30|10|2024
Today was an organizing and planning day. I spent the entire day writing down lists of materials, downloading stuff and getting it on my tablet so I can read and annotated it more easily. Now I really have a good idea of how much I have to do to study for these exams. I also sent the last couple of emails to professors to make sure I have the right materials. I am still not sure whether I'll be able to take two or three exams, but it's okay, now I plan on doing as much as I can without burning myself out, and then when the exam dates are released I'll plan out how the exam season will be. The goal for November is to finish all the materials for my history of the Sabaudian states course, I'd like to do that in a week and a half at most, and then do as much as I can for another course called "spaces and places of knowledge: history, landscapes, contexts". For this last class I have about twelve recordings, and 8 articles. It's going to be intense but I think I can manage to get more than half of the material done before the end of next month. If the recorded lectures aren't too intense I could get them done in about a week, and then I feel like most articles will be quite easy to read and annotate. We'll see. I still haven't decided if I want to post an accountability list of everything I must do, but since they always work quite well I might post it one of these days.
productivity list:
read first thing in the morning
emailed a professor and made sure I can take the exam and that my materials are okay
organized the materials a uni friend kidly gave me (basically he printed out all the articles for an exam when he had to study for it, and then lent me all the photocopies)
wrote down detailed lists of all the materials I have to study for for three classes (I am prioritizing two at the moment but I also included an additional one in case I make progress quicker than planned)
planned the few things I want to get done before this week ends
downloaded all the online materials I could find and got them on my tablet
made a very handy and organized "study pile" to keep near my desk so I have all the physical materials near me (this includes, books, photocopies, and notebooks)

years in planners
Found my old Hobonichi Techo and decided to scan my favourite pages from the last 3 years in planners. From my third year of uni till the last one, 2021-2023. Starting with my 2021 bullet journal and ending on this year’s planner/filofax

i got hobonichi dupes!! kinbor weekly a6 (pink) and kinbor daily a5 (black)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this week's spread at the beginning of the week vs after last night! it's messier than id like but i think that's the realistic part of having a planner that's used everyday.
as badly as i want a hobonichi from everything ive been seeing online, i couldn't justify the price in the event that i.... didnt actually use it. however the kinbor techos are almost the same setup and only cost $10-20 each rather than $40-80 😭 so if it goes well, then maybe i will allow myself to invest in a hobonichi next year. the weekly is for schedule/to-do/planning and the daily is for journaling and documenting my every day :]
i've been recovering from the brutal fall semester of MS2 😭 and now we're straight back into the new spring term. i have my STEP 1 date now April 7 !! and i'm panicking and nervous 😬 cuz the practice test yesterday was Brutal. now i'm not sure if taking it at the beginning of dedicated is worth it. 😭 i'm gonna do a social media detox/cleanse and delete most things off my phone until i take STEP. my u🌏 app is about to become my most used and my best friend. i will try to be more active for accountability's sake but if i cannot post on here, i shall use my friends to hold me accountable haha. that's all my updates for now. 🫡

I have been using my bullet journal less and less in the past year, because I simply didn't have the energies to keep up with it. With over half a journal empty I decided not to give up on it, and go back to my roots of using it to organize things in a way that should be efficient and not necessarly pretty or tidy. I made a simple header for the year, wrote down my little calendars to use as a reference when I need them, and then worked on a general February spread as well as a specific one in which I organized the materials I'll need to work on for my next exam. Will I plan things weekly and use to do lists like I used to? I have no idea. I will keep the journal on my desk and use it when I need to organize stuff and embrace the chaos of it. Maybe the monthly page will be enough to write down appointments and general things I have to get done, maybe not. I don't really care, it's there to be useful and will probably get messy and it's fine by me. I don't want to spend money on an agenda or something if I can avoid it, so let's see if going back to a less structured use of this journal is the way to go.
