Why do I suddenly feel inspired to write something related to this……as if I don’t have enough projects on my plate 😆

I hate Picasso but this reminds me heavily of the whole "kids have something while creating that adults don't". How it's important that Batman's arguably doomed and idealistic quest was born of a kid's loss and desire to fix things and then you see this.

With the addition of House of Hush today, I have finally completed my main series collection for Dick as Batman! I'm still missing some other (more minor) story lines, but very happy with this so far <3

Damian takes pride in the things he makes. He just wishes people would stop making such ridiculous assumptions about his reasons.
For @razielim's fandom homework assignment: "Depict your blorbo(s)in the act of writing or drawing."
Always get your homework done early, kids.

Donation Writing
Inspired by @spnyuri's amazing work, I'm offering 100 words per dollar donated to one of the Palestinian families represented in , or one of these organizations:
Operation Olive Branch
Sudanese American Physicians' Organization
Crips for eSims for Gaza
Action Kivu (DRC)
PCRF
Help Sudan Tarada Initiative
You can DM or askbox proof of donations (with names blacked out) with your prompt.
I'm in an Avatar (movies) phrase rn, but have also written for TMNT and DC, along with a long list of other fandoms and original work (you can see my writing and on ao3 here, I'll put as many of the fandoms I've written for in the tags as I can) If you've got a fandom not on the list send me a description of characters and I'll se what I can do.
I don't have any personal limits on dead dove stuff (as long as the recipient isn't a minor), but I will also happily write gen. Thank you for reading!
Tagging some people who might be interested--if you've already donated and/or can't donate, please consider spreading this around!
@mayfriend @kayjaydee17 @bl00dw1tch @ibenholt @midnight1404 @freshairforrabbits @crow-dog @taishenkai @alcorian @honeyhobi @makitesuli @pleasesendfrogs @birdgeon
Edit: I've already gotten proof of multiple donations because of this and I am so grateful.

Broke: Thomas and Martha Wayne are just callous rich assholes who probably deserved to get shot.
Woke: Thomas was a doctor who believed in saving lives indiscriminately, even saved the life of a mobster* named out of his own choice. He was spoiled in his younger years but became more responsible after meeting Martha**. Martha was a social worker, anti-child porn activist***, who grew up poor and whose father had been cheated out of his money by guys like Judson Pierce**.
Despite their wealth the two were socially conscious and instilled those values into a young Bruce Wayne. Hence Bruce's no kill rule and why he believes in reforming his villains. Part of Bruce's conflict is his need for vengeance coupled by the humanitarian values instilled in him by his parents.
For stories involving the Waynes as people:
*Detective Comics #235, Batman #591. ** Streets of Gotham 'House of Hush' #14-21. *** Batman Ultimate Evil.
Other Batman stories involving the Waynes: The Long Halloween, Batman: Family (2002), Batman: Haunted Knight, Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?,

I just finished reading Batman: Streets of Gotham and I have thoughts…….
SPOILERS AHEAD!
Tumblr media
FYI: I read issues 1-21.
Copied/pasted from my goodreads account:
Some context here: I never bothered to read much of the Batman stories that came out after Final Crisis, the era of Dick Grayson as Batman. Yes I can already feel the people sharpening their pitchforks. “You can’t call yourself a Batman fan and not read those stories!” Yeah whatever come at me bro. I’ll read whatever I damn well please!
The reason I never read much of those comics was because at the time I had a really wierd hang up of not liking seeing anyone else as Batman. Bruce will always be Batman to me so back then it was just me being stubborn and not accepting the fact that other characters are capable of taking up the mantle. My knowledge of that era was limited to Final Crisis, The Return of Bruce Wayne and Batman RIP. I had to wiki some stuff to get a refresher but I was able to jump into Streets of Gotham just fine.
SoG is technically my first time reading Dick and Damien as Batman and Robin. I was hoping to get some more insight into how their relationship had been during this time. You do get some of that here but it’s not much. Morrison’ a Batman & Robin run will probably give me more of that but we get small glimpses here. Damien is very much rough around the edges and Dick is there to keep a steady hand. I also love how no one really noticed anything different when it came to Batman. Everything was business as usual lol.
I was hoping the House of Hush stuff would last more than 6 issues but I liked the story overall. I don’t know if it’s because I just finished reading Batman: Resurrection, but I can’t help but think of the similarities between Hush and Hugo Strange. Both have obsessions with Batman and Bruce Wayne and they’re both doctors. Also I guess it’s confirmed that Joker had been SA’d when he was a kid. Him killing his abuser is great of course but the fact that it’s not brought up again is very odd. I don’t understand writing something like that (WHICH IS A BIG DEAL) in one issue and then just never bringing it up again. It’s pretty much done for shock value it seems. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it mentioned again in other comics.
One thing that was confusing was going from issue 16 to 17 and suddenly Bruce is back. It would’ve been nice to have some kind of explanation to the reader as to the when/where/why of his sudden reappearance but a quick google search can fix that. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I might be tempted to go back and read other Dick Grayson!Batman comics. Black Mirror comes to mind.

So Bruce is a maximum of 37 yrs old here (if he was conceived before the initial incarceration and born after) but is implied to be younger.
Truly hilarious implications about when he took in dick considering dick is still 20+ and able to pass decently well as Batman (streets of Gotham #16-17)
