Summary: you end up taking care of one of bjs minions on accident but it ends with beetlejuice himself ends up taking a liking to you.

When you decide to take in a random stranger into your house you didn’t expect a demon to show up in your house a few days later claiming it was his ‘minion’.” You dont even know why you took him in, he just looked so sad and it was cold. So over the course of a few days you lost your nicer roommate and gained a slightly more disgusting, more uninvited one.

At least beetlejuice was interesting, never a dull moment with him. Like the day you came home from the store and he turned your living room into his bedroom. It was still like that a month later because you couldn’t be bothered to do anything about it and it was obvious he wasnt going to. Instead you rolled your eyes and said a few choice words under your breath before going to the kitchen and putting the food away.

You didn’t know why bj stayed at your house when he clearly had a place to stay in the ‘neitherworld’ as he called it, you assumed it was akin to the afterlife. You secretly missed bob, he was much nicer and much more respectful, quiet —considering he couldn’t talk— and he didn’t flirt with you every minute of the day. Sometimes you wondered if he just liked you, you probably wouldn’t mind him staying then.

Sometimes he was nice, he brought you “gifts”, he (over) watered your plants and he cooked a semi-edible dinner. beggars can’t be choosers, especially when it comes to your demon roommate. He was decent company, when he wasn’t flirting or too busy staring at you to actually take in what you were saying. When he actually listened to what you were saying he had surprisingly normal things to add, most of them old fashioned and not acceptable now but it was normal for him and thats all you could really ask for.

Once he disappeared for a few days, you never thought youd find yourself worrying for him but you did. You knew he couldn’t die but you didnt know how the neitherworld worked either. When he came back you wanted to hit him for making you worry and you almost did if it weren’t for the actual first nice present he got you in his hands. You forgot about your anger for a while to appreciate it, but it didn’t last long when you realized that he’d left you alone and worried for days. That was the first time you’d gotten a sincere apology from him.

Bj was never sorry, he wasnt sorry when he transformed your living room into a pigsty, he wasn’t sorry when he crashed in your place uninvited, he wasnt sorry when he wrecked your kitchen and left you to clean up the mess. So you were a little stunned to hear “im sorry” come out of his mouth and you wouldnt be surprised if your face showed it.

He left a lot more frequently after that, he claimed it was because of work. You didn’t really wanna find out what being a human exorcist entailed but you kind of missed his presence. You barely heard his neitherworld sitcoms and telenovelas on late at night anymore and your house was suspiciously clean. He only came home when you were already in bed or at the store. You decided to ask him why he was gone so much.

You stayed up way past the time you would usually go to sleep, wanting to catch bj in the act of getting stuff from his ‘room’ before leaving again. Although you were worried about accidentally falling asleep you waited patiently, reading a book to pass the time until you heard him shuffling about, being purposefully quiet as to not “wake” you. You got up from your bed as quietly as you could without alarming him and waited in the doorway as you waited for him to notice you, clad in your pajamas.

“Look who decided to come home.” You joked, your eyes heavy from the lack of sleep.

He jumped a bit, you obviously taking him off guard. He tried to stumble through excuses, but nothing he said made sense. None of his excuses connected, you were starting to think he was just using you for a place to put his shit considering he didn’t even come home anymore. The next words out of his mouth caught you by surprise, your eyes widening as you stood up straight; not using the doorway as support.

Some sort of confession came out of his mouth, you almost didnt hear it because of how fast he was talking. You had to shake him by his shoulders to stop him talking, he was spitting words out almost a mile a minute. You almost wondered how he hadn’t passed out but you mentally facepalmed as you realized he was dead. He looked at you stunned, he didn’t expect you to shake him like that even if it was to get him to shut up.

You pulled him into a kiss before he knew it, he tasted like dirt but you didn’t have any right to complain; you were the one kissing him after all. He deepened the kiss, pulling you closer than before with his hands on your waist. You smiled into the kiss before breaking it, your hands still on his shoulders. You rolled your eyes at his next remark, something cocky along the lines of “i knew you wouldn’t be able to resist me” as if he wasnt the one babbling in the middle of your living room a few minutes ago.

You pulled away completely before telling him goodnight and to not keep his “work” waiting. You knew he’d be in your room in the next 5 minutes max, and that was being generous. You were right of course, he showed up by the other side of your bed dressed in his own pajamas before joining you in bed. You laughed quietly to yourself before rolling over and getting comfortable.

Our team has been beset by a number of shortcomings, leavings, heartaches in recent months. You’ve surely noticed our absence from X—formerly Twitter—and Tumblr, and it may look like it’s the bricks for us and any merc-kissers.

But that’s not true! We’re a small team but we persevere. To tell the truth, the project is in about the same state as it was two months ago, say some updates to the script and a proverbial passing of the baton in project lead. It’s always “being worked on,” slowburn style, so be not afraid noble reader. It’ll come out, no deadline announced.

In the meantime, our smaller staff has become more multifaceted and talented than ever. It'll come out, but it will be a wait. All deadlines stated before this should be seen as null and void.
