Remember to cool down after exercise, one of the reasons being to prevent blood pooling. Blood pooling can make one feel light headed, nauseated, faint and even in some cases cause heart palpitations. Perform low intensity exercise such as light walking, cycling or static/yoga stretches will help bring the heart rate and breathing back to post workout. For each stretch focus on holding that particular position between 20 to 30 seconds. As for the light exercise cool down between 5 to 10 minutes depending on intensity of main workout, fitness background and other variables. #cooldown #preventbloodpooling #staticstretches #yogastretch #fitnesseducation #healtheducation #sporteducation #healthandwellbeing #onlinepersonaltrainer #onlineinstructor #onlinehealthcoach #onlinenurtitioncoach #cooldownideas #improveposture #shrewsbury #telford #shropshire #fatloss #fatlosstips #sixpack #fitnessforall #fitnessaddict #fitnessgoals #smartgoals #freemealppans #freeworkoutideas #gymshark #beginnersfitness #coolingdown #toughworkout (at Telford) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxcpI0dFFCk/?igshid=1fxbit03cgixs

There’s a very good reason why I like getting outside. Everyday we are being bombarded with worldwide negative news. It may be when will Lockdown End our hospitals failing to cope. This is why getting outside stimulates our nervous system and can regenerate cardiovascular health and heal our immune system is the power of the outdoors. As fit as I may be my DNA results were telling me I had to have a good balance between carbs fats and protein. However recent blood tests suggested I cut down on sugar even more than the 95% I had done recently. This it seems has to be my new years resolution like it or not. The trouble with speaking with GP’s is they can tell you something you might not like to hear. But what they can’t tell you is a dietary remedy. It becomes a guessing game on your part and in this instance this means I have to do all the working out. However what was said keeping fit at the level I do would be very helpful. Im now practising three times a week an intense exercise schedule that begins with my Ice Cold Shower followed by some heat. 30 mins minimum of foam roller exercises followed by 60 mins of Yoga Stretching followed by 20 mins of dynamic exercises. On non exercise days I halve the quantity. However when doing these exercises Im living in the moment focusing on enhancing every stretch and holding my core in whenever possible and doing this all on an empty stomach. While Ive eaten absolutely nothing I did make myself a warm drink by slicing a watermelon adding a couple ounces of ginger and peeling a lemon and putting in my nutribullet. All I can say it gives an amazing hot bite. Here is three views of me doing the lotus. See the next video to see what I got up to in the white of the snow. #fulllotus #yogaman #lotushandbalance #lockdown #immunebooster #foamrollerworkout #staticstretching #dynamicstretching #nutribullet #fasted (at Enfield Chase) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKcCXE-j4dJ/?igshid=3d2cbgano92w

Stretching is essential not only after exercise but also before it.
Try the right dynamic stretching moves before exercise to maximize your performance 🏋️‍♂️
Whereas, static stretching will help you prevent injury and speed up recovery post-workout.

Stretching: Dynamic or Static
Tumblr media
Mobility and flexibility are two essential sides of fitness that can easily be forgotten. We often focus on the number on the barbell or the number on the scale and use it to gauge our success. Regular stretching helps improve flexibility, increases range of motion and reduces the risk of injury caused by lesions of the connective tissue, and increases blood flow to the muscle. The question these days is stretch before or after your workout, and what type of stretching?
The age-old statement to stretch before your workout has come under debate recently.  Recent studies have shown that dynamic stretches can be more of a benefit before your workouts and improve speed, agility, and acceleration. It involves the progressive tightening of your muscles and moving your joints through their full range of motion. These functional and sport-specific movements help increase muscle temperature and decrease muscle stiffness. Dynamic movements like Standing Cat-Camel, Torso twist, Leg swings, and Walking lunges get the blood pumping and focus on a range of motion. Taking 6-10 minutes before you start your workout is a great way to warm up and prepare for the exercise coming.
That doesn't mean that static stretching does not have a place. Choosing to do static stretching following your workout allows your muscles to loosen up while increasing flexibility and range of motion. Research has shown that static stretching is an effective way to reduce stiffness, reducing pain.
The American College of Sports Medicine recommends stretching each of the major muscle groups at least two times a week for 60 seconds per exercise. So make sure you take that time before and after to focus on stretching.

In the programs I write I generally include both static and dynamic stretching prior to movement and lifting. Static stretching to open up the areas that are usually locked up with our generally seated, non active lifestyle and dynamic to increase core temperature as well as mimic movement for the day. #youngperformance #strengthandconditioning #sportsperformance #stretching #staticstretch #dynamicwarmup #dontwannapullahammie https://www.instagram.com/p/BusI9cklFRC/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=dnb77dflxqly
