I love Penny and I don't like making her worried, but imagine her just staying up late waiting for the farmer. The farmer doesn't come home till like one am, giving her anxiety from Pam not coming home till late.
Could I request a one-shot or something with this idea?
1:43 AM || penny x farmer oneshot
“what if it was all my fault? what if i drove you to it?” -- drunk, running by lizzy mcalpine
warnings: rough depictions of drinking and neglectful parenting. penny has a panic attack and yells at you a little.
requested by: anon! hi, thank you so much for the request!! this made me so upset to write oh my god, but in a good way! i love requests that let me release some emotions. i feel bad for adding more penny trauma though. anyway! hope you enjoy :)

Mining was a rough job. Yes, it earned the farm a good bit of money. It was physically strenuous, mentally draining, and all around not the best way to spend your day. Penny knew the dangers all too well, and it worried her. She hated when you spent a day in the mines. She was always worried about your health, fighting the monsters that crawled within. She was especially worried on nights like these; nights when you don't come in until one in the morning.
Sitting on the edge of her bed, Penny nervously picked at her nails. This habit had been finally beat after getting out of her old house, but it seemed to reappear on nights like this. Nights where it was just past 1:30 in the morning, and there was no sign of her beloved. Who knows what you were out there doing? She tried to trust you as much as she could, but ... with everything from her mom, it was hard.
“Mom ...?” Penny would say, her seven year old frame only covered by a thin blanket on the couch. She had fended for herself that night, stealing chips from the cabinet since Pam didn't make it home until just after 1:30. She was worried sick, shaking as she sat curled up with a stuffed animal.
Pam stumbled into the trailer, sitting beside Penny silently. She didn't say anything, just sat beside her daughter as she finished the bottle she held in her hand. It seems like Gus had to kick her out mid-drink. She always went strangely silent when she was upset.
“I-I'll uh ... I'll go to bed now, I-I was just worried ... I'm glad you're home and safe though, Mom!” Penny said with a big, gap-toothed smile. She tried her hardest to brighten Pam's day, but it always met with disappointment.
Pam didn't respond, waving her off as she laid down on the couch. She crashed, the bottle falling from her hand onto the ground. Thankfully, it didn't break. Penny walked closer, taking the bottle off of the floor. Her hands were shaking, trying not to wake her mom up. She glanced at the clock. 1:43 AM. Was every night going to be like this from now on?
Thunder cracked, snapping Penny out of her thoughts as she gazed at the clock on your bedside table. 1:43 AM. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as she bounced her leg. Her eyes stared holes through the door, pulling the blanket onto her lap. She couldn't tell if the shaking was due to her anxiety or the cold.
Thoughts raced throughout Penny's mind. What if you were hurt? What if you were still stuck down in the mines, and you wouldn't make it home? What if you were just out on the town instead, ignoring her? Why would you ever want to come home to her, she's just a pathetic housewife. That's all she'll ever be, right? What if you picked up a bottle that Penny would have to take from you, just like she had done so many times before?
Her thoughts were silenced as she heard the click of the doorknob. Seeing you in the doorway, a little scratched up but mainly unscathed, she didn't know how to feel. She was relieved to see you safe and back again, but she was still upset. It was written all over her. Her pale face, her shaking body, her trembling lip. You saw it almost immediately.
“Hey, Pen ... everything okay? Sorry I was out late, I got a little carried away. There's not enough time in a day ... I didn't expect to see you still awake. You're always pretty early to bed when I'm around,” you said, putting your backpack down on the ground and kneeling in front of her. “... why are you upset, Pen?”
Penny didn't respond for a moment. She calculated her next statement. It came out in a squeak, getting extremely choked up. She just sniffed and stood, trying to walk off. Penny made her way down the basement stairs wiping tears, and you were on your way right behind her.
“Hey,” you said, taking her hand in yours. “Please, talk to me. I'll listen, I promise. Anything that's on your mind, I'm all ears, 'kay?”
Penny couldn't look you in the eye. Her stomach was tied in knots and her voice was trembling. “S-Sorry, I just got all worried- I didn't know where you were and if you were safe and what you were doing- and- and- I was having a lot of bad thoughts and ... I'm sorry! I- ... I don't know why I freak out like this! ... m-my mom, she- ... y'know ... you know her.”
You nodded, listening to her stammer over her words. You gently placed the palms of your hands on her cheeks, holding her face and wiping her tears. “What can I do to stop those bad thoughts? I'll do anything you ask and then some, my love. What do you need me to do from now on?”
She looked into your eyes for the first time that night. They held so much love and care for her. But they held something much more important. They held the motivation that her mother lacked. Penny's eyes started dripping even faster, wrapping her arms around your neck and pulling you close. She sobbed into your shoulder for a moment, finally feeling like she was taken care of.
“J-Just ... let me know if you're gonna be out late, or somethin' ... and why, I guess? I- ... I'm sorry for being all needy, I just ... I-” Penny stammered on once more, before being silenced by your thumb pressing to her lips.
“You don't have to explain if you don't want to. I'm here to take care of you, regardless of why. I'll try my best to let you know, and I won't let you worry like that again. You don't have to worry about me, but I know you will anyway. Because you love me. And that's perfectly okay. Is there anything that we can do right now to make it better?” you asked, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.
She sniffed, trying to calm herself down. “Can we just ... rest? I wanna lay in your arms and uh- ... forget everything, if that's okay. I don't wanna think about all this stuff anymore,” she said in a gentle tone. She was weak, remembering all of the things she went through made her weak. She needed to rest.
You picked her up and carefully laid her down on the bed. Laying down beside her, you pulled her close to your chest and ran your fingers through her hair. You turned on the TV for some background noise, but neither of you were paying attention to it. She was fast asleep, her head resting carefully on your chest. She was lulled to sleep by the sound of your gentle heartbeat. You stayed awake for a little while, holding her and making sure she felt safe. The love you two shared could push through anything, even something like this.

The most awaited Flower Festival. Buckle up, simps.
Tumblr media
Spring 24
Four days.
Four freaking days since you had abruptly decided to avoid her.
And yes, she's definitely counting it.
What she didn't get is why? Why the sudden aversion?
Haley had tried to rack her brain for any reason, just anything but she couldn't find any. She tried to recall the events that night.
Haley took you home from the saloon because your ass was so drunk you couldn't even stand on your own feet without tripping.
And then there's... that.
With a heavy sigh, Haley placed her white dress for the flower dance on her bed.
She should have been excitedly preparing for the upcoming dance, but the stupid farmer had been occupying her mind today.
Even yesterday.
And even the day before that, and the day after that.
After your sudden declaration of 'feelings?' (yes, she's questioning because what the hell does that mean?), Haley had found herself speechless for the umpteenth time that night.
She couldn't find her voice, or rather, she didn't know how to respond to that. Fortunately, before she could, you shook your head as if you had said something silly.
Your moment of soberness dissipated completely as you slumped back to Haley. You had been a bit cooperative after that as both of you were able to go to your farm without any further hitch.
Haley was all but familiar with your farm. She had occasionally taken her pictures here when Old Railey was alive. She was fond of him.
He was kind and he kind of reminded her of her grandma. When he died, there was a large part of Haley that still grieves for him until now. Which is maybe why she was a bit apprehensive at you when she first came. At Haley's little time at Pelican town, she knew how much Old Railey sacrificed for the farm, to see it run down like that and be given to a complete stranger— a city girl no less, never mind you're his granddaughter.
But as she stood at the entrance of the farm, with the same farmer she loathed beside her, she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride as she saw the state of the farm for the first time since you moved here.
The once-overgrown grass and unruly weeds that had taken over the farm were now perfectly tamed. A neatly constructed wooden path led towards what Haley assumed was your cabin.
Despite the darkness surrounding her, she could spot a variety of spring crops flourishing in the distance. Blue jazz, cauliflower, green beans, parsnips, and many others were thriving under your care. While there were still renovations to be done, Haley couldn't help but be impressed by how well you were doing. As if you're really meant for farming.
The cabin looks freshly renovated, too. Last time she heard it was a bit crusty and on the verge of collapsing.
As Haley stepped into your home, she was greeted by a small ginger cat. The feline locked eyes with her for a moment, assessing her presence before realizing she meant no harm and had come with her owner.
Sensing Haley's intention, the cat let out a loud meow, leading her towards a closed door on the right, which she assumed to be your room.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly. Haley had managed to settle you on the bed and was ready to head home herself. However, it appeared that you had other plans.
You suddenly sat up straight and grabbed her hand as if sensing Haley was about to leave.
Haley looked at you, waiting expectantly.
And then it happened.
There's vomit.
It was everywhere—on Haley's pajamas, the blankets, and even your own shirt.
Haley wanted to scream in frustration, but worry had won over her disgust as she heard you have a coughing fit. She gently shook your shoulders, trying to get your attention.
"Are you okay?" she asked, concern lacing her words.
"I'm..." you coughed, voice strained, "my head hurts..."
And that's the sole reason Haley has to borrow some set of clothes from the farmer's wardrobe, change the bed sheets and blankets—
And...
Change your clothes.
The memory made Haley's cheeks burn with embarrassment, but she had no other choice. There was no way she could sleep beside you with vomit-stained sheets, and you smelling like that.
Haley's face flushed with embarrassment as a sudden realization hit her like a ton of Emily's hippie rocks.
Oh...
There's also one bed. You and her slept on the same bed.
So, it kinda makes sense now.
Why in Yoba's name has she just realized this now?
No wonder Emily had given her a funny look earlier when she had returned that morning wearing obviously your varsity shirt.
Haley had also completely missed the bright, bold letters spelling out "L/N" stitched on the back of the shirt, which is also why Penny couldn't look at her in the eyes when they crossed paths that morning when the redhead decided to visit you at the farm to check on you.
Yoba.
They must have thought that you and her had slept together.
And maybe you thought that, too as well.
The thought made Haley cringe and she facepalmed at the awkwardness of the situation.
It certainly didn't help that you couldn't remember anything from that night after your eighth bottle.
And to add to the mix-up, you had to wake up with a hangover and everything and seeing Haley casually cooking breakfast in your house while wearing your shirt.
It was practically a neon signboard pointing at her as if saying "hey, last night was an absolute blast, why don't I make you some breakfast while I'm here?"
Just great.
This is an absolute disaster.
****
"Is she joining the dance?" Haley wondered aloud, her eyes fixed on you who was engaged in a conversation with Penny, Maru, and Harvey.
"Hmm?" Alex paused in his fidgeting, adjusting his suit that had somehow grown on him. He followed Haley's gaze and spotted you amidst the group. "Oh, you mean Old Mac? I don't think so."
Haley turned to him with furrowed eyebrows," Old Mac? What's with you and all these people calling her all sorts of names? Why can't you just call her Y/n and stick with it?"
"Whoa, slow down, cowgirl." Alex barked out a laugh at her sudden outburst. "What's got your panties in a twist?"
"Nothing!" Haley replied, trying to brush off her frustration. Deep down, though, the different names people used for you bothered her more than she cared to admit.
And the worst of it all is she doesn't know why she's pissed.
She turned away as she began pacing back and forth in the middle of the performance area.
She needs to practice her moves. Despite being crowned the flower queen for five consecutive years and having the dance steps etched into her muscle memory, she didn't want to be so full of herself.
But in reality, she was just trying her absolute best to not let her eyes settle on someone who wasn't even looking her way.
Which she have found to be a challenge.
You looked dashing, if Haley would dare admit that aloud.
Your hair is down too in its slick, natural wave, which you usually tied up in a messy ponytail.
You looked pretty similar to the way you looked when you first arrived in the town though you forgo the black slacks in exchange of a more brighter blue one, the same shade of the ridiculous suits the men wore for the dance which have made her assume you'll be dancing as well.
But with whom?
Usually, there are already designated partners for the dance and it would be quite impossible for you to learn the steps in just a month.
Maybe Penny? Leah? Or that weirdo that dyes her head blue all the time? She assumed you were close with her when you dominated all the eggs Abigail was after which earned the kids to win during the egg festival.
Whatever.
Why would she care anyway? You weren't even looking in her direction. Not even noticing that Haley did her hair differently or that she had chosen to apply a more natural make-up because you told her she's pretty enough without them.
"Ah!"
The sound of cry from Alex had made her dash towards his place in alarm.
Sam was immediate to his side, along with the other townspeople. "What happened?" she asked in urgent.
"Sorry, pal. I may have thrown it a bit too far." Sam scratched his neck in shame.
"Samson!" Jodi angrily admonished her son. "Look just what you did!"
"Ow..." Alex grunted as he tried to reach for his foot. "I think I broke my ankle."
"Can you stand?" You questioned as you helped him up. "Why'd you even bring your grid ball here?"
"H-hah. I can but I don't think I can walk it off. Hey, gramps. Mind if I borrow your wheels?" He tried to joke it off.
"Alexander!" Evelyn wasn't pleased with ay all with his humor.
"Heh, I'll give you this if I could go back home and watch TV."
"George! Don't even encourage him."
"Ehem," Mayor Lewis cleared his throat, drawing the attention of the crowd. "The festival is about to begin in five minutes. Will you be able to dance, young man?"
"I don't think so." Alex immediately answered, causing Haley to snap her head towards him in disbelief.
"What do you mean you can't?" she exclaimed, her eyes widening. "How am I supposed to dance without a partner?"
She knew it was a selfish question but how can he be so stupid bringing his ball with him?!
A mischievous grin spread across Alex's lips as he pulled you closer, resting his hand on your shoulders. "Old Mac here can replace me. I already taught her the moves."
"What?" you choked, eyebrows raising so far it hid behind your bangs. "I don't..."
"You got this. There's no need to worry. In fact," he shrugged off his coat and handed it over to your shaking hands. "It doesn't fit me anymore. It'll probably suit you better."
"B-but..."
"Wouldn't it be better if Sam takes your place since he's already familiar with the dance?" Penny tentatively suggested as she eyed Haley. "I know how much winning the crown means to you, Haley. It might be best for Sam to step in for Alex, considering it was his fault too." She glanced apologetically at Sam. "Sorry, Sam. I can dance with Y/n/n instead."
"Um, no," Alex dismissed the idea with a wave of his hand. "Haley feels more comfortable dancing with Old Mac. That's more important."
"W-wait a second," Haley finally found her voice, her gaze still avoiding the person standing beside her. She could feel your eyes on her, and Haley wasn't ready just yet to see the look of refusal from your eyes. "Can't we get a say in this?!"
"Nope!" Alex chirped.
"Very well, then," Mayor Lewis interjected, clapping his hands together. "Let the festival begin!"
****
"You don't have to do this if you don't want to," Haley whispered, her hands trembling slightly as they held onto your neck. Her palms had grown clammy, and her racing heart seemed to drown out the lively rhythm of the music.
"Huh?"
Your voice held a hint of confusion, drawing Haley's gaze away from the ground to meet a pair of captivating gray eyes. The faintest tinge of pink colored your cheeks and your eyes struggled to hold steady.
You looked... bashful.
It also did not miss her how the hands securely wrapped around her waist were shaking as well.
"You were avoiding me." Haley finally said, and she commended her voice for not squeaking. "You don't want to dance with me."
"I..." You seemed taken aback by Haley's observation. "I wasn't..."
"Could've fooled me," Haley muttered under her breath as you gracefully twirled her around and pulled her back into your arms.
Despite the thick tension between you two, it looked like you really did actually perfected your moves and were able to dance in sync with Haley's.
"You wanted to dance with Penny, don't you?" She almost sounded accusatory.
"I don't." Your answer was swift. "I don't want to dance with anyone but you. And I wasn't avoiding you."
Haley avoided your gaze. "Where were you then? I haven't seen you in days. You haven't visited us for breakfast." Her grip on your coat tightened as she looked up from the taller woman. "If it was because of what happened that day, nothing happened, okay?"
As you twirled her once more, your bodies drew closer, so close that she could also see bits of hazel from your gray eyes.
Your cheeks burned once more as you muttered, "It's not that."
"Tell me," Haley demanded.
"I was out mining." You admitted sheepishly. "And maybe I was kind of avoiding you..." Your eyes started cringing at the glare Haley was giving you. "I was embarrassed that I puked on you. Alex told me it was your self-care day and... I know I ruined it for you. And now I ruined your dance."
Haley's gaze softened drastically. "Idiot," she mutters, her arms finally relaxing against your shoulder. "You haven't ruined anything." She told you simply.
"Yet," you added, chuckling.
As the tension dissipates, you grow a little bolder as your hands relaxed around her waist, pulling Haley a little tighter against you. The warmth radiating from your palms gave Haley a profound sense of security, one she haven't felt for a long, long time.
"You know," Haley whispered against your neck, relaxing against your embrace. She didn't care if this wasn't part of the choreography. "You smell good today."
She felt you smiled against her hair, "Had to smell my best for my queen, right?"

Hi,hi!! I absolutely love your fics; they keep me fed 🙏🙏 and I've come to make a Sam x afab!Reader request.
As much as I love Penny, her one sin is being Sam's counterpart. That said, if you're comfortable with it, maybe Penny's finally ready to confess her feelings to Sam, and she's walking to his house when she knows he's most likely to be home alone but she hears faint moans from his window..🙈

Penny would do it. Yeah, she would finally do it. Today. Or maybe tomorrow? Yeah, tomorrow would work better, right? She could go through what she wanted to say today and tell him tomorrow, yes. That sounded like a plan. A good plan. Perfect plan. Like she hadn't had that damn plan five consecutive days in a (censored) row.
Penny had decided: it had to be today. Or she would never do it.
The ginger had memerized the words by now, knew them by heart. If someone had woken her up at 3 in the night and yelled at her to speak, her practiced confession would be the first thing to fall from her lips. "Sam - I really like you. And I feel there is some kind of connection between us that I'd love to act upon. Would you perhaps like to go on a date with me?" Solid statement, clearly structured, giving him an option, just like she had read in all these books. The words even jumped off her tongue as she made her way to Sam's house - today would be a great day for this. She knew Jodi would be out with Caroline and Vincent would be with Jas - what could *possibly* go wrong? There was his window already, so why worry? It would be nice!
"Alright, Penny. You can do this. He probably won't even say no! Why am I beating myself up about it? Jee," she murmured, trying to hype herself up and dragging her feet at the same time. She tugged at her skirt as if it would grow any longer, tucked away strands of hair as if she hadn't stood in front of the mirror to brush them like that. She took another deep breath. She was 20 steps away from a nice date with her crush. So why didn't she take these last few steps?
Closing her eyes, she finally walked forward. 1, 2, 3, 456789- "Sam - I really like you-"
The words got stuck in her throat as soon as she heard it. Coming from Sam's window was a subtle sound, but she was close enough to hear it. It couldn't be, could it? Small huffs and puffs that definitely belonged to the blond. But then again- he was alone, so maybe he used the time to take care of "business"? She had read that taking care of "business" was healthy, so he wasn't really to blame. But what now? Should she just turn around and go? Probably, yes. Anything else would have been a breach of trust - and Penny had always had a good morale compass. So why did it feel like her legs were chained to the ground? Why was there this sickening twist in her stomach, urging her to step closer? And why, for heaven's sake, were her legs obeying that?
She had taken another step closer. And another. "Just another small one," she told herself, promised herself. There wasn't any need to step closer, there wasn't- oh God, she had heard him groan. It was low, deep. A little like his voice, and yet so much more gravelly. "That's it, fuuuuuuck, yeah, that's fuckin' it!"
Her ears were burning with hot embarrassment, hearing those words, so obviously moaned, hearing him curse- she felt a pulse go through her like a lightning bolt, making her clit throb in her panties. Penny frantically looked over her shoulders, one way, then the other, quickly pressing her thighs together. She should really go now, go home and wait for Sam to be done. Return tomorrow. Totally not step up to the window like she was doing now!
Then again- it was okay, right? They'd probably be dating by tonight anyway, right?
Another pulse, this time going through her core. She could feel that she was getting slick down there, nervosity bleeding into excitement. She would have never admitted it, but she had always wondered what Sam looked like naked. She knew he was athletic and strong, very well aware of the fact that he could easily pick her up- God, the thought alone made her feel all giddy.
"Fuuuuuuck, yes, Yoba, fuck."
If she hadn't been sure by then, she was now. Finger tips pressing to the windowsill out of Sam's window, Penny got onto her tippy toes to take a peek. Just a tiny, little peek, promise!
There he was, making her heart skip a beat in her chest. Muscular back turned toward the window, head thrown back in his neck, his blond hair all messy as his hips worked forward. Penny almost *moaned* at the sight, seeing her crush so vulnerable, in such a state of bliss.
She was so enthralled that it took her a while to realize that there were a pair of legs wrapped around these slender bucking hips, and the fact that there was another string of moans bleeding into Sam's. It took her a while to realize that Sam wasn't alone, and that he wasn't taking care of his "business" by himself. That he wasn't moaning for whatever scenario he made up in his head, but for you.
"Saaahammm," your voice whined, strained with the rough fucks that made your body shake.
All color drained from Penny's face. Sam...Sam...was having sex with the farmer?
Her hands clasped over her mouth, eyes wide open as she started at the two figures. She couldn't see much of you, but she could hear you now, loud and clear, loud and *full of pleasure*. You babbled his name in hiccuped moans, your legs clenching tighter around him whenever he hit a spot, your hands sprawled our on his back, scratching down the pale skin whenever your moans grew a little more high-pitched.
"That's it, baby, thaaaaats fuckin it! Love th-this Lil pussy, baby, *shiiiit*, don't want anyone else's," he panted, thrusting faster inside of you as if to make a point. Penny could feel tears well in her eyes, but that didn't mean she looked away. No, quite the opposite. She pressed her upper body against the window sill, leaning in a little further, trying to make out more of the two of you.
Sam was fucking you quickly, fucking you like she deserved. She had been Sam's friends for years! She had been the one that had a crush on him for years! And now you were the one having sex with him? Good sex, at that? You seemed to enjoy yourself, given the way you gasped for air, begged for more. And Sam, like a dog, delivered. Humped into you, stroking his hands up and down your sides while praising you.
It should have been her! Her jaw was clenched as her hands slid down her skirt, under the fabric of her panties. Her jaw was clenched when she realized that she was wet, and the tears started to flow when she began to rub at her clit.
"My girl, my pretty, goregous girl," Sam slurred, making Penny's breath hitch, her clit pulsing under the gentle, steady rub of her fingers. She could be his good girl, his perfect, pretty, goregous girl. Not the farmer.
"Mhhhmng! Sam! Fuck! I- you are *so* deep," you moaned back, making the blond chuckle breathlessly. "Just howcha like it, baby- know what my girl wants- cunt suckin' me off so well, fuck, do I *love* you, baby..."
Love you? Was that the reason he had gotten so distant the last few months? God, she had thought he had become shy! A small sob left her lips as she pushed a finger inside of her, desperate to replicate the feeling of the rough fuck you must have been receiving.
The high-pitched moan that came from both your and Sam's throats were caught by Penny, swallowed down with a sense of bitterness. He loved you? Yeah? She didn't want him anyway. Didn't want you as a friend either. Didn't want to watch your bodies intertwine, didn't want to admit *how* wet it made her. How hard she had to bite back not to moan, especially when your moans became so beggy and high pitched. She hated that she was fucking her cunt with two fingers in the middle of the daylight while watching her crush and his...his...girlfriend? Fuck. And yet it made her stomach twist and tie in a way that she had never felt before. A burning pit of lust and desire, and yet also ice cold jealousy.
"G-gonna cum!" "Cum for me, baby, cum-" he slurred, making Penny speed her fingers up as if he meant her, the arousal making her cheeks flush. She could hear you sob for Sam as he groaned, the blond holding you closer to his chest as he fucked into you hard, making her head fall against the wall of his house, eyes closing as she felt the waves of her orgasm sift through her.
It took Penny a few shaky breaths before she could stand upright again, taking a glance into the bedroom again. There you were, pressed against one another, holding one another, Sam whispering sweet nothings to you.
She pulled her fingers away abruptly, scoffing as she smeared the wetness on the window sill, turning around with her chin held high.
"Sam - fuck you."
Deep inside, though, perverted excitement lingered.

ꨄStardew Valley Headcannons: Artist farmer leaves a sketch for their love interest to find ꨄ
This took me so long to write, I’ll cry if this flops, but its fine ;-;
I might draw out the poses honestly… gives me something to do hehe Xp
No warnings, fluff, comfort, GN!Reader
Ask box: Open 💙
~Maldo
ᡣ𐭩 Penny ᡣ𐭩: Ooooh this sweet child, I just want to take her away from all of her troubles-
~It’s been a long day for Penny. She’s been spending most of the day tutoring Vincent and Jas, taking them out into the wilderness and to the library. Standing outside for a moment while the rain pelted the library rooftops. Of course, eagerly chatting with farmer while they ran around town doing their usual chores.
~ Between all that of course she’d have a altercation with her mother. Nothing she can’t handle but that dosen’t mean it dosen’t hurt any less. So, she practically dragged her feet back to her camper (RV? Whatever that thing is called).
~She reaches out for the handle of the door, then she stops. What this…?Her eyes blowing open slightly as she sees a neat envelope sticking out of the crack in the door. She see’s her name written in a sparkly gel pen as she retrieves from the door. Her heart starts to beat a bit harder in chest…
~She carefully opens the envelope. The scent of a sweet smelling perfume pulls at her heart strings further. Someone must have put a lot of thought into this little gift…for her…?
~Unfolding the paper from inside, she takes in a sharp breath. It’s a portrait drawing, of her sitting in fields. It’s gorgeous… It looks exactly like her… Penny marvels at each pencil stroke. Even the little smudges at the ends of the paper catch her eye. She almost feels like crying. And a single tear does fall when she sees the signature at the bottom.
From: (Farmer)
~The farmer, as if one Que, appears behind her. “Oh you found it! I was worried it might-“
~She can’t hold herself back from throwing her arms around the farmer and hugging them tight. The farmer returning the embrace happily. Penny didn’t know how the farmer knew, but she needed to see this after the kind of day shes had.
~She frames the drawing and keeps it in a special place her mother can’t find. Often looking at it when she needs a pick me up and instantly she feels a little better about life.
ᡣ𐭩Shane ᡣ𐭩 Disclaimer: Due to my own personal experiences/triggers I’ve been warned by my friends I shouldn’t play his route and I’ve only really picked up things here and there so it may not be perfect, but I still want to include him as he is still very deserving of affection. That being said, this is where farmer and Shane have a few hearts between each other and he dosen’t hate them entirely ^^
~Another late night walking back alone to his Aunt’s house from the saloon. His head is swimming with all the beer in his veins, swaying from side to side on his feet as he walks. Eventually arriving to his doorstep, through his blurry visions. He makes out his name on the front of his door. “Shaaane… thats my name.”
~His a bit confused at first. Reaching out to touch the letters of his name written in the sparkling gel ink. That’s when realized his name is written on an envelope of some kind. The confusion on his face only deepens. What kind of joke was this? He certainly wasn’t laughing.
~He grumbled as he fumbled with opening the letter. Revealing the picture of himself with his chicken Charlie… He blinks… and blinks again… He stares at the picture for a long time. His drunken mind unable to process what his looking at. At the bottom of the page he reads:
“From (Farmer)”
~He feels a tightness form in his chest. He almost wants to be angry the farmer left this for him to find… Yet… he thumbs over the thin strides of ink forming his face.
~After several minutes of just standing there holding the drawing, he carefully tucks the drawing into his coat pocket. Wondering inside and briefly forgetting about it as he throws himself into bed to sleep off the hangover. The farmer somehow finding themselves into his dreams.
~He won’t bring up the drawing for a few days I think. Not exactly knowing what to say. It isn’t until he sees the farmer one random afternoon buying supplies from Marnie that he catches them before they leave.
“Uhh, thanks for this.” He takes the folded piece of paper out from his pocket, unable to look the farmer in their eyes. “It’s nice…”
ᡣ𐭩Maru ᡣ𐭩
She’s having her afternoon sit near the saloon. Enjoying the warm air and peaceful chirping of the birds near by. Penny usually does by to sit with her sometimes, but she’s pleasantly surprised to find the farmer waving at them. A brand new battery pack in their hand, instantly she perks up, wondering if perhaps…
~ It is! She’s overjoyed to receive another battery pack from the farmer. Maru already knows the exactly project she’ll use it for. She waves the farmer good bye as they have other things to do.
~Once they’ve gone. Something feels different… about this battery pack. Sitting back down and inspecting the object more closely. She noticed theres something attached to the battery. An envelope with her name written on it. “Hmmm?”
~Cursorily, she thumbed the letter open. Using the upmost of care to unravel the drawing inside. Her eyes went wide with surprise. A drawing of her at the clinic writing something on a clipboard. It was so… life like. Just by looking it over, Maru could tell it was done with care. She smiled fondly. A loud, she read: “From, (Farmer)
~Quickly, she hurried after the farmer, hoping they hadn’t gotten to far. Seeing them about to head back to their farm, she blitzed it. Hugging them from behind as she reached them. “Thank you farmer! This is the best!”
~Another one to frame it and place it somewhere special. Considers it one of her most prized possessions.
ᡣ𐭩Sebastian ᡣ𐭩
~Lizard blinking at 10am in the morning. Sebastian reaches to turn the alarm off on his phone. He groans and grumbles for a few minutes before deciding to sit up and move over to his computer. He placed his fingers on his keyboard, the abruptly stopped when he felt a strange sensation on the pads of his fingers.
~Tilting his head, he spotted… an envelope His name written in a neat sparkly cursive. Ugh… he hoped this wasn’t a joke from his mother. He carelessly ripped the envelope open, though he was careful with the contents inside. Unfolding the paper, his eyes landed on a drawing of him… one of him working on his motorcycle. One of the corners of the page reading: From (Farmer)
~Sebastian.exe has stopped working-
~He takes a slow deep breath in, heart beating wildly inside his chest. He found the gesture to be so… sweet. Sebastian admires the piece for a long while before he can focus on anything. He places it somewhere safe but where he can still admire it within his working space. It’s all he can think about for the entire days (And probably for several days after)
~In the evening time, he purposely places himself near the mines so he can show his appreciation to the farmer. He waves them over as soon as he sees them. He becomes a little shy rubbing the back of his neck nervously, but he does want to say something. “Hey, I found the drawing on my desk… Thank you… That was very kind of you…” Will hesitate to go in for a hug but if farmer meets them halfway he will gladly embrace them.
ᡣ𐭩Leahᡣ𐭩 Disclaimer#2: I haven’t tried to romance Leah yet and I know the very baseline of her personality so I apologize (again) if this one isn’t perfect but also still wanted to include her.
~Leah’s been inside her small home for most of the afternoon working on her latest project. Deciding to take a stroll through town to take a small break and stretch her limbs out. She opens her door and catches the glimpse of something fluttering downward and landing on her door mat. An envelope? What could this be?
~ Inspecting the object, she traces her finger over her name. Some of the glitter from the Gel pen rubbing off. She can’t hide the smile that creeps onto her face. She’s a bit giddy over receiving something so mysterious and thoughtful!
~She opens the letter and finds the portrait of herself inside. She’s smiling happily with her house in the background. Lead is amazed by the penmanship. Her eyes glaze over every detail, her heart swelling with emotion. At the bottom of the page is a signature: From (Farmer). She lets out a happy squeal and lightly presses the drawing to her chest.
~Quickly, she runs inside to find a frame for the piece. Placing it on a special place on her wall where she can easily admire it. Then she takes off into town as originally planned. Now with a new motive in mind.
~She’s happy to find the farmer running around town. Lead quickly catches them and pulls them into a warm hug. “Farmer! I didn’t know you could draw! I love the gift you left for me! We should have drawing sessions together!” She’s just so happy and excited to have someone to relate too and the gesture was so sweet to her.
ᡣ𐭩Sam(son) ᡣ𐭩
~Okay, okay, so his already well into his morning routine before he notices anything. He comes back into his room to retrieve his skateboard when he then notices something tapped to it. An envelope with his name written on it. He eyes cursorily as he picks it up. Honestly having no idea what the letter could possibly be about.
~Opening it up, he find the drawing of him on his skateboard. A really well done drawing of him on his skateboard. “Wow.” He grips both ends of the paper and takes a moment to admire it. Eventually finding the signature at the bottom corner of the page. From: (Farmer).
~He breaks out into a wide smile. He can feel the warmth of his own face and his heart swoons. He places the drawing on his dresser before taking off without his skateboard. He briefly pauses outside, having mean to have grabbed it. But his brain is spinning so much he just waves off the skateboard and takes off on foot to see if the farmer might be wondering around somewhere.
~And his right. He catches them coming out of the community center. He approaches them with a smile thats returned to him. “So, when did you have time to sneak into my room hm?” He teases lightly, and they share a laugh together. “Hey but really, that was really nice of you. You’re really talented!”
~Another one to become shy when he goes in for a hug but once he feels the farmer wrap their arms around him, his content.
~He’ll stick around a moment to catch up with farmer, inviting them to hangout with him and his friends sometime at the saloon. He gives them one last hug before letting them get back to their work. The whole walk home his smiling like his on top of the world.
~ Tapes up the drawing somewhere in his room, his mom asks him about one time and he blushed the whole time as he explained the farmer gave it to him. Mom finds it sweet and teases her son about it.
ᡣ𐭩 Haleyᡣ𐭩
~ Haley opens the door to her shared home and finds the farmer standing there, mud and all, trying to place the envelope of the frame of her door. They stare at each other for a moment before he nose scrunches up as she notices the mud caked around their boots. “What are you doing?” She asks a bit dryly before she notices her name inscribed on the letter.
~”Oh! Is that for me?” She plucks the letter from the farmers hand before they have anytime to explain themselves. They stand there awkwardly as she doesn’t hesitate to rip the letter open. Revealing the drawing of her with her camera. Her face turns into one of surprise, a little oh leave her lips. it’s a bit hard to tell at first if she likes the drawing…
~Then she smiles gleefully. Spinning around with the drawing still in her hands and hugging it to her chest (not so gently as Leah but the drawings fine ^^). She goes to hug the farmer but stops when they realize they’re still covered in mud. So, instead, she gently lays her hand on their shoulder, giving it a light squeeze.
~”You made me look so pretty! Thank you! If you maybe… clean up a little maybe you can join Emily and I for dinner?” The farmer happily agrees. At dinner time is when Haley hugs them properly now that their clean. Even going as far as to compliment the shampoo they used. “So much better now that all the mud is gone!” (It’s a compliment, I promise)
~At dinner time, the farmer can see Haley’s placed the drawing in a frame and has it in her living room where everyone can gaze upon her beauty capture by the farmer.
ᡣ𐭩 Harveyᡣ𐭩
~”Alright (Farmer), just take this medication as directed and make sure to stay hydrated okay? And try to be careful in those mines!” Harvey’s gives the farmer a friendly smile as they are discharged from their clinic. Linus having brought them him when he found them exhausted in mines some time during the day. He was glad to see they were alright and hoped they found some time to get some rest.
~As his going to finalize his paperwork and pass it on to Maru, he sees an envelope on top of his other paperwork… when did that get there? He read his name on the letter, lightly pulling it from his clip board. He rest up against the counter, pulling the drawing from inside. A drawing of him taking a stroll through the patchy area in town. It’s so lovely… it takes him a moment to realize it is him. “From… (Farmer)”
~His so touched by the kind gesture he just stand there for a long time. Maru has to come find him to notify him he has Marnie waiting for him and he quickly has to tuck away the piece of paper in his coat. Clearing his throat and desperately trying to compose himself. “Sir your face is a little red are you okay?”
Stutters out a: “O-Oh yes! I-I’m fine just a little warm is all.”
~His a little distracted throughout the day and he can’t seem to stifle the rapid beating of his heart. His already thinking of something he can give to the farmer as appreciation… but he can’t seem to find anything he deems would speak his gratitude… Oh well maybe…!
~After locking up the clinic for the day, he catches the farmer out of the corner of his eye. He hollers for them and smiles brightly as they approach him. He lightly scolds them for not being in bed and resting, but quickly forgives them when they show him the bottle of water tucked away in their overalls (Or however farmer may carry this item ^^)
~”Oh and thank you for the uh… letter you left me. That was nice of you…” Is a blushing red mess and his nervously fiddling with his hands. “Um don’t worry about the bill this time. I’ll take care of it… just this one.” His startled when the farmer hugs him out of nowhere. The scent of the earth coming of their clothes makes his mind go a little blank., though deep down he enjoys the interaction.
~Has the drawing carefully tapped onto his clipboard so he always had it with him.
ᡣ𐭩Emilyᡣ𐭩
~Emily’s happily bursts through the doors of the saloon for her shift. There dosen’t seem to be too many patrons yet as she walked over to the other side of the counter. Gus appeares suddenly and catches her attention. “Hey! Secret admirer left this for you.” He claims with a wink as he slides over an envelope to her.
~”Oh! A secret admirer?” She looks at her name on the letter fondly. Closing her eyes as she holds it up above her face, almost if she were trying to conjure a face of who would have left this for her. The anticipation becomes too much as none of the faces she makes seem’s right. She impatiently opens the letter and finds the drawing of her dancing elegantly inside.
~She gasps and her eyes double in size…. Then promptly screams in absolute delight, jumping up and down on her feet. Gus shaking his head and smiling in the back ground while he prepares for the salon. “Make sure to read the bottom left corner.” When Emily hears this, she seizes her jumping and looks back at the drawing. From: (Farmer)
~ It’s at that exact moment farmer walks through the front doors. Emily sequels happily upon seeing them. Immediately running to practically jump into their arms. “(Farmer)! This is so sweet, I love it so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you!” She gives you a tender kiss on the cheek that has farmer melting. Me too farmer, me too.
~Invites them to have a drink at the bar while she works. Every so often coming over to talk with them. Anyone can tell she has an extra pep in her step and her eyes are dazzling every chance she speaks with the farmer.
~ Frames the drawing and places it in a special spot in her room. Frequently picks it up and talks to it as if it the farmer themselves.
ᡣ𐭩Elliotᡣ𐭩
~Elliot is peacefully taking his afternoon walk, his mind a bit busy with thinking about his writings. On his way back, he crosses paths with the farmer. Seemingly in a mad dash to get where they were going, though they do wave at each other and smile before they disappear from his sight.
~Upon returning home, he instantly spots the envelope on his door. “My, my, what is this?” He says to himself, gingerly picking up the letter and delicately prying it open. Inside, is a beautiful drawing of him at his piano. A hushed gasp leaves his lips. He covers his mouth with his finger tips as his in pleasant shock. His eyes travel all over the drawing until he finds the signature at the bottom. From: (Farmer)
~He shakes his with a smile on his face. “Oh, that farmer.” He speaks lovingly. He takes the drawing inside where he sets it on his piano like a sheet of music. Theres something brand new brewing in his mind. He sits himself before the piano, fingers tapping away at the keys experimentally. Until theres a new song dancing on them. It’s not long before his scribbling notes on blanks sheet music.
~Before the sun goes down, Elliot decides to take one final stroll through town. In hopes to find the farmer still running their many errands. Lucky for him, he finds them doing just that. Snagging them as gently as he by the arm, he playfully swings them around. “There you are (Farmer)! If I may have a few moments of your time.”
~Sits them down on the nearest bench and shows them the song he wrote for them. (Yay swooning yet?) Together they sit and chat long after the suns gone down. Invites them over the following day so he can preform said song for them. “For your art of me. I was touched by it (farmer), allow me to show you my appreciation.
~The drawing sits on one side of his piano much like sheet music
ᡣ𐭩Abigail ᡣ𐭩
~Abigail is wondering the valley late into the evening. Hitting all of her usual spots and now headed for the graveyard. It’s a pretty normal evening when she first arrives. Then theres something laying on the ground that catches her eye. An envelope with her name on it, sitting in the middle of a gravestone. “Ooooh, spooky!”
~She reached for the envelope and looks over the writing. She turns it over a few times to see if there’s anything else mysterious about the object. When she dosen’t find anything more, Abigail opens the letter. Finding a drawing of her playing her instrument in a majestic looking manner. “From: (Farmer)”
~She holds the drawing up to the light to admire the details closer. She’s so touched by the gesture. She has half the mind to run over to the farmers house right now. But decided to simply find them in the morning. By the time she gets there, they’ll be long asleep.
~Best believe as soon as she wakes up for the day shes at the farmers door knocking. When they open the door, she dosen’t waste a second in throwing her arms around the farmers neck in an embrace. “Thank you so much for the drawing! It’s beautiful! I had to come over and say thank you!”
~She’ll stay awhile and chat with the farmer before heading home. But not before she invites them over to possibly have a game night or hangout at the salon.
~Frames the picture and has it in her room where she sees it at least once each day.
ᡣ𐭩Alexᡣ𐭩
~His outside throwing the football to himself before deciding to come inside. His grandparents are out and about at the moment, so he decides to sit at the kitchen table. Once his settled, he noticed something on the table. White envelope sitting undisturbed with his name on the front.
~Thinking its a note from his grandmother, he opens it without a second thought. His face drops when he sees the drawing of him inside. Football in hand. He gawks for a moment, totally caught off guard by the illustration. At the bottom he finds the infamous signature: From: (Farmer)
~He smirks at the discovery. Leaning his head into his palm while still holding the paper with admiration in his eyes. His ears momentarily perk up as he hears a familiar voice outside. His granny, and behold, the farmer themselves!
~Alex quickly gets up from his chair and quickly makes his way outside. Nearly running into his grandmother, she walks inside with a happy, knowing smile on her face. Chasing after the farmer, he catches them just in time. “Running away when you’ve left me such a charming gift?” His smirking but his mostly playing around.
~ Chats with the farmer and manages to slip in they should come over for dinner with him and his grandparents. To which farmer gladly agrees.
~While Alex was away flirting with the Farmer, his grandmother finds the image on the table and decides to place it on the fridge. Alex dosen’t have the heart to move and honestly its the perfect place for it.

This might seem quick but I've honestly been thinking about this since I got to Ginger Island for the first time many months ago, I just needed a push to finally draw it /)///(\ so here's the gist of the idea + my redesign of Leo!
Screen reader friendly text from the first image, since I didn't think it would fit in alt text:
Shipwrecked at 7 years old, he's 10 now
Parents fell overboard, he stayed with the wrecked boat waiting for them for weeks
Knows how to sew, began to adorn his parents' extra clothes from the ship with dried grass and feathers as he outgrew his own clothes
Hair is overgrown and tangled, naturally curly
Mal and Alex (now in their 30's) end up on Ginger Island at Willy's insistence (Willy is there for illegal fishing reasons, but they're there for a camping vacation) and they come across Leo who has been stalking them from the trees for several days before they notice.
Instant parental instinct kicks in for them both, they spend time with him trying to figure out why he's there and if he's alone, eventually deciding they can't leave him alone in good conscience.
Cleaned up and detangled Leo, wearing Mal and Alex's childhood clothes :3
"I like having long hair, it's like my feathers! Squawk!!"

warnings: penny being a cutie, that's it lmao
requested by: @pan-pixie , thank you so much for the request! we stan fellow penny enjoyers. i love penny so much, and this request is really really cute!
Tumblr media
• Penny loves helping out around the farm, anything to help the love of her life! Her love language is acts of service, so you can see her doing this a ton. She does little things for you all the time, so it's not uncommon to see her working on the farm.
• Her favorite chore is working in the barn. She loves the sheep, she thinks they're really soft and they're really sweet. She also loves the coop as well, mainly for the rabbits. Fluffy animals are her forte! You can often catch her sitting on the floor, stroking a rabbit, or softly talking the sheep through getting sheered. She talks to them like they were people, and it's really sweet to hear her. Sometimes you just press your ear against the door and listen if she's in there.
• “Oh, it's okay, Mr. Sheep! It's only gonna take a second to get all that wool off of you, we don't want you to have a heatstroke! I know, you might get a little cold, but that's what the outside's for! It'll be okay ...”
• She HATES chopping down trees and cracking rocks in the yard. It's not her thing at all, she's terrified of a tree falling down on her or a rock cutting her as she walks by. She would do it if you asked her to, but you refrain from it, not wanting to get her nervous or anxious. She's not as nervous as she was when she lived with Pam, but something's still get her a little worried.
• “Y-You want me to chop down trees? ... are you sure there's not anything else I can do? I'll go out and do whatever you were planning to do today instead! I promise I'll make it up to you- no, I'm gonna make it up to you! I know it's okay to say no ... but I want to. What's your plans for today?”
• Picking fruits and vegetables from the garden is also pretty calming for her, she often hums while she picks. She hates how dirty her hands get, but she'll deal with it. Usually your pet will come keep her company, rubbing up against her leg as she digs a parsnip out of the ground. She's especially happy doing it during the summer, and on breaks you can occasionally see her snacking on one of the freshly picked melons. Definitely a good reward after a long day.
• “Sweetheart, take a bite of this melon! It's perfectly ripe, I think you'll love it! ... Yay! Let's definitely save some, I'll go make room for them in the fridge! ... you don't have to thank me, love. I promise!”
• If you have a fruit bat cave, she doesn't like going in there either. It's all dark and there's flying creatures that could attack her! Yeah, that's an immediate fear factor in there. When you showed it to her, you had to hold her hand and let her hide behind you as she peaked over your shoulder. She's not touching that cave with a ten foot pole.
• “Sorry for acting like such a coward ... it's just, I'm not really great with those things ... I know I don't have to say I'm sorry, but- ... okay, I really love you, and thank you for respecting my boundaries. You're the greatest, my dear.”
• However, she loves you. She loves doing things for you, and seeing your reaction to when she does things for you is priceless. Make sure to tell her that her efforts were worth it, and give her a forehead kiss. And tell her that she did a good job, she can't get enough of that. She deserves it.

Flower Dance with the Flower Queen 🌸
Look at my Keo go woo!!! They are so in love,,
I also made another doodle—
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was this one cutscene where Penny, Abigail, Sam and Sebastian were hanging out together at the saloon (I know for a fact that Penny wouldn’t step her foot there but lets ignore that part) yet Penny couldn’t fit in the group even though she was invited by Sam.
So Sam decided to play pool together, which then the farmer come in and checked them out. I had a choice between having Penny group up with Sebastian since he’s a pro, or group up with the farmer, who also doesn’t know how to play em.
Ofc I chose to group up with Penny cuz shes my ex. I still love her aha *cries*
Okay when I first got this cutscene I thought it was from the game itself, then I realised its from a mod I downloaded (Penny Expanded Mod),, but I still wanna draw this, so yeah.

Um, hi! I'm new and I really like your works!
I want to make a request for Haley and Penny (separate) if that's okay with you!
Scenario: how would they react when they find out that their s/o, the farmer, used to be a member of the Mafia? A hitman to be exact, but they've changed and left that life behind.
I don’t think I’ve ever done a full on headcanon before, but I figured why not!
Instead of doing mini fics for only two characters, I am going to attempt to write these thoughts into a slightly coherent but readable mess. WARNING: These do not all end happily. Some are very heavy angst and they break up with you.
-------------------------------------------------------------
“There’s… something I need to tell you,” the farmer began, rubbing the back of their neck while they looked away from the person in front of them. Someone that they’ve come to love, to trust enough to finally open up to, and someone who might understand.”Before moving to Stardew… I was... Part of a very bad crowd,” they pause and take a deep breath. “Not just a little group of delinquents that spray paint the side of buildings.
“Something.. Far worse. I know that you might view me differently because of this but– I want you to know who I truly am. I never want to lie to you, and while I wanted to keep this secret buried deep inside; I care about you too much to allow you to continue dating me without knowing…
“I was a hired killer, an assassin, a hitman.”
-------------------------------------------------------------
Alex
“Hey, man, you don’t have to lie to me to look cool,” Alex laughed and gave you a thumbs up. “You’re already really cool in my book.”
You grimace before saying, “Alex, I’m not lying.”
“Oh,” he breathes out. A minute passes, the gears turning in his head as he thinks it over. “Ohhh.”
“Yeah, oh,” you reply. “I understand if you need some space–”
Alex leaned back into his bed, letting himself land softly on his back. “Gramps has killed a few guys, so I’m not really worried about it.”
You look down at him and raise a single brow, “Wasn’t that in war though?”
“It was, but it’s the same thing, isn’t it?”
“Not.. really.”
Alex shrugs and sighs, “if you asked him for stories, he would spend the rest of the day telling you every single bloody detail. I’ve heard them all a thousand times.” He sat up, dropping her face to a sneer and pulled his lips back. “During that war,” he began, perfectly mimicking his grandfather. “I killed fitty men! I collected their earlobes and wore them around my neck like a trophy!”
You laughed, bumping your shoulder into Alex. “Okay, that’s a little fucked up actually.”
“You haven’t even heard the worst of it,” he answered with a grin. “He likes to tell this story about the time they had to go save some guy–”
“Wait,” you cut him off, gently placing your fingertips against his lips to stop him. “I just.. I want you to know that I love you, and that all of that shit is in the past… but I understand if you want nothing to do with me after this.”
Alex pushed your hands away with his lips, laughing again as he pulled back. “It’s alright, I get it. Just don’t keep anything else from me, okay?”
You nodded and pulled him into your arms, giving him a good squeeze. “I promise.”
Alex slid out of your arms and ran to his bedroom door, swinging it open before playfully glaring at you. “As punishment for not telling me in the first place!” He took a really deep breath filling his lungs before shouting “Grandpa! The farmer wants to hear all your war stories!”
Alex wasn’t scared of you. Afterall, nothing you’ve done could ever compare to the stories he grew up with. He knew his grandpa regretted the choices he made, but sometimes, you have to do cruel things to survive.
Elliott
Elliott quickly grabbed his wine, downing the glass in one huge gulp before placing it back onto the table. “What you’re telling me,” he whispered, his gaze focused on the empty wine glass. “You’re being truthful? This isn’t a jest?”
“No,” you answered, scooting your chair closer to his. “Just.. I know you’re in shock right now, but please just give me a chance to explain–”
“This is wonderful news!” Elliott jumped up from his chair, darting to a notebook that lies open with scribbles across the pages. He sprinted back, throwing himself back into the chair as harshly it nearly toppled over with him in it. “Tell me, what does another man’s eyes look like as you choke the life out of him?”
“W-what?” you stammered, glancing down at the notebook that was now on the table where Elliott held his quill above it, ready to write. “Are you trying to get a confession from me?”
“Heavens no!” He replied with a laugh, putting his quill down and turning to grab your hands. “My next novel is a murder mystery! I would love to have your feedback.”
“You’re kidding,” you replied, your mouth hanging open.
“Not at all, my love!” Elliott smiled so brightly, you would have thought you just told him his book had a million sales; not that you used to kill people for a living. “It truly is destiny that we were to meet!”
“Do… Are you okay with my past?”
“Ah,” Elliott nodded, understanding now why you seemed so hesitant with your words. “We all have our demons, don’t we, darling? If I were ever to judge every person I knew by the skeletons in their closet.. Well, life wouldn’t be very fun, now would it?”
“I’m…” you tried to focus, confusion swirling in your head making everything foggy and hard to follow. “What?”
Elliott was already back to his notebook, licking the pad of his thumb while he flipped through the pages. “This part here,” he held the book out to you, the page filled with brainstorms and more messy scribbles. “Could you fact check it for me? I honestly don’t know what a man sounds like when he gets stabbed like this. Also, the shoulder would be a good spot for them to survive from a stab, right?”
You laughed, shaking your head at this ridiculous man. “Well, actually, there’s a main artery that going along the shoulder–”
Part of you wasn’t surprised that Elliott was excited to discuss bloody, brutal, cold murder with you. Although, the writer did make a point the next day to scold you for keeping the secret from him. He could have finished his novel even sooner, and… he could have told you how much he loves you and would never give you up.
In fact, he would help you get away with murder.
Harvey
“No,” Harvey stood abruptly, his knee hitting his kitchen table and nearly knocking his coffee over, the hot liquid jumping out of the mug and onto the table. “Shoot!” he cried as the coffee landed on some of his folders that were spread out.
You joined him in grabbing napkins, trying to clean the coffee before it caused too much damage.
“I can’t believe this,” he whispered as he tossed the dirty napkins aside, uncaring of where they would land. “Not you, not my farmer, no…”
You pressed your lips together, trying to hold back your emotions. “Harvey–”
Then he broke before you, a sob ripping through his throat right before he began sobbing. His glasses getting wet and foggy as he let each tear slide down his cheeks. “Not you…”
“Please, I just–”
Harvey straightened up, taking a deep breath and forced himself to meet your eyes. “I have dedicated my whole life to helping those who need it. I took an oath to assist any single soul that cries for help. If a patient dies on my table, I have to live with that for the rest of my life. The rest of my life knowing that I couldn’t do enough for them!”
Your eyes widen, dread filling you as you realize this is the end. “Harvey, please–”
“Get out,” he growled, his voice deep, dangerous, and oozing with hatred.
“Let me explain–”
“For you to come to me, and tell me that you took human lives for your own gain? I don’t need to hear another word,” Harvey took a step towards you, his body tensing, preparing to fight you if he must. “Get the fuck out of my home.”
Everything in you wanted to stay, to fight for what you had…
You left, crying on your way back to the farm, your heart shattered beyond repair.
Sam
“For real?” Sam's face scrunched in disbelief. “No, you’ve gotta be joking. Ain’t no way the hot farmer killed some dudes.”
While your hands may have been tough from constantly working in the dirt, Sam could never imagine in a million years that you would kill a fly on the wall, let alone another human being!
“Is it April Fool’s? It is, isn't it?” he joked and nudged you. “Well, you got me–”
“Sam,” you breathed out in reply, the truth hanging between you.
“Holy shit,” Sam stood slowly, taking a step back from you. “You’re serious? You’ve actually killed people?”
“Yes.”
“Dude…” he ran a hand through his wild hair, not caring how the gel stuck to his fingers.
He needed more information, but right now, he needed to make one thing clear.
“Look,” he started and made his way back to you, dropping himself on his mattress next to you. “Like, I’m not gonna dump you over this; but keeping that from me was seriously not cool.”
“I know,” you mumbled in reply and offered a weak smile. “I just–”
Sam raised a hand, cutting you off. “No, we’re gonna talk about this later, after we’ve both had some pizza, and maybe a couple… or an entire case of beer. You’re gonna break all this shit down for me, and then we’re gonna talk about how you’re doing like.. Mentally. After doing all that shit.”
“Mentally?” you asked with a laugh. “What--”
“Nope,” Sam stood and grabbed your hand. “Pizza first, you asshole. I can’t believe you killed people, so fucking weird.”
Sam was in it for the long run, and while he viewed you differently (as like, a cold blooded killer what the fuck,) he wasn’t going to give up on you just because of a dark past.
Sebastian
“I mean, who hasn’t?”
Your head whips up to stare back at Sebastian, not sure you just hear those words correctly. “Wait–”
“You think I haven’t killed a man? Why do you think I hide out in the basement coding shit all day instead of living in the city and making a fortune? Be realistic.”
“Sebastian, I–”
“No, it’s cool. I really don’t care,” he said with a shrug and went back to typing on his computer.
“Well, no, wait; Sebastian that’s a lot to drop on someone–”
“Hey, I wasn’t a fucking hitman though now was I?”
“I don’t know, were you?!”
He shrugs again, reaching for an open pack of cigarettes and lights one up. He takes a deep drag and then blows it out slowly. “I’m gonna go get some leftover pumpkin soup, I made it last night, you want some?”
You just stare back at him, your jaw hanging open. Now you were the one that needed more information!
But, you supposed that could wait. Pumpkin soup was on the line, afterall.
Shane
He takes a sip of his soda, savoring the flavor and bubbles before putting his can back down on the kitchen table.
“So,” he began, forcing himself to sit up straight and meet your eyes.
“Are you here to kill me then?”
“What?”
“Are you.. here, to kill me?” Shane asked again, slowly.
“No!” you shouted and waved your hands in front of you like a white flag. “You’ve got the wrong idea!”
“I’m not telling you how I made the chickens blue, you can beat me to the brink of death and I’ll never spill–”
“Shane, babe, no– well actually how do you–” you stopped speaking as Shane glared at you and narrowed his eyes. “Nevermind the chickens, I’m not here to kill you.”
“To kill Marnie then?” He asks. “To end the competition for milk and eggs? You make me sick,” he spit.
“No, what? I turn all my milk into cheese to make you Pepper Poppers or Pizza–”
“Then the eggs!” He declares and stands up, pointing a finger down where you sat.
“Please, just listen to me,” you stood with him, on the verge of tears knowing that this could be the end–
Shane’s frown twitched, so quick you could almost miss it.
You opened your mouth to speak, then closed it, then opened it again.
“Oh, I see. You came here to kill Willy, with your gaping fish mouth.”
Any doubt or worries you had dropped instantly. “You’re totally fucking with me, aren’t you?”
“Yeah, I found your list of names a few months ago. You really shouldn’t leave that stuff lying around you know?”
“Yoba,” you sighed in relief and dropped back into your chair, the wood lightly squeezing on the tiled floor. “Why didn’t you say anything?” You kept your head down, ashamed to have ever tried to hide this from him.
Shane chuckled and sat back down, “I figured you’d tell me when the time was right.”
You risked a glance at Shane, “do you hate me for it.”
“Hate you? Of all people to hate someone for the mistakes they made in their past, you think I’m going to be one of them? I’m a little offended, farmer.”
“I’m sorry,” you cracked a smile as he gazed at you, his eyes filled with all of the love and support in the world.
He was right, Shane would never judge you for your past, just as you never judge him for his. The only thing that matters is the kind of person you are moving forward, and that suits him just fine.
Abigail
The first thing she asks, with a wicked grin and excited eyes, “So, how many people did you kill?”
While she knows the value of a human life, she could never allow her thoughts to wander towards ‘what if I killed someone?’ She feared she may pursue it herself.
“What was your weapon of choice?” she would ask next, hardly containing the buzz flowing through her body from the quick high; knowing she was talking to (dating!) a certified badass killer.
She does view you differently, however.
Not as an evil person, as you might have expected; but someone strong enough to protect her, someone who told her this knowing that she might turn away from them, someone who loves her enough to put her first.
The subject is sensitive, and she knows not to tease you too much or ask for too many details; but she does ask for the occasional story – if you’re willing to give it.
Emily
She gasps, her hands flying up to cover her mouth as she stares back at you in horror. “W-what do you m-mean,” she stumbles over her words, her hands now shaking as she lowers them away from her face, trying to steady them as they rest in her lap. “You.. you actually, ki–” she can’t finish the sentence.
“I did what I had to, to get by. Please understand that I’m not a bad person-”
“You killed people,” she dropped her head and watched as tears fell into her lap. “You actually killed people…”
“Emily–”
“How can I trust you after this?!” She jumped up, still shaking while she paced around her room. “How can I know that you’re not withholding more?!”
You stood and put your hands on her shoulders, holding her in place, but she refused to meet your eyes. “I swear to you, I will never hide something from you again… if you just give me a chance to prove myself.”
Emily dropped her head onto your shoulder, softly sobbing and letting her tears drip onto your shirt. “You’re going to tell me everything.”
“Okay,” you whispered back, your arms moving down to wrap around her. “I’ll tell you anything you want to know.”
There would be a lot of trust issues moving forward, and Emily would keep you on a tight leash for a while; but she knew that not everyone was perfect, and while she might not like your past, she loves who you are now. And she’s not willing to give up yet.
Haley
She looked up from her phone, her brow dropping down and her eyes narrowing, “Ew.”
You tried not to snort a laugh at her reply, but failed miserably. “That’s all you have to say? Ew?”
She rolled her eyes at you, “what else am I supposed to say? Oh no, please don’t kill me, super scary hitman?”
“Uh,” you looked around you as if you could find the answer hovering in the air. “I’m.. not.. sure, honestly.”
Another eyeroll. “You’re making a bigger deal out of this than it’s worth. I’m still going to love you no matter what dumb shit you’ve done in your past. I mean, did you know that I dyed my hair black once? Also, ew. Total regret.”
Bewildered, you plopped down beside her, shaking your head in disbelief. “You don’t care?”
“Ugh. Of course I care,” she slapped you on the side and finally put her phone aside. “But you obviously regret it, like I did with the black hair, and while our past mistakes may have been huge; it doesn’t dictate who we are today. So, don’t worry about it.”
“You realize you’re comparing black hair to the murder of a.. Lot of people?”
“Babe,” she took a deep breath, staring deep into your eyes, begging you to understand…
“I used a box dye. Tell me a worse crime than that.”
You laughed together, her crime never coming close to your misdeeds, and she knew it. But after getting to know you, she knew she could continue to trust you just as she always has.
Leah
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!” Leah threw her paintbrush at you, hitting you in the chest and leaving a splotch of yellow paint. “Not again!”
“Again?!” you shouted back in shock. “What do you mean again!?”
“Tell me,” she hissed. “How many, what organization, and why the hell did you make me fall in love with you?!”
“Leah,”
“Do. Not. Leah. Me.” Each word spit in your direction. “Answer me.”
You sighed, “it was a lot of people.. The organization was international and I never really knew who was in charge..” Closing your eyes, just to get away from her angry glare for a moment, you continued, “I never meant to mislead you. I wanted to tell you the truth to see if I even still stood a chance with you.”
Leah relaxed, shaking her head before finding a place to sit down. “Thanks, for telling me, I guess.”
Moving to her side, you kneeled next to her, taking her paint stained hands into your own. “Please, just give me a chance to make this up to you. I never wanted to hurt you.”
“Yeah, well. You did,” she gently pulled her hands away, turning away from you. “Honestly, I don’t know if I can go through this again.”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re never fully out of that life, farmer. That past will come back to haunt you one day, and I don’t think I have the strength to endure it.”
“No, Leah, it’s over, I swear–”
“Just leave, okay? I have a lot to think about.”
Dejected, you do as you're told, stopping to say one last thing before you go. “I hope you’ll give me another chance, Leah. I’ve never felt this way about someone before, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
She sniffles and wipes a tear away, “we’ll see.”
Maru
She begins by tilting her head at you, her eyes scanning you up and down before turning back to her studies. “I know that, it’s pretty obvious.”
“Huh?!” you blurt out, shaking your head. “How–”
Maru sighed and put her work aside, realizing that they needed to have a full chat about this now, despite her samples calling for her.
“Once, you mentioned the amount of required poison to kill a person without raising suspicion to require an autopsy.”
“Okay, but–”
“Another time, when my dad asked if you wanted to go camping one weekend and maybe hunting, you asked if a Heckler & Koch P30L would be an appropriate gun to bring.”
“I’ve never been hunting before!” you defended, weakly.
“Sweetheart, it’s a handgun. You don’t go hunting with a handgun.”
“Hang on–”
“Furthermore, you have two bullet wounds that I know of. One on your lower left calf and the other on your upper bicep. You also have obvious scars from being stabbed or sliced and it was most certainly not from a childhood cat.”
You both stared at one another. You felt like an idiot for thinking you could ever hide anything from her.
“Does it bother you?”
“A little,” she admitted with a small shrug. “So long as you don’t go back into that kind of work though, I can get over it. Just don’t ever try to lie to me again, I will always know.”
Penny
Her eyes widen and her heartbeat jumps so quickly she thinks she might faint.
She would have never expected this of you.
Going into the mines was one thing, but killing people was a whole other level of insanity.
It takes her a minute to process what you’ve just told her, her hands twisting in her lap, fearing she’s going to say the wrong thing.
“Were they all bad people?” she finally asks, lifting her eyes up to meet yours.
You take a moment to respond, a lie resting at the tip of your tongue, but you squash it and say, “No, they weren’t.”
At this, Penny breaks.
She drops her head into her hands and cries, pulling her knees up and to her chest while the heels of her feet rest on the edge of the couch.
She was in love with you. So desperately, eagerly, pathetically in love with you.
And now, she doesn’t know how to move forward.
Her whole life, she has dealt with bad people. From the moment she was born she has fought with everything she’s ever had to be one of the good ones. Abiding by the rules, keeping to herself to avoid stepping on any toes, taking care of others when they don’t even appreciate the kindness she shows to them.
“I don’t-” she gasped between her tears. “I don’t think I can do this.”
The farmer nodded, taking her hands into their own and squeezing them gently. “I love you, Penny. More than anything.”
“Why did you have to tell me?” she whispered. “Why..”
“I couldn’t keep lying to you..”
Penny stood, ripping her hands away to rope the back of them under her eyes. “Don’t talk to me. Don’t talk to me ever again.”
Then she ran off, leaving you there as the guilt washed over you.

So, we all know that for the most part people in Stardew Valley have jobs. But those who don’t like Haley, Abagail, Alex (he works at an ice cream stand in the summer that doesn’t count lol) Elliott, and Shane (once you marry him he stops going to work at JoJa Mart). I’m curious to know what you think these characters would enjoy doing for a living, or what they may have wanted to be growing up. I may have messed up and added a character who does have a job, or I missed a character that doesn’t and didn’t add them. Apologies if I did.
