well for one dont send tumblr asks and panic abt it that gets u nowhere. genuine advice though

make sure that you cannot fucking get to any distractions like fully put stuff in other rooms if you need

create a plan. like ok i will write an outline, a really simple draft of the essay first. usually at this stage i write out what i'm trying to say in very very plain words. "i did this because so and so." "this quote demonstrates this idea because the word here evokes this imagery. that highlights how the main character is this quality."

take regular breaks. get someone to remind you to stop (or even someone to help proofread) or set a really annoying timer to tell you to stop writing. then say "at this time i will come back to it and such"

make sure you come back to it. since you seem to be on a time limit i would say come back to the essay after one or two hours and change the wording up, make sure your point still comes across clearly. then take a break, do other stuff for a bit, come back and edit the words, make sure it flows well, etc etc

rinse and repeat, make sure to step back and read the whole thing through a few times so you can check whether its cohesive and you're hitting all the points you wanted.

if nothing else. do it badly. at least you did it

Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.

If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.

Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.

That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag.

I see so many people feeling all smug at those "damn conservatives who will finally see the mistake they made!" And you know a while ago I would've agreed, but seeing it all now, I can't. I can't be happy, I can't be smug, there's nothing to celebrate.

Thinking about DP x DC Jason Todd being a revenant again. Here's my scenario. Jason gets called that by some ghost. He's like "what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He's heard the term before but he doesn't know any actual lore. He googles it. He scrolls past the Leonardo DiCaprio bear movie. He opens the wiki. Sees the words "animated corpse" and gets a chill diwn his spine. He starts reading the first section.

He closes Wikipedia.

That night he has a nightmare that his family buried him, again, this time with precautions. He wakes up in his own grave, full of stones, too heavy to move, to scream.
