whatever his mother was, lucanis has to be. what illario does doesn't matter, because he will always be second best to caterina's memory of her favored daughter.

Thank you all for voting in the poll to decide who was going to be the leader of the band! It turned out to be such a close race!
#poorly drawn mdzs#better drawn mdzs#mdzs#madam lan#A-qing#Band AU#(Reminder that Madam Lan's design inspiration goes to Qourmet!)#Madam Lan may have been the winner per vote count but there were so many strong advocates for A-Qing!#I played around with a few versions of what the 'poll winner' art was going to be and ultimately decided I wanted them both.#As any good theater love knows though - The battle for leadership was a ruse. They *all* get a chance to be featured.#Cooperation was the real end goal! However I do think these two have the best frontman energy of the group.#Or at least 'crowd favourite' energy. I also really loved hearing what people thought their vocal styles would be like!#This was probably one of my favourite polls to do and I love drawing these characters a lot B*)#I'd love to spend a bit more time in this AU so count on me bringing it back.#One thing I keep feeling like I need to redeem myself on is Madam Lan's Translucent skirt. I have *not* done the concept justice yet.#It is such a crack-platonic ship but I want to think Madam Lan and A-Qing would enjoy each other's company.#Possibly also with JYL as well. They can be like mutually beneficial therapy dogs to each other.#Madam Lan never got to see her kids grow up into teenagers after all. She only had sons. Never daughters.#Even if she saw her kids once a month we do know she treated them with so much love and kindness.#She would bite the shit out of YZY for yelling at JYL. What a sight to see. A-Qing would also start biting (for fun).

The Perfection of Fall-Fronted Flared Leather Breeches: Crafted to My Ruthless Demands
In my world, power is not just asserted—it is embodied in every aspect of my being, from the way I speak to the clothes I wear. My dominance is absolute, and there’s no room for compromise. My fall-fronted flared leather breeches, designed exclusively to meet my sadistic demands, are the ultimate expression of that control. These breeches aren’t simply garments—they are instruments of authority, designed to magnify my dominance over anyone and everyone in my presence.
A Design That Commands Obedience
Fall-fronted breeches are steeped in tradition—worn by men who commanded respect. But my breeches go beyond tradition. They are the very embodiment of my power, designed to ensure that I control not just the space around me, but every gaze that dares to look in my direction. The flare at the hips isn’t just for show—it’s there to emphasize my presence, to force others to recognize that they are beneath me.
The leather clings to my body, tight across my thighs and flaring just enough to add a sense of weight and authority. These breeches make it clear to everyone that I am in charge. Every step I take is an act of dominance, my presence undeniable and inescapable. The flare isn’t just a fashion choice—it’s a weapon, designed to draw attention to the raw power I exude.
The Fall Front: The Perfect Tool of Control
The true centerpiece of these breeches is the fall front. Crafted specifically to my demands, it is a masterpiece of control. It conceals just enough, leaving my audience to wonder how much more I could reveal if I chose. The fall front is tailored to perfection—wide enough to hide what lies beneath, but cut so precisely that it shifts with every step, offering tantalizing glimpses, like a cat playing with its prey.
This design wasn’t made for comfort—it was made for power. The fall front gives me the ability to expose or conceal as I see fit. When I open it, I do so on my terms, knowing that I control the moment, the space, and everyone in it. It’s not just about what lies behind the fall front; it’s about the knowledge that I can reveal it anytime I please, turning the act of exposure into an assertion of absolute dominance. You’ll never know when I’ll choose to open it—or why. And that’s the point.
The Cock Ring: Precision in Subjugation
Inside those leather breeches, everything is meticulously controlled, just like the people who fall under my command. My custom cock ring frames my genitals perfectly behind the fall front, ensuring that when I decide to reveal them, they are displayed with precision and purpose. The ring isn’t just an accessory—it’s an extension of my authority, emphasizing the perfection of what lies beneath the leather.
When the fall front opens, the cock ring ensures that my genitals are presented in the most controlled, dominant manner possible. There’s nothing casual about it. It’s calculated, a deliberate assertion of superiority over anyone who dares to look. I control the gaze. I control the exposure. And you, watching from below, are powerless to look away.
Leather as an Extension of My Control
The leather of these breeches is more than just material. It is an extension of myself, wrapping around my body like a second skin, reflecting the cruelty and authority that define me. The leather is polished to perfection, but make no mistake—it’s there to remind you of your place. Every time it creaks as I move, it’s a signal that you are in the presence of someone far superior to you.
These breeches aren’t designed for comfort—they’re designed for dominance. The leather is firm, hugging my body tightly, leaving no room for softness or weakness. They’re crafted to emphasize the control I have, not just over my own body, but over everyone who comes into contact with me. The polished surface catches the light, drawing the eye like a moth to a flame, but it’s not beauty you’re looking at—it’s power. Cold, relentless power.
A Ruthless Display of Dominance
These breeches are a statement—one that leaves no room for doubt. Every feature, from the flare at the hips to the fall front that just barely hides what lies beneath, is designed to make sure that I am the center of attention. There is no question of who holds the power when I walk into a room. The leather clings to my body, the fall front shifts ever so slightly, and I watch as eyes dart toward me, desperate for a glimpse of what’s hidden beneath.
But I decide what you get to see. I decide when to open the fall front, when to let you glimpse what lies behind. And every time I do, it’s a reminder that I am in control. Not you. Never you. These breeches were crafted to my sadistic demands, designed to reflect the ruthless dominance that defines every aspect of my being. Whether I choose to expose myself fully or leave you aching for more, one thing is certain—you are at my mercy.
Personal Comment from Sir Cedric
These breeches aren’t just clothing—they are instruments of control. Every inch of them is designed to remind you of your place beneath me. The fall front? That’s mine to open when I see fit, revealing exactly what I want, when I want, leaving you helpless to do anything but watch. The leather grips my body like my authority grips those around me—tight, unyielding, and completely inescapable. When you see me walking in these breeches, you will know immediately: I am in control, and you are nothing more than an afterthought.

Back from my birthday hiatus, and um, wow... was not expecting this kind of overwhelmingly positive reaction to a simple QRT about how we used Dissolve Mode in our BG paintings on Carol and the End of the World (see last image) - since people seemed to have enjoyed that so much, I thought I'd put all the pages of the Carol and the End of the World BG Paint style guide I drafted in one post! TBH I'd been meaning to do this for awhile but kept forgetting since I have it in a different folder than the BG paintings themselves... I believe all the paintings are mine and all the designs are by Alex Myung unless otherwise noted. I wrote this pretty early on pre-vis, so some of these guidelines got a little massaged during production, but the broad strokes are definitely still there! This wasn't the only style guide on the show BTW! A couple of our other leads Alex Myung and Kal Athannassov also put together a BG and Character Design style guide that are super cool - unfortunately I don't have the files myself (nor would I feel comfortable posting work that's not mine) nor do I think they've posted them yet, so if you two were looking for a sign to do so, this is it!! Now you have everything you need to paint like a Caroler - thanks for looking!! Showrunner: @dan-guterman Art direction: @ellemichalka

Based on a reddit comment and a convo with @turbulenthandholding - because the gears were turning.
There's something here. Carmy is shaped by the two women in his life - the comparison between Claire and Donna - but also influenced by Andrea and Sydney to lead with a gentle approach.
Something here about feminine leadership-based on empathy, intuition and collaboration.
It's not toxic masculinity - being a ' ball breaker' like Chef David.
Carmy desires for Sydney to push him the same way Chef Terry did.
But there's a complexity to that - because as Sydney said, she's not his babysitter. He also needs to push himself to be better - but with a gentle push, of course.

I don't know when, I don't know how, but Law is gonna join the straw hat fleet now that the Polar Tang is sunk. Probably Kid too but definitely Law.
My ideal would the Hearts creating a subsect of the Staw Hat Fleet that's essentially like an ambulance for the rest of the Fleet. Luffy is never going to run the Fleet like a well oiled machine, I think it'll ultimately just become a guerilla force for chaos and freedom that's loosely aligned, so appointing Commanders within it he can trust to do the right thing will be essential. And Law has been set up to be that.

Not to get lost in the narratives and such, but I think it's a wild thing to take a young player with fire in his belly who will be the first to admit that he was never even the best player in his junior teams made it to the NHL it's because he clawed his way thru via any means necessary, and to tell him, I want you to look at this example of all things beautiful about hockey, and do everything exactly as he does it.
And how all of that, instead of breeding resentment can turn into devotion. I'm thinking of faith and how Bergy will be the first to talk about all the ways in which Marchy made his game better, of two people who pushed and balanced and completed each other, who worked so well because they were so different in so many ways, two people who would suck at being each other. And what happens when, you say now you take over. Now you lead, on your own.
And I guess I'm also thinking of that 22 year old with a chip on his shoulder who was told: you will never be the best player on ice as long as he is on the ice, so I want you to be second best.

you can't be a good leader, let alone an ultimate-level one, if you can't work with people or connect with them on a personal level? DICE are referred to as 'friends bordering on family' for a reason. just because he doesn't do that in game doesn't mean it's like 'oil and water'/something he's fundamentally incapable of
I meant that he's like that *in the game specifically*. Of course he's close to DICE, or else they wouldn't've been in his motive video. Hell, outside of the killing game he probably would've worked just the same with the other v3s. Its just the situation that he's in that has him acting on edge and paranoid, pushing the others away do better do what he wants in what he thinks is for their own good. And so he eschews collaboration in favour of trying to pull the strings from outside to best "lead" the others through the killing game as much as possible.

one one hand, I kinda see why all the other classes would make their jack ace and al jeannes their class leader. like, if you were a univeil student, I can see the student logic of going, "yeah this guy knows how to put on a good performance, let's make him the leader!"
but in hindsight... that's such a bad decision?? like, imagine as the lead performer, you have to be in charge of both the performance and the class. that's too much responsibility! instead of focusing on delivering on stage, you now have to split your attention with everyone else's roles. not even takarazuka does this. the top star and kumichou are usually not the same person. so I would assume that's also how the tamasaka troupe works. univeil students what are you doing lmao
I think one of the reasons why quartz works is because neji isn't the lead performer. he writes, he directs, he acts, he dances, he sings, but he's not the main lead. by taking on responsibility for the backstage work (except for props/tech/etc.), fumi/kai/kisa/whoever can focus on their own craft as performers.
like. how is kaido leading onyx while also being the jack ace? how is he getting and working on feedback? I could say the same for tsukasa, but at least tsukasa has minorikawa doing a lot of the heavy lifting. amber is kind of a special case, I guess, because they all want chui to be the stage. but honestly if chui was a better leader, amber wouldn't have to be this way lmao. like, chui is great but he's holding amber back, sorry to say. they could do so much more than this
(hm I guess the teachers in other classes are more hands-on and provide more guidance and support than enishi, so they can get away with lead performers being class leaders)
I was thinking about this because I was imagining what kisa's year two in univeil would be like. the next class leaders are gonna be mitsuki, sugachi, and minorikawa, right? and all three of them tend to step back to let other people shine or to play support, so I actually think they're very logical choices for the next class leaders. plus that would probably be the year chui would try to like. make friends and human connections. so I'm just imagining that year two would be quite healing for univeil, especially since in year one they are all still kinda hung up on tsuki being univeil's treasure. you can have other treasures!! love tsuki, but he isn't the only golden boy here!!

Janeway in 'Nothing Human' vs Tuvok in 'Resolutions' There's something here I know there is I can almost wrap my teeth around it.
#I can't watch Nothing Human bc the puppet really disconcerts me#but I cannot believe Janeway really came into B'Elanna's room after all that and the FIRST thing she says...her OPENER is#'Wow it smells awful in here~!'#DUDE....................TIME AND PLACE#HEHEHHE#C'MON MAN#B'Elanna: Is [putting it behind us] an order? / Janeway [normal!]: Yes.#'And what emotion is that?' C'MON MAN!!!!!!#Janeway & Tuvok#Kathryn Janeway#Tuvok#I can see why she and Tuvok are friends#'I understand you're upset but fall in line'#You can be upset but not if effects your work#<- Something which would be fine on a regular ship but is very difficult on Voyager#I think Janeway's certain coldness or ruthlessness which can be aimed at either friend or foe is an interesting#aspect of her personality#Ex: She and B'Elanna COULD have feasibly had a more touching scene together to close out the episode but they don't#I don't know if I'm explaining myself well right now I'm a bit ill and more than a bit tired#Something about uhh maybe....people under their command vehemently and emotionally disagreeing with them/their decisions??#you can disagree with me but not if you don't follow me anyway#Voyager a ship full of contradictions#they have to all work together and they are all closer emotionally than any other starship due to their situation#but they are also still 'at work' and are expected to follow orders. It's like a 'casual' hierarchy but it's still a hierarchy#and you can't fall too far out of line bc you're someone dear to me#but you're also a valued cog in the machine#and even though you ARE valued you ARE still a cog in the machine#but you're also my dear friend. and all of these things are true at once.#all of that of course but also Janeway & Tuvok are displaying a very particular kind of shared leadership style in these moments#Janeway is obviously on the whole MUUUCH more charismatic and understanding than Tuvok but still - when push comes to shove...

A Symbolic Duel of the Skies
When it comes to iconic aircraft, two names soar above the rest: Air Force One, the official aircraft of the sitting U.S. president, and Trump Force One, the private Boeing 757 jet owned by Donald Trump. While one symbolizes the institutional power of the United States government, the other epitomizes the flair and individuality of a man who thrives on spectacle. Let’s delve into the differences, similarities, and the symbolic weight each carries.
Tumblr media
Air Force One: The Flying White House
Air Force One isn’t just an airplane—it’s a fortress in the sky. Operated by the U.S. Air Force, this customized Boeing 747 (VC-25) represents the full might of the federal government. Equipped with advanced defense systems, encrypted communications, and the ability to refuel midair, it ensures that the president can command the country even in the most turbulent times.
Beyond its military-grade specifications, the interiors are functional yet dignified: a medical suite, offices, conference rooms, and a space for press briefings. The blue and white livery, designed during JFK’s administration, projects a timeless elegance. Every flight embodies the continuity of American democracy.
Trump Force One: A Flying Statement
In contrast, Trump Force One is unabashedly personal and extravagant. This Boeing 757, emblazoned with the Trump name in gold, is less about function and more about flair. The interiors include 24-karat gold seatbelt buckles, leather seating, and a private bedroom. If Air Force One is a symbol of collective power, Trump Force One is a testament to individual ambition.
The jet made headlines during Trump’s 2016 campaign, often serving as a backdrop for rallies. It became a potent visual tool, reinforcing his outsider status and business success. After a hiatus during his presidency, the jet has recently been refurbished, signaling its owner’s ongoing political ambitions.
Technology and Capability: A Tale of Two Standards
Air Force One: Unparalleled security and cutting-edge technology make it the most sophisticated aircraft in the world. It’s EMP-hardened, armed with countermeasures against missile threats, and capable of functioning as a command center during national emergencies.
Trump Force One: While luxurious, it lacks the defensive and operational capabilities of Air Force One. Its primary purpose is comfort and style, with no pretensions of handling global crises.
Symbolism: National Power vs. Personal Branding
Air Force One transcends politics, representing the presidency itself regardless of who occupies the office. It is steeped in tradition and is a reminder of the gravity of the role it serves.
Trump Force One, on the other hand, is the embodiment of Donald Trump’s personal brand. It’s loud, unapologetic, and designed to command attention—whether on a runway or in the political arena.
Which Reigns Supreme?
Comparing Trump Force One and Air Force One is like comparing apples and oranges. One is a utilitarian marvel of government power; the other, a luxury jet tailored to a billionaire’s tastes. Both, however, reflect the man who commands them: the sitting president flies Air Force One as a steward of the nation, while Trump Force One is a vehicle for a businessman-turned-politician who thrives on the spectacle.
What’s fascinating is how these aircraft have become symbols of two very different approaches to leadership. Air Force One speaks to duty and decorum, while Trump Force One projects confidence and charisma. Together, they encapsulate the tensions and contrasts in American political life today.

I find it interesting actually that Mason is the only Coven Head present at the convention episode in season 1 (I assume he is already a Coven Head because he is on the banner in a later episode).
He seems quite stoic and unbothered by being tossed around too. So this might point towards some characterization - maybe he actually cares enough to show up unlike the others, and he isn't a type to throw a fit over a member of the public bothering him and thus might be less drunk on the power.
[my personal headcanon is that he cares about the members of his coven and has teaching tendencies, but isn't very sharp when it comes to the politics, and he had never expected to get raised that high, so he doesn't question the decisions around him and finds his new role disorienting]
