Ok, it's Football Season. If you could have your favorite team put on a quilt, which team would you pick? Do you prefer NFL or College Teams?

I went to a high school performance of Hadestown this weekend (it was fantastic btw, so polished and professional and all the actors, pit, and tech did a marvelous job). The audience was great too, full of applause and enthusiasm after every song. But one of my favorite moments was at the end, when Orpheus turned around. You could hear audible gasps from the audience, and then there was perfect silence for a full minute while the actors transitioned to Road to Hell (Reprise). No scattered applause as sometimes happens when a song ends and the next scene doesn’t immediately begin. No murmurs or whispers. Just silence. And Hermes’ actress milked that silence for all it was worth. She had total control of that silence. It was glorious. I’m sure many people in that auditorium— parents, teachers, supportive community members— showed up that night, not knowing the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. My mother-in-law certainly didn’t, sitting just a few seats down from me. And that collective gasp, followed by heavy silence is exactly what it’s all about. That���s the whole point— it’s a sad song. It’s a sad tale, it’s a tragedy. But we sing it anyway.

Johnny steals his clothes all the fuckin time.

To be fair, Ghost never expressed that he didn't want all his jackets taken. But it should have been obvious he needed at least one jacket, he thought.

Just the one time, he wants to take something of Soap's. Something he probably wouldn't care about. Everything was too small, really. And something about that made his heart squeeze in his chest.

Maybe he wanted it more than he realized. He wanted to be closer, and borrowing clothes felt more intimate without the actual intimacy that he feared yet craved.

Simon took an older looking shirt. One without the tags. Something sleeveless that he could fit in much easier. As much of a different in their size as there was, it didn't feel constricting.

He felt like he could breathe.

And maybe it was silly. Stealing his boyfriend's clothes while he's off in the gym.. but Johnny did it back, so maybe it wasn't all that strange.

The shirt stretched a little, framing his muscles and the little bit of pudge on his belly. It fit just right to him, even if it really didn't.

It was comforting.

He'd have to steal his clothes more often. The appeal was certainly there.

So Horror wouldn't steal our name, but who would? I feel like Killer would, and after everything he's stolen you're prepairded for all the games to stop and him to royally fuck you over, only for him to do nothing.

Here's the fae boys, on the subject of name stealing, on a scale of would to wouldn't.

Killer - He'd steal your wallet so he could root through and find your driver's license with your name on it. Do not trust this asshole. You'd expect him to use it to make you his slave or something, but he'd just use it for extremely harmless pranks; making you pay attention to him, making you hug him even though he's covered in soot, etc. He says he'll give it back if you go for dinner with him. It's so hard to tell what's going on in his head at any given time.

Dust - Yeah, he'd take your name. But he'd take good care of it. He wouldn't do anything with it - he wouldn't even tell anyone he knows it. No one except the two of you knows he has so much power over you. What could he possibly want from you...? He asks you to follow him out into the snow. He gently takes your shoulders, leans in, and murmurs something in your ear. Was that... was that his true name...?

Nightmare - Does he consider name stealing below him? Sure. But he's not above taking an opportunity. Leave something so precious out in the open, and he'll be quick to snatch it up. He might be the Winter King but he's always had a weakness for pretty things.

Dream - He'd take your name if the opportunity presented, but purely out of a desire to protect you. If he has it, no one else does, and you'll be safe. He'll give it back alongside a very stern lecture.

Horror - Doesn't need to, doesn't want to. He's busy baking you a pie.

Farmer - Already knows it.
