Quote
Jedi can be afraid. Jedi can be scared. There’s no shame in it. Everyone is scared at one time or another. The difference for a Jedi is that we know fear is fleeting and should never win. A Jedi never runs from their fear. They face it, safe in the knowledge that the Force is with them, and they are one with the Force.

The High Republic Fear of the Jedi #1
There is SO MUCH going on in this. So many characters and callbacks. It's overwhelming for me to remember not only who these people are but what they've done. It feels like this story is only for people well versed in the high republic. And yet, they also repeat really obvious information. Like the stuff with the stormwall. I think cutting out half the characters would have made this a much stronger story.

Lucasfilm hosted a publishing panel Thursday at SDCC that covered several upcoming releases, including the Battle of Jakku comic coming from Marvel this fall. Today’s panel also brought the news that phase 3 of the Star Wars: The High Republic will come to a close next year, and Cavan Scott and Marika Cresta will help wrap it up at Marvel with a comic titled Fear of the Jedi. It kicks off in February.

"We walk into the light, acknowledge the dark, and find balance in ourselves, because the Force is strong." [Star Wars: The High Republic 2024, #8] Anyway, I'm starting a collection to show that this is also what the prequels Jedi and the High Republic Jedi taught and practiced. That the dark side was in all of them, that it was a lifelong struggle to overcome it within themselves, and find balance in the light within themselves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, of course, The Clone Wars episode "The Gathering" is structured around the central test of sending the younglings to Ilum to get their first kyber crystal--which involves them having to face fears that are unique to them. That's the whole point, to overcome the dark side that's inside all of them, to free themselves of that prison. This is reflected in every Jedi's path--from the Jedi younglings of the prequels to Ezra in the Jedi Temple on Lothal to Luke in the dark side cave on Dagobah to Rey in the dark side cave on Ahch-To--that to move forward on their path, they must confront the darkness within themselves, the Jedi knew this and built their culture around it, their Temples around it, and never forgot it. No one was beyond it, not even Master Yoda, no matter how much they all admired and respected him, even they knew that Yoda was not beyond the reach of the dark side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was not a one-time thing. It was not a faucet they could turn off. It was a lifelong struggle to overcome it. It was the destiny of a Jedi to confront this fear within themselves. To acknowledge the dark and walk into the light to find balance.

Cockwarming with (mandalorian) m reader x anakin please?👉🏻👈🏻
Anakin Skywalker x Mandalorian Male reader
Drabble
Tumblr media
I miss Anakin so much… I’m so exhausted from classes, send help. This takes place somewhere during the clone wars. Reader is a part of a covert of some kind, cuz I’m not making the reader Death Watch.
On the short side, but I enjoyed writing it. This became kinda lovey-dovey, even though i didnt mean too lmao.
Anakin sighed breathlessly as he sat in your lap, his front against yours as his legs were hooked around your middle. It was very difficult, if not outright impossible for you two to spend any time together ever since the war started. With Anakin leading his own group of clones and being well known across the galaxy as the hero with no fear, to you being a Mandalorian member of a covert, meaning you didn’t want any attention on you, or said covert.
But there were times you two could find little pockets in your busy convoluted schedules to spend some time together, even if that meant Anakin having to sit in your lap as you were seating in the pilot seat of your ship, the galaxy outside rushing by thanks to hyperspace. Normally you two would have used this little time you had together to get a quick fuck in, to get as much out of one another as possible and to wring the other dry. But something must have happened on Anakin’s last mission, as he had situated himself in your lap, seating himself on your cock and just feeling you.
Anakin was never one for patience, so it left worry niggling in the back of your head as your jedi lover slowly rolling his hips. There wasn’t any exact purpose to his movements, there was no hurry to get either of you over the edge, there was simply a search for closeness and love.
You could feel him kissing at the little piece of skin exposed between your helmet and the flight suit you wore, Anakin’s hands loosely gripping your biceps as he sucked a hickey the one area he was able. It was a shame you couldn’t take your helmet off around him, not without you two getting married, but you hoped the day would come soon. Instead, Anakin had to settle with kissing your chin, or the few times you would pull your helmet up high enough for him to kiss you on the lips.
Soft praise in mandoa passed from your lips as his insides squeezed slightly around your shaft, making you groan softly in appreciation. You were nowhere near close, but that didn’t seem to matter to either of you. All that seemed to have any importance right now was the fact that you were inside him, and Anakin was warming you, creating a connection that could only be shared between lovers.
It was the closest you two could get in some cases. You weren’t force sensitive, and even if you were, the beskar of your armor wouldn’t have allow any type of mind connection, so warming your cock was another way to feel that type of closeness. That’s what Anakin said at least.
With a kiss to the top of his head through your helmet, you settled your hands on his hips, lazily rocking him along to the pace he had set himself, satisfaction filling your veins when he sighed softly in warm pleasure and devotion, a deep burning feeling that was returned just as strongly in yourself.
As the stars rushed by outside the windows of your ship, you reached up to push your helmet up just enough to expose your lips, the lips that rarely saw the light of day, and were so rarely seen by another person. Anakin peeks an eye open and cracks that handsome smile of his that always has your heart fluttering, and with a soft pull at his hips, he leans in and carefully kisses you. His insides squeeze around you, making you huff against his lips, but Anakin just laughs.
You may not have the force, and you may have to live a life in secret, hidden away from the very republic that Anakin fights for, but your love for him burns bright, and you wouldn’t change it for anything.

Rah rah, Sith bad but like when the Sith Order was apart of the Sith Empire society and not a weird trauma cult (I.E.: Bane’s Order), imagine how scary it had to be to grow up in that environment. For one, your people (the OG Sith) were already occupied by the Jedi Exiles and your species became the Sith Purebloods. Then, you guys get ran the fuck out of Korriban and have to struggle to survive because Naga Sadow flopped. So the Republic and Jedi really beat y’all ass.
The Sith Empire just doesn’t have the overall economy or power of the Republic so imagine being a Sith Pureblood child and knowing that it’s pretty much on sight for you for the rest of your life. Because unlike a lot of alien species, if you see a Sith Pureblood there’s a high chance they’re Imperial or Sith Order.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like mfs had the most iconic design of anybody in Star Wars, there’s no hiding from being a Sith if you’re a Sith Pureblood. A Jedi can spot you a mile away and it’s immediate smoke. Growing up knowing that would make me an aggressive mf who’s driven by fear and hatred too. Your culture also has a lot of practices that are considered “darkside” but it’s probably just because you guys evolved to survive Korriban (shittiest planet ever, makes Tatooine look like Naboo in comparison)
Then you factor in that you guys are exiled and there’s probably zero chance the Republic will welcome you into the club after y’all were acting an ass for like 4 generations. It’s pretty much fight or die, you don’t even have your home world a good minute either. Plus, Jedi and Republic mfs go to your homeworld to steal your ancestors shit like mfs stealing your great great great grandmas ancient incense burner and sticking it in the chancellors office or some shit
I’m not saying the Sith Empire are right or whatever, but I’m saying that I can only imagine how scary it has to be to be a kid growing up in these circumstances and why you’d grow up being like “I want to be a Sith Lord and beef with the Jedi too”. Sith Pureblood parents probably telling their kids “if you be bad, the Jedi Knight will get you” when they’re misbehaving
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because on the real, I know Sith Purebloods be looking intimidating and scary when they grown but when they lil kids they have zero aura. Sis imagine looking like that and knowing that grown ass people with telekinesis and the world’s hottest swords want you dead. Yeah, I’m turning my fear into anger, anger into hate, and going to the darkside too. Also, I’m getting dripped tf out in jewelry too

The layers ep 3 of The Acolyte has going on. The coven wants to use the force independently, in their own way and they are critical of the Jedi but so far we're seeing what is merely a different belief system, they follow the Thread rather than the Force, and the Thread could be any magical system in a high fantasy book cycle, can be used for good, or for evil, same as the Force can be used by the light or dark side. The Force, the Thread, are not inherently good/evil. It's in how it's wielded. It's about personal choices, Star Wars always has been.
The coven has its own dogmas and rules. Same as the Jedi has its dogmas. There's a lot in this about dogmas, and it's not that either side is the villains. It's about two religious groups of different belief systems. Mother Aniseya says "the galaxy is not a place that welcomes women like us." The group is isolationist and peaceful (from what we can see), this is an oppressed, misunderstood group driven into hiding, because their dogma doesn't follow the dogma systemically supported by the Republic, which would be the Jedi order's methods of doing things. The Jedi also being a religious order and they eventually got targeted and destroyed, and had to go into hiding. The Thread, the Force, these groups are mirrors. At the time The Acolyte takes place, the Jedi have the systemic upper hand.
The Thread are no less dogmatic than the Jedi, the Jedi are no less dogmatic than the Thread. The Jedi aren't isolationist--they are galactic. Contrasting to the isolationism of the Thread witches, but the Jedi can afford to be expansive. It's not order 66 yet. The Jedi don't have to go into hiding yet.
The story isn't anti-Jedi. The story is asking people to take another look, a closer look, at how the force mythos works in the Star Wars universe--50 years or so of stories--and see past default biases and assumptions people make. The Jedi critical aspects of Star Wars are not something invented after George left. That was part of the story he was telling in the prequels and The Clone Wars. And it's not "Jedi bad" either, and it's not "Jedi order has no flaws and Jedi are always right."
There's also references to Republic laws. There is a systemic power imbalance favoring the Jedi. That's not "Jedi bad" that's something that happens in the real world and has always been depicted in Star Wars.
Koril calls the Jedi "deranged monks" and that too is a mirror to how the coven was regarded with suspicion and fear. That's a two way street.
Mother Aniseya tells Osha "fear should not make this decision. You should." Sounds like something Yoda would say.

I just watched the first 3 episodes of Star Wars' Skeleton Crew and I need Wim to meet Luke Skywalker, I fear. That kid deserves to meet a real Jedi.
I really like Fern and KB's friendship, and I've only had Neel for like 3 hours but if anything happened to him I'd kill everyone in the room and then myself.
Also, Jod might not be a Jedi but he never said if he was Force sensitive or not...
And wtf is going on on At Attin? It's implied that they're so isolated (undetermined if by choice or force) that they are still under the impression that the Republic, the FIRST Republic, is still in power. They don't know anything about the Clone Wars or Galactic Civil War! Thats such an interesting framing device within a franchise whose entire story is built on those wars. I'm very interested to see where that storyline is going.
(Also I saw a post theorizing if the ship the kids are on could be a Nihil ship and my High Republic loving ass would be so insufferable if that's the case).
