wait i've been rotating an original fiction idea. hear me out it's 80% things i came up with for fandom reasons
the main character is just lady han solo. i have been calling her hana duo in my head and randomly laughing over it. she swaggers around pretending to be cool but-- and this is very important-- she's A Loser. she's a petty criminal and comes with a sassy robot
one day hana is stealing an alien tree (link is literally a star wars fic premise i came up with for an ask meme). while she's planetside having a Bad Time, local evil space empire's favorite assassin boards her ship. not 100% sure why yet-- maybe she had some checkered past that's catching up with her; maybe she's pisse doff the wrong person. who knows. but he's here to kill her
the empire assassin character is scifi minato knock off character but retooled from whatever i posted before. i decided i wanted to sort of play around with the "sexy green pheromone alien" trope but it's a man so i'm very clever. his species is a brood parasite, so they're incredibly good at mimicking chemical scents. also maybe he has minor shape shifting abilities? pheromones don't work on humans but he has a Complex about wanting to be liked by everyone so he intentionally looks like a mostly human hot person.
the stolen tree introduces some sort of Biological Weirdness so they end up stuck together, and they kidnap a low budget scientist to solve their problem. low budget scientist is disgraced and can no longer work in academy, for fraud. she also fulfills the "kooky alien biology" trope. i'm still rotating what she physically looks like, but i'm basing her on tardigrades & bdelloid rotiers!!! she can shrivel up and survive the vacuum of space. her species reproduces entirely clonally. she is filled with random chunks of stolen DNA (her: technically i'm 17% human--)
together, they're the worst people you've ever met....!

General Grevious
Sleeper agent phrase activated.
Favorite thing about them
Fucking. Everything? I adore robots and he's a cyborg. I adore aliens and he's an alien. I love characters with four arms and guess what. On aesthetics alone he's gorgeous to me. He's been my fav character in star wars ever since I saw him in the movies, and He's been probably one of my top favorite character since then as well. Disclaimer, but I like the Legends backstory for him so much more so I usually default to that when talking about him. His backstory??? MWAH. MAGNIFICENT. STUNNING. POETIC. LIED TO AND USED ALL OF HIS LIFE? He thinks always that he is doing what is best for his people. He lost his literal other half in the war, his true soulmate to slavers of his people, swept into the sea. He changed his name to grievous to let his grief be known to all of his enemies??? My fucking GOD. He was a demigod among his people. He is a canon polyamourous king who has several wives and sired many children. He was a strategic mastermind and sought out by the sith for his genius. His hatred of the jedi was falsely implanted in him by sith interference. He thinks that the jedi are to blame for his cyborg body when it was the sith all along. Fuck man. I couldn't write a better character if I tried, and I have. Literally a character so doomed by the narrative that he is the epitome of tragedy to me.
Least favorite thing about them
I understand why he has to lose a lot, because the primary message of star wars is that good always triumphs over evil. The light will always beat the dark. I get that. I just dislike how he seems to lose in ways that are embarrassing? Anytime he loses it seems to be in an almost childish way that's unbecoming of him. It's why my favorite rivals for him are Obi Wan or Kit Fisto. Both of them are incredibly intelligent jedi masters that use strategy and his own ego against him, which make the times he is defeated against them more satisfying than other times.
Favorite line
Jedi. You are surrounded. Your army is decimated. Make peace with the force, now. For this is your final hour. But know that I, General Grievous, am not completely without mercy. I will grant you a warrior's death. Prepare! (followed by one of the sickest fucking lightsaber fights ever)
brOTP
Hard to answer. He doesn't have many friends. I wouldn't consider them friends exactly but his bickering with Asajj Ventress is always a treat.
OTP
I've dabbled in almost every grievous ship I can think of. I can't say I prefer one more than the others enough to make it an OTP. Some of my favs are obigrievous, asajj x grievous, Ronderu x Grievous, and dooku x grievous. TECHNICALLY one of my favorite ships features an original character from a fic I've read. Fanfic writers who make compelling and engaging OCs for their fics are amazing *wink wink nudge nudge at the person who sent this.*
nOTP
None I can think of.
Random headcanon
The Kaleesh are a reptilian species in general, that will not stop me from giving him some cat-isms. What if he purrs. What if his eyes get big when he sees something he likes. What if he likes scenting things. What if he bellows like a crocodile. What if he chuffs like a tiger. Shut up.
unpopular opinion
I already stated this, but I prefer his Legends backstory over his canon one. I've come around to not hating his canon one as much as I used to, but I still prefer the other.
song i associate with them
Literally I cannot think of one. I am a failure. A sham. A facsimile of my former self.
favorite picture of them
All of them, but this has been my discord icon forever. I have no clue who drew it but it was part of a doodle page here on tumblr and for the life of me I cannot find the original artist.

Here is an post of one of my OCs Saturnia! Full Description of her is below!
Saturnia
Full Name: Saturnia
Nicknames: Nia, Our Outer Space Friend, Alien Girl, Adonia (Human guise)
Gender: Female
Species: Alien (Stellaxian)
Body Type: Tall, Curvy, Slightly medium hips
Hair Color: Blue with purple accents
Eye Color: Black with stars on each opposite side.
Age: 15 (Earth age), 150 (True Age)
Height: 174.08 cm
Sexuality: ???
Occupation: None
Homeland: Lives in a planet that looks like Saturn, but is more blue-greenish. It is called Stellaxia.
Birthday: June 17th
Family: Titanio (Father), Narvia (Mother; deceased)
Favorite Color: Purple and Blue
Favorite Food: Eats about anything, but mostly likes ice cream, hamburgers, salads, and cookies.
Likes: Learning about Earth, stars, space, boba tea (especially the galaxy one), grape soda, literature (especially the sci-fi ones), sampling cuisines, going on adventures with her friends, sci-fi shows and movies on Earth, cooking, space music, butterflies and moths, inventions, the planet Saturn
Dislikes: Her father upset, wars, invasions, praying mantises, her inventions failing, seeing the Earth or her planet in harm or threatened, eating expired food, awful sounds or smells, someone stepping on her tail, flies, cockroaches, anyone insulting the things she loves
Fears: Losing her friends or her father, losing her home planet or the Earth, cockroaches, wars (The last war back from her planet traumatized her), becoming evil, dissection (she had learned what humans would do to other aliens if they were caught, although that doesn’t stop her from making friends with or protecting humans.)
Personality: Kind, helpful, highly intelligent, curious, loves to learn, loyal, faithful
Powers: High Intelligence (She is an alien after all), can sense with her antennas, and stomach any food, even raw ones (except for expired or real old food), skilled inventor, can change her language
Facts: -Saturnia shares her love of space like my other OC Itsuki/Galaxy Girl.
-Despite having a big liking for Earth, her favorite planet is Saturn because of its rings.
-Her mother, Narvia, died from an unknown illness when she was seven years old.
- She came to Earth to learn more about it after learning it also has life like her planet.
-She likes to tie her hair into buns because they look like planets.
- She rides on a U.F.O her other alien friend Millete and their families made for her on her 13th birthday.
-While she loves her father Titanio, she is a bit uncomfortable about his overprotectiveness after her mother’s death.
- She has a GINORMOUS appetite, can eat any food, even raw ones. Her kind has two stomachs with strong acid to digest their food more, and they can eat up to 9 million calories. Despite their crazy appetites, they have no hunger pains or the need to feel hunger, so they can hold on to their appetites easily. However, she cannot stomach expired foods, she tried a can of tuna that was 10 years old and ended up throwing it back up into a gross, greenish, slightly digested mess.
-She shares her love of stars and space from her late mother.
-Saturnia has an old star-alien-bunny plushie her late mother made for her when she was a baby. She still holds on to it to keep her close to her. She named it “Mr. Starbun”.
-Being a highly intelligent alien, she is very skilled at inventing, she has made lasers and galactic weapons for defense. Despite being intelligent, she still needs to learn more about some stuff more on Earth, such as trying to learn how things on Earth works.
- She does not enjoy having her tail stepped on, it is very sensitive. Her kind’s tails also have a nerve that is connected to their spines and their brains.
- She is terrified of wars, it was back when her kind was on a brutal war with another species from another planet, she was young back then, the sight of dead corpses of the species and hers, as well as the blood splattered across her face from one being killed and the thought of her family suffering the same fate had left her a crying, traumatized mess. Her father and her family managed to help her recover after the war, but she had never forgotten about the horrible war.
-She is against alien invasions as well, she believes that planets are meant to be learned and discovered, not invaded and conquered. As such she will defend the Earth and her home planet from evil alien conquerors with her spaceship.
-She can feel senses with her antennas, she doesn’t have a nose so she can sense smell with her antennas as well as her hearing. Her antennas are sensitive to loud hearing and awful smells can make her want to vomit.
-She enjoys biology on Earth, her favorite science parts are zoology and astrology.
-She has interest in insects, her favorite one are the butterflies and moths due to their colors and patterns on their wings and having antennas too. That said, she does not like flies as they start to get on her alien nerves, cockroaches gross her out and give her the creeps.
- Saturnia will often call her family to check up on them on one of her inventions that looks like a phone when on Earth. She lets them know she is alright, but she still needs to make sure her father doesn’t get too worried about her on Earth.

Time to talk about my favorite sci-fi trope that is severely underutilized.
In most sci-fi stories involving aliens, humanity is the faction that is the underdog, the ones being hunted down by superior beings that are physically and sometimes mentally stronger than us. I think that it's a fairly boring take that has been overplayed to death throughout the ages.
What I propose instead is aliens are afraid of us; just think about it. The two main substances humanity needs to survive are water and oxygen. Both of those substances have great destructive power that we don't think about every day. Oxygen oxidizes stuff in your cells, which means that we are setting ourselves on fire (albeit on a very small scale) with every breath we take. Water is a combination of hydrogen, one of the most volatile elements out there, you know the stuff that STARS are made of, and the aforementioned oxygen. Our world is essentially hell, and we are all demons breathing fire and drinking death.
We are also a very war-like species, every few years we basically make our planet explode for no better reason than to earn a piece of land for "our own people", or to earn a few shiny coins or a piece of paper with no inherent worth, it's scary to think what we would be capable of if we faced true enemy, an existential threat, and not enemy we made ourselves out of greed or spite.
We also right now in our times wield terrible destructive power that can be summoned with a flicker of a wrist. Atomic bomb was invented before solar panels, we found a way to summon the core of a star to destroy each other before we found a easy way to turn natural power of the sun into hot water. It's utterly terrifying and fascinating to me.
Average human is also a fairly durable and tough creature, it takes more than you think to take us down if you don't know where to aim that. We also breed like rabbits so if you take one of us down ten more are ready to take their place.
I think that's why i love imperial guard so much, we are talking what is essentialy a modern-day army, just with better equipment going against horryfic xenos and still winning, still snaching bloodied victory from the vicious claws of defeat. We might not be the toughest or smartest species out there but the combination of our traits makes us one of the most powerful forces out there (if we ignore tyrandis but you can't get better than bioweapon mixed with cthulu tbh, that's a bit unfair comparison at the best of days)
If you are a creative type creating a sci-fi universe, don't be afraid of making humans the biggest badasses out there. We drink poison and we breathe fire and we should be proud of that!

my personal favorite aliens for star archives
Ilgorans are a peaceful species from the garden world of Zadrik.
In comparison to the other species, ilgorans basically never had wars. At most skirmishes that turned violent.
They are a species dedicated to egalitarianism and the arts. Many of the most famous musicians, artists, writers and directors are ilgoran, thanks to their government funding many schools and universities surrounding these topics.
Most of ilgoran technology looks seemingly primitive, but this is mostly due to almost all of it being made of a woodlike material and actually being alive.
Their spaceships are a genetically engineered jellyfish like beings, modified to survive in space. The insides are made of the same material their shells are made out of, and the ship is controlled by the captain plugging themselves into the ships nervous system and controlling it like a extension of their body.
Barley any of these ships are geared towards war, most being used to transport goods and people from one world to another.
Ilgorans themselves are relatively small, only about the height of a golden retriever. They are hermaphroditic and with concepts of gender and gender roles being completely alien to them.
Their worlds have become safeplaces for lgbtq individuals of any of the other species, who some worlds still discriminate against.
Their insides are soft and gelatinous, however they are protected by their thick shells. Before modern civilization, ilgorans were basically the bottom of the food chain on Zadrik and had to become more and more intelligent to survive against their equally smart predators. This eventually lead to them becoming sapient.
Nowadays, in some twist of irony, many of these predators have been domesticated and serve as livestock or pets.
From the beginning, groups of ilgoran communities had to stay close to together and corporate to survive, leading to them sharing basically everything and living in closely knit communities.
Their cities are densely populated and can feel claustrophobic to outsiders, being carved into the enormous jungle trees of their world. This doesnt bother them, and they actually feel uncomfortable in open spaces.
When colonizing new worlds, they either terraform that planets trees to be as big as their homeworlds, or plant entire forests of these “city trees”.
While they are part of the solar federation, they are neutral in the war against the imperium. They are still prepared however, having turned their most populated worlds and systems into fortresses guarded by armadas and bunkers capable of holding millions of ilgorans and refugees.
If the galaxy falls, they are ready to be the last bastion of freedom.

Transformers x Star Wars 🛸🪐🛞
❥ Author’s Note: Hello everyone! So I’ve always wanted to make a SW crossover with another sci-fi series, & I didn’t know whether to pick this or Avatar? But I went with this one! I will be planning an Avatar-themed post too. Also a quick side note, these headcanons will mostly be based on the movies since those are the only Transformers media I’ve seen so far. But I am trying to watch the shows so hopefully this is okay! Thank you & enjoy!
Cybertron
Okay starting off! Cybertron in this universe is located along the Mid Rim of the Galaxy, but resides as an independent world during the Old Republic Era. Unlike other colonies & planets in the Inner & Mid Rim, Cybertron is considered the most technologically advanced place in the galaxy. Almost like discrete and distant from all other places. Considering their inhabitants are autonomous robotic organisms.
The planet itself is entirely based around robotic bodies: while there is some wildlife, such as water & flora, etc. The planet itself is made up of metal with multiply cities & colonies resting along the surface, or even underground.
The Cybertronians are somewhat of a mystery, as they prefer to keep to their own & often worry about their civilization’s care. It’s incredibly rare for any other species to arrive on their planet at all. Although they are not entirely secluded, as sometimes their presence is needed for political matters.
Whether it’s discussing planetary boundaries, offering their services to aid in building projects, or even providing physical support in combat. They have been known to help the Republic a few times as a means of military support, but this mainly happens during the Clone Wars.
Plus they’re giant mechanical beings that are taller than any building… I’m sure they’d be happy to help… 😅
Autobots vs Decepticons
So I know the war on Cybertron lasts like a gazillion years, but for the sake of the headcanon maybe it takes place around the same time as the Star Wars franchise? Like the Autobot rebellion against Megatron perhaps started before the Empire took over. But maybe it goes on long enough throughout the Clone Wars, and the Autobot brigades leaving begins either when the Empire takes over or a while after.
But I can image the Empire also tried teaming up with Megatron at some point. I guess this is kind of similar to Mandalore in a way?
Just like the live action movies, the Autobot brigades decide to seek refuge on other planets as a means to rest & regroup. Which also translates to the whole “robots in disguise” thing. So once the war happens, Cybertronians aren’t secluded anymore & the war has gotten lot more public in the galaxy. With a few Bots living or hiding among cities, or even building their own bases as a means to reconnect with each other. They even take the opportunity to defend the planets from the Decepticons, just like Earth.
Of course they help during the Clone Wars too. I personally like the idea of Optimus prime being a hero of both worlds too!
Obviously the Bots still transform into vehicles, as it’s still convenient for them to move around. But the fact that lots of vehicles in Star Wars are usually automated by droids, or they can just hover around like speeders & ships, I feel the option can just be whatever people want it to be? Lol
I did discuss this in a Bad Batch discord I’m in, and I thought making the Cybertronians land vehicles might help make them stand out more when compared to other alien races in Star Wars. But they can obviously just scan a Walker or a Speeder, even a clone ship, & just take off on their own too.
Fun Facts
Okay so these are just random, less lore-based or time-based ideas compared to the ones above, but I hope you enjoy!
This one is my favorite, but since I love the idea of Optimus Prime being a hero of both Cybertron & the Clone Wars. It would be cool if during the original trilogy, he shows up! Like maybe Luke or Han come across him stuck in his alt-mode for a long time, but they wake him up & he transforms! Ready & willing to find his comrades & defeat the Empire! 🤩
I discussed this one on the Bad Batch discord too with someone and we discussed the Marauder or one of the Clone ships secretly being an Autobot!! Like maybe Hunter or even Tech finds out, or are the first ones to find out.
This also gave me an idea for Bumblebee, since he’s one of the most popular Autobots, as well as being accustomed to Earth & other cultures in the movies. I like the idea of him meeting the Bad Batch or even the 501st through the Clone Wars. Like maybe Bee crash landed somewhere & the Clones are in the same area as him, & pick up his distress signal. This would be similar to the 2018 movie, but I feel their dynamic with Bee is kinda like with Sam Witwicky. 😅 Bayverse Bumblebee is pretty rambunctious…
Similar to the Last Knight movie with Hot Rod, I like the idea of an Autobot being a Senator’s guard. Maybe for Princess Padme or even Leia since she’s such a good marksman. They could be their personal transport during their time in the Senate, but if things get hectic they just transform to rescue them. Or the ‘Bot and Senator are a cool dynamic duo who can protect everyone from the Empire. 😎

Greetings all, I have no idea what I’m talking about!
I was raised on Star *Wars,* but have recently picked up a fixation on Star *Trek.*
I’ve seen the first few seasons of Strange New Worlds and all of Lower Decks.
That is the extent of my knowledge.
(I do intend to further this knowledge greatly, but this is where I’m at, now.)
I’ve comprised a list of questions, and thoughts, progressing from most genuine to most unhinged.
Do I expect or demand answers? No! Not at all, you may simply laugh as you wish.
Enjoy:
•How do stardates work.
Also can I have a calendar.
•WHAT is the mirror dimension. (I mean it’s obviously a bizarro alternate universe thing but STILL)
•I keep hearing about a guy named Bones. I’m pretty sure he’s Scottish. I know nothing about him other than I’m gonna love him
•I’ve yet to decipher if Spock is babygirl or mothering. It’s one of the two
•How did the Gorn build working spaceships. They’re literally the ravenous dog things from ghostbusters
•Why are the good guy ships pancakes
(I don’t know how the warp core works, I imagine it’s that shape for Project Manhattan type reasons, but that’s just a guess)
•What is different about Vulcan blood that makes it green. Jolly rancher coded species
•I know it’s for a good reason, but I feel like most actual aliens wouldn’t be humanoid. Our bodies are NOT efficient enough for this to be the default
•I’m like 94% sure that Klingons are Japan and Romulans are Russia. I know the original thing was made in the 60s, and given the general adversity those two countries had to USS ships, plastering your fictional advisories with those stereotypes seems like a pretty good way to appeal to US audiences.
•also Vulcans are house cats
(Sorce: triangle ears, generally seen as uncaring, can purr.)
[Counterpoint, yet to see a Vulcan intentionally knock a glass off a table]
•Can you guys tell that Spock is my favorite
•The one and only hard stance I will take is that if Christopher Pike isn’t bisexual then they’re wrong
(Evidence: I mean, look at him. Also straight men aren’t allowed to be that sassy)
•WHAT are sonic showers.
My thought process is this:
I know that Sonic means fast because Sonic Waves, and also that hedgehog. Do they just blast you with sonic sound waves???? I mean I doubt it, but what do I know-
That’d be super loud, though. You’d have to wear hearing protection, but what about the rest of the ship? Do they just have something at a frequency nobody can hear, and the grime just vibrates off of you?
Wiggle dirt??????
I HIGHLY doubt that’s even close, but I imagine the dramatic irony is worth my foolishness.
•Is there some alien teen out there making a “21st century earth aesthetic!” tutorial.
(“Save the planet” baseball cap, with 20’s feather. Marvel tee. Pettycaot under jean skirt. Knee high tango boots. Facemask.)
#star trek strange new worlds#spock#Pike#Im so new to this I don’t even know what a baby Star Trek nerd is called#Dwarf star? Maybe? If not then in should be#uss enterprise#Nerd alert#Star Trek#baby nerd#Seriously though what are stardates

Matthew Stover ruined Dooku
It is perhaps generally accepted that Revenge of the Sith novelization by Matthew Stover is one of the best books ever written in the Star Wars universe, if not the best. It's not hard to see why, since in many ways the story is head and shoulders above the movie, and Anakin Skywalker is, in my opinion, better captured by the author than anywhere else in the Expanded Universe. Still, I can't say that I was completely satisfied with the novel. Count Dooku is one of my favorite EU characters and I was saddened by how he was portrayed by Stover.
Xenophobia
Matthew Stover's Darth Tyranus is a terrible xenophobe, who never fails to remind the reader of this even during conversations with his colleagues such as Grievous and Darth Sidious. He deeply believes that creating the Empire of Man is what he was born to do? Seriously? Dooku is so evil in this book that it seems as if he would have been able to carry out all of Palpatine's plans exactly to the smallest detail without the participation of Palpatine himself. I think Stover here erases the complexity of the character that Jude Watson and Sean Stewart were able to create, and that's something we'll come back to.
A government clean, pure, direct: none of the messy scramble for the favor of ignorant rabble and subhuman creatures that made up the Republic he so despised. The government he would serve would be Authority personified. Human authority. It was no accident that the primary powers of the Confederacy of Independent Systems were Neimoidian, Skakoan, Quarren and Aqualish, Muun and Gossam, Sy Myrthian and Koorivar and Geonosian. At war’s end the aliens would be crushed, stripped of all they possessed, and their systems and their wealth would be given into the hands of the only beings who could be trusted with them. Human beings. Dooku would serve an Empire of Man. And he would serve it as only he could. As he was born to. - Revenge of the Sith, 2
In the novels written before Revenge of the Sith, we saw many important episodes from Dooku's past, and there were no premises for xenophobia. As a child, he was constantly dealing with other sentient species in the Jedi Order, and his father figure was a literal gremlin. One of Dooku's childhood friends was Eero Iridian, who is also not human. Darth Tyranus shows some remorse due to the fact that he and Darth Sidious took advantage of the Troxans (a non-human species) to drain the Republic's resources. This definitely doesn't fit with the way in RotS Dooku gleefully imagines crushing non-humans under the new government.
“These are the envoys from Troxar,” his Master said. How could he know? Dooku didn’t ask. Darth Sidious knew. He always knew.“They are considering surrender,” Dooku said. “They claim they have a resistance planned, ready to rise in insurrection when the clone troops withdraw.” “No!” the flickering figure said sharply. “The war has already damaged the planet too much to make it worth saving. Its only value now is to chew up more troops and resources. Tell them they have to fight on. Promise them reinforcements—tell them you will be deploying a new fleet of advanced droids to retake the whole system within a month, if only they can hold on. Explain that such weapons will not be put in the hands of those who surrender.” “And when the month passes, and no reinforcements arrive?” “Help will come within another month at most. Promise them that, and make them believe it. I’ve shown you how.” “I understand,” Dooku said. How casually we betray our creatures. The hooded figure cocked its head. “Having an attack of conscience, my apprentice?” “No, Master.” He met the hooded figure’s hideous eye. “It was their own greed that brought them to you,” he said. “In their heart of hearts, they always knew what they were getting into.” - Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, 1
Technophobia
The next uncharacteristic trait that was added to the character is technophobia. Anakin Skywalker's prosthetic arm disgusts Dooku, and he almost spits bile while talking to Grievous. The aristocrat hates not only cyborgs, but also ordinary droids, calling them “repulsive” and hoping that they will be destroyed along with the General.
“Which is precisely,” Dooku said meditatively, “why it might be best if I were to kill him, instead.” “Are you so certain that you can?” “Please. Of what use is power unstructured by discipline? The boy is as much a danger to himself as he is to his enemies. And that mechanical arm—” Dooku’s lip curled with cultivated distaste. “Revolting.” “Then perhaps you should have spared his real arm.” “Hmp. A gentleman would have learned to fight one-handed.” Dooku flicked a dismissive wave. “He’s no longer even entirely human. With Grievous, the use of these bio-droid devices is almost forgivable; he was such a disgusting creature already that his mechanical parts are clearly an improvement. But a blend of droid and human? Appalling. The depths of bad taste. How are we to justify associating with him?” - Revenge of the Sith, 2
Dooku nodded judiciously to himself, frowning down at the translucent blue ghosts slinking toward Palpatine. “Sound the retreat for the entire strike force, General, and prepare the ship for jump. Once the Jedi are dead, I will join you on the bridge.”“As my lord commands. Grievous out.” “Indeed you are, you vile creature,” Dooku muttered to the dead comlink. “Out of luck, and out of time.” He cast the comlink aside and ignored its clatter across the deck. He had no further use for it. Let it be destroyed along with Grievous, those repulsive bodyguards of his, and the rest of the cruiser, once he was safely captured and away. - Revenge of the Sith, 3
Why doesn't this make sense? As with xenophobia, the previous books and comics do not contain any hints that Dooku has disdain or hatred towards people with prosthetics and cyborgs. Moreover, when Grievous proposed using Geonosian technology on the Jedi Padawans for experimental purposes, Dooku approved the idea. Not to mention, the Sith Lord enjoyed Grievous' training.
Grievous had been a delight to train, as well. - Labyrinth of Evil, 22
Love and friendship
Next, Stover gaslights the reader by talking about the friendship between Dooku and Lorian Nod. Because if we go back to Legacy of the Jedi, it turns out that Dooku wasn't such a bad friend. He cares about Lorian and tries to be careful with his words so as not to hurt his feelings. Then after Lorian betrayed Dooku by blaming him for stealing the holocron, did Dooku worry about his reputation? Sure, but what unsettled him was that he was betrayed by someone so close to him. Even after what happened, he considers Nod his friend and cannot decide to refuse his request.
He doesn’t remember quite when he discovered this; it may have been when he was a young Padawan, betrayed by another learner who had claimed to be his friend. Lorian Nod had said it to his face: “You don’t know what friendship is.” And he didn’t. He had been angry, certainly; furious that his reputation had been put at risk. And he had been angry at himself, for his error in judgment: trusting as an ally one who was in fact an enemy. The most astonishing part of the whole affair had been that even after turning on him before the Jedi, the other boy had expected him to participate in a lie, in the name of their “friendship.” - Revenge of the Sith, 3
His best friend had betrayed him. Throughout the years at the Temple, he could always depend on Lorian. They had shared jokes and secrets. They had competed and helped each other. They had quarreled and made up. The fact that this person could betray him shocked him so deeply he felt sick. Legacy of the Jedi, 3
Dooku didn't know what to say. He wasn't prepared to lie, but he couldn't say no to his friend. So he said nothing, and, after a long while, the two friends fell asleep. Legacy of the Jedi, 3
Was Dooku the perfect friend? Of course not, and his pride played a role in escalating the conflict, as did Lorian’s envy, but to reduce everything to the words that “Dooku was different and did not understand friendship” I think is a monstrous simplification. The loss of his friend played a big role in Dooku's life, and that's how the story ends.
Lorian had been wrong. Dooku's heart hadn't been empty. He had loved his friend. But he had changed. Lorian had betrayed him. He would never believe in friendship again. If his heart was now empty of love, so be it. The Jedi did not believe in attachments. He would fill his heart with nobility and passion and commitment. He would become a great Jedi Master. Legacy of the Jedi, 6
We further learn that Dooku cannot care about the feelings of other beings and does not even see those around him as entirely real. Now, I don't by any means think that characters with these traits are a bad thing, or that you can't do something interesting with them, but that's not Dooku. We've seen how important his relationships with some of the other characters are to him (there's a whole novel written about him and Yoda), and that he cares to some extent about the feelings of those around him. Moreover, Stover will not explore these new traits, because Dooku will die in the next chapter anyway.
He is entirely incapable of caring what any given creature might feel for him. He cares only what that creature might do for him. Or to him. Very possibly, he is what he is because other beings just aren’t very … interesting. Or even, in a sense, entirely real. For Dooku, other beings are mostly abstractions, simple schematic sketches who fall into two essential categories. - Revenge of the Sith, 3
Jedi Order
Stover's Dooku ideal Jedi Order would forcibly remove Force-sensitive children from their families. Perhaps it's just my opinion, but it seems strange in light of the fact that his rejection trauma, as described by Sean Stewart, is related to his parents and the Jedi Order.
And that Fist would become a power beyond any Jedi’s darkest dreams. The Jedi were not the only users of the Force in the galaxy; from Hapes to Haruun Kal, from Kiffu to Dathomir, powerful Force-capable humans and near-humans had long refused to surrender their children to lifelong bound servitude in the Jedi Order. They would not so refuse the Sith Army. They would not have the choice. - Revenge of the Sith, 2
Ultimately, I can make the case that the ending of Yoda: Dark Rendezvous may have served to develop Dooku and make him even more bitter, but that doesn't justify the radical personality transplant Matthew Stover performed. And now, I often see these lines used to say that Dooku was always pure evil, had no good intentions and was always pretending, and also see questions like "as a human supremacist, what did Dooku think of Yoda?" And how can we know? All of these things were added to the character at the last minute and didn't match anything we'd seen before. This is not my Dooku.

Since I’m currently in a Star Wars phase, I was thinking…. How about a WondLa trilogy AU set in the Star Wars universe?
:D!!!!
It wouldn't be me if I didn't have a crossover or a couple for things I'm currently interested in, so I absolutely have a few, lmao.
I've been thinking of a post-WondLa canon SW AU wherein SW isn't in our past; rather, it's in the future and is currently set in the Prequels/Clone Wars era (my favorite :) ). I'm fudging with both canons a bit and putting WondLa several millenniums ahead of where it is in canon to fit in with the SW timeline and also saying that the galaxy is not far, far away. It's the Milky Way. SW humans are from the humans that abandoned Earth via the Dynasty Corporation and affiliated and just. Never came back.
(Continued under the cut because this got long lol)
It's been three or so years since the Battle of Solas, so Eva is around 16. My thinking is that Orbona is out in Wild Space, so it's been lost to charts and maps for a while, thus explaining why the people of SW don't know that the human home planet still exists, or even that there is a human home planet. During the War, the disaster trio (Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka) end up crash-landing on Orbona on the salt flat near Lacus and find themselves trekking from the now-broken Twilight to what they can see as the nearest civilization, which seems to be a mix of species, most of which-- barring humans-- the Jedi have never seen before. Let's say, for consistency's sake, that the aliens who ended up colonizing Earth/Orbona where from farther out, potentially the galaxy Ezra ended up in, so they're not present in the SW galaxy. Thus, the Jedi can't understand them. They, of course, manage to encounter Eva and co. and, since the humans speak Basic (or English, as the humans of Orbona know it), manage to get a rundown of where they are. (Obi-Wan's nerdy ass is incredibly excited to learn that Orbona/Earth is the planet of human origin. Think of the fossil records.)
And thus, through a series of shenanigans, Orbona is introduced to the larger galactic stage. A selection of beings from Orbona is chosen to go to Coruscant in order to present their planet to the Senate. This includes Eva, Vanpa, Rovender, and maybe Huxley? And others. Redimus is protection.
The Jedi have no idea what to make of Eva. She's extremely strong in the Living Force, but it presents itself in a way none of them have ever seen. I think she and Yoda would get along very well, to the horror of everyone else. She and Anakin would also eat bugs together.
One of the things I've been thinking about the most for this is Eva and the clones, because she, herself is also a clone, just of someone else. I can imagine they bond over that fact as well as personhood and being a second-class citizen in a place that doesn't really care for you. (Say what you want about New Attica, but Eva's status as a clone and her unique experiences were totally brushed over by the Atticans and I don't think she was super happy about that.) I think the vod'e would hear that Eva is still using her designation as her name (Earth in Vitro Alpha, ninth generation) and encourage her to find a name for herself, if she wants to. Eva Nine thus becomes Evelyn "Eva" Kitt :)
This somehow leads to Palps getting outed and ousted because I am all about fix-its in this house.
Other ideas I've had are SW characters in the WondLa setting, which I think is also very fun, but I've thought less about. For instance, the "Eva" would likely be either be Ezra or Omega due to the "naive little kid sees the world, grows up, and develops some pretty serious skills while also finding a family" thing. Ezra works thanks in part to already having similar powers and his relationship with his mentor/dad figure is similar to Eva's. Omega also works because of weird-little-girl-ness, vibes, being a clone, and a similar arc of losing a loved one and having to learn how to move on, though, in this AU, I feel like the person she loses- her caretaker- would have to be Nala Se and not a brother. (You can also insert Batcher in as Otto quite nicely. Maybe Ezra could get a Loth-Wolf?) Hunter is the Rovender, though I'd make it so he had a falling-out with his brothers instead of them being dead and that's why he left.
This also means that it's easy to insert Emerie as the Eva Eight figure, but also means that, in order for Ezra to work, there'd also have to be a bunch of Ezra clones running around. Lmao.
#wondla#star wars#star wars the clone wars#eva nine#obi wan kenobi#anakin skywalker#ahsoka tano#tbb omega#ezra bridger#beans answers#theres also potential for a version of this where palps lived and o66 went out as in canon and orbona instead becomes a#rebel base/affiliated planet and the wondla cast helps the rebellion#eva and ezra bonding over being living extensions of their planets.......

🌌 Sci-fi AU?
[ Isi trying to make AU's // Accepting! ]
// Sci-fi isn't my favorite setting, and I don't really have much media to get ideas from that I actively watched. My knowledge of sci-fi comes mostly from big movies/series like Star Wars and Star Trek so it's gonna be a mix between the two of them I suppose ^^ Also I write these more like something like a prompt bc thats cool and gives some insight I guess? So please bear with my limited knowledge :')
Her ship is small. Nothing for a big crew. One, or at best two, people could live on it. Not a big crew. And that's how Lilli prefered it anyway. A small ship is more easily to miss, in battle as well as when escaping. And she was good enough of a pilot for it. Still, she had paid good money to have a device built in that made her small ship almost invisible. That's when she gave it it's name. 'Schatten'. Not creative, because it just meant 'Shadow' in her native language, but she found it fitting enough.
The woman set the course to the next space-station, before switching on the auto-pilot. The path she had choosen should not have any dangers on it, so it should be fine to take her eyes away for a moment. She still had to look for a job after all. While she did had some credits left, she still needed money to get fuel and supplies. Her next travel is gonna be a long one after all.
So the woman grabs her tablet, and opens up a site to check any kind of available job on the station she was heading to. She wasn't exactly picky when it came to how to earn money. At this point Lilli did any job from being a bounty hunter, to a bodyguard, smuggler, killer or even spy. And wasn't she made for some of these tasks? After a while she decides for a simple job on which she has to spy on some dude. Eh, should be fine.
Though her journey to the station will take a while still, so she had quite some time to kill. So, she switched away from the job site, after applying to the spy-task of course, and to the news from all over the galaxy. There were some articles about some big space-fight between offical goverment ships, and space pirates. Some smugglers who got caught. A new alien species has joined some union... Nothing what really interested her. But one article caught her attention. 'Another black hole has appeared! Is this the end of the universe?' Said the headline of said article. Quite the clickbait, given that, while there had been several black holes appeared recently, they had been rather small, and were able to be contained. They were right about it being strange though. Especially because they had appeared quite close to populated places. Stations, planets.
Lilli's eyes narrow as she reads the article. People only thought it was a strange natural incidence... She knows it isn't though. She has seen this before. The woman knows exactly who's doing it was. He was still on it. Trying to find a way to manipulate dark matter. And while she was sure he still hadn't found a save way to do so, he had made progress... It means she has to find him quickly, and finally end this. But he was hiding well...
She closes the pad then, and places it to the site, before staring at nothing for some time. Then she slowly raises her hand, with the palm facing up... Almost immediately a tiny version of a black hole floated just a few centimeters abover her palm. Lilli stares at it for a moment, before closing her fist around it, and suffocating it again.
He wanted to use dark matter to make the perfect weapon... Seems like he really thought that she was dead.
A sigh left her then, and the pilot went back to flying the ship after turning off the auto-pilot. She needs to get her mind off things for a big apparently...
Man idk if this is good. Her personality is a mix between main verse and vigilante AU tbh
#based it also a little bit on the vigilante AU actually#instead of shadow manipulation its dark matter manipulation#ONLY because I think that sounds more sci-fi like fgbfh#ask#anon

Due to a current boycott of Paramount and Paramount+ I'm watching this from a pirate cove and I'd encourage you to do the same and without further ado live blogging of Star Trek Discovery and as always 🌟SPOILERS🌟
Season 5 Episode 4
I feel like I've seen this alien before looks like the Hunters from DS9
The alien looks like a fisherman from Maine lol
I looked it up the Annari from VOY I also liked their fridge like 2377 ship version
Well there goes the Annari
How big was the emerald chain if a delta quadrant species was arming them that or peoples from the delta might have just moved before The Burn idk
Ooooooooo Rayner went to the captain ready room he in big trouble
They call a listening device a bug but in this case it's literally a bug
Oh stuck together it seems classic trek move
What the uniforms.... TIME TRAVEL?!
Oh this is a different trek classic episode type altogether I've been fooled
San Francisco oh wow this is gonna be fun hehehehe
Krenim time bug so it wasn't a listening device after all
Temporal War mentioned
God damn Discovery been through a lot huh?
Don't turn back on the Breen? No don't sell technology to the Breen
I love that Stamets is unaffected by time travel it's such a cool idea
"What?! Nooooooooo" I love Stamets
I also like of Reno has been in two time travel occurrences already helpful in both too
"Always a silver lining" lmao
Two Burnham at once I don't know if the universe can handle it
Oh my
This is real far into Discovery past
Ah good old Linus
Oof past Burnham still has trust issues that got solved over multiple seasons sadly this is season 1 Burnham not yet hit full character development
Vulcan nerve pinch haven't seem that in a minute
If Burnham was in a rpg video game by season 5 she'd have 100% in speech
What not past Burnham being the biggest challenge to saving Discovery
That was a good speech from Rayner probably my favorite moment from this character so far
Well that was great definitely my favorite so far this season it felt different from most DIS episodes and was really good

I have finally watched The Flux!!
God it took me ages to get through Thirteen's episodes. Some were good but overall I was bored a lot so it took me ages to get through season 11 and 12. But I just watched the last episode of the Flux tonight and now I'm going to randomly share my disconnected thoughts about it on this post.
Okay so overall I think I enjoyed this season! Which surprised me. I was so prepared to hate it after all the hate for the Flux I've seen on Tumblr or be super bored like I am with a lot of Chibnall's episodes but while it isn't my favorite thing I do think it was 13's best season. I didn't think I'd enjoy the Flux if I'm honest. Everything I read about it sounded dumb or confusing and yeah I'm still a bit confused by some stuff that was just not addressed but this isn't the first time the whole universe (or massive parts of it) have been wiped out so it's not exactly a new concept for the Doctor. But the connection with her and her past is new and I'm intrigued by it if I'm honest. And it gave Jodie some great stuff to work with. She was so good in this season. Way better than the previous two seasons just because she had a lot more to work with writing wise.
The individual plots for each episode are really good and kept my attention. I've loved the plot of the Sontarans waging war through time, the Lupari and their species bond with humanity, the whole thing with the Mouri, Swarm and Azure were cool villains, the star crossed lovers Vinder and Bel trying to find each other, the Weeping Angels taking a whole village, Dan and Yaz living 3 years in the early 1900s and doing Indiana Jones type of stuff. I even enjoyed the Division and the Flux plot.
Now while I overall liked all that, I still feel unsatisfied because there were a lot of potentially great stories but they were all crammed together into 6 episodes and none of them had time to be fleshed out properly and some of them didn't connect well and trying to follow it all was SO HARD. There's so much going on and so many seemingly unrelated plots happening all at once that it's so hard to keep track of. And I'm watching all these episodes back to back immediately after one another. I can't even imagine trying to keep up when this aired one a week. I'd be lost. I think this would have been amazing if they had gotten a full season and didn't have to cram it all into just 6 episodes. (this is why I'm worried about the new season coming which is only gonna have 8 episodes. DW needs more than 8 episodes)
I adore Dan by the way. I loved him from his first scene and every second after has just been lovely. He's super sweet and I love his accent and that he's apparently so selfless that he'd rather give all his food to others than have any for himself. He's taking all this alien stuff so well too. He just got kidnapped by a giant dog and hasn't had a moments break since but he's cool. I like him best out of all of 13's companions so far. Too bad he barely had any episodes. That's a shame. Looking forward to watching these last 3 episodes with him though.
Vinder and Bel? I LOVE THEM BOTH!!!!! Talk about star crossed lovers! I'd watch a whole show just about those two.
Dan and Yaz living for three years in the early 1900s?? I WANT TO LEARN MORE!!!! How did they get out of the village that was surrounded by space? Why was it surrounded by space? Dan as the stowaway is hilarious and has to sleep under the bed in the ship XD.
Chibnall throwing every recurring species he can think of was nuts but in a fun way. Daleks, Sontarans, Cybermen, Ood, Weeping Angels, etc.
Kinda lame that Tecteun was just taken out so easily. I wanted the Doctor to do it in a very Doctor way. Like what 10 did to the Family of Blood ya know?
And that's all I got for now. 3 more episodes to go for 13's run!

Rating animated characters' live action translations:
SPOILERS for all the animated and live action Star Wars series up to and including Mando S3E5.
Saw Gererra - 9/10. Overall, Saw in Rogue One feels like Saw in TCW (and Rebels). The differences in eye color and facial structure are pretty forgivable. Saw's jump to live action set an excellent precedence.
Chopper - 100/10. No live action counterpart will ever surpass the flawless translation of Chopper from Rebels to Rogue One.
Ahsoka - 6/10. I feel like this is the most controversial take on this list but I'm neither in love with nor supremely offended by Ahsoka's appearance in The Mandalorian. It's fine, although I am a bit salty about the shorter lekku. I don't hate Rosario Dawson in the role and have some hope that her portrayal will approve.
Bo-Katan Kryze - 10/10. The queen, the legend. Katee Sackhoff reprising her role in live action was an incredible choice; I wish they'd err on the side of keeping voice actors rather than automatically recasting. Bo's translation was definitely a solid 8/10 right out the gate. Now that Katee's gotten more practice physically inhabiting the role - and a new wig - Bo-Katan is better than ever.
Cad Bane - 8/10. One of the highlights of TBOBF, Cad Bane's appearance is just about as good as you can get for an alien character of a species who originated in animation.
The Grand Inquisitor - 2/10. I don't know why Kenobi did such a bad job of translating animated characters to live action compared to the other shows. Maybe they blew their entire budget on Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen? Either way, "Quizzy" was horrible.
The Fifth Brother - 3/10. Marginally better than "Quizzy".
Garazeb Orrelios - 7/10. Decent CGI, and honestly much better than I could've hoped. Still, it's CGI. Not my favorite, but it was fun to see a member of the Ghost crew for the first time.

Just curious~ but what’s your favorite Alien race in Star Wars? 🤔
I really like the Pantorans, they’re so pretty~ 🥰
the gold eyes + matching gold facial tattoos they have go so nicely with their blue skin.. plus they get instant nerd points since George Lucas himself had a cameo as a Pantoran senator in the background of one of the prequel movies! 😁
Ohh yess they’re fricking prettyyyyyy!!! alsooo, didn’t know this about Georges Lucas cameo, gonna pay more attention to it when I‘ll rewatch the movies 0-0
My favourites are the Togrutas and the Twi‘leks c:
The Togrutas character design is a freaking masterpiece. The tonned skin, white markings and the beautiful Lekkus ???
it’s just awesome 🥹
aaand I also mentioned the Twi‘leks, hehe.
I used to be obsessed with Aalya Secura back then when I was still in elementary school. Idk, even if her appearance in the movies wasn’t really…. long? Impactful? she somehow managed to be one of my favorite Jedi back then.. I mean she‘s still holding a special place in my heart ngl 😭
Like whenever I see her I get this nostalgic feeling because I used to play a Nintendo Wii game about the clone wars, she’s a playable character there and I always chose her 🥹
however, since she was like my second (after Anakin ofc) favorite Star Wars character, Twi‘leks in general automatically became my favorite alien species for a lot of years xd
