Sorry not a confession but more of a little nerd out because I have no one irl to share this with. I just started a starstruck odyssey after watching all of fh, the first season of unsleeping city, and crown of candy, and so far I think it is one of my favorites. I came to d20 with zero dnd experience, but have caught on after watching five seasons, so the star wars set up is a little confusing to me, but I find it really enjoyable so far. I'm only on the fourth episode but it is SO FUNNY which I wasn't expecting. Obviously they're a group of comedians so they naturally joke around, but coming off of more intense/darker campaigns like CoC the comedy hit me way harder than I was expecting. Skip is making me laugh so hard I cry, and I actually immediatly clocked that the captain was a different vibe than Zac's normal characters. I don't want to spoil anything, but then at the end of the first episode I immediately thought "right ok this is more like Zac".

P.S. the voice Siobhan does for Riva scratches my brain just right the way she says putty at first I thought I was going crazy and couldn't remember if Siobhan always had that accent.

The Story So Far...Echoes of Rebellion: Session 0

I thought it would be fun to write out the goings on of a Star Wars 5e campaign I'm a part of. I'll do my best to update every session. There are a few backed up so hopefully I'll get them all out before our next session. Let me know if you'd like me to keep going with this!

Opening Crawl:

It is a dark time in the galaxy. The iron fist of the Galatic Empire has tightened its grip, spreading fear and oppression across countless star systems. In the aftermath of ORDER 66, Darth Vader's sinsiter Inquisitors scour the stars, tracking down the last remnants of the Jedi Order. Survivors cling to secretcy, their light dimmed but not extinguised. Amid this tyrany, whispers of rebellion have begun to grow. A small yet detemed alliance of freedom fights has risen to challenge the Empire's domainance. Though vastly outnumbered, they fight for the justice, believing that a spark of hope can ignight the flames of freedom. Now, a myserious distress call has reached the rebels' hidden network, claiming to be from an imperial defector with critical information. Sensing a chance to strike a blow against the Empire, the Rebellion dispatches a small craft to uncover the truth. Will this lead to the advantage the Rebellion desperately needs--or a trap that cold spell their doom? The fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance...

Characters:

Kat: Human, Rebel and believer in the cause (character sheet)

J3: Pilot droid, droid right's advocate trying to get by in the galaxy

L-30 (Leo): B-1 Battle droid, bounty hunter who is under the impression he's not, in fact, a droid

Nix: Half Devaronian/Half Zabrak, former inquisitor and current defector from the empire

Lexar: Mandalorian, bounty hunter looking for the next score

Khalid: Human, force sensative fourteen year old just starting to figure out what that means in this much more dangerous world

Session Summary:

The story starts with Kat, a rebel operative, embarking on a crucial mission to Tatooine to meet an Imperial defector using the codename Pheonix. Upon reaching Ab Dalis, Kat sought J3-47, a piolit droid, for transport. However, their meeting was cut short by an ambush resulting in a fierce shoot out. J3 was shot in the crossfire, but she and Kat were able to escape on her ship, The Cosmic Clover. With the help of J3's Jawa compaion Gicks, the three were able to escape.

Meanwhile, a young boy named Khalid found himself trapped in a crashed ship, sinking in the dunes of Tatooine. Their mentor, Malik, a former Jedi used his dying moments to bestow upon them a lightsaber and a message; find Kat. Khalid barely escaped the wreckage before the ship was consumed by the Sarlaac.

A screen wipe transitioned to Mos Eisley where Nix was searching for information about incoming ships.

Khalid eventually made his way back through the desert to Mos Eisley, but found no safety there either.

L-30, also known as Leo, quickly caught sight of him and attempted to apprehend Khalid for the bounty. Unfortunately for Leo another bounty hunter was seeking the reward.

Lexar disabled L-30 with a well-aimed ion rifle shot, but before he could take his quarry, Nix pulled Khalid to safety.

Taking solice in at least sucessfully obtaining a new droid, Lexar went to examine L-30 only for the droid to have one more trick up his sleeve. Before being disable, L-30 manged to prime a stun grenande, taking Lexar by surpise as it went off.

Lexar now taken out, Nix force pulled L-30 to her with plans to repair and interrogate him.

The adventure concluded with the Cosmic Clover touching down in Mos Eisley just as Nix, Khalid and an incapacitated L-30 entered Wu-D's Jizz Den to await Nix's rebel contact.

A New NPC Sith for my Star Wars 5e game

Sooooooo... I have another character. This time it's a group PC... For a Star Wars 5e game! She's a Mandalorian! Fighter, Shield Specialist. I am very excited to finally get to play her. I've had her since 2019/2020 I think?

Meet Seyra Ol'mun! Balosar Mandalorian! We're starting out in the Old Republic, after the Mandalorian Wars and during the Jedi Civil War. My husband is the DM, and he's running a modified Pathfinder Adventure Path for us! I can't share a lotta info about her (yet) because all three of my fellow players follow me (looking at you @snowyycouch, @bunnythedragon and @umilicious!) buuuut as they learn more and I do more art of her I'll share more.

We've got a human Guardian Jedi gone Mercenary (Couch). A Chironian Fighter, Heavy Weapons Specialist (Un)Retired Adventurer (Umi). And a Twi'lek Saboteur Operative Mechanic (Bunny) as our party. All solving an issue on Ryloth. (The Twi'lek was a stowaway on Seyra's ship and has grown attached to the Mando, much to Seyra's amused exasperation)

We've just had the first session, but I shot a Jawa right between the eyes with my snap senses ability and my initiative. It was great. I also got a nat 20 on a medic check to save a mercenary that'd been burned to near death! Our Jedi saved a goat from the Jawa by force jumping and force pulling the goat to her in one move! Hubby's doing a great job thus far and we've had some great downtime RP in the discord already too. Getting to better know each other's characters and explore our own characters.

I can't wait to see how the adventure plays out!

[Star Wars and DND fans: looking for group(s)/ campaign(s)]

[ Okay, this is probably a long shot since it’s the holidays, Christmas and all that jolly stuff—but I’m hoping to find someone who’s into Star Wars 5E campaigns!🌟

I’m currently on hold, waiting for players to join campaigns I’m running in my BG3 and Star Wars servers, so I’ve got some time to spare. In the meantime, I’m looking for any campaigns, resources, or groups that might be starting up in the galaxy far, far away! I don’t mind the era—honestly, I love all of them! From the Old Republic to the Rebellion and everything in between, I’m all in. Heck, I’ve racked up over 680+ hours in SWTOR, so I’m no stranger to the galaxy far, far away!!!💫

If anyone knows of any campaigns, resources, or groups that might be starting up, or if you’re just looking for another player, let me know! Baby N-8's Grindr Adventures

In which things happen. I don't know why my friends that actually know star wars still talk to me with this nonsense tbh. Thanks as always to @justheretolurk24 for being an excellent editor.

N-8 was getting a bit bored. He’d been planet hopping for a bit, and was finding that it was often a bit difficult to get settled in new planets. Heck, even in just new cities when he needed to leave quickly but didn’t have the money to completely bail ship. It was hard to find a place to stay without knowing anyone that knew the area, especially on his budget. Sure he was pretty well-built to be outside, but he found that unideal. Especially as it gave him very little to do for leisure. Again, bored.

He was snooping around the holonet on his ipad when he found something that looked promising. It was an app- advertised as being Galaxy’s-Reach-Inclusive (excellent, it would still be useful on other planets) for all Networking/Dating/Relationship needs. Worst case scenario it would be a good distraction.

The thing asked for his name and gender. Haha! He had both of those. It also asked for his age, which was of course-

How old was he?

Chronologically, strictly speaking, he was about 3 or 4 standard years old. Now, there was a wide variance among sapient creatures in rates of maturation and lifespan, but he was still fairly certain that for about every sapient organic out there 3-4 years would be a baby child. He may be fairly new to existing, and especially new to existing with free-will, but he wasn’t a kid.

He finally settled on just putting [category]- [young adult]. He was an adult. He was young. It worked.

Account made, he settled back to wait for it to connect him to someone nearby, hopefully someone with a television. He couldn’t keep relying on sports bars. They wanted you to buy things. And only played sports.

It wasn’t long before he got a notification. He pulled open his messages.

Oh, hmm, that was a way to start a conversation with a stranger.

He blocked them and closed the app immediately.

The next couple interactions went much better, but he was getting the vibe that in practice this app was not, despite advertisements, actually used for all Networking/Dating/Relationship needs. Tough, because he was going to do it anyway. He should probably make some adjustments to his profile to clarify some things for potential matches. Such as the fact he was, under no circumstances, removing any layers. He didn’t even have a mouth for void’s sake. (Not that he was telling anyone that)

Soon, through his impeccable taste and a lot of swiping, he found something that looked promising. A beautiful man (just because he wasn’t going anywhere serious with this didn’t mean he didn’t have standards), looking for a casual platonic one night stand, and was mainly interested in watching movies. N-8 was going to a movie night and hopefully getting an introduction to the city for free. G-R-I.N/D/R was great actually.

Besides having to excuse himself by pretending he ‘ate before he got there’, the venture went pretty well, actually. He got to watch movies, and was pointed towards several dirt cheap places to rent, if you didn’t need things like water which he didn’t. Also, to his delight, the guy let him crash for the night.

Initially N-8 spent a while after that, in the short times between living places, doing what many might describe as a particularly fascinating variety of couch surfing. But pretty soon he was settling faster in new places and was, if anything, using this tactic more often while he had a place of his own. Televisions were expensive and hard to lug between planets, after all. At some point in the future he would decide he was far enough out into the rim and start to settle. He would stay in place long enough to form work relationships with strange people in tall buildings and neighborly relationships with little old ladies. For the time being he was getting really into a lot of shows which was a problem when you were usually only able to watch the same thing for like a week max. 

Did he once have a month-long Something with someone formed in good part on the basis of wanting to finish a really long show? Possibly.

You found weird trends in shows going through them like this. Most material out there you could only actually find on the one planet it was made on, or even state, not to mention what the imperial censorship on the holonet was like. During some more underground connections he found that there was a selection of rare shows a bit fixated on clones. Imperial media liked to use them a lot as little propaganda symbols (no wonder, they attracted people that missed the republic and certainly had the looks for television), but anti-imperial media, when it included them, made a point of dealing with the Empire’s cannon fodder as actual individuals. As something beyond soldiers that might not even stay there.

He tended to gravitate towards these shows. His series had a lot in common with them, he thought, more than most would care to think about. Two sides of the same credit maybe. He’s pretty sure most would probably deck him for saying something like that. There was an event though, that their plot lines tended to come back to. 

He usually stopped watching, after that. No point in retreading the same story.

It was also interesting the different places you could end up like this. Sometimes you found yourself in a nice apartment owned by some asshole you were definitely going to steal from, and sometimes you found yourself in a basement owned by anarchist punks that probably shouldn’t be so laissez-faire about exposing their home and anti-imperial activities to randos they found on G-R-I.N/D/R.

There were weird trends in the people you met too. A lot of the people straight-up trying to find people to watch soaps with were romantics. He got teased his fair share for rooting for the so-called “bad-boys” in shows rather than the “nice guys”. But the shows always made it too intense. The “nice” choice was just too nice. No one would actually treat you like that, it was suspicious, really. Besides, how can you snark with someone like that?
