Some recent happies ☺️
10/7/23
✨ my friend brought me back some super cute pens (they’re erasable!?? I didn’t realize that until a few days of using them lol) from a recent trip she went on and it is sometimes the most simple, small things that mean the most. I LOVE the cat and dinosaur! The elephant and shark are amazing too! I have a soft spot for cats and Dino’s though haha
✨ picked up a new journal this past week too as I just finished my old journal I had throughout treatment!
✨ spent this past week decorating my work office for Halloween!! Howie the skeleton is a fan fave (I love him too!!) and so I got 15 mini little Howie skeletons and hid them around the office lol!
✨ getting back into running after almost a year off has been humbling.. but also so so great! I am doing a training plan atm and so today was a 5 mile run, and it was so nice! It’s still hot af.. but at least it’s looking like fall with the leaves changing 🤷🏻♀️
✨ came home and did 30 minutes of vinyasa yoga, then journaled for a while, and then lit my new candle I got from my friend for a gift a few weeks ago and omg it smells AMAZING!! Had that burning while friends was playing in the background while I did a big bedroom cleanup! Felt so so productive today!
✨ in an hour and a half I will leave to dog sit from 5:30- midnight. And that will be my day today!
✨ tomorrow I’m going to go on a short 2 mile shakeout, followed by some strength training and prob a peloton class. Then chill for the day before the week begins again 🙃
✨ super excited though bc next weekend i am reliving the eras tour at the movies lol! I’m going with my friend who I went to the concert with back in July so we are reliving the best concert ever haha! So stoked!

Reason I'm sharing this is because I did lose about 10 pounds this year and I think it's important to be transparent about what health journeys can look like. We are often lied to about what 'losing 10 pounds' looks like.
Full disclosure- I do notice that the angle of the camera is higher. I'm wearing different makeup. My face is turned a different direction. These things do affect our perception of a persons body. But the important thing is that I felt cute that day, and I made myself feel cute today. That and... same outfit, same location, same lighting.
Major factors in my health journey: I quit my very stressful job in 2021 and i think my body is adjusting to less frequent stress. I started taking dance classes and dancing more. Spending more time doing social things with people. Stretching 3 times a week before bed. Trying to drink more water.
I still eat too much fast food and sugar. I'm working on it, but theres not that many options when I'm on the road for work, and if my choices are something that's bad for me and nothing, I'd rather take the food that's bad for me.
So the differences are kind of subtle. I think you can see a little less inflammation in my face and neck and my redness has more or less evened out (I'm not getting rid of that, it's just not happening).
The most dramatic changes are probably at my waist, but for a very long time I did not take pictures of myself below the bust and... you know... I dont think that's important right now.
I've had a very stressful week and my face is still puffy from that. But even so, I think that this is an improvement on last years overall swelling.
Even though I feel like shit due to a few stressful factors and the fact that I'm recovering from a cold, I think I am feeling much better than I did when I was under the daily stress.
Hoping this is a sign of a good trend in my life. Maybe next year I wont have a cold when I do this.

I have some of the best people in my life right now 🥹😊
I am currently a temp-to-hire worker at the company I am at, and because of that, I am not actually employed by said company but rather through the recruiting agency I work through.
The official employees at the company get holiday bonuses as part of their salary. A few weeks ago my manager told me that I don’t technically qualify for that because, again not hired through them. Which is TOTALLY fine and understandable! I had zero hard feelings about it whatsoever!
Well today I come in to work (it’s our last day before a week off 🙌) and there is a christmas gift bag on my desk. In it is a card that says how since I can’t get an official holiday bonus my team mates (I am on the peoples team at a tech company) pooled together some of their own holiday bonus money to get me a “little something.”
I open it and they got me a freaking NINTENDO SWITCH OLED!!!!!! I bring my switch to work most days and play on half my lunch break. I socialize and eat with people for 30 minutes, and then spend other 30 winding down/decompressing usually either via switch or reading. My coworkers know i’m really introverted and i love getting to know them but it can also overwhelm me and they respect and appreciate that more than I thought they’d get.
So they bought me the newest version of the switch, plus the GREATEST Evee controllers 🥹😭 i’ve ever seen!!
And then on top of that one of my coworkers i’ve become friends with also gave me a separate gift from just her with a bunch of self-care items and i am just so so happy and grateful and on cloud nine.
Coming from my Peet’s Coffee job to this is incredible. Peet’s was a company that gave zero shits about you as a human and going from a big corporate hell-like company to a smaller, but very successful, start up who values every single person so so much, is an indescribable feeling...
While I know I don’t want to be in tech forever, I never planned on this route, I am so grateful I am here now to experience everything I am, even if only for a finite amount of time.
So, so grateful and feel so much love and just warmth from this place and these people. ❤️ At a loss for words tbh!
